I've been going here ever since we finally got a D-Store here. If you're a motorcyclist, chances are excellent you already know about Dainese and probably have already visited this store at least once or twice. If you're into snowboarding/cycling/skiing, they have some good stuff for you as well (though not right now, because it is MOTORCYCLE SEASON, B*TCHES). Anyway, the very helpful and wonderful staff will help you any way they can. Susan and Sue go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, and to make sure you get to try on everything you want to try. They'll ask questions, make suggestions about fit, comfort level, and style, and just generally seem to care about all of their customers. It's kind of fitting, their level of customer service. After all, Dainese is all about old-world craftsmanship fused with cutting-edge technology. That one of their stores (and there are currently only three in the U.S., I should mention) should place such emphasis on providing customer service that raises the bar is really no surprise. Go. Check it out. For myself, I like their boots and gloves. I have a pair of Dainese gloves that are my absolute favorite pair for riding, and that have convinced me that I'll never buy another pair of gloves without gauntlets. My SO likes their race suits and back protectors -- but he does track days and I don't, so that makes sense. read more

Love Dainese so I'm inclined to give it 5 stars. The store is well stocked for being in a location that is not conducive to year-round riding. Lots of leather goods; jackets, pants, suits, boots, gloves. Some other soft goods as well such as denim and cotton shirts. There is this company called Regenesi that takes used Dainese racing suits and makes good out of them; wallets, iPad case, credit card holders and some other fun stuff. This store had some good offerings in the way of those. There were two Ducati's in there from the local shop. Tons of AGV lids, a rad deconstructed J Miller suit that gives you insight to what actually goes into making a suit, a Nicky Hayden signed cutout, some signed Bradl boots, and a suit branded like the city of Chicago flag. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's fairly close to the Chicago redline stop. read more

I LOVE THE D-STORE!!! If I had bottomless moneybags pockets, oh I would blow so much money here... I LOVE IT ALL!!!!! Helpful & kind staff! Great store! So nice they have a location out here in Chicagoland! Yes, it is a bit pricey, but that's what you get for high quality Italian Dainese products! They do fun bike nights meet ups and group rides. It's really given us the chance to meet a lot of stellar people! If you are in the area, and in need of some great gear, definitely stop by & check them out! Buyer Beware. I purchased a $1400 helmet from this store during the off season and decided it was too tight and went back 2 days later to exchange it for a larger size. I was told tough luck as there are no exchanges or refunds on any helmet. It didn't matter that the riding season was over, only 2 days later, and the helmet was in brand new condition. Now I have to sell it on Ebay or the bike forums. Try Cycle Gear down the street on Golf Road. They have plenty of Dainese and AGV products with a "no hassle return" policy. Any of the online stores offer fair exchanges/return as well. read more

My relationship with Dainese began around '07/08 at the San Francisco store. That place is really amazing, and I had been going there throughout the years, until I moved to Chicago. There's a Dainese store here, too, yay!! Now the San Francisco made me feel welcome like I was as home, and they went above and beyond with everything service. They felt like moto family over there. All around, good people! Would Chicago D-Store live up to my experience in San Francisco? Absolutely! The Chicago store really has an incredible and knowledgeable staff as well, and I can't wait to go back (money-permitting)! They're so awesome there, I wanna buy stuff I don't even necessarily need (i.e. something I already have one of). This store also hosts race viewings (I know there's food for at least the 1st and last MotoGP race of the season), free espresso and water with each visit, and they've been known to have in very special guests appearances by the stars of racing that they sponsor! I visited on the last race of MotoGP 2015, and they even gave me a free Italian style Dainese sweatshirt, for being the enthusiastic first customer there (It's my favorite sweater btw, thanks you guys!)!! read more

