Stopped by today for a quick visit. Cute coffee shop with plenty of spots to relax and visit with friends. Staff is friendly and helpful. I ordered a latte and it wasn't hot enough. I also ordered a cookie and it was probably a couple days old. I would come back again, but will ask for extra hot temperature. read more

This is the second time I have been here since it's been Kelsey's and not Sandy's. Both times I have been unimpressed, but I will always try places multiple times just to be sure... I am sure now that Kelsey's is not the place for me. The first time here, I had the worst coffee ever - I will explain. There are certain coffees where however they roast the beans, it has a cigarette-ish flavor to it, this is what I taste here. The flavor you taste when breathing out is called retronasal olfaction.... That flavor here - is cigarettes. As someone that absolutely hates cigarette smell, this was a no for me. I ordered it with cold foam and was charged extra for that... it was not cold foam. It was like this weird bubbly milk thing on top of my drink that was so full of big bubbles, that it was gone in like 2 minutes. True cold foam is not that difficult to make and could really change your menu up for the better if mastered properly. Today, I decided to stay in town and give Kelsey's another try with something not coffee... a lotus, with strawberry and white peach. I also opted to try a turkey and cheddar sandwich - honestly, wish I hadn't - as I would just love my 6$ back! One piece of cheddar, one slice of store bought deli meat and the butter croissant from Costco... warmed to barely lukewarm... meh, definitely could have been better. As someone that has been in the coffee industry for 10+ years, from roasting to serving... my advice would be to get all your people barista 101 training so there is at the very least some consistency. This was my final attempt to like Kelsey's Coffee. I will stick with what I know is good and worth my money, it is not here. I will say, I do love that they have covered outside seating. That is a definite plus as Carnation is very walkable place. read more

Fantastic coffee shop! Good, strong coffee, always super friendly. Love that they have a drive through. The only coffee drive through in town. They have a stamp card to eventually redeem for a free drink once you get enough stamps. I only ever get coffee but they also have a super cute inside, nice outdoor seating when you have the dog with you or just want to enjoy being outside and a decent amount of drink and small food options. Kelsey's Koffee is the best! We live in Bothell and discovered this place a few years ago when it was Sandy's Espresso- while driving up to Snoqualmie weekly to visit Grandchildren. Kelsey is so warm and genuine and her friendly laughter and smile immediately make you feel like you've known her forever. She sets an example that is followed by the other baristas who work there. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is fun , relaxing and we look forward to it as our weekly treat destination. Wish it could be daily! Started trying this out a few months ago from a desire to support local. I was a Starbucks snob who converted to Mercury's but this place is in the heart of our town and seemed so welcoming. It has since become "our" coffee shop for me and my husband. Every single person on staff is so friendly, they know our orders by heart, and the coffee is always perfect. Seriously, as a former barista who has lived West Coast, East Coast, and Mid-Atlantic, I have never had my coffee done so perfectly, so consistently by any other spot. This crew is amazing! I don't usually have time to stay and enjoy the ambiance but the inside is clean and inviting and they have an awesome outdoor space great for meeting up with friends or people watching. My toddler loves to play in their rock fountain. read more

I don't say this lightly--Sandy's Espresso knows coffee. As someone who grinds my own beans at home and can taste the difference between over- and under-extraction, I was genuinely impressed. Their espresso has depth, balance, and none of that burnt bitterness you get at chain shops. read more

My family Loves Kelsey's Koffee! definitely my preferred establishment to grab coffee/food anytime of day! Wonderful staff! I look forward to seeing them for their genuine kindness and skill! I know every time I go to Kelsey's Koffee i can count on my coffee tasting the same every single time. Great quality and consistency! I typically use the drive through but if you get a chance to pop inside you should. it's super cute! They have a nice cozy fireplace to sit by and a large outdoor area out front. Coffee was okay, but this sandwich was just embarrassing. I literally did not make any modifications to this sandwich -- it's how it was handed to me inside the bag. How could a place serve this with a straight face? I wasn't in the mood to make a big deal, so I ate it, but I literally had to ask the person working the counter if I could have mayo and mustard. She seemed rather surprised, and had to go into the refrigerator and scoop out some mayo and mustard from a jar. read more

