Really hit the spot on a cold day. We enjoyed the variety of banchan that came out, especially the raw crab and chayote pickles in dashi broth. My usual soondubu was sizzling hot and tasty. Could have had some more beef. The usual seafood pancake was fried home style with plenty of veggies. Could have had a bit more shrimp. Good as usual. I was really excited to try the agu Jim but I think it's really not my taste. The red sauce it came in was actually a bit too sweet, not like what I expect. The waitress told us to dip it with soy sauce and wasabi but then the taste was like eating boiled sushi.. the monkfish consistency was not like what I expect either.. also too much shrimp. I did like the bean sprouts and chives and watercress in the stew. Overall I would not get the agu Jim next time and would stick to my usuals and maybe try the sushi. The hot tea was pretty good and they were very attentive about filling it.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious and very authentic, with a generous variety of side dishes that kept coming. The service was amazing--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Definitely one of the best Korean dining experiences I've had.

Authentic Korean Home made style! Friendly staffs and feel like home. Food came out fast and delicious. Must go during cold season.

Came in for lunch. Decided to go with the lunch specials. The prices to portion ratio is fair. There is cash price vs card price. Service was polite. A true mom and pop shop. Contrary to the name though, it's not a sushi spot. It's hearty home cooked tasting Korean food. The hearty broths makes your body warm and fuels my soul. The spicy squid over rice tasted perfect. This store puts it over rice instead of udon which i usually prefer but the rice definitely fills me up more. I finished the entire bowl. The kalbi box lunch set was more vegetables than protein. The kalbi was just OK. The soondooboo and casserole at the next table looked way better. Would definitely come back to try those.. they gave generous portion of banchans. I liked that the fish cakes were less salty/sweet and more naturally fish flavored. It was nice to have 2 varieties of kimchi too, because I don't like the more sour cabbage only one and loved the other one vs everyone else around me. This is a mom and pop shop and it tastes like home.

Took the drive to old Bethpage for some Korean tofu soup on a cold winter day. There are not much options for Korean tofu in Long Island. There is ample parking in this mini mall. They served a variety of banchan but they did not allow us to pack it when we did not finish it. I'm pretty sure I ordered chicken udon but we were served seafood udon. The octopus was very very chewy in the udon noodle soup as well as the grilled octopus with pork belly. The sauce for pork belly dish was a little overwhelming. The star of the show was the soondubu but we would much rather drive to queens to eat Korean tofu and seafood pancake next time.

Food is really good! Very authentic! Love all the banchans, delicious! Service is very good and inside of the place is very nice and clean, family friendly too! I do have to agree with one of the review that webfoot octopus is a bit too chewy, other than that, no complains! Will definitely comeback and recommend this place to anyone who wants some authentic Korean food!

Every time I come to Long Island I think of this place and crave it. It's a small cozy spot but man are the flavors rich! The food is made to perfection, we've been here 4x now and every time they knock it out of the park. They give you good decent size portions. The kimchi is amazing but my favorite is the lotus root that they make !!!! I've never had that till I came here and omg to die for. The staff is kind and friendly, and accommodating with letting you take home what you didn't finish eating. There is a bit of a language barrier but we understand each other. I love this place. We always dine in when we come here, They never disappoint. Yes it's small but the food makes up for it every single bite and the small places usually pack a big punch.

Ohhhhhh, what a wonderful "hidden gem" we discovered on our not-as-easy-as-you-might-think quest for reasonably priced Korean food in the general vicinity of my old hometown of Huntington. Our nearest option (in Commack) seems good but SOMEWHAT overpriced, and a deeper search here on Yelp helped us find Dake, which was PERFECT!! Not Korean BBQ (better, IMO...) and much more Korean than Japanese/sushi, we knew we were in for quite a treat as soon as we walked in on a weekday evening (my birthday!!) and found ourselves to be the only non-Koreans in the place. I recommend you STUDY their menu in advance, because it's BIG and like us, you're probably going to want one (or more!!) of just about everything they offer. Although we knew we were going to be offered a variety of ban chan small plates along with our entrees, we (I...) couldn't resist ordering a seafood pancake for the table... GREAT choice!! Our waitress was so helpful and VERY attentive... Our dinners (beef bibimbop, beef bulgogi for my sister, and my friend's VERY tasty Korean eel bowl (can't remember name) were all EXCELLENT. The menu (and the specials on the wall) appear to offer multiple "family style" dishes with some very authentic looking varieties of offerings, and I hope to get back here again soon to try MORE!! Reasonably priced for what you get, great service, and wonderful variety!! Come HUNGRY, leave VERY happy...

