Part of the online menu on website as of July 2024

Called ahead to order takeout. It was ready in about 15 minutes. The place seems nice and clean from what I observed while waiting for my order. I got the four seasons roll and rosanna. The fish tasted pretty fresh, but they weren't as satisfying as other ones I've had. I didn't see any fish roe on the rosanna roll I got even though online menu says there's supposed to be some. It seems like they replaced it with cucumber. The portions seem small for the price and each of the roll was also a dollar more than what was listed on their site. I should've probably asked them how much each was when I placed the order.

If you're looking for a no frills, family-owned, Japanese spot in Seattle, this is it! My partner and I are regulars of 8 years. It is very popular for take out but we prefer to sit at the sushi bar. Their seafood is fresh and delightful. There's no imitation crab used here either--just the real deal. Be sure to check out the board with their ever changing specials. For non-sushi fans they also have teriyaki, noodles and curries. Service is always great and friendly too.

It was a spontaneous stop-by, and I was happy that I found this place. The space was clean, and the server was super kind and fast. The food was fresh and see the great potion!

What a local find! We were craving some sushi mid-week and luckily came across this place on our Yelp search! It's located in a busy intersection in Georgetown but there's a parking spot so easy to get to! Right when we walked through the front doors, we were greeted by the smiling chef, shouting us a nice welcome in! Then a lady came by to seat us. It was a surprisingly busy place for mid-week but we easily got a seat. We started with an order of vegetable tempura. I was quite pleased with this tempura. It had a good ratio of batter to vegetable and wasn't too fried at all. It was delicious! Then we ordered three rolls to share among the two of us - spicy tuna roll, futomaki roll, and dragon roll. We were absolutely pleased with the rolls! They were cut well, made well, and filled with fresh ingredients. I was very happy after this meal and even had some rolls to take home with me. I will definitely be going back!

Sushi restaurant located in strip mall. Good amount of indoor seating. Ordered a couple of rolls to go - the Spicy Tuna ($10) and Futomaki ($12). The rolls were well made, uramaki style (seaweed on the outside) and I liked the filling-to-rice ratio. The quality was just okay. Staff is super sweet :)

Craving sushi for Valentine's Day and I came across Daimonji. I ordered for pickup on the phone and was able to pick up my order in 30 minutes. I got the Daimonji roll, spider roll, red devil, and mad tiger roll. Along with one four seasons hand roll. My favorites were the daimonji roll and the mad tiger roll - I'd definitely get those two again! The others were good too but the flavors were not as powerful as the aforementioned rolls. The hand roll was my least favorite but that is just because I prefer the regular rolls for the ratio of fish to rice. Overall, a great experience and I'm looking forward to getting food from here again!

First time eating Japanese food here. Everything was delicious and staff were very friendly. The customer service is above and beyond here. Will definitely come back to try other things on the menu.

Makunouchi Bento Box; chicken cutlet, tempura, edamame, and chef's choice sashimi

The quality and service were GREAT!!!We went for lunch and we're seated immediately. The Bento Boxes looked and tasted AMAZING!!! We even went back a few weeks later for take out. Still yummy, but so much better to eat there. We've been dreaming of their sushi, so we plan on going again next week! The portions were great and did I mention yummy and fresh?!! Tips; - better to eat there, but still good as take out or delivery - the bento boxes are a lot of food, you won't be sorry - Go hungry - the wasabi is hot and they give you a lot - the ginger is amazing - They use fresh Shisho (green leaf) that is edible

I'll start by saying that I didn't find much value in their appetizers; the portions were extremely small and fell flat in flavor; particularly, the chicken karaage. Three small chicken nugget sides that were missing crunchiness and seasoning; the sliced cabbage to chicken ratio is quite disappointing. With that upset in appetizers out of the way, the sushis are good! My wife and I ordered five different rolls and it's clear that they use fresh fish and vegetables; there isn't a lingering after taste that makes you question the cleanliness and preparation. Some sushi joints make you wonder how long the ingredients have been taken in and out the fridge and if the chef even knows how to assemble a roll. This place is generous in the portions and is packed neatly to make a pleasant display. Their Lucky roll is probably my top pick so far, following that is their ebi tempura; the Lucky roll with the seared hamachi and fried onions pairs well together, while the Ebi tempura had a nice fried batter that compliments well the bits of cucumber and avocado. They have nice selection of sashimi which I will come back soon on my own to try; perhaps their yellowtail and unagi. Friendly staff, swift service from getting seated to receiving the check.

    Real agedashi!
    Megs S.

