Yay!!! Daiso is even closer!!!! I am giddy because the frugal girl in me loves finding all the little cute Asian knick knacks that clutter my home. $1.50 for almost everything inside the store. Some items like tea sets are $4.00 and some food items are $1.00. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I swear I could shop here for hours. This is one of the best places to find cheap gift wraps, make-up containers, storage goods, picture frames, cooking ware ,and etcs. The lay out of the store is sooooo cute! It makes me want to keep looking at all of the selections that they have in each aisle. I also really enjoy the music that they play in the store (either K-pop or J-pop). It gets me in the groove to shop (haha). The store makes me feel like I got a taste of Japan (: I really like this Daiso (in El Toro) because they do not split up the lines between cash or credit card. I have seen other Daiso stores where they split up their lines into cash or credit card (which makes some people a bit confused or they accidentally go into the wrong line). The only thing I do not like is their credit card system where you have to pay a minimum of $10 for a purchase (I know that not everyone carries cash around and only has credit card to pay). read more

After a HORRIBLE customer service experience yesterday, I won't return to this store. That's unfortunate, since the store is bright, cute and full of darling items for $1.50 or less. Back to my issue, I had purchased two reuse able Daiso shopping bags a few months ago along with several items. I realized that there was what looked to be a razor cut or small 1 inch defect on the bottom of the bag. Since I live in San Clemente, I wasn't able to return until over 30 days to exchange. The bag still had the tag attached and has never been used. I explained to the cashier the problem, asking to simply exchange my defective bag for the exact same bag w no tears. They had at least 30 hanging behind the register. She refused since they don't accept ANY returns and it was over 30 days. I asked for manager, and was told that she would be fired for giving me a new bag in exchange. Well, Daiso lost a customer over a $1 bag that should have been 'marked out of stock' as defective! So easily fixed, as I know- I was a retail store manager for over 10 years. read more

I have even purchased lashes from here... kitchen supplies, "forms" so your boots keep their shape while in the closet, Pocky! Remember those?!? My best find has been these pens that everyone at church almost literally hurts themselves over to get. Two four color and a pencil multifunction pens for one fitty! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. And no it's not because I'm asian. it's so cheap and everything in here is just so adorable. My mother showed me this place and they have very cute and handy kitchen stuff and gardening stuff. I got some things from this place for my new place such as a very cute trash can, baskets to hold my bathroom cleaning stuff and this little plastic handy holder where I can put my dishwashing soap and hand soap for my kitchen. So that its not just sitting on the granite. Everything here is made out of plastic I think that's why it is so cheap. Everything else that is not plastic and is glass is a little more than $1.50 but it's okay cause most are only around $2.50. The place is very clean and the customer service is on point. They are very nice and help you find whatever it is that you need. I got some pens since I love pens that don't write too thick, so I got the perfect kind for me and I literally got 5-6 for so cheap! I got a plastic cutting board that is very lightweight so that when I wash it its not this bulky heavy thing I'm carrying around, its super cute too because its a frog with a cute face. I love love pandas and they had very cute panda figurines here. I got a glass panda cup thing that looked like a teacup but I ended up using it as a pencil holder and it worked perfectly. I am definitely coming back here again to pick up a few things and it's perfect because when I'm back in town its very close to my parent's home. Daiso is the type of place you go to explore. I've gone here a few times with friends, but since we were in the area I decided to show my Mom around. She really liked it, we spent almost an hour in this store. Don't go inside expecting to just look around, you will find something and you will buy it. I've come in here multiple times saying to myself " I don't need anything" and then walked out of the place with a bag of stuff. So just be careful. That's basically what happened to my Mom, she said she just wanted to look, but we left with a few items. Mostly food of course. I love the snacks and beverages here, they're my favorite part about this place. It's a great place for gifts, especially gag ones, I normally shop here for friends because they all love this place. I'm really happy this one opened up on El Toro or I would have to drive all the way to Irvine for some awesome deals. The only reason I'm rating four stars instead of five is that the staff here aren't always the friendliest. I mean they're all right, just not the best. Love this store! One of my favorite things to buy here are greeting cards...they're $1.50! I could walk over to Ralph's and pay $5 for a card, but why? The price for all items is $1.50, unless otherwise marked. An example of something that's more would be the boogie board I bought my niece for $6!!! But 99% of the products here are $1.50, including beanies, socks, pots for plants, food items, a vast variety of office products, gift wrap, kitchen items and more. Wonderful Daiso store that I can't get enough of. The shelves are clearly marked and well organized. Store is super clean. I come in here at least once a week to check out any new offerings. Stationery lovers will adore their selection. Looking for cheap, interesting Japanese kitchenware? Look no further. Do you have small hands and struggle with jar lids? There is a nifty contraption that will open any jar. (Tried and tested.) They expanded their food section so it takes up 3 shelves instead of just 2. So many different japanese foodstuffs! I basically come here at least once a week to satisfy my Japanese goodie stocks~ :) I love this location since its bigger compared to other locations. Staff is super friendly and store is always clean. Items are always restocked and I never have trouble finding things. Too bad it's not $1 per item like Japan, but $1.99 is cheap for any item here! I just got back from spending an hour with store manager, Michel. I have worked with him in the past because I often go into the store to buy items to send overseas with Saddleback Church's Acts of Appreciation Military Outreach to lift up the spirits of our troops. This time I needed an extra 150 knit caps for the troops to open up at Christmas time. They put them under their helmets to keep their heads warm during the winter. Once again, Michel bent over backwards to go back into the warehouse and open up boxes that just came in. He found what I was needing and then took these two big boxes to my car and loaded them in for me. Kudos to Michel. BTW, If you find their shelves not fully stocked, don't worry. They aren't going out of business. They are just changing their distribution center (or something like that) from one part of the state to another. They have to hire new staff. I see this place everywhere in So Cal but never thought to check it out. I just got done eating dinner and was craving Pocky for some reason. These guys just happen to be in the same plaza so we walked over with the intention of only getting Pocky. Right. 45 bucks later we were trying to figure out what the hell just happened. Well, turns out this place is kind of like a 99 cent store where you end up getting things you need, sort of need, and just because. Most items here are $1.50. Some 2 bucks and I saw some that were 3. What we got? Yes we got 3 kinds of Pocky. They had like 8 different kinds. Of course we didnt wanna go overboard on Pocky so we ended up getting other things as well. Things like ear buds for my S6 which works decently (not bad for $1.50), body wash that actually smells good but does not lather very well compared to the shower gels from Bath and Body Works, plastic cereal bowls, and miscellaneous Hello Kitty items. I was hoping that they would have the different kinds of Kit Kat since they are a Japanese store but to no avail. Random info. There are no public bathrooms. No refunds, returns, or exchanges. They opened a Daiso in Lake Forest! They take credit cards and debit cards! There's a $10 minimum on credit cards but it can easily add up since 90% of the items in the store are $1.50 each. They have really great porcelain china sets. If you're looking for a sake set, they have it here. They also have some neat items for travel too. I bought some foot covers to put over my feet when I have to go through airport security. Would you want to walk over that carpet barefoot? Yeah, I bet you have and the thought of it is kind of gross. It's easy to lose track of what you spend in Daiso because everything is so cute. Just remember that everything is final sale. read more

