Stopped in on the way to the airport to grab a t-shirt. They had 0 in the 2XL size, in any of at least 5 styles that looked cool! When the sales lady asked how everything was I politely said, could be better, you don't have any 2xl, and her response was "that's not gonna happen!" I have literally been to 50+ dealers as I like to hit them everywhere I travel. Please see below pics of how I came in wearing a Harley shirt, hat and carrying a Harley bag. I have at least 100 Harley shirts, 8 leather jackets, boots gloves...the list goes on. Obviously she doesn't know that or that I also own 9 motorcycles, 2 are Harley's. Music was way too loud. It was 3:30 and the store is open until 5pm. Everyone seemed more concerned about cleaning up and closing than helping. No one ever paid attention to me. I guess it's just as well. Selection of clothing was limited. Not very many motorcycles either. read more

I had a great time here. I stopped in on a trip I took to the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee and then to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Along the way I stopped at 22 Harley Davidson Dealerships. This particular dealership is one I highly recommend stopping at. They have a very large showroom, one of the largest of the 22 on the trip. The staff greeted me as soon as I came through the door and gave me the lay of the land and sent me on my way to checkout the chips and showroom. So I walk in on a Sunday when I had gone out for a ride on my Deluxe and was greeted as soon as I stepped in through the door. Then without any pressure Dan( my sales guy ) walks up to me, introduced himself & we started a conversation. I was eyeing the new Milwaukee 8 Ultra Classic. As we were speaking I decided I wanted to test ride the bike. Not a problem! Dan introduced me to Nick, we talk, they get me ready for a test ride, went out on a nice ride & I was impressed , not only with the bike but the whole experience from beginning to end. Yep, beginning to end. I didn't/ don't like the black wall tires, instead I really like the look of the big white walls & lo and behold .Nick was generous enough to switch out the bw for the ww ( although the 2017s have larger tires front and back ) Dunlop does not make this larger size so the dealer had to order them. I ended up purchasing the new bike . Simply put,The fact that Nick was able to switch then out to make me feel content tells me they really strive to make you (the customer)happy. You just don't see that in many places & Chicago Harley scores big on costumer service! They even called me a few days later to follow up and make sure everything was going well & I was happy with my purchase. ( nice touch!!) The whole experience from beginning to end was much appreciated ( from meeting any one person) whether it was in the clothing department( some pretty hot looking girls/ ladies ) to parts & service. It is now 3/2021 and I can't renew my plates because they still have not sent the paperwork to Springfield. Took my son here to get a gift for his father. The lady that helped us was nice and she tang us up. But after that is where it goes down hill! We saw that they had wrapping so I wrapped my sons gift and he helped me. We were just about done and a rude lady walks over and say very rude" hey guys we do the wrapping!" As I stated we were putting the last piece of tape on the wrap. I said well there was no one here to wrap so we didn't know and she gave me a dirty look. I mean I am 49 years old and think I know how to wrap a Christmas gift. We used a little paper and 3 pieces of tape. I've been to 4 dealers in the Chicago area in the last 3 months, this one gave me the deal I was looking for on a new 2016 Ultra Limited without all the game playing B.S. that usually goes along with it. My salesman Genarro was top notch. He saw that I was looking for used and I got new for a little more, and the bike I really wanted. Jerry finished the deal and he is a pleasure to deal with as well. He also made sure the concern I had, was quickly taken care of. Rick did the finance, and he was equally as pleasant to deal with and all the numbers jived. I called Chicago HD to inquire about a used 2017 Ultra Limited. The salesperson, Genarro, asked if I had considered buying new. He then threw out an ambiguous price on a new one, in terms of a range. It was a good price; almost sounded too good to be true. My wife and I immediately made the 1.5 hour drive to Glenview. Genarro was pleasant and hospitable. He took the time to go over all of the features of the bike. I asked him about price again and he once again threw out an ambiguous range. Of course as the buyer I'm assuming the low end of that range. Keep reading... I asked what other fees were included. Their freight and prep fees were the highest we had been quoted. Fine, the price was good and so I went home and did the math. The next day I sent Genarro a text to confirm the price. I did my math based on the low price of the ambiguous range he had had been quoting. This is where it gets fun. Two hours later I received a call from Nick. He begins the conversation saying either I was lying or Genarro was lying about the price. He said Genarro told him I had claimed being that offered that price by another dealership so that's why he threw that number out there. I did tell Genarro a price I was offered...but it was on a used one. Genarro is the one that told me I should consider new. Nick basically said they couldn't offer the lower price of Genarro's ambiguous range. He said he'd be at the top end of that range and even then he couldn't believe what they were doing. He was dramatic and overall it was a ridiculous conversation...everything you fear when dealing with dealerships. I call the next day to say I would accept the deal. Genarro seems happy about it and sets up a time the following day to do the paperwork. Additionally, he tries to arrange a delivery time for me. Neither of these things would happen. The next day I receive a text at 8:30 AM from Genarro informing me they sold my bike the previous night. He asked if I would consider a different color. Uh, no. He then told me that he would try to get another one in the same color from another store. Three hours later he says he found one and that it would cost another $650 to do the deal. Somehow it was logical in his mind that I would pay more than the agreed upon deal because they sold the bike they had agreed to sell me. It was ridiculous. I told him I was waking away from the deal. An hour later I got the predictable: "I'll tell you what, if you can be here by 4:00 today we can do the deal at the original price." I was embarrassed for the dealership. And sad that people fall for this BS everyday. I ended up buying my first Harley from Starved Rock. They honored the original deal offered by Chicago HD without the unnecessary drama. It's too bad that at a time when Harley is struggling to recruit younger and newer riders a dealership like Chicago HD does things to hinder the brand. Sad. read more

