While a majority of my visits to any/all Daiso Japan stores result in me walking away empty handed, this one was exceptionally different. Staff were kind & snacks were plentiful. My daughter and I found ourselves so entertained that we ended up walking away with a pretty decent haul. The service was poor. The casher refused to ring us up and asked us to use the Self checkout. We had about 10 items and just pointed to the self checkout. As we were ringing up our items for checkout she asked people to enter her line and proceeded to ring them up. Another customer appeared like she had at least 15 items. She rang up two customers before we finished. She could have rang us up. The store itself had misplaced items .. I was looking for the picture frames but could not find them so to the frames being covered by go backs and misplaced items. They did not have anyone walking the floor, the service at the register was poor and unexpected and the floors and upkeep could be better. read more

I love Daiso! This is my favorite location near me. Daiso is essentially like the Japanese dollar store - they have so many cute items for between $1.75 and $5.00. I love buying cheap sponges (and they're really good quality!), seasonal decorations (I once purchased the office Halloween decorations here - and got sooooo many cute streamers, tablecloths, table displays, etc. for under $35 total), and much more. They also have nice makeup wipes (rose water and coconut water ones) for only $2. (And they're made in Korea! We all know the Korean beauty standards.) I've also purchased a few face sheets here (aloe, charcoal, green tea, rose, etc.). Love browsing in this store! Especially when I'm at teh Great Mall. So convenient to just walk into the store. I almost always go here when I'm at the Great Mall (just since I can go so much stuff! And I am always bound to find something I like). I've also been to a few other locations in the Bay Area (i.e. Fremont, Union City, and Mountain View) - but I like this one the most since it's in the Great Mall. I will note their aisles are a bit narrow, and it's not as spacious as the Fremont store. But still. Always a fun time browsing at Daiso! Daiso is one of my favorite low cost stores. Most things cost $1.50 (unless prices otherwise) and they have a wide variety of merchandise. However, this Daiso location is on the smaller side and has a limited selection: that is the only reason for the 3- star rating. Service: The employees at this location are so nice! They are always willing to help you when they are walking around on the floor. And the cashiers are so nice and greeting. Location: This Daiso is located in the Great Mall right next to Hot Topic. Be aware that there is no service inside the store. So if you need any web pages loaded or need to send a text, try to do it before you go into the store. Products: They have really great deals here! I would recommend stocking up on some household supplies. I always stock up on sponges and some kitchen utensils when I go. read more

I did notice something changed in their food section shelves were not well stocked as one would see. Daiso always gets my attention whenever I found them in the shopping mall. Some big, some very tiny! This one in the Grant Mall is the right size for me. It also carries everything or little more than most of the Daiso I found in the Sacramento area. The store is very well organized and more of the common items from Daiso are available here. The store is located in the less crowded section of the Great Mall. It gives me a better shipping experience than some of the super crowded Daiso in the San Francisco Bay Area. read more

Daiso is what you get when you cross Hello Kitty with Dollar Tree. In this store with a cutesy atmosphere, you'll find thousands of Japanese-branded items including kitchen utensils, dishes, cleaning products, toys, school supplies, makeup, greeting cards, snacks and more. Some items are made in Japan, though many are made in China. Items here are generally useful and are priced reasonably at $1.50 and up. Most items aren't labeled with a price, meaning that they're the default price of $1.50 - so there are lots of good deals to be had. There used to be a minimum charge for credit cards, but that is being waived now due to the pandemic and the national coin shortage. So use that plastic freely! read more

I was here today and I had the worst customer service that I have ever had from the guy at the register named Dion. I had a basket full of items and when he saw my basket, he made it known that he was so annoyed that he had to scan the items (boohoo, that is your job) and he extremely rudely and angrily kept grabbing my items out of my basket and scanning them and throwing them into my bag. I even offered to help him and he ignored me. He made me extremely upset by acting this way. Dion, this is clearly not the job for you if you cannot even simply scan items without having a temper tantrum. read more

