I purchased a kitchen appliance online and it was on sale. When I received the shipment, the appliance wasn't in the plastic bag of the box. When I opened up the lid of the appliance, it smelled like food and there was food residue still in the pot. Disgusting!! I returned it at the store and they gave me a refund instead of an exchange as there were none available. I asked if they can order online and have it shipped to me and they said I could do that on my own. But then I asked if I would still be honored the sales price. They told me that I would have to call and ask. So I contacted Target and was told that they would give me $10 towards a future purchase. That wouldn't be the sales price, I'd still be paying more. This specific Target location has had its share of ups and downs. We go because it's close to home and have what we need for the most part. They have items locked up and it takes a million years for someone to come unlock and give us the the items we need. I'd suggest doing a pick up for those items because it eliminates the wait time. With that being said, this review is for the Starbucks barista that took our order this morning. She was very sweet and I enjoyed her recommendation to try the Iced Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte. We were on the hunt for Christmas mini stockings embroidered with letters since they don't have them online and you have to get them in stores. Well we decided to try out this Target. L O C A T I O N This Target is located in a fairly large plaza that used to have an Island Pacific. It feels a bit abandoned though there are a few smaller stores around. There's a large parking lot though most of the closer spots are taken, you can at least park a little further and walk over. I guess with the Island Pacific it might have been more crazy but since it's closed, it's a little easier to find parking. I N S I D E It feels like a typical Target as most have said. There's self check out which is nice. The layout in every Target is similar but different...if you know what I mean. S T O C K We felt that that stock here was plentiful which is nice. We were searching specifically for Christmas stuff which all seasonal stuff is generally in the back corner so you have to walk through most of the store to get to it. We also were trying to find very specific packaged promotion of Doritos, Rockstar and/or Mountain Dew which they didn't have but I knew it might be difficult S E R V I C E While we were searching for stuff, an employee did ask us if we needed to find something which was kind of nice cause he didn't have to ask but he did! We did pay at the self check out which is always convenient. O V E R A L L A nice little Target and I'm sure it's nice to have one in the neighborhood to get some things you need here and there. Disappointed by One Store, Helped by Another. Inconsistent Return Experience. I recently tried to return multiple new and unopened Blink cameras bundles to this Target store, all well within the return window and with valid receipts. The total value was around $400, and everything was sealed. Adam, an employee at the return counter, began processing the return without any issue. But then another employee, Alyssa, stepped in and abruptly shut it down. Now, both Adam and Alyssa are refusing to process the scanned returns. Reason for return: Change of mind due to new model of blink cameras that came out and we prefer that one. Same with the speakers that we were gonna return (they didn't scan these at all). She claimed they don't accept high-value electronics unless they were purchased at that specific store, which was shocking since Target's return policy says returns can be processed at any location as long as you have proof of purchase. She told me she could "make an exception" for one item only and refused to take the rest, saying I'd have to drive back to the store I originally bought them from (an hour away as I bought it when I visited family). When I asked if I could return more items separately, she firmly said no. Confused and frustrated, we went to another Target nearby, just 10 minutes away and they processed the full return without any issue at all. We've always shopped at Target because of the flexibility and convenience their return policy promises, especially when buying electronics. This experience made us feel like we were doing something wrong even though we followed every rule: brand new, sealed products, valid receipts, and within the stated return timeframe. It's incredibly frustrating that Target's return policy seems to be enforced based on personal bias or familiarity, rather than the actual guidelines. We were turned away for reasons not supported by their official return policy, which made the experience feel unfair and even personal. I hope Target provides better consistency and additional training so customers aren't turned away when they're simply trying to follow store policy. read more

I ordered online kid multivitamin gummies from Target on 2155 Morrill Ave San Jose, CA 95132. However, the merchandize I ended up getting is completely not consumable, maybe due to conditions under which they were kept, all the gummies inside all turned into one big lump, with some even leaking out of the lid, the lid is stuck in place, I had to use a screw driver to pry it open to see how bad it is. I expect more from Target, the most basic visual check would have prevented such merchandize from shipping out, I don't know what else went bad in their warehouse and I'm sure this isn't just one isolated incident. read more