I bought my Softail Deluxe custom here and the sales tactic the owner and the salesman used on me had me believing I was spending $4K less, then weeks later during my 1000 mile tune up it was discovered they didn't replace all the transmission fluid and it was 2/3 low. I went back to see what they would do because I was upset, they looked at me like I was the a$$hole, and the shop manager, Ray, all but told me I was a liar and that he wouldn't honor a warranty repair should there be one, because I had to get my service done at the dealer I bought it from (totally inaccurate, I told him this) These $hitbags only want your money in their hands and the follow up service? I bought a luggage rack from Chicago Harley for a 2003 Road King. Happened to be the wrong one so I excahnged it for another they had to order from another store. Just not too knowledgable in the parts department in my opinion. I bought a jacket and it was too big. My wife returned it about two days later. I waited a week and the money didn't go back on my card. I called Chicago Harley and they said they processed the transaction and it's the bank holding off on processing the transaction. In the mean time they cost me $16.99 in interest as they held the funds through the interest cycle on my card. I called Chase bank and they said a refund would never be held by them. You know when you are dealing with service in a business that just makes you think, "How could it possibly be this unorganized?" Well that was my experience here. The parts and service department are run so poorly that I found it to be one of the more frustrating experiences I've had recently. It seems that no one communicates at this place. With that said, I found the sales aspect of this dealership to be a good experience. My sales associate was knowledgeable and not too pushy, which I appreciate. The sales team was not bad at all. However, after the sale was complete, my experience with the parts and service department really left the experience of my first brand new Harley a terrible one. Really frustrating. I bought my Harley at this store and I was happy when I bought it. Since then, this place has been just awful. The only benefit this place had was that it offered to hold the bike over the winter, free of charge if you had purchased the bike from them. For three years, I did this, and it was always a pain getting the bike to them and getting it from them, even with a few weeks notice, but I endured since it was a part of the reason I bought the bike there. Now, they've eliminated this service, and it costs $250 for the winter, or pay $425 for parts (labor NOT included) to waive that fee. Yeah? No thanks, and when you tell me that this was the policy for three years prior, you are full of it. I'd park my bike in the garage instead of paying that much! Another instance of the shoddy service at this place, I was putting a backrest on my bike and after purchasing what the guy behind the counter had suggested, I had to come back three times because the parts didn't fit---three times! From his recommendation! THEN he tried charging me an extra $20! I probably paid that much in gas coming to and from that place because of his lack of product knowledge. Overall, I never really liked coming into this store after I had purchased the bike, because everyone treats you as if you have to be in the "in crowd" to shop there, like it's some great honor. Chicago Harley, you've lost a customer, and I will be heading to a new location ASAP. Ah and just in time to upgrade my bike... your lost revenue...that hurts. read more

The tatoo-harley attitude is not match for polite customer service. This place is a store. People buy stuff there. The customer is doing them a favor. They are not doing anything for their customers. It's a shame because the whole Harley "thing" is fun as long as your bike always works, and you don't mind a stock bike. As soon as you want to add accessories, or your bike breaks and you need some service, you better find another place. I live in Chicago and I ride all the way to Kenosha to have my bike serviced at I love Harley-Davidson. I love my Road King. Chicago Harley-Davidson is not the place you want to spend money. Ride to Kenosha and get your bike worked on at Uke's. Chicago Harley-Davidson will do very minimal work for a lot of money. They will gladly sell you a bike, but then you are on your own. They will not return your phone calls. When you finally find them face-to-face, they come up with every excuse they can think of to squirm out of taking responsibility for everything they did wrong. It doesn't surprise me, they take the attitude that Harley-Davidson Motorcycles sell themselves, which they do to a certain degree. You would think service would be the most important part of the dealership, though, because that's what creates loyal customers. read more

