I returned to do some more upgrades recently and I was pleasantly surprised. I knew it was going to take some time as most dealerships are out of business in the Chicago area. I was told aprox 2 weeks. It was exactly 1 week and a day. The work was great. In the summer the wait can be anywhere from a few days to 4-6 weeks. It is expected though because of the lack of quality shops still in business in the Chicagoland area. That's why I plan ahead and do these upgrades over the winter during the "off season". Gives me time to pay and keeps my local bike shop busy. It's a win-win situation. Try them out !!! You'll be happy. read more

so I've lugged my 1979 Kawasaki Kz 1000 LTD across three states the last five years and no one seems to know exactly how to work on it....one guy was real angry, another was a Harley guy...Lol. I got to Chicago and another shop did good work but when I looked at the charge I was like; "I know taxes are skyhigh out here but really?"...Then I found this shop, I had already decided to sell it and had an offer of $6 K. When I picked it up I fell in love with it all over again, they fixed what they were supposed to but they also made some other adjustment voluntarily. I love opening up all four carburetors and hearing that factory header growl, whatever else they did made it so I couldn't sell, shit I don't need the money at my age, gonna keep it now that I have mechanics that know what they're doing without making me bend over and grab my ankles...... read more

I've been going there for over 20 years. Dave is upfront & can do anything from show to maintenance. On of the few places to get parts for older bikes with technical experience to back it up. The same knowledge of newer FI bikes also. The bad reviews of 'carb cleaning'-yes fix rusty tanks before carb cleans (common sense) & turn around time in the summer-be proactive & utilize the cooler months. Recently, my husband and I were all ready to go for a ride on his motorcycle. To our dismay, we found a nail in his tire. Bummer. Riding had to wait for another day. So he called around and tried to find a place that will service us same day. After calling numerous shops, he got ahold of Albrecht. Luckily, they were willing to take his bike in same-day AND wait after-hours just to have his bike towed there. They told him it would be ready by the end of the day, the next day. The next evening rolls around and he calls the shop. It wouldn't be ready until the next morning. Ok, that's annoying, but whatever, he just wanted the flat fixed. He calls the next morning and they say it will be fixed by noon. When he shows up at noon, he still has to wait another half hour till they bring it out to him. To their defense, they just wanted to make sure that they had it fixed properly. It just would have been nice if they were a little more realistic about the timeline. I found this shop by searching motorcycle repair on google and thought I'd give them a call. Very pleased that I did. These guys are the definition of superior service! After I received a quote that beat all others in the area, I dropped my bike off around 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. I was told there was no way it would be done until Saturday afternoon. Then, I received a call just before 7pm (well after they close) saying my bike was ready to go and I could come get it right away! While picking up he stated that "it's going to be nice tomorrow and we want to see you out riding." It's extremely evident these guys love what they do and do it right. Do yourself a favor and look no further than this place. This is THE place to go if you are needing service on any Japanese bike in this area. I found out about this place from my uncle who has been a motorcycle rider for the past 15 years. If you need used parts for you your sportbike and you don't want to wait for a new part delivery from your local cycle shop go here. Call first thought to make sure they have the part you want. I have also taken my bike here for several repairs and have always been satisfied with the work they have done. Honestly its a little off the beaten path but I assure you that the customer service sure beats Chicago Cycle Center in Lincolnwood. In addition they will pick your bike up and drop it off back at your house. Finally they also have used sportbikes for sale which is rare for the Chicagoland area. Overall I would have given them 5 stars, but their prices are just as high as the new cycle dealers around Chicago. read more

Ok guys and Gals I don't like talking bad about a place but don't go here. I brought my bike here for some very easy repairs. And by the time they finished my bike was in worse shape then when I brought it there. I Paid my bill and right from there I went to another shop to get everything straightened out. I have brought my Suzuki intruder in a few times and I was happy with the work, so I asked them to rebuild my carbs because my front one was sticking and leaking gas. they said they did the work I paid them and put it on the trailer and took it to storage. A few weeks later I started it up and it was doing the same thing that it came in for, I called them and they gave me a excuses that they'll figure it out and talk to some people on what else it could be. I later decided to pull off my seats to find a package with the float bowl pins in it and I went there personally and when I confronted them, he grabbed the package and threw it into the garbage can saying those were the old ones, wouldn't you put all the old parts into one container? I was promised they would figure it out and contact me, well another season goes by and nothing. I guess because I quit calling them they think I forgot. I was even charged for a can of carburetor cleaner they didn't use on my ride, they could of cleaned it a little to make it look like they did some work. I have a lot more time on my hands now and I'm going to make sure everyone knows about what kind of business they are running. I might even start putting up fliers and I'll make them very nice and colorful. it's nice that photo copies are so cheap per thousand (what's a couple more dollars right TOD & DAVE) Like I said I have a lot of time on my hands and enough is enough. Nice to know there's a lot of light poles everywhere and walking is good exercise. They should of done the repairs I paid them to do, now the bad publicity is really going to come back to bite them in the rears. I wonder how much revenue loss they will inherit due to their dishonest business practices. I will also be taking other steps legally and they will start dishing out their own money and time. You have to love technology on how clearly cell phones take videos and record sounds. I guess this is my new year's resolution. I done getting screwed over by businesses. read more