A very clean store and it was the only Target in the area that had the items I was looking for. There was even a Disney store inside. It was super easy to get what I wanted, pay and leave. I've never had an issue with any target drive up/ pick up until the other night April 8th, I had a drive up order to pick up, a store associate came to confirm my order and said he'll come back, and with no sense of urgency walked back to the front of the store and was standing outside with his peer smoking a joint, walks back inside and still waiting, he comes back outside to meet some more of his co-workers all wearing orange vests and all passing around the doobie, I had to call them to let them know I was still waiting, a different guy comes and apologizes and asks if it was him who missed my order and I said no it was the other kid. I called to speak with a manager afterwards and ask if this is how they run their store and keep their people accountable because the amount of time I waited was ridiculous and shouldn't have taken more than 10 minutes and given that it was late at night it wasn't that busy and I understand they got other tasks but come on smoking a joint on the job but get your crap together and hire people with good customer service. I visited this store in the afternoon and had a great experience. Compared to the other North San Jose location, this one is smaller but it was well-organized. Avoid this Target at all costs. Morrill used to be better than Capitol Target but now it's worse. The lack of staff at registers has been an issue for months and nothing has been done. The self checkout isn't any better. Not all self checkout registers are working. If assistance is needed, there is no employee available to assist. The one star is for drive up-pick up. That is at least efficient. I suggest going to Walgreens for items that can be found at Target. The lines will be shorter. read more

I like how bright this store is and the different merch that this store has in comparison to the one back home. The people who work here aren't the friendliest but at least I was able to figure out where things were in this store. Staff seem so unhappy and some seem like they really hate their jobs. There was one person who sent me on a literal wild goose chase looking for a toothbrush. One person told me to look along the back wall where the travel items were and another told me to look beyond where the kids oral care wall display was. Umm, you were both kinda wrong but I was able to figure it out. I wasn't so asily able to find the items that I was looking for but, once again, I managed. Parking was easy, luckily. Target has been a plus during this covid season. From day 1 they were organized in how they ran limited capacity, provided signs outside if they were out of anything before you went in. Earlier on they had lines as needed outside to adhere to capacity. They also wiped down the check out area in-between customers. It was comforting that they actually followed protocol. The staff is friendly and wears masks and gloves at check out and they provide hand sanitizer there and as you walk inside the store. There is always staff at check out that is helping coordinate any lines that start to grow to enforce social distancing. This store has re-organized some of the store, and it looks nice! It is clean and upgraded. They are also good about ordering online and drive up pick up. They've been great to work with. I've always been a fan of Target and i'm glad that they've stepped up to the plate during the pandemic. read more

I had a bad experience again for shopping in this Target. My daughter and I were trying on some clothes on 9/15/2024 around 5-6pm (Sunday). The employee was very rude to us and were trying so hard to avoid doing her job. She kept on harassing me and even locked all 5 dressing rooms so 3 customers have to wait in line for my dressing room. So I addressed this issue to the store manager David. David didn't care to come to talk to me. Another employee Isabel told me this was what they had been doing. Locked all the dressing room when they are short-staff. So she was trying to tell me, the employee can spend the time to harass me and locked all the 5 other dressing rooms instead of helping other customers who weee waiting in line because they were short-staffed. Well I guess this Target wanted all customers not to come here so they can avoid doing their job and be relax. I don't know if it's this Target but customer service is always lacking. Whenever I go here, I always try to avoid talking to the workers because of their lack of knowledge, generosity, attention, and helpfulness. As a former retail worker myself, I always do above and beyond for my customers. I'm not saying every employee doesn't, but it seems like some need more training in customer service. Usually the workers are so nice here but today was not the day.. the cashier ignored me after I greeted her and rolled her eyes at me. She did it another 10 times after that. She spoke Spanish but when I said I'm sorry I don't speak Spanish, she rolled her eyes again and spoke under her breath mumbling Spanish. I'm Hispanic, it's honestly so conflicting when other Hispanics judge me for not speaking the language.