Had a chai tea and ham/cheese sandwich with my friend Charley. The sandwich was heated in a microwave so not the greatest but it'll do if you're hungry. Chai was good but couldn't been hotter Love this place. If you're in town stop on buy. They have a drive thru if you're in a hurry or sit on their big patio in the shade or sunshine. If it's cold, they have heaters to keep you warm along with your favorite beverage. They have a nice indoor dining room with a fireplace. Right now ( July 2022) there's construction going on outside on the main street (203) so it's noisy outside but bearable. They are the best local go-to coffee place in Carnation. Stopped by for a sandwich and a drink but they were no longer serving lunch. My daughter got a ham & cheese croissant and it was pathetic. It was one thick slice of ham and barely any cheese. Great coffee, friendly staff, decent food selection, but very, very noisy. They offer an office space upstairs that you can rent for an hour up to a full day. It's a great concept and the space is comfortable, but it's not enclosed and it's right above the entrance so you hear EVERYTHING. Any time they opened and closed the fridge or the front door (which was constant) it shook the entire upstairs. The voices of the baristas were piercingly loud, and the persistent chatter and yelling carried upstairs as well. I do realize they were just being friendly to customers, doing their job, and not realizing how distracting it was, but I left with several hours to spare that I had already paid for because the noise level was so extreme (it could even be heard while wearing headphones). Would not recommend paying money for that office space. Rent a study space at the library or a local community college instead! read more

This is a fun and relaxing place for a treat! When I was working remotely and my daughter was attending camp 40 miles from home, I set up my work station in a corner of the shop so I wouldn't have to commute to and from Seattle most of the day and could work productively. For the past few weeks I have been spending time at Sandy's doing work in the mornings. The friendliness of the staff and the great seating options make this a great place to be. Every drink I have had here has been perfect, most recently a delightful London fog with a perfect amount of sugar. If you are passing through Carnation be sure to check this spot out! read more

Today I had a tuna melt panini-- best one I've ever had! They have a lovely outdoor patio, I got to eat in the sunshine.

I don't usually give five stars but this coffee shop with a back yard drive thru was fantastic today. The coffee was delicious. My friend visiting for a couple of weeks had the best iced coffee of her trip. My breve cap was the best I've had in a very long time. A fresh in season strawberry scone was amazing. Moist, fresh and not too sweet. All in all a pleasant surprise on our way to Snoqualmie for the day. read more

Nice folks here. Although they weren't serving lunch today for some reason, we made due with some yummy pastries. I really liked The Blob, which was sort of a scone with ham, cheese and onion baked in. This is a nice stop when biking the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. read more

Locally owned forever. The best coffee I've ever had and there is a Starbucks just two blocks from Sandy's. Really good sandwiches and cookies too. My husband and I decided to take a drive and make Sandy's Espresso our destination, due both to their lunch menu and the availability of wifi. After driving all the way to Carnation, we discovered lunch is unavailable on Sundays and their wifi was down. I was given the password to a neighboring establishment's wifi network, but it was so slow I could barely get any work done on my laptop. We were both disappointed, so I opted to leave a comment on their Facebook page. A couple hours later, my comment was deleted and I was blocked from posting there. My comment even noted that the employees were nice, but that unfortunately that was the highlight of our experience. Thanks to their immaturity in deleting my comment, not only will I never go back, but now I'll probably go out of my way to let other people know of our poor experience as well. I'm really disappointed in all aspects of this place. It's a shame. read more

I felt that I should leave a review of my 'office.' I come here once a week to work on my grading, planning, and studies. The crew is always friendly, and I love their breakfast sandwiches and coffee. They have a great outdoor seating area, spacious upstairs seating, a two-window (!) drive-through, and excellent wifi (hence the office comment). As a small-town bonus, Sandy's fits in with Ixtapa and Pete's in terms of serving as the community meeting spot in Carnation. read more
