When you drive here, you might wonder "where is the Dairy Queen? All I see is...an old gas station...that's turned into a thrift store..." Turns out the Dairy Queen is also in that building, the door is on the other side. It's a unique ambiance. I see low reviews for places like this...friends, this is a Dairy Queen. I got a hamburger, it's a lot like the hamburgers I remember from the school cafeteria. It's not great but what were we expecting? The prices are lower than at a lot of places, staff did a good job. Ice cream is classic DQ soft serve. And like I said, there's a thrift store right in the same building! read more

Food was so amazing and staff was so friendly! I have been to many Dairy Queen stores but this one undeniably had the best cheeseburger and fries of all. The store had a unique vintage-like vibe and had many clean tables. Loved eating here! read more

New management!!! Staff was phenomenal! So kind, friendly and helpful. Our ice cream was great! Come give it a second chance.

I sat at the speaker for over five minutes without being helped mind you there was no one in-front of me... I finally pulled up to the window there is at-least five people working. When this little brat with braces finally came to the window she just looked at me like I was stupid... as I asked if I could order cause I have been sitting at the speaker for over five minutes. She rolled her eyes and said in the nastiest tone I'm busy. So I drove off and took my business somewhere else. I'm not the person to leave a bad review but this is my fourth bad experience with staff and my food being touched with bare hands.. read more

Don't order any food that isn't ice cream. Have low expectations on the ice cream and staff. This Dairy Queen runs at a turtles pace and just can't seem to run smoothly. read more

i ordered a chili dog. it came out with mustard, ketchup and relish on top of the chili. I asked is this how they come. The person at the cash register said yes. I told her I'm good and left. read more

Poor service, long wait, extremely sub-par blizzard. We stopped in for a quick treat and took 30 minutes just to get through the drive-thru. I was watching and the car ahead of me had a beautiful blizzard come out the window (not served correctly). When I got to the window my blizzard was already soup. When I asked how long it had sat there, I was told that she didn't make it so she didnt know. Thankfully she didn't flip mine either. read more

Dairy Queen Store - Waited almost 30 minutes for my "Blizzard" - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Council Bluffs, Iowa

Worst DQ ever! Long wait, inept staff, cold fries, and a mixed up order. Don't waste your time or money.

I hate this place. it was awful and it taste like shit. Never go back the service is awful.

The same poor service I've come to expect of this branch of Dairy Queen. Check their website and their hours say 1030 I get there at 10 o'clock sit in line for about 7 minutes before someone comes to the speaker for them to tell me that they will be with me in a couple of minutes 2 minutes later they come back and tell me they're closed. Do yourself a favor and go to Tastee Treat instead. Better service nicer people and better tasting food for a cheaper price read more

My wife had a huge craving for some DQ a couple days ago, Saturday, so we went. My wife ordered a Brownie Earthquake with extra hot fudge. They are a little pricey at almost $5 but they are pretty good. We ordered and her ice cream came out in a few minutes, which was pretty good speed. The service is always good with the employees being really nice. The location is a tad odd though. It was connected to a gas station for years, then the gas station went out of business so the gas station turned into a used clothing store. Just a little odd. Overall, this our DQ go-to in Council Bluffs; its close to our hose and the product is good. read more

Disappointed every time!!!! I have tried this dairy queen so many times because my friend loves ice cream. Never get the order right on the ice cream blizzard's. The hamburgers always have more condiments on the outside of the bun than inside the hamburger. My hamburger should look appetizing and I should get what I pay for....French fries are always cold.I wish they would switch out Managers. Training needs to be performed in this location. read more

This place used to be my go-to ice cream shop. It's close to my house and very familiar. In the last several years, however, their service has gone downhill, their food has become sub par, and their ice cream isn't the creamy deliciousness that Dairy Queen is known for. Yesterday I stopped at another Dairy Queen in town, and the taste and texture of their ice cream compared to the ice cream at this store (which is icy and not creamy at all) isn't even on the same wave length. They're so different. I've actually stopped going here mostly because of the ice cream, but also because of the service. It's such a shame. It used to be awesome. read more