Super friendly, professional and tasty small business establishment. Hamachi and salmon grade sashimi were 100% delicious, miso soup had real konbu, and the agedashi tofu was made the way it should be- authentic. The 4 seasons roll was popular, and the spicy rolls were devoured. I'm not a huge fan of rolls like others are and stick to sashimi plates so It's always a plus when shiso leaves and radish are included. I tip my hat to small business spots like these who hustle hard and make it work thru the toughest of times.

Chirashi bowl (5/5) For the price, you just can't beat it anywhere else. It's totally worth it with 5 different kinds of sushi, shrimp and eel and roe. The fish tastes fresh and the wasabi is strong. Amazing price, generous portion, excellent quality. Unagyu don (4/5) This bowl has a mix of tender beef and eel and it's quite heavy on the sauce. I wouldn't say it's very salty but it is saucy and you need to mix it with the rice properly to balance it out. The portion is generous and it is very filling. Not bad but I'd go for the chirashi every time.

Georgetown has some nice hidden gems and I would consider this one of them... just good,…read moreno-nonsense Japanese rice bowls of comfort. If you're a fan of Red Bowl in Financial District, this place has a similar vibe with its approach to rice bowls. Having been here twice on different weeks, I think this will become one of my go-to places in the area when I'm craving fresh seafood on a weekend south of downtown. LOGISTICS Parking is convenient for Georgetown area, given they have a dedicated lot for customers of businesses in the area. Entering in, you order through the kiosk and if you're dining in, you can seat yourself and they'll bring the order to you. The space is small for larger groups but if you're 4 people or less, generally there are tables available on off peak hours (at least what we observed Sat/Sun). Ordering happens at the kiosk, which you can choose for takeout or to dine in. Keep in mind there are some items available for dine-in only (ex. udon or seared salmon bowls), but if you plan on doing takeout anyways you can order online or call ahead for pickup. Note - they do close at 2:30 pm but re-open at 4:30 pm. So long as you get your order in by 2:30 pm they'll still service you... which was nice since the last two times we came in around 2:00 PM. FOOD First off, they have nice nice presentation both in how the food is arranged and the bowls they use when dining in. From the ceramic/decorative bowls to the trays they use... it's the little things that add to the dining experience and make you think a business cares about its food. (Note: there was one time we had initially ordered togo but decided to eat in person; so they kept the food in plastic bowls for one of my photos.) In every bowl we had during our two visits, the rice was excellent! We've had some terrible rice at other donburi places before where it can be too overcooked or too mushy. Fortunately their seasoned rice was a good texture and tasty to eat on its own. The seafood was also excellent for the price / quality - fresh tasting with a melt-in-your mouth texture. Volcano Bowl: Spicy salmon + spicy crab salad w/ masago - despite the description it wasn't too spicy (siracha mayo) but it went really well with the rice, like a deconstructed sushi roll. I liked mixing in some wasabi to give it a stronger kick. Aburi Sake Bowl (seared salmon bowl): This is only available to order for dine-in; if you love salmon... I would recommend this one. Seared salmon is delicious seafood umami. I liked how the salmon had the right amount of fattiness too. Chirashi Bowl: If you like variety, then this is an excellent bowl to try a little bit of everything. I was amused that they also included unagi (I don't think I see that in most chirashi bowls). Even the shrimp, which is usually my least favorite part of chirashi bowls, tasted good with a slight sweetness. OVERALL Awesome place and a good location for the area given there's parking available. Price was just right for the quality (I'm amused how much cheaper good seafood is here in Seattle compared to the Bay Area) and the staff were really friendly. There are also two excellent bouldering gyms nearby (Castle Climbing Club and Momentum)... so if you're looking to recharge after a climbing session, I would highly recommend coming here!

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Parking is scarce, so plan ahead and be patient. We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.

The sushi chefs are well trained and talented. Definitely recommend sampling their selections of sushi. You won't be disappointed. Five stars for this. Now for the grill part. Yakisoba is usually a grill item, as it's a stir-fried noodle dish, with it's distinctive Japanese flavor profile, and ingredients. Unfortunately, this was a miss. Though the soy-sauce coloring was correct, the flavor profile was not. The amount of beef in it was acceptable, but the other components were a miss. The only vegetable component was shaved-like slices of small zucchini which I could count with one hand. That seemed to treated more like a garnish, than a component of the dish. Had the grill-cook finished it with a drizzle of tonkatsu-sauce, it would've been closer to what was suggested on the menu. They should rename it "pan-fried beef-noodles" instead. Sure wasn't Beef Yakisoba. Other than that, table-side service was excellent, and the sushi was first rate. Just not the "yakisoba", cuz it wasn't.