Who doesn't love a good dollar store, let alone a Japanese one? The items range from all across the board. Stationery, candy, kitchen ware, clothing, organizers... Everything is $1.50 or above but nothing is more than a few dollars. You can find some good deals in here. I picked up a couple of plastic washi tape holders/ dispensers. Definitely regret not getting more. It's located inside of the Great Mall so you'll have to fight the mall crowd to even get inside. The aisles can be a bit narrow with a lot of people inside. Definitely recommend perusing the whole store if you don't mind some impulse buys. Or you just might miss a cool little find. read more

I must thank my LA friends for introducing me to the wonders of Daiso! This is like a Japanese 99 Cents Only Store! However, most items are $1.50 unless marked otherwise. There are so many cute things here - notebooks, bowls, mugs, plastic containers, socks, tote bags, hair accessories, cords for iPhones, etc. I got so many gifts and a few things for myself - yay! Thanks to Kenneth K. and Karen K. of Sacramento for bringing me here! We don't have Daiso nor 99 Cents Only Stores in Hawaii! No Dollar Tree either! I told Karen and Ken that I had never been to San Jose before, so they thought that this Great Mall in Milpitas would be a good shopping mall to visit because Daiso is here - excellent choice! Per my check in at Cataldi Park several hours ago - I am not worthless. My feelings matter. Repeat. I am worthy. My feelings do matter. I have been doing poorly in all fields of my life: emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. The financial aspect of it will be recovered soon as it looks like my car will be fixed tomorrow. I am thankful but my savings dwindled because of it. I have not been feeling well and the flu (day #3) doesn't look promising due to lack of sleep. It is almost 2AM and although I am exhausted, I cannot seem to fall asleep. I hate pills and try to avoid them at all costs but I wished for some sleeping pills now. My escape used to be the gym but lately my escape is when I fall into a sleep trance. I have to stop neglecting myself and that was why I came here this past Sunday. I see the check ins for Daiso and I have read reviews for Daiso and while I try my best to look halfway decent, I was lacking a lot - makeup-wise. I feel dull and plain is because I really am dull and plain. I do not know anything about makeup even after watching YouTube videos, I just can't seem to look glamorous. After a lengthy email about the different types of makeup and brands to use and after realizing that lashes are meant for everyday usage rather than special occasions, I went out of my way to get the lashes (cheap for practicing); seriously, that was when the flu bug hit me. I managed to make my way out of the mall and sped home safely to collapse in bed. Ugh. The store is small compared to Eastridge and New Park. The lines get extremely long and I don't think they factored in where the line should be because we were deep into the aisle. The guy said the aisle cannot be blocked but dude, where else can the 20 people in front of me and the 10 in back of me stand? The usual cute stuff, both useful and useless and I still catch myself wanting kitchen stuff (not cookware) but I love Tupperware and I love chopsticks even though it has been awhile since I have used them. I saw Christmas items for 50% off but I stayed away... Christmas was a stressful time for me. Thank cupcakes the holidays are over. So this is my game plan: no matter how I feel, regardless of my flu status, I will hit the gym Thursday and will put on a pair of lashes. I'm 30 and this will be my 3rd time w/ lashes and those 3x were done professionally (courtesy of MAC). I miss making money and paying for convenience. I am Tram. I am stubborn. I am not ugly. STORE: This is one of my favorite stores located in the Great Mall and one of my most feared stores because they have the coolest stuff at cheap prices it's easy to want to buy everything! Stuff is organized on shelves by categories. I see staff throughout the store in different aisles putting more inventory up on the shelves LINES: Whenever I'm in this store the line is pretty long, and I can see why because this store has the coolest stuff at great prices. MERCHANDISE: I don't know where to start to list the array of cool stuff they sell here at $1.50 or less or a little more. I took so many photos as a note to remind myself that when I need a certain something to come back here for it and buy it. This store is awesome for gifts whether for birthdays, gag gifts, stocking stuffers, Christmas, you name it. I even kicked myself for some cheap stuff I saw here that I bought somewhere else for more money. FAV MERCHANDISE: -sewing thread and other sewing equipment -smart phone touch screen gloves. I bought ones like these for nearly $10 online that weren't as good as the ones here. There is a reason why this place has such a high rating. Good stuff on the cheap with a Japanese flavor. Can't go wrong with that! My GF and I bought a bunch of stuff at really cheap prices. Pretty much everything is $1.50. Some things are less, and some are more, but almost everything is $1.50. It's pretty much the Japanese dollar store! store was big but employee was super rude. i was in line and because i left my wallet at home i had to make sure to ask if they accept apple pay. i was right in front of the line almost face to face with the employee and i asked him loud and clear "excuse me do you accept apple pay" he ignored me and i asked again but of course this time i gave him a more assertive tone & he slowly looked up, mugged me and shook his head. overall it made me left the store even if my bf was coming with some cash because of the nasty attitude. read more