Such a fun store. They have a little bit of everything and it's almost always $1.50. The store is brightly lit and the aisles have plenty of room. It's organized and I've never encountered even a little mess. Some of my coveted items are the face sheet masks (dude, they work, as well as the pricey ones from the expensive cosmetic stores), little jars that are perfect for organized storage, kitchen sponges, and pocky! I bought one of the largest reusable bags and somehow, every time I go in, it fills up. Was it a trap? I don't know. But I enjoy myself and and once I get the total, I know I'll be back because again, $1.50. Always friendly service and usually friendly customers. I am thrilled a Daiso opened up here, at this rate, I won't even have to make the 15 min trip to Irvine because everything is opening up down the street! With the J-Pop playing and the cutesy Asian nick-knacks, I feel like I'm temporarily transported into Japan! My sister and I picked up a couple Halloween headbands and everything is $1.50 so you can pick up random holiday decorations, household items, snacks, etc. I've seen people drop $50+ easy here, so don't get fooled by the price. $1.50 for some things is cheap, but if you're buying multiple items like cups or plates-- you may be better off buying sets elsewhere for cheaper. Let me start by saying I love Daiso when run properly. It's a cute Japanese discount store, where everything is $1.50 (unless otherwise marked). It's like a dollar store with Japanese/Chinese/Korean made small products. It ranges from cookware to small electronics to office supply to snacks and food. It's a great way to grab some everyday necessities for cheap. For example, I buy all my smartphone screen protectors from here, 'since they're $1.50 instead of $19.95 at Best Buy. They also sell car chargers and other phone related accessories. Now continuing with this review. This Daiso is severely understaffed. They lack the training and intuition to disregard staff scheduling and help their coworkers when in need. Prime example, having 1 register operator while there are 2 employees stocking shelves, doesn't make sense when the line has grown to bleed into the store. Another great example, don't answer phones and complete and an entire conversation before returning to the line of in-store customers anxiously waiting to pay for their items. Thankfully however, the staff was well-mannered and kept apologizing for the wait. This problem can easily be fixed with some help from management. I waited 40 minutes to purchase $6.00 worth of items. The items available and the cleanliness of the store met, if not, exceeded expectations. I would definitely check this place out, but check the foot traffic once you enter. If there's a long line to pay, it'd be better to come back again (or try the one in Irvine). read more

Daiso is a Japanese general budget store. They have a wide variety of items including home appliances, cooking equipment, car appliances, candy/beverages, and more. Usually when I come here it is for the candy/beverages and some minor cooking equipment like measuring cups and things like that. Everything is made in Japan so they sell items you may not be able to find in other general stores, which is cool. Some items are decent in quality while others are fairly cheap quality. The store is big in size so you will have to walk around and see for yourself on what you may need and judge the quality of those items. The customer service cashiers are nice, but there is no help around the store itself. Overall, if you haven't stopped by you should check it out and see if you find anything for yourself! read more

Although a tad smaller than it's sister store in Irvine, this Daiso is pinkalicious and full of random items you never thought you needed but will find yourself buying none the less. A microwaveable noodle maker, dim sum steamer, USB mini fans, nail polish, hats, baking pans, headphones, you name it, they most likely have it...for $1.50 (or otherwise marked haha). Cash only for purchases less than $10 and MC or Visa only for $10 or more. No returns so you'd better think twice before putting that noodle maker in your basket. I gave them 4 stars because when I stopped by today it was hot as hades in there. They claimed their AC unit was broken...yeah right! They have more than 1unit and I seriously doubt that the plaza they are located in would allow that. Sorry to say but I think they were just being cheap. I know that may not be fair of me marking them down a whole one star just for that and I have no proof, but hey...this is my opinion and I give them 4 stars. :-p I still love it there though and for sure I will be back and hopefully they will have their AC running cuz it really sucked having to shop inside a 90 degree store! read more