This is the first and last time I do business with Chicago Harley-Davidson. There are many other dealers I can give my business to. I ordered handlebars and all other parts through them. After waiting and following up non-stop parts were finally there. No one bothered to call or update me. After parts were in, I was advised to drop off the bike in a week. I dropped off the bike and was promised that it will be done by Tuesday or Wednesday (1 week after bike was dropped off). I call Wednesday as agreed, bike was not ready, so they promise they will start working on it. I then call Friday and they say Saturday it will be ready. I call Saturday and now they are saying it will be ready by the end of the day on Tuesday. They kept on promising but not delivering. If you can't handle your workload, then don't promise customers something you can't deliver. If I wouldn't call and follow up, I'd not see my bike in months. This is unacceptable customer service. I am paying high Harley-Davidson price and expect you to live up to the expectation and keep your promises. I am extremely disappointed. read more

Thanks to Nick's help, I am now a Harley owner - 1990 XLH 883 Sportster. He found a bike for me despite my ridiculously low budget. I had to wait about a week so the service team could replace the transmission and shine it up until it looked (almost) new. It's been running well since I left the lot. Billy went over some of the basics of the bike with me - tips and tricks, minor adjustments I could make, etc. It was near the end of the day, but he took the time to explain things to me and answer my questions. I really appreciated that effort. I had to leave my old bike there over the weekend (as I couldn't NOT take the Harley home after I took it for a test drive!), which wasn't a problem. They even filled my tires and wiped off all the mud/water spots from Saturday's rain - a touch of good service on a bike I hadn't bought from them. There's a lot of drool-worthy bikes in the store, even if you can't buy one at the moment. Worth a trip if you love motorcycles. read more

The first time there.. everyone was great. They promised a poster of NHRA champ Eddie Krawiec but it fell thru the cracks and I never received it. I told Nick the story and he was surprised that someone else there had promised the poster to me because it actually belonged to him. He had it for a lot of years. Let me tell you what this guy did.. even though it was one of prized collections, he took that poster right off his office wall and gave it to me. I'm moving from San Francisco to Chicago and I was looking for a place to garage my bike while I was back in SF taking care of some final details of my move. I stopped at this dealer to fix a light bulb and I was cordially helped. Before I requested, the parts department offered help letting me use their tools. I asked the front desk about anywhere I could park my FatBoy for ten days while I was back in SF and the manager offered me free parking inside their closed and protected garage. I just had my front tire replaced at Chicago Harley and could not be happier. Great service (thanks Richie) and much better incentives than the other Harley dealer group in the Chicago NW Suburbs. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. I have a 2008 Buell that I was simply trying to get some questions answered about getting service or parts for. Buell became a wholly owned subsidiary of Harley-Davidson in 2003. The transmission case even has a Harley Davidson logo on it. With that in mind, I would expect that any Harley Davidson Dealership would at least be able to offer me some information, even if they couldn't service the bike. I don't fault this group for not being able to work on my motorcycle. That is NOT their fault at all. Buells are extremely difficult to service or find parts for since they stopped manufacturing them years ago. What I DO fault this group for is their horrible service towards someone who is just looking for a few answers. I used the online form which is recommended on the website for quick and convenient service. I never got a response to my email or a phone call. So a few days later, I tried calling the service department directly, which I was able to get through to. The service tech that I spoke with was incredibly rude and short with me. I hadn't even mentioned what I was looking for yet, and all I was getting was attitude. I mentioned the make, model, and year of my bike and before even hearing about what I needed, he cut me off and told me they do not work on Buells. I asked about the Harley Davidson subsidiary situation, to see if perhaps they had a connection on getting parts. I have no problem working on motorcycles myself... but anything that I asked was met with the phrase "We do NOT work on Buells" "A lot of these motorcycles use standard parts, and I was just hoping I could at least get information on their inventory so that I could perhaps find what I need." I asked "is there anything you can do to help me?" to which the agent nonchalantly responded "No." I thanked the tech for his time, and I was met with a sarcastic "Good Luck." This may not reflect how the rest of the dealership acts towards it potential customers, and it is a shame that one service tech left such a horrible taste when it comes to the dealership as a whole. But considering the lack of response on the online form (mostly because I think there was nothing they could do for me) and the interactions with the tech... I have no choice but to give this dealership 1 star. read more