This is an OK Daiso located in the very crowded and chaotic Great Mall in Milpitas. There is a wide variety of household goods for $1.50 at Daiso, unless priced as marked. I like their kitchen goods, and I really like their pore cleanser stickers that you put on your face. Some of the items are kind of janky so stay clear of those but most of the items here are pretty good. EDIT: I believe Daiso now accepts credit card with no minimum now. But back in 2014, this happened to me: I bought a few items and the total came to $4.89. They refused to let me use my credit card since it wasn't over $5 for the minimum limit. I think most places if you're within a few cents of the minimum let you use the credit card so I was a bit miffed. Just keep that in mind if you have no cash and you're just buying a few items. This store is not terribly large and it's ALWAYS crowded. The line stretches quite far. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this Daiso but if I'm in the area, sure why not. read more

I must have missed this the first three times at the mall. At $1.50 for most items, I can find many things I like, especially having bought some shelves and rice bowls to put in my kitchen. They had some ramen bowls and those were $4.00 each and I couldn't decide exactly how much capacity they had, so I held off buying them, but they looked good, especially compared to $6.99 - $12.99 for similar bowls. I like this location at Great Mall, rather than going to Hayward, and it's a bit closer for me than the store at Eastridge Mall. read more

I have been to about 9 different Daiso's throughout California, and the one at the Great Mall is the smallest and most disorganized. There are boxes on the floor everywhere filled with unstocked items--I can't help but wonder if the desk organizers or brow pencils I hunt for, that are never "in stock", are actually in those boxes! +__+ Also, they make it hard to walk through the aisles and grab things on shelves. Being located in a mall brings in a lot of business for them, but that also means super long lines FYI. I recommend going on a weekday if you can help it. Other than that you can't beat $1.50! My product recommendations: -triangle-tipped brow pencils -hyaluronic acid sleeping pack -facial cotton -stackable desk organizers (Muji dupe!) -mugs with lids products I don't recommend: -the snacks. Eh. My least favorite Daiso in South Bay... the only real convenience is that it's located inside the Great Mall and it's the closest Daiso to me. Being located inside inside a mall, this location is a lot smaller than other locations and doesn't seem to be as well stocked as the others. I always have a 50/50 chance of finding the item I want here. Especially in the food aisle - I usually come to Daiso to get dried seaweed, miso paste, potato starch, and dashi stock. I've never been here on a day where I can find all these items at once. Same goes for the medium size dish washing gloves or any variety in their slipper sizes. Oh well. It's also super cluttered or under stocked on the weekends or weekday evenings... items will be out on shelves, or random misplaced items all around. The convenience of its location draws crowds which can make the store pretty messy. At least items here are so cheap. read more

Really loved them bento boxes along with all the Japanese home made products. There's a lot of kitchenware sets, gifts and assortment of snacks and drinks. These are the ones I really like and not available at the Dollar store. Parking here is not as bad as the one in San Jose though the mall can be crowded with so many shops packed together. read more

I LOVE going to Daiso Japan! Everytime I go to California, I have to go to Daiso. They have the coolest things there and they are all $1.50. The last time I went there I found really cool night lights that recharge on their own. I love there little paper products, lingerie bags, rayon kitchen towels, cute little bento boxes, ceramic dishes, folding fans, kitchen gadgets and do-dads in general. I was so excited when i saw they reopened in the great mall. This one is right next door to Hot Topic by the movie theater entrance. Pretty large store with so many cute things. One could spend hours just looking at the goodies. Since its new.. everything is very organized and displayed nicely. Lines can get long but they seem to have enough staff to speed things up.