Roger really had me wanting to drop more money than I had when I visited. That's how great my experience was. I am a a total greenhorn when it comes to motorcycle riding. I haven't even taken my classes yet, but I knew I had to get some kind of adequate gear ready. I didn't know what to expect and honestly I was intimidated, but Roger was very patient with me and explained any questions I had in full detail. I felt comfortable with the salesman and self assured. I would definitely return to this store in particular for future equipment purchases. I stumbled across the D Store after dinner one night during the spring, and had no idea that I was in for a special surprise! I had never heard of Dainese until that evening, but when I left - it was one of the coolest retail experiences I had ever had. Being a new bike owner myself, I felt like I could browse for some new gear and then walk out the door. Nothing more than a little window shopping, ya' know? I've never been into a store where the staff was so passionate and technically knowledgable about their sophisticated products. This place was like walking into the Lamborghini Dealership (minus the pretentious price tags) of cycling gear, and getting nothing but the custom attention we all seek as consumers. I wasn't just educated on riding gear, and why their product is so different than the rest, but start hearing about all the cool events and things they had planned for the summer. At that point, I was instantly hooked! This seemed like a really cool brand I wanted to know more about. The staff there is awesome, and I highly recommend checking this place out if you like not just quality products, but quality service as well. This is not your typical gear shopping experience. I was recently surprised to learn that this even existed, thinking this was a SoCal experience only. I made a point to stop by to try on some jackets the next time I was in town and had a great experience. The staff was the perfect mix of attentive without being overbearing. Sue helped me out and provided excellent service with fitting a jacket and giving honest feedback about what not only fit well, but looked good on me. The store was merchandised very well, clean and easy to navigate. You get what you pay for, and at Dainese, you get excellent service and an excellent product. Will be back! read more

The staff here is great. They were extraordinarily attentive and helpful when I came in. As a newbie I needed a lot of guidance, which they were happy to provide. Ultimately I did not buy most of my gear here as the products tend to have a more lean/European and race-inspired style and fit than I was looking for, but their wares are clearly of very high quality. During my two visits I was surprised at the number of people just "stopping by to chat." Clearly they value the customer relationship. I was also surprised to see that they host "events," inviting customers in to watch Moto GP races and such. So all-in-all it just feels like a friendly and community-oriented place. I'll be keeping the D-Store in mind for my future purchase needs. read more

Not sure wtf was going on the last time i went to the d-store, but it was an odd experience. I decide to make the trip from the burbs on the other side of town all the way to Schamburg to possibly pickup this new rossi turtle helmet i've seen online. Good excuse to take the bike out and was looking forward to visiting the shop. I roll in and realize it must be close to closing time since the employees are chilling outside. I park out front and I immediately get the vibes like i'm inconveniencing their chill session. As i'm working on taking off my helmet and gloves off i get a blank stare from the crew...i say hello and get an unenthusiastic hello back. I look at my watch and realize the shop doesn't close for another hour. Damn, i would have sworn it was a minute till by the awkwardness i felt from these guys. Long story short, there are zero customers in the store, i go in, crew drag their chairs back into the store right behind me. I ask to see a helemet, dude knows zero about the helmet and is clearly more interested in his cell phone. I knew enough about the helmet i was looking at by all the research i did online, but was looking forward for some in-person expertise. They can't tell me if the cheek pads have removable layers (Arai does..does agv? I'll just have to email revzilla and know the answer in a few i guess), guy looking at his phone and misses one of my questions. I give up on any hopes of buying the helmet i came there for (if I'm going to drop $900 ill do it at a store not truing to rush/ignore me out thank you very much). I look around at other stuff and its just the strangest of vibes i've gotten. Maybe cause the store was empty, but i wanted to get the heck out asap. Took me an hour to get to the store and i was outta there in less than 30. My favorite part...i walk out of the store and start to get my gear on...I don't even have my gloves on and the guys come back out with their chairs to chill outside again. Lovely. I came to the Dainese Chicago store today. I wanted to try on the new style sneakers and jackets they have. I walked in the store and took a quick glance at the shoe section...only a quick glance as there was no room to take a better look as there was a table with popcorn and chairs setup right in front of the wall display, and there were about eight people around the table area. So I wandered over to the ladies jacket section. Five minutes after being helped by a sales associate in the jacket section the store manager walks in, she must have been on her day off as she was wearing a costume. As she walked in she announced that she was taking part in an Indian wedding...that's good because who sells Italian motorcycle gear wearing a sari. A few minutes later someone made a joke about her outfit and I thought it was funny but after looking over at the store manager while still giggling I saw this awful cold look on her face as if I was very unwelcome "there" just trying on jackets. I could only stay a little longer as I couldn't deal with the unpleasant situation. Now the only thing I can say is that you should not setup a table within two feet of the display wall and expect the customers to squeeze through it, over and around other customers while they're just there enjoying free popcorn! read more
