Extremely Disappointing Customer Service…read more We stopped at Huxdotter Coffee in North Bend on Friday and ordered a 16 oz PBJ Smoothie, a 16 oz Mango Smoothie, and a ham and cheese croissant through the drive-through. At the window, we received the croissant and the 16 oz PBJ Smoothie, but were handed a 12 oz Mango Smoothie. We immediately pointed out that the drink was the wrong size. Rather than simply acknowledging the mistake and correcting the order, the employee told us that the order had been entered as a 12 oz drink. We reiterated that we had specifically ordered a 16 oz Mango Smoothie. Instead of saying something as simple as, "I'm sorry, we'll remake that for you," we were told that she would have to refund the original charge and then charge us again for the 16 oz drink. Seriously? Apparently, Huxdotter has developed an innovative new approach to customer service: If we make a mistake, the customer gets to fix it. The mistake wasn't ours. We ordered a 16 oz drink, and the employee or the person taking the order entered it incorrectly. Yet instead of taking responsibility for the error and providing the customer service one would reasonably expect, we were essentially given a bureaucratic explanation of why correcting their mistake was going to require additional transactions. We were on our way to an appointment and didn't have time to wait around sorting out an issue that should have taken less than a minute to resolve. We simply said, "Never mind," and left. What is especially disappointing is that this wasn't about the cost of a smoothie. It was about how the situation was handled. Mistakes happen. Good businesses acknowledge them, apologize, and make them right. Telling the customer that they have to go through a refund and repurchase process because the business entered the order incorrectly is simply poor customer service. Unfortunately, this experience left such a bad impression that we won't be going back. There are plenty of coffee shops willing to treat their customers better.

On the rainy morning that we stopped by, there was only one other party in the cafe having breakfast and playing board games. The woman who greeted us behind the counter was warm and friendly. If you enjoy flavored lattes, there are plenty of options here. They even have alcoholic flavorings they can add in -- think Bailey's, to spice up your drink if you're looking to jump start your morning in a different kind of way. I ended up being boring and got an oat milk cappuccino. The espresso in my drink was strong and the oat milk was frothed nicely. In addition to my drink, I also ordered a spinach topped brioche bun, which tasted great warmed up; the brioche was nice and fluffy. If you're looking for a place to sit down for a bit to get some work done, this would also be a great place to go, with plenty of seating available and free Wi-Fi. For the friendly service alone, I would 100% stop by again for a morning coffee.

My cousin got the Northbender which was a sandwich with horse radish. Nice bite to it. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area.

The lattes are very reasonably priced and come with a lot of options for flavors and sizes. I got a hazelnut latte and a (gluten free) blueberry scone. Now usually I hate gluten free food because it is crumbly and tastes like flour but that scone was unironically the best one I've ever had and it saddens me that I live 13 hours away and can only enjoy it once a year. The latte actually tastes like a latte and is good if you're a coffee snob looking for a fix. The staff was very sweet and helpful with questions. 5 stars, I will be back next summer ;)

It is super disappointing that this is the only drive thru Starbucks in North Bend…read more This location is wildly convenient. In a perfect world, you'd fill up your tank, hit the the Starbucks drive thru and go. But alas, this is not a perfect world. This location is very inconsistent when it comes to beverage quality, wait times & if they decide to open at all for the day. Five cars in the drive thru can either take a normal 8 minutes to get in and get out. Or you can sit there not moving at all for like 12 minutes trying to decide if you should just leave but by the time you finally decide it's taking too long, it's too late...some other poor soul has pulled behind you. I have never seen a location closed so sporadically, although that seems to be a common theme in North Bend. This location gets 2 stars instead of 1 because I'm sure there are staffing hardships. You're probably better off going to Huxdotter 9 times out of 10, honestly. Huxdotter doesn't do holiday beverages quite like Starbucks unfortunately.
