This is the second Dae Gee I've been to. I really like this location better than the one in Westminster. It's not that this place is better when it comes to the food, both places are the same. But the atmosphere here is a lot better. I feel like I'm in a little BBQ place in South Korea, or a little BBQ place in Japan. Loved that. Service was great. I think they might've been down a few people but they did their job great! We got the unlimited dinner, $24 a person. Totally worth it. The sides are all great and the meat is fresh and tasty. They changed our grill out without us having to ask, which is awesome service. Some other places don't unless you ask. I loved it. We'll be back again for more delicious food! Pros before I get started: Clean establishment taking Covid precautions. Unique dining experience. Went in on my birthday it was a Sunday afternoon to be honest looking back the host seemed a little agitated that we walked into his half empty restaurant without a reservation. Should've been my queue to leave, I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. You see I've been wanting Korean BBQ for years the experience I had here was far from what I had envisioned. I think the experience was cool cooking on the table but beyond that can't say I would return. Food besides short ribs and some of the sides wasn't super flavorful. My wife and I used to visit this restaurant many years ago when we lived in the neighborhood. Last night we decided to try something different, so we decided on Korean barbecue. We talked about different places to go, and then it was mentioned to go back to the place that we had visited before in our old neighborhood. When we arrived, the parking lot was full , and when we entered, the restaurant was about 65% occupied. we were seated immediately, but it seems that they forgot about us after being sat because it took a little time for someone to come to the table. The waitresses name was Dain, I think she did a great job, she was very informative and knew it very well. For the sitting location that we were at inside the restaurant, it was tucked away. Because each of the tables has its own little barbecue station/cooking fire, it was very warm in this room, and I was sweating. Within about five minutes of ordering our food and drink, the food arrived with all the fixings. we decided to go with all you can eat and the meat selection that they brought out was covered for two people perfectly because by the time we were done, there was only a few pieces left. The only thing that we did not care for was, the ventilation was not very good as the air was not moving. With each table having a cooking station with a flame the area became very warm. I think that if they had fan or some type of ventilation in the ceiling to move the air, I think it would've been more comfortable for us and I'm sure many other people. All the side dishes that come with Korean barbecue were awesome, the fluffy egg that we got in the crockpot or whatever it was was delicious. I don't think I've ever had an egg that way. Phenomenal dinner! Cravings satisfied, hangry banished! Tonite's date night, we did the unlimited BBQ with Galbee add-on...which I have to continue to recommend . It is worth it to enjoy samplings if each meat but definitely ask for seconds of the Galbee (the best) and Sogogi Bulgogi. The marinade is simple but abundent with flavor! The sides are unlimited too and they have a nice variety of Kimchee. Diners will definitely get their monies worth with this choice. As an avid Korean Bbq fan back in California, I really wanted to love this place. In fact, I gave it two different chances over the course of a year, hoping it would become my new Colorado K Bbq spot. While I don't think it's bad by any means, I always leave feeling underwhelmed for a few reasons. 1. The $38 AYCE option here is pretty overpriced in my opinion. Now, I realize inflation is hitting everything pretty hard lately, but this still comes in about $10 more than all of the comparable places I eat at regularly (take for instance Gen KBBQ in California at $27). 2. For as much as we did pay for AYCE, I wasn't super impressed with the cut or quality of the meats. Our second order of brisket was brought out as one frozen block of 1" squares that were almost impossible to cook because they were so small and frozen (looked more like fatty scraps than brisket). For $38 bucks per person to start, and after dozens of other KBbq experiences over the years, I just expected more for this kind of money. All in all, we ordered one coke (which had absolutely no carbonation), one beer, and 2 AYCE orders and it was almost 100 dollars before tip. While the KBBQ scene in Denver can't touch anything in New York or LA, Dae Gee is a "five star for the area" kind of KBBQ spot. As a new location in Aurora, it's better than the incumbents for KBBQ, including Aurora favorite Seoul BBQ (which has a lot of non-BBQ Korean food, so it's still really good). It has great service, high quality food, and plenty of banchan to keep you happy. One of the best things about Dae Gee is that it is probably the least intimidating KBBQ that any non-Korean will ever go to. Typically, the servers speak English, the menus are written by a native English speaker, and nothing comes as a huge surprise. The servers ask if you've done it before, and I'm sure they'd help a ton if you are a first-time KBBQ person. I've BBQed many times in the method of my homeland, and I still really enjoyed how accessible they make the menu for non-Koreans. The banchan is fresh. Meat tastes better than Mr. Kim's. And they're happy to hook you up with the meats like Arby's. The one bummer is that you only get one round of galbi without paying a huge surcharge, which is very sad. No place in LA charges extra for galbi, so that's just not right. If it's your first time doing KBBQ, here are some tips: - Go crazy on the