I had an accident with my Yamaha V Max. Highlands Yamaha said there was $4400 worth of damage. My insurance company said take it to Albrechts. Albrechts said they will fix it for $3400. The bike never ran right after getting it back. I found out later they painted some parts when they said they were going to give me brand new parts, Every time when i slowed down I heard a loud noise coming from the drive shaft. Only reason I took it there because I wanted my bike fixed instead of waiting for the person who hit me on there insurance to pay for it. I was telling my friend from work about this & she said that is the same place where she had her sons Honda 900 RR painted. They said it was going to be 1 of a Kind. Guess what he saw the same bike with the exact paint & the other bikes owner said he went to the same place. read more

I've brought my bike here a few times.. Never again they've had it for 3 weeks each time. Everytime I called only it's like they never knew what I was talking about. Then I pick it up pay some outrages bill and then have the same problem 50miles later. This places service sucks avoid if possible. Oh and if there excuse is their so busy why aren't they open Monday's? Or why not open at 8am like a normal service shop! This place sucks! Honestly they deserve 0 stars. read more

Took my off brand bike in for carb cleaning and oil change after sitting for over a year. They worked on it without any complaints and without bad mouthing it for what it was. They actually complemented me on it for what it was. Multiple other places wouldn't even consider looking at it. I left and in 2 blocks it died on me and I could not get it started. You would think I would be giving a bad review at this point right? I got it back there and they took it in back and got it started. One of the employees took it out and put 10 miles on it with no problems and came back. They told me if I ran into more problems to call no matter the time and they would take care of me. I had no more problems and the bike ran and rode better than it did when new. They also cut keys there which was nice. Great people and great service. They do have a return customer in me. read more

I had some insurance work that needed to be done on my bike after a delivery driver changed lanes into me. The guys at Albrecht's were good to deal with, responsive, they helped me through the process by dealing with the insurance companies and did what appears to be good work. I do most of the work on my bike myself, but if I need future professional work done I'll definitely head back and I'll recommend them to others. read more

Been with Redline since 1999 and he's slowing down business and sent me to Fast Track. I was worried because I thought they are race bike guys, I'm a cruiser gal, but I trusted Jim and gave it a try. As a woman, I was treated no differently than anyone else, and for the quick/easy stuff, they get me in and out while I fill my face at a nearby place. I am a motorcycle safety instructor with State of Illinois and it's important that my equipment is maintained. I'm hopeful that my bikes and I found our new caretakers. read more

Seriously has to the be worst shop I've ever been to. I brought my bike in in October for some top end repair and didn't get it back until mid May of next year. Every time I called the shop they gave me some excuse as to why they hadn't got to look at it yet. Most times the excuse was "I have to ask my boss if we can move it to the front of the schedule". And every time the shop said they would call me back regarding my bike, they never did! But wait it get much better. In the last three weeks before I actually picked my bike up, the mechanic told me on 4 separate occasions that my bike would be ready at a certain date, and go figure, it wasn't. When I would come in to pick the bike up. He would either say that he forgot he said he would have it ready or that he needed to ask his boss to move it up on the schedule. You would think that a bike that they had for 7 months would be at the front of the list. Overall I would say go somewhere else like motorcycle mania. You'll not only wait forever to get your bike back here but you'll spend an outrageous amount of money for a horrible service. read more

Bike wouldn't start so I had it picked up on 8/23. was told that it would probably just need a carb clean. Few weeks go by and I don't hear anything about the bike. I call for an update and I'm told that the carb parts are being ordered....another week goes by. Call again, this time I'm told that there is rust in the tank which is causing clogs. The guy they tells me I might need a new gas tank and that I should start calling radiator shops to see if they can steam the tank to remove the rust. Keep in mind he's telling me this before he's even spoken with the actual mechanic about whether or not they can savage my tank. So I wait a few more days. Finally I'm told that the tank is fine and that they could just seal the inside. I call back on a Thursday and am told the tank seal takes 48 hours and that I can get the bike early next week. Call back Tuesday, and am told I'll get a call right back. No call back. Needless to say, I got my motorcycle back in OCTOBER. It took over a month for these guys to do a carb clean and seal a tank. Ended up costing me almost $800. I decided to just go to the place to pick my bike up since these guys don't pick up the phone, call back, or have a different answer every time I call. Get the receipt and the guy tells me that my choke cable needs to be fixed...kind of strange that they wouldn't let me know this and fix it during 30+ days they had my bike...nope they leave it broken. Ok, get the bike and it runs great. 2 weeks later the bike is having trouble starting. I will never come back to this place. read more

i first found dave albrecht 26 years ago when my bike was totaled in an accident. he had my bike towed to his shop in rosemont or schiller park il. he bought my bike for parts and had me on a beauteful v-max 3 days after the accident. i since then have bought 2 other bikes from them. i also have sent many other people there for tires and tune ups. all loved the service and how cool the guys all are. 2 people i worked with and 2 other friends, have bought bikes from dave albrecht. all loved the price they paid for the bike they got. the mechanics there were always cool about explaning things to you and giving you good advice about your bike. dave was always willing to work with me to get me on a bike. i will always refer people to albrecht fast track. go there first before you look at new bikes. save a lot of $$$$$. ron kalinsky read more