Have been working at home all day and wanted to treat myself to some ice cream. Place had no customers just one gal that was up at counter talking to the staff. We gave our order, I got the Peanut Buster Parfait. Sat down at a table that was very dirty, napkins all around the garbage can. The gal that was up at the counter at this point is now laying down in one of the booths with her foot up on the table. How you can mess up ice cream is beyond me but the PBP was completely filled with peanuts and all the salt scraped from the bottom of the bucket. I threw half of it away due to all the salt, but this isn't my complaint, it is the young lady with her foot up on the table where customers eat off of. As a business owner this would never be tolerated. I hope management/owners get on top of these 1 star Yelp reviews and makes some changes. read more

No free pup cups when there free everywhere I don't recommend this place the owner needs a new company

Pretty sure this place gives you expired/stale food. The soda is watered down. I asked to add onion to my chicken sandwich and they put 1 piece of onion on there. Not sure why I even considered this place. The food is almost as disgusting as the place itself. My lunch break is ruined thanks dq you failed bad read more

The ice cream here is very creamy and good, but on the downside they really need to put napkins on the table, we really struggled getting to them because they were in a corner of the wall at the front. Another thing is it's not a very clean place, it gave a nice old feel, but there were nails sticking out of we're windows are supposed to be. read more

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. It is an absolute joke. First off, they are always under- staffed, making your drive through wait time at least 10 minutes. Our sundaes were half melted, at least, by the time they were handed to us. My arctic rush was basically ice water (see photo). Also, for whatever reason, they don't have to participate in the "upside down or it's free" thing. I can't believe the place is still open honestly. Probably the worst DQ I've ever been to. read more

Gross. Driving to Minnesota from Colorado thinking that DQ sounded ok. Bad mistake. Fish sandwich was a burnt grease soaked gastrointestinal snafu. Dirty and smelly. Be sure to take in the goodwill clothes store just on the other side of the dining area. Great selection of used clothes to compliment the yummy DQ goodies. I'd give this place a 1/2 of a star if I could. What in creation is going on here? Avoid this place read more

Horrible. Anytime I have went they've had to redo the orders because they would either give something completely different from what we asked or ended up giving us the wrong flavor. And then when they redo the order when I asked for a blizzard it's mostly ice cream even after asking for extra whatever I wanted in it. read more

This location is no bueno. It tastes off, even the ice cream smells different. Go to the one by Walmart, it's far better and you can tell it's a lot cleaner read more

Slush tasted like dirty water. Cheesecake bites in the blizzard tasted sour so they were probably old. Save your $ and go somewhere else!

I must go at good times as the service is always good. I always go inside. Though across the multiple times I have been there many times the tables or floors are sticky- guess it comes with it being an ice cream shop. Always good ice cream though. Never eat actual food at this location though. I would recommend the Manawa location for that. read more

The service was okay. No one else in the place. The facility was dirty and had a thrift store (?) attached. The rest room was disgusting. We will not be going here again. DQ should disenfranchise this place. It gives customers a bad impression of DQ. read more

So we have tried and tried the ice cream. Tonight was nothing but liquid mix. The service is pathetic and the quality is worse. If you go in the establishment it is a mess and looks dirty. Not what I would expect from more from a Dairy Queen franchise. read more

Stopped in for lunch over the weekend. First thing we noticed and it was almost enough to make us leave was the smell. It was kind of a musty, spoiled smell, very unpleasant. We each order the bacon cheeseburger $5 lunch. It wasn't until after we paid that we learned they'd run out of bacon and only had enough for one sandwich. Really? How does that happen? Send someone to the grocery store for more. While both sandwiches were made to order and hot, they came with enough mayo for 6 burgers. The fries were fresh and hot. The sundaes that came with the meal seemed a bit softer than expected but were still good. This is an odd store. They are connected to an old gas station that has been converted to a used clothing store. To get to the bathrooms you have to go back into the store. The bathrooms were typical gas station fare. Not very appealing and a bit dirty. read more

Worst service ever. Waited 20 min for a burger. In that time I think they had to go buy a cow from an auction and slaughter it just to make a burger. Also I didn't go there for a burger I wanted a chili dog but apparently they were out of hot dogs. All this goes to say just don't waste your time and money. read more

My husband and I visited this location on August 7 at around 2 pm. Actually we went in to shop at Sequels next door, but passing through Dairy Queen to get to Sequels was awful. The trash outside was overflowing, the front entry way (the glass doors were filthy inside and out) there was trash inside on the floor and the customer curtesy stand was half stocked and filthy, the floor behind the checkout stand counter was filthy! If it wasn't for Sequels we would have never entered the building...yuck! read more

Love this place!!!! The girls here are so nice and the ice cream is always made just right!!! You've got my money!
