Disgusting experience here. Ordered a Blizzard when there was only one person besides myself at the counter. Approximately 13 minutes into the wait, I spy one of the employees making my Blizzard. He mixes my Blizzard and sets it down into a freezing compartment and proceeds to lick his fingers. Gross! I told the manager who told me that she would speak to him. I waited another ten minutes, sliding around their very dirty and greasy floor, observing all the long-haired employees making cakes, cones, etc. Their long hair hanging loosely as they prepared the different frozen fare. Marched over to the cashier and canceled my order. No thanks. When things are this bad it's time to say goodbye. I will forever think of them as the Dirty Queen restaurant. What can I say about an old-fashioned staple of the community? This particular location has great Blizzards and other comfort foods. To be honest, I only over order a Blizzard as that is what Dairy Queen is famous for. Everytime that I have ordered one, it has come out perfect (upside-down and all). I have rotated my choices but my Blizzard of choice has to be the Mint Oreo Blizzard and then I add Extra Cookie Dough to it. The location here in Cedar Park is always busy but the staff always seem to be able to take in stride and never seem harried. I stopped here to get a milkshake for my daughter after her wisdom teeth surgery. The people who work here are really nice and accommodating. I ordered fries which took a long time, but that's because they were making them fresh (the only way to eat fries). This is a locally owned business so come support them and get some yummy fries! Well...a DQ in the Cedar Park area! We have never been fans of the fast food offered at DQ, but long ago when we were both kids the hubster and I have always enjoyed DQ ice cream! In fact it is our favorite for traditional old fashioned hot fudge sundaes with or without the whipped cream, chopped pecans and maraschino cherry! So in the spirit of adventure we decided to make use of a $6 bacon cheeseburger deal complete with small fries and small beverage. The new location has had variety of reviews but something worth mentioning is the ability to place an online order- it made it very easy to craft the exact condiments for each burger and you can even order your ice cream sundae-or any other menu item for that matter. The site was easy to use with clear instruction and drop down boxes to specify your topping, mix in, flavor desires or even easier check boxes to personalize your burger etc. There is a disclaimer informing that your food is best fresh and denotes the time you may pick it up or you can denote when you want it to be ready. Very handy. The bacon cheese burgers were average, the fries good and the ice cream sundaes fabulous!!! The service was very good and everything bright, clean and new! We will return .... We have really just gone here for the Blizzards...I cannot tell you how much I love the S'mores Blizzard but, Wed we went there and they said they were no longer making it...sad...but, it's still on the menu... I decided to try the Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard, just as yummy. Not coyingly sweet which was a surprise. I really wanted to try the Animal Cookie one but, alas not there either but, I believe we all know that's REALLY SWEET. I haven't eaten lunch here in a really long time but, soon DQ soon. I have been to this DQ twice and so far, so good. The restaurant has been clean and comfortable both times. I see a lot of families eating here, which to me is a good sign. This time, I ordered Jalitos with my meal, but they were clumpy and tough. I told an employee of my dissatisfaction and they quickly replaced them with fresh ones. It should be noted that this DQ opened in February 2016, so any reviews older than that are invalid. I anticipate being a frequent visitor to this friendly and inviting restaurant. read more

Worst Dairy Queen ever. I decided to take my granddaughter to get an ice cream cone like I did the week before. Last week I got two kids ice cream cones for $1.00 each (it was a special they were promoting) as I learned this week. When I went back today, I ordered the extract same thing. My bill was $6.26 and half the size of the week before.... Now I get upset for over paying for what I get. On the board it said $2.89 for a small ice cream not kiddy cone.... However it seems that I was charged for a small, not kiddy con,?and it barely went over the top of the cone. I told them I was unhappy about it. The manager was told, the window was closed and I could see her almost yelling and waving her arms around at the girl at the window... the manager was so out of line there!!! As result, I would never go to that Dairy Queen again. Freddy's is down a couple of blocks and I can have custard for about the same price... Manager problems, the ice cream wasn't even that good, small portions, very high prices, and bad vibes all sums up to.... Never going there again!!!! The last few times we have been the drinks have been terrible. Very little syrup in the drink just nasty sour tasting drinks. They charge so much for them a small drink is 3.59$!!!!! Not planning on going back the family and I are not happy with the food or the drinks. read more

On free cone day, the staff was remarkable! Upon entering the business we were greeted with a "Would you like a free cone today?". The gal asking actually seemed excited to serve us one, even offering a dipped cone. Every single visit, we've been treated as though we were more than welcome to be there. Of course, the food was good, but even if it hadn't been perfect, the superb service would've brought us back again and again. (But the food always has been hot and fresh). So a few weeks ago my sister, father and I were travelling to Lubbock for a funeral and stopped at the Dairy Queen in Abilene to get lunch, much to my dad's protest that Arby's is better, but we hadn't been to the DQ in forever. This location was terrible, took 45 minutes to get our order, then half of the order was missing, just awful after awful. Really disappointed. Yesterday evening my wife and I stopped at this Dairy Queen in Cedar Park off 1431 with our daughters because they had some Blizzard coupons they had received from school. I have to say that this DQ is the gold standard and where they should send other managers to see how this place is run so they can get their ships in working order. This place was on Chick-Fil-A level as far as service and speed of the order, everything being correct, even special instructions on my daughter's hamburger. The food was super fresh and awesome, and came out ASAP. Totally redeemed the whole franchise in my opinion, and looking at the other reviews on here, it wasn't just a lucky moment, or was really good by comparison from my terrible Abilene experience. They seem to be consistently bringing their A-Game. I hope the manager that was on shift last night at 5:00 and his crew get some high fives, we dined in and both ladies that worked the register were courteous and great. They opened this week. It was very clean and we liked the flat screens displaying of the menus. I really enjoyed the flat screen that had a slide show about the history of DQ in the USA. The staff was friendly and professional. As busy as they were, the food was brought out to us quick and was very taste and fresh. We order the Belt Buster and a coke. We did find the price a little high over $10. Overall, enjoyed the experience. read more

My family and I loved this place. We tend to eat late at night and so it's hard to find a place that's still serving hot food with no errors and with energetic staff. Huge disappointment. They have a partial DQ menu and of course, all our normal favorites are either not available, or the recipe has changed. The chicken strips are nothing like they used to be, awful in fact. Hope you like fries, because that's the only side available. No onion rings, no cheese curds, no hot dogs. Did I mention the chicken strips are awful? The reason we fell in love with DQ was the variety and quality of their food. This location has neither. If you go, go for the drinks and treats only. Those are still good. The staff started off a little rocky, but all-in-all, they do a great job. My ONE star is not a reflection on the servers...just the choice and quality of the food. Update October 2017...They fixed their chicken strips to be more like the original recipe so I bumped up one star. The staff is pretty good considering it's a fast food place. All-in-all, I miss the old DQ's with more to choose from food-wise. We pretty much only go when we're wanting a Blizzard. read more
