Apparently, this location does not do exchanges. Instead, they require you to completely return…read moreyour original purchase and then make a separate purchase in a new transaction. As someone who shops at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods almost every week, I was honestly surprised by this policy. I don't understand why a simple exchange needs to be turned into two separate transactions. It came across as more of an unwillingness to help than an actual customer service solution. This policy can also be a major inconvenience for customers who are on a budget and cannot afford to temporarily spend additional money. If your refund takes time to go back onto your card, you still need to come up with additional money on the spot to purchase the replacement items. Not everyone has extra cash available to essentially pay twice while waiting for their original purchase to be refunded. I spoke with the manager, Jerry, who confirmed that this location does not do exchanges and that their policy is to process a return first and then have the customer make a completely new purchase. What made the experience even more disappointing was the way the situation was handled. The interaction felt rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable just a straightforward exchange and some basic customer service. As a loyal and frequent TJ Maxx and HomeGoods customer, I expected much better customer service and professionalism from this location. A simple exchange should not become a financial inconvenience for the customer. Very disappointing experience.

Hands down, the BEST staff is here at AV. We've been here multiple times, each with different employees, and they've all been so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. They even allowed us to buy the open stock for the blind boxes and were happy to try to find the packaging in the back. Though the store IS small, it's a lot easier to find the hard-to-find or popular items. My kids recently wanted a series that came out several months ago and they still had a few boxes here whereas every other store is sold out. They're super enthusiastic about checking the back for you if there's something you want that's not out. We've been to the larger locations, such as Tustin, but the greater foot traffic also means things get sold out a lot quicker.

The rudest manager I have ever encountered here…read more My cousin, my aunt, and I came into the store around 9:05 PM, well before the store's 9:30 PM closing time. My cousin purchased a phone case, and as we were walking out after paying, we noticed some squishies near the exit. We briefly squeezed them and continued walking out. The manager immediately looked at our hands as if she suspected we were stealing, despite the fact that she was standing right in front of us and had watched us pay for our purchase. It was extremely uncomfortable and made us feel like we were being treated as criminals for absolutely no reason. Then, once we got into the car, my cousin realized that she had accidentally purchased the wrong size phone case. Since it was only around 9:20 PM, she wanted to quickly go back inside to exchange it. Instead of simply helping her with the exchange, the manager immediately started yelling at my aunt and cousin, insisting that they were closed, even though the posted closing time was 9:30 PM. This caused my aunt to become upset and yell back. What made the situation even worse was the manager's attitude throughout the entire interaction. She had the nerve to yell at my aunt and then, when my aunt told her that she was going to leave a bad review because of her behavior, the manager essentially laughed about it with her employee. She was clearly not embarrassed or concerned about how she had treated us. If anything, she seemed to be mocking the fact that a customer was upset enough to complain. The employee working there clearly seemed uncomfortable and embarrassed by the situation and appeared to feel bad about the way his manager was treating us. He was put in an extremely awkward position because of her behavior. I completely understand that employees want to leave on time and that closing procedures take time. However, there is absolutely no reason to yell at customers, treat them like they are stealing, or mock them for expressing that they are unhappy with the service they received. The entire interaction was extremely unprofessional and unnecessary. I have never experienced customer service this rude at this location, and based on the manager's reaction to being told that a bad review would be left, it seems like she genuinely does not care how she treats customers. I hope management above her takes this complaint seriously and addresses her behavior because clearly she's a huge PROBLEM!

I stopped in Earthbound fairly close to closing one evening expecting to browse for a few minutes,…read moreand I ended up having such a positive experience with Hannah, the store manager, that I specifically wanted to write about it. From the beginning, Hannah was doing about five things at once. She was helping several customers, answering questions, sweeping and cleaning, keeping track of merchandise, and working through closing responsibilities. What stood out was that none of that translated into making me feel hurried. I actually became self-conscious when I realized how late it was and worried I was keeping her there. Hannah reassured me and continued helping me with exactly the same patience. I can be very particular about clothes once I start trying things on. I was explaining which fabrics I like, why certain styles don't work with my shoulders, that I prefer flowy silhouettes and longer wide-leg pants, and that I wanted things I would realistically feel comfortable wearing. Instead of treating all of that like I was being difficult, Hannah used it. Every time I explained why something wasn't working, she refined what she recommended next. She helped me find wide-leg cotton pants that were so comfortable I asked her to remove the tag because I wanted to keep them on. When I couldn't figure out the unusual construction of a black wrap top, she patiently showed me exactly how it worked and talked about how she styles the same piece herself. She also helped me find a beautiful purple dress that turned out to be incredibly adjustable and versatile once I got home and experimented with it. One of my favorite parts of the visit was rediscovering Earthbound's preserved butterfly displays. I bought a larger one from another Earthbound years ago during a really happy memory in my life, and I still own it today. Seeing them again immediately brought that memory back. Hannah knew the product well enough to answer my questions about the butterflies and explain what she understood about how they are sourced and preserved. I chose a smaller wooden frame with two unusual butterflies, and before I even had to think about carrying such a delicate piece around the store, she offered to put it safely at the register for me while I continued shopping. That little interaction probably sums up Hannah best: she notices things and handles them before they become a problem. I also found a Moon-themed botanical tote that happened to be the last one. By the end I had purchased the butterfly frame, tote, pants, wrap top, and dress. That sounds like an extremely successful sales job, but it didn't feel like I had been "sold" anything. It felt like somebody paid enough attention to understand what I actually liked. Even after closing time, Hannah was still patient, professional, and kind while continuing to take care of the store. It was obvious to me that she has substantial experience with Earthbound because she knew the merchandise, understood how the clothing actually fit and functioned, knew the story behind different products, and was completely on top of what was happening around her. A really good manager can make all of that work look easy, which probably means customers don't always notice how much effort is happening in the background. I noticed. Hannah is an asset to this store, and I genuinely hope Earthbound recognizes her for it.
