A really nice Japanese woman named Kat checked me out at the end and she was so nice and happy and we chatted up a storm as she rung me up.. most everything there is $1.50. Great source for bento accessories! Great source for arts and craft supplies! Great prices! It's extremely easy to get sucked into this place and end up buying a lot of cheap junk, especially when you have a 4 year old with you who gets easily distracted by bright and colorful cutesy items - he seemed particularly enamored by the large selection of food erasers, holographic tape, and golden skulls (for halloween). Every Daiso I go to is better than the last. But I don't know if any subsequent location will beat this one. Once you enter, you're welcomed by vibrant lighting and vivid product placement. Everything in this place is more captivating than everything in any other Daiso, and I don't know how they do it! I stopped by a few days ago looking for some batteries, but was so distracted by how organized and bright everything else was... And was a bit frustrated that there was no staff at all on the floor to assist customers and only one staff member in the front doing checkout. That's really the only factor that prevents me from giving 5 stars. read more

I have frequented Daiso in San Francisco's Japantown at the Miyako Mall. This Daiso is quite a bit smaller than that, and the selection seems geared more towards what 'American shoppers' might want, rather than what a Daiso might normally carry. Buyer beware!!! They have a NO RETURNS NO EXCHANGE policy here!! They also don't want you to open their packages!! Well then how are you supposed to check out a product if you can't take it out?? My very first time coming into Daiso Japan and I was very impressed. The store was so immaculate and clean. There are so many items in the store it took me an hour to walk and see everything. I needed help looking for a certain container, and the employee that works there was very eager to help, the gentleman who helped me, walked with me until we found the item. I was expecting attitude from the young employees who work there, but I was proven wrong! I've been back twice since my first visit! Very pleasant environment and very pleasant employees! read more

This is the 99 cent store Asian equivalent for Americans. They have a great selection of home goods, kitchen items, cleaning good/tools, glassware, tupperware etc. NOTE: They do not accept returns/exchanges but given the price point here only hard core "cost-cutters" would attempt as much. read more

Came to this location after dinner to see if they had a snack in stock that hasn't been in stock at the Irvine location the last 2 visits. Pleased to say they had it in stock! After browsing the entire store, I'll have to say I like this location better than the one in Irvine! There was a better selection of stuff, all of the shelves had nice backlighting, and there were definitely less people crowding up the aisles. Plus they had an Adventure Time/Regular Show figurine dispenser (the ones you put quarters in to get your prize) that the Irvine location stopped carrying. Will be back soon! read more

It has lots of cute items that one cannot find in most gift shops. My grandkids loves the food erasers and little toys. Maybe at least a quarter of the items can be found in the Dollar store, so I will check the Dollar store first, because most of the items in Daiso is at least a dollar and fifty cents. Don't buy the house slippers because they are made from cheap fabric. Nevertheless, they have the best asian snacks like shrimp chips. Overall it is a very cute asian store with a lot of cute stuff. read more

I try to be particular about what I get, making sure it's useful to me and not just buying things because it's cute. Otherwise, I can eventually end up hoarding a lot of useless junk lol read more

This place is so addictive. Great resource for cheap and cute stationary, household items, arts and craft supplies, and other miscellaneous things you always seem to need (read: want) the second you walk into Daiso. I'll be honest, though. The bright florescent lighting and occasionally obnoxious pop music can make you dizzy, but hey, maybe that's a clever strategy to get you into a zombie-like trance while shopping. I had to dock this particular location a point though, because, as other commenters have said, this location doesn't have as much as others so their selection isn't the best. But other than that, one of the best places to get stationary. read more

This branch is way bigger than the Irvine branch but it looks like they just have more stock of each individual item over several shelves, not much more variety. It has a taller ceiling too. However, it does not have a public restroom. Like other branches, they sell mostly $1.50 merchandise and any that is not will be properly labeled. They don't have that confusing "cash or credit" separate line system at the Irvine branch, it's all one line. Like the one in Irvine, we cleared out the inventory of one item here before and they didn't restock it for a long period of time. None of the employees here have been grouchy to us so far here. read more

Unlike some other areas of OC, this Daiso is the only one for miles. It is located in a fairly large shopping center that unfortunately does not have as much parking as it probably should. It isn't the largest store or had the best selection of the Daisos I've been to but it is nice to have a Daiso store nearby when staying in the southern part of OC. read more

Good to drop by every few months and make spontaneous buys. Fun place and good deals. It does bug me that they charge 20 cents for a paper bag. It's not the money- but it feels like they are squeezing the customer. But I guess they could lose a lot if the average customer buys $15 worth of stuff per visit read more

I love shopping here. I find most of their items cute. I buy some of their garden items, stationery set, kitchen items. The quality is pretty good if not sturdy. They accept card for charges $10 or more. No returns or exchanges. read more

I love Daiso! Almost everything is $1.50 unless otherwise stated (but everything is pretty much under $5). I go here for my Asian snacks and green tea, as well as whenever I need to buy gift wrapping paper or gift bags. Also, they have tons of containers for any kind of use possible! read more

Can't complain...I mean...it's Daiso! How can you go wrong? I think the only thing I didnt like about this particular Daiso was the size...i've been to ones that are MUCH larger and had a better layout than this one...this one is nice and clean though and the staff were nice and helpful...and luckily I wasn't waiting in a mile long line...saw some cute things and always gotta love the low price. Who doesn't love Daiso?! 99% of the store's merchandise are $1.50!! I come here all the time during my lunch break to pick up cute stationary and gift boxes. I disagree with paying over $2 for gift wrapping accessories so I get all of my gift wraps, boxes, bows, cards and tissue papers here. It's like the 99 Cent store but better and cuter! The store is not crowded and they carry fun Asian snacks. I love Daiso! read more

Very good stuff, specially organizers, sonó good dishes, (no for microwave) but good soup bowls, household detergents and cleansing stuff.

The only downside indeed but worth it, a very cool place and has a lot of stuff you'd pay double for anywhere else. Pretty good quality too! This place is simply awesome in so many ways. You could come in and end up walking around the store for hours staring at all the little useful products they come up with. I thought I would be spending very little money, but wow I ended up spending a lot (it adds up!). The store is very well kept, clean, and organized. The product display always changes so it's always a pleasure to come back . Oh yeah, the service here is bar none top notch. Ever since I had discovered Daiso from a friend, my sister and I could not stop shopping for the soda, candy, and other snacks. Everything is super cheap compared to other dollar stores.