banchan. They'll refill whatever you want. Do not call banchan tapas. - Start with the Chadol (brisket) to get the grill all greased up, and then follow up with the galbi (short ribs) so you get the good stuff while you're still hungry. - Since you're out of galbi, alternate between the brisket and bulgogi. - Do get the lettuce wraps (sangchoo) and make little lettuce tacos with your favorite banchan and meat. - Dae Gee has sauces on the table. This is not fit for human consumption, like it's namesake this is food for pigs. Subpar quality barely fit for human consumption. This lackluster dining experience was made worse by the explosive bathroom experience and uprising of vomit and half digested meat. The side dishes are truly sad, the famine in Korea ended nearly 70 years ago, this is nowhere close to Korean food. I was warned that this place was nothing special but having seen the Diners, Drive ins and Dives episode I risked it. I'm not one to complain but Guy Fieri must've been paid off or drunk to give his endorsement of the slop at this barnyard. Not only were we incensed by the poor quality of meat which all smelled of the animals they derived from as if the chicken was still clucking, the pork still oinking and the beef still mooing we were even more flabbergasted by the fact that an all you can eat meal came to $100. The sense of being conned and screwed out of money in exchange for what amounts to food fit for a prisoner of war camp cannot be understated. A guaranteed food illness and night of committing war crimes in the toilet, your toilet will never be the same. You'll probably have to move with the damage inflicted. If you have any respect for your stomach, wallet, and toilet. We realistically only ordered 3 meats - beef bulgogi, brisket, and pork belly. I'd be okay with a limited selection if it wasn't for the $30 price. You could opt in for unlimited galbee for an additional $20 which is ridiculous! Despite the price, the food was decent! You do have to keep asking and the servings of meat get smaller as the night goes on - but the meats and sides were solid. I came in for the official opening of Dae Gee's fourth location and was pleasantly surprised by the fresh, new restaurant style that is way trendier than the other locations. They now have patio seating in addition to the bar and regular indoor seating. The patio seating is absolutely awesome with garage door windows that make the eating area well ventilated (keeps you from smelling like kbbq for the rest of the day). The grills also cook the food way faster and cook longer before needing to be changed. I got the dinner unlimited all you can eat. The meats are of the same quality as the other locations, so they're not the best but worth the money if you eat a lot. I recommend loading up on the beef brisket. The side dishes as always are plentiful and all you can eat as well. Service here is fast and friendly. Check them out if you're in the mood for Korean food! read more

Korean BBQ is always a fun and exotic event for the uninitiated. From the strange cooking device in the middle of the table, to the variety of side dishes, to the various spiced meats on offer. Dae Gee does a good job of showcasing this cuisine. My family and I did the unlimited, because it seemed simple enough and was a good value relative to the pricing of entrees in the menu. However, I will have to return on my own because they have a kimchi soup (stew) that looked absolutely divine and Guy Fieri loved it. As for the meats - stick with the bogogi and the spiced pork. They both cook fast and are super tasty. DAE GEE's kimchi is fantastic - great flavor and not too spicy (though that would be fine), so go ahead and ask for extra when you order. Service can be a bit slow once your table has all the initial servings from all you can eat, so bear that in mind. read more

I am a huge fan of good Korean BBQ, and I admit, growing up in the Los Angeles, the home of K-Town, I was spoiled for amazing options like Gen, Mr BBQ and Baekjeong. Still, this was good, but it was lacking in a couple of areas. First, it was not very busy, but it seemed like pulling teeth to get one of the staff pay attention to you - staring, staring, staring right at them, then a moment of recognition that you are staring at them followed by pretending they never saw your staring at all, so they weren't on the hook to respond to you yet. Second, the variety they offer for the AYCE meal was pretty limited. Several of the meats were not all that tender, and they were sliced at inconsistent thicknesses, which made cooking them evenly take much more attention. Multiple times they meat was frozen so hard together that we had to cook them in a stack to separate them, which almost certainly meant they were frozen multiple times. Third, they didn't offer to replace the grill, even when it was completely covered with burned meat residue - we had to ask for a new one. Not a huge deal, but indicative of poor customer service, especially since they only had maybe 5 tables total to serve between 3 servers. Fourth, they were kind of stingy on how much meat they brought after the first plate. Once, I asked for more of the chicken, which was really good, actually, and they brought me back one piece that must have been about the size of half of one thigh. I asked for more, and they said, "one more piece?" - I answered 3, and they brought 2 even smaller pieces, and a "third that was literally like have a bite, in size." Fifth, they really need to step up their dipping options. They offered 3 different varieties of their same runny, lackluster in house bbq sauces. They didn't taste terrible, but so watered down/runny that the sauce didn't really stick enough to impart much flavor. There are so many good options here that are simple, like green tea salt (one of my favorites), to gochujang, to sesame oil salt and pepper, to ssamjang, that having just their 3 mediocre watered down sauces was very disappointing. They have a lot of potential, but poor execution in several areas made it a 3.5 stars in my book, if I could have given a half. read more