They promised bike to be ready in few days but keep pushing it out day by day and do not provide any updates. If you can't live up to your promises and handle your workload, do not take customers in. On May 14, 2017 I was offered retail trade value for my 2015 Road Glide Special at Glenview Chicago Harley; the trade value the dealer offered was $19,475. That same amount would be applied to the new purchase of a 2017 RGS M8 $23,999. To me it was a no brainer deal since I actually paid $21000 for my 2015 RGS. I informed the dealer sales (Nick and Randy) managers that the only way that I would proceed with the deal was if they removed all of my installed parts, powder coated parts, polished rotors, accessories, after market intake by Roland Sands and Vance & Hines pro pipe full exhaust, swap my ape hangers and swap my biketronics audio system, amp and speakers into the new bike. They were to remove the V&H exhaust, intake and return those parts back to me and in return I would return the OEM exhaust and intake to them. The deal was for me to trade in a fully stock 2015 RGS with its original exhaust, intake, handlebars, etc. I informed the dealer that I had all of the original parts in storage and once the deal would be agreed I would bring the OEM parts back to them. So they agreed on the deal. I left the dealer and went to pick up the bikes title and the remainder of the funds to complete the deal on the new purchase. I have to admit that I was overly excited about such a great deal. I am a repeat customer at Glenview Chicago Harley, so far I have purchased 4 Harley's from that dealer, and I have also recommended a few co-workers and bikers buddies to buy there. So I figured that they were "FINALLY" taking care of me for being such a good valued and repeat customer! Anyway, I wasn't aware what was to come in the future! ~ Chicago Harley Glenview puts everything in writing, ok the deal, and even have a list of the parts that I wanted to swap, removed or given back to me. They even gave me a bill of sale with the agreed deal on it, price, trade value etc! Once I had returned back to the dealer with my bikes title and funds to complete the deal. Nick, informed me that they would not be going through with the deal and if I wanted to proceed with the deal I needed to give them more money, like almost $1,000 more on top of what was already agreed. I have to be honest that I felt like they pulled a "bait & switch" tactic on me, in fact they DID! I became extremely upset with them and informed them that I already had the funds, title, etc to finalized the deal and that I went out of my way to get this deal done and not they are re-nicking on the deal once they put everything in writing? Who the freak does that to a customer? So they noticed that I was upset so then they tried to ask me to leave the Vance & Hines exhaust and Roland Sands intake in order to move forward with the deal. I told them no, and that I already had my V&H exhaust sold for $700 to a buddy of mine. If they wanted for me to leave the exhaust to give me credit for $700 so that I can use those funds to buy a new exhaust for the new bike. They said no, etc so we went back and forth, etc Nick was telling me that the issue with the deal was above him and that it wasn't approve, etc and all this bullshit sales tactics. I informed them that I am not only a repeat customer but that several of my co-workers and friends, due to my referral had purchased bikes, parts etc from them. That I will write a letter to Harley Corporate, give them a negative review on Yelp, social medial and of course the forums. These a-holes even went with the trouble of picking up my bike that I was going to trade from my residence to then, re-nicked on the deal? Anyway, the word "STEALERSHIP" came to mind almost immediately! So they said sorry, etc and all this bs and that they would transport the bike back to my residence at no cost., blah blah blah. So I called Lakeshore Harley, spoke to Preston the sales manager, and informed him of what just transpired. He said that whatever they didn't honor that he would and that I would be treated totally differently at his dealer and if he promised something he would deliver. To bring all of the documents, check, title etc he even offered to pick up the bike from too. I asked the managers at Glenview Chicago Harley to transport the bike over to Lakeshore Harley, they agreed to transport the bike and were not happy too!! Well, it was a total different experience as a new customer/shopper at Lakeshore I was treated with respect, dignity, they honored everything the other dealer didn't, gave me the exact same deal, etc with no problems, issues, negotiations, etc. So now I will be a customer for LIFE at Lakeshore Harley that happens to be a smaller dealer than the one I was at so it's more family goal orientated and customer service driven than the POS Glenview Chicago Harley... Needless to say that Glenview Chicago Harley lost a repeat customer and now they will be getting a negative review and an unhappy customer. I am currently working on my complaint letter to Corporate against Glenview Chicago HD. read more

Its not just one experience with them that makes this dealership so great, its every time you walk in the door. They are always friendly, greeting you every time you walk in the door, and make you feel like a friend and not just another customer they don't remember. First it started with taking the Riding academy course (which is not just about learning how to ride, but how ti ride safely. Would recommend this class to any rider new or old). They make sure you learn safely and even take you to get your road test if needed. After completing the course I was kicking tires for a few weeks and Brian spend a lot of time with me and educating me about the difference between styles of bikes. Ultimately I ended up buying a bike somewhere else just because it was a better deal at the time. Brian completely understood and still spent time talking to me and answering questions. I knew my next bike I was definitely buying from them. 6 months later, I traded in the bike and bought a bike from Brian, as sweet deal I might add!! Him and Nick made the whole process of purchasing, trading in, looking in to difference finance options and warranties, all very easy. When I walked in I had no intention of buying a bike that day, but they made it possible and very easy. The parts department is all very knowledgable and the clothing staff is great helping you find things that are comfortable and designed for the riding you are doing.