An under-the-radar gem, Dake Korean (it's actually a Korean eaterie, not a sushi place) is a must visit and probably the best Korean food I've tasted on Long Island. My son was in the know about the place, and took me there for a belated birthday dinner. Started with excellent banchan and an amazing seafood pancake, then a dish of phenomenal squid and pork belly, all washed down with yummy soju. Loved Dake!

Interesting combination of Sushi and Korean food. The most pleasant staff with a great sense of humor and contagious laughter. Noticed a lot of take out, was there during the lunch hour and a few patrons eating at the table. Ample parking in the plaza, priced accordingly and a huge selection with eye catching photos of various local dishes. I wasn't brave enough to endeavor the Korean cuisine but the spicy tuna with mango and avocado was delicious.

Dake sushi converted to Dake Korean. Only Korean food now . Two stars for staff in front. and my order been made within 10 mins. BUT short bone from bone soup and side ginger have sour taste. Taste is not right. It seems not fresh.. need to go for restroom after.. hope they can find a way make sure and check their food portion is small but expensive. We order $75 food for two ppl

The place was decorated with red heart balloons everywhere. My daughter loved this and wanted to take one. She wasn't able to, but the really nice sushi chefs did give her kani, which she loved. We started with hot tea, which was delicious. Kumo has a great lunch special. I took advantage of it and got the sushi and sashimi special. It consisted of a tuna roll, 5 pieces of sushi and 10 pieces of sashimi. Was very filling, fresh and delicious. Came with miso soup and salad. I enjoyed the salad, but their miso soup wasn't so great. I did not finish it. My husband also took advantage of the lunch special and ordered the 3 roll combo. He really enjoyed all of his rolls. My daughter had the tatsuta age. She absolutely loved it as it was basically chicken nuggets with panko. She is a huge chicken nugget fan and it's hard to find her things to eat usually at Japanese places as she isn't a fan of teriyaki chicken. Happy to know she likes this as well as Kani now. The only positive thing to say about this place is that their sushi is decent. Someone else ordered the vegetable teriyaki and got 2 pieces of broccoli and a carrot as their vegetables. No pea pods, bok choy, water chestnuts, onions, peppers, string beans etc. Just miserly portions with lots of oil, filler and hardly any protein or vegetables. Also their prices are sky high and their quality scrapes the bottom of the barrel. Never Again!!!

As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Melinda, one of our favorite waitresses, and were seated right away. May, who was also working tonight, promptly came over to take our order. She politely asked if we needed menus, but I declined since we already knew exactly what we wanted. We've had this same exchange with May quite a few times during our recent visits. We ordered our usual: the Sushi for Two, which comes with two specialty rolls and 18 pieces of sushi. Tonight we chose the Dozo Dozo and the Futomaki Special rolls. The meal also comes with either soup or salad, and tonight we both chose the soup. That's how much we love this dish. The restaurant itself is stunning, beautiful design, good music, and an upscale bar that transports you far from the reality of being in a strip mall on Jericho Turnpike. The ambiance feels high end and thoughtfully curated. However, a few details reminded us we were still in a strip mall. Small but important things that could easily make or break this place. The bartender, who essentially represents the restaurant and sets the tone , the "sensei" of the establishment, so to speak. He was friendly and kind, but his expertise in cocktails and culinary knowledge was lacking. After our first cocktail, I made it clear that I dislike sweet drinks or wines. He then recommended a Riesling which is known for being a sweet, semi-dessert wine -- which made me question his understanding of the menu. He seemed young and inexperienced, though well-intentioned. The food was a mixed experience. The raw bar appetizers were excellent, and both the lobster udon pasta and spaghetti were delicious! Unfortunately, the lamb chops were a complete miss. We ordered them medium rare, as they arrived so..they were looking and tasting boiled, with no sear, no crust, and a chewy texture. Halfway through my second glass of wine, the bartender refilled it without asking. I assumed it might be on the house, tipping me off. As it wasn't a full glass of wine. When the bill came, I saw I had been charged for a full glass. He never asked if I wanted another; he simply refilled it and added it to the check. That's an amateur. We also received a complimentary glass of champagne (which we noticed was being served to all omakase guests), though the bartender presented it as though it were a personal gesture from him. His words were "these last two rounds were on me". Meanwhile, it was just a 2 glasses of champagne.. my husband and I ordered 3 drinks each, one of which I was poured and did not ask for. Until the service matches the sophistication of the space, this restaurant will struggle to keep diners coming back.
