I LOVE Daiso! This was my first time at this location and was really impressed by the selection. I love how everything is organized by category (and cuteness). They have many unique items that you won't find anywhere else and usually for a good price (some things are a little over priced though). My friend insisted on coming here while we were in the area. Their selection is more or less as plentiful as the branch in Lake Forest, as when we checked out the branches in Irvine and Tustin they did not have the same inventory and lacked the item that she was looking for there. Either way, we got what she wanted. They had a self checkout, which we used to pay. It went fast when I was able to use it correctly, but I'm so clumsy these days that I'm starting to prefer having a human cashier do all the work. I came in here to look for a ponytail bands and found more than I could ever dream of! Every size and color and design to make your hair look so pretty. I did self check out which was super easy. It is nice to have a Daiso near home. The store is bright and always stocked with many daily household gadget and items. We come by to pickup some Japanese snacks and would usually end up shopping around for some miscellaneous items. Items are priced based on the sticker price in Japanese yen. You can find the conversion charts posted around the store. The staff is usually walking around to restock and clean the store. They always remind us that the purchases are not refundable. read more

What a cool little store. Most if not all the items are imported from Japan and China. The products are unique and often you will find something that you can't find elsewhere. The prices are dirt cheap and some of the products are good deals. We were curious and bought a few items as the store is relatively new at that location and nextdoor to the new Ranch Market. After having lunch at Marugame Udon, we stopped by the nearby Daiso Japan in Aliso Viejo. It's a new store, and everything looked fresh and well-organized. The space was clean and easy to browse. Daiso is now open in Aliso Viejo. I stopped by this morning as the first 100 people to spend $30 received a free tote bag with goodies inside. The store was quite large and clean. There are a lot of items to peruse. They sell ceramics, small home goods, Asian snacks, stickers, gift wrap, accessories, and more. Everything is priced very cheaply as Daiso is considered a "dollar"-type store. My husband and I picked up some more ceramic bowls, tongs, a phone strap, gummy candy, a small collapsible plastic bowl, and a grill plate. We checked out at $31 so we received the Daiso Aliso Viejo tote bag with Daiso goodies. Mission accomplished. Welcome to the neighborhood, Daiso! read more

I agree with another reviewer below. Buyer beware No refunds No exchanges!! Even if their product is defective. They have this policy because their items are cheap. I bought something and noticed it was broken as soon as I got home. I took it back thinking they could do a quick exchange for a defective product, but the teenage manager had the nerve to tell me how does she know I didn't break it and bring it back! Really?!!! Always new products coming in here... This is my favorite store for office supplies and a lot MORE. I picked up a silver wire mesh pen cup to replace a bulkier fabric one. Additionally, I noticed a heavy-duty black plastic book stand that I could use to hold my manila file folders of current writing projects and story ideas. I bought a thinner rendition here not long ago for the same purpose, but this looks a lot more durable, so I upgraded. read more

Interesting little store of Japanese stuff(?). It is hard to explain, but it is like a convenience store and home goods combo spot, I was killing a little time and wandered in to check it out, and I found the sushi rice seasoning I usually buy from Mitsawa, so I picked some up, but they also have Japanese snacks, beauty products, sodas, pots, pans, small appliances... Maybe it is an extension of a type of store you find in Japan (I have not been), but for me it is akin to a very small Target, centered on Japanese products. read more

The worse experience ever, I can't not believe the worker's attitude there. We got an umbrella there and I told her to help me throw away the plastic wrap, she said she is not a lot to throw away anything. It's raining outside and it's a purchase from the store. First off, they are selling hose nozzles that don't fit a standard garden hose. I wanted to return it, the manager said I couldn't. I asked how can you sell something that doesn't fit a standard hose. None of the hose nozzles they have do. When talking to the girl at the register, she said that other customers tried to return it also. I asked the manager how can they sell something that doesn't work here in the U.S. on a standard garden hose. She said somebody can use it, just not you. I suggested that they pull them off their shelves. She said that they have customer that come in from all other countries that may want it. I said sure, there coming in for a hose nozzle to bring back to there country. This is the type of managers they hire now a days. The cashier at the register was more help and understood about the nozzle and she should be the manager. I walked out pissed. read more

Terrible evening manager at the Aliso store. Normally my family and I love this place. But we unfortunately have encountered an unstable, rude manager named "Tamoko" several times who is always extremely nasty to the customers. She has rolled her eyes and snapped at me and my wife on several occasions, and we have watched her to do it to many other customers as well. On this last occasion, I heard her badmouthing other management personnel on her cell phone, stating, "Don't worry, no one will fire me because I'm the best one here. All the other managers suck." This was highly unprofessional to speak this in front of store customers! She seems mean-spirited and unprofessional and in dire need of training. Frankly, as a business owner, this girl is a Human Resources nightmare. Last week we saw "Tamoko" tell a woman to leave the store because she was staying too long, and the way "Tamoko" spoke to her was in such a rude and nasty way that I decided I needed to write this review so Daiso can look into the way this young woman manages this store. She is in dire need of re-training because she doesn't have the necessary skills required of a manager. In fact, she does not have ANY customer service skills at all! Other one-star reviews have mentioned her behavior as well for a reason. Daiso needs to take a good look at how Tamoko behaves because she seems like a ticking time bomb. I won't be back to this store until they either retrain this Tamoko person or get another evening manager who actually cares about customers and Daiso! read more