No matter which location I have visited, service is consistent and food is delicious. Ordering the all you can eat is the best way to go. If you do the math, you're only about $5 away from a dinner compared to eating all that your stomach can handle. The only difference between each location is the neighborhood that you're visiting. You have Broadway and Colorado Blvd which are in more hip parts of the neighborhood. Then you have this location and the Sheridan location which are located in suburbia. Overall it was a good experience, they were busy but I still think the service could've been a little better, and more attentive. Went with my in-laws, they didn't want bbq while we did, they went out of their make it harder for them to order something else 3. It's our eight yrs old birthday, we were told to bring our own utensils, no knife was allowed to use to cut our cake either. They brought plate and fork reluctantly, which kinda makes me doubt if they are the customer and we are trying to make them happy, never a good thing for a restaurant. 4. I've been to multiple locations of Dae Gee and been to the aurora location multiple times but it seems like it has gone downhill. We were a party of 5 and every time we asked for additional meat they would give us a serving for half (maybe one) person. Refer to picture. Once the meat was done everyone only got one or two pieces of meat. The same story for side dishes. We like our meat with lettuce. We would ask for lettuce, and the waitress would bring us 4 pieces of lettuce. Not even enough for one per person. Very disappointed. They also ran out of brisket half way into our service and didn't offer anything as compensation or discount or premium meats. Service is also disappointing - it took forever to get our refills, and when it did came the portion was tiny! It wasn't even busy on a Sunday night. There were plenty of empty tables all around us. One of the few places I've found (so far) in the area with AYCE Korean BBQ. Why isn't this more of a thing here, Denver? Because it needs to be. Came in on a cold Tuesday night for dinner with the bf and there was nobody in there. I can definitely see how this place would get crowded on the weekends though. Again, ACYE meat - what more do you need? It's a decent size on the inside - a good amount of family sized, picnic tables with grills in the middle. Something about this interior that makes me think I'm in an Asian land somewhere. Short ceilings, wood planks everywhere. I dug it. When we walked in, we were asked if we wanted a table with grill or no grill, so this may be a popular spot for those who are here for other things on the menu besides raw meat. Bee Beem Bhop served in a hot stone, for example, looked bomb. But that night, we were there for the Unlimited BBQ - $24/person for dinner and $18/person for lunch. Unlimited sides included for both with the main difference being that they don't serve the Galbee (short ribs) for lunch. This wasn't my fave anyway, so you're not missing too much. The faves for us were the chicken and pork bulgogi and our favorite anywhere you put us: pork belly. You order as much or as little as you like - service was friendly and quick when we were there. They brought the meat out in small portions, but this is probably not a bad thing. The menu states they will charge for excessive leftover meat. KBBQ on the East Coast means they will bring you the raw meat, but they will also come by often to cook the meat, check on it, take it off the grill when they deem its ready. Here, however, they give you the tools and you are on your own. I like this better though - I like a crispier pork belly, so please leave me and this meat to sizzle and crisp away in peace. After deploying to Korea for 3 months in 2015, my husband has been on the hunt to find a restaurant with the same authentic experience and flavor as Korea. With Havana hosting the most popular Korean joints, we decided on DAE GEE for the full experience to celebrate his birthday. SPACE/LOCATION: Located off Jewell and Havana, this little restaurant, isn't so little once you enter. In fact, the space is large! While the main dining room is small, the two attached wings are huge and accommodate parties large and small. The space offers ample seating and provides the coolest breeze from the open windows. While décor is minimal, it offers a peek into the history and origin behind the restaurant and is adamant about you - the diner - pigging out there! Parking can be tricky, as the space is located next door to a 7 eleven and surrounding businesses, so be prepared! BOOZE: All hail Soju! Having had the famed cocktail only once (when the hubs brought home a gallon of it from Korea!), I was excited to sample the various flavors offered. We settled on a bottle of Apple Soju, to which we sipped (and took shots of) throughout our meal. At 12% alcohol, they are delicious, but potent. Also, on the menu - various rice wines, traditional wines, sake and beer. Come on, come all! FOOD: Oh, my dear god. Never have I ever had this much fun. Meaning "pig" in Korean, Dae Gee offers traditional Korean dishes blended with American culture. While the menu features already made entrée's (all of which were seriously drool-worthy), we decided to grill up our own meal for a change. We opted for the all-you-can-eat dinner for two, which featured unlimited cuts of pork belly, pork bulgogi, rib-eye beef, chicken and brisket - with an order of short ribs! To accompany the meats, are a variety of sides - rice, cabbage kimchee, cucumber kimchee, potato salad, fermented onion and jalapenos, a kimchee pancake, pickled Korean radishes, fish cakes with vegetables and a dried white chili radish!! Because we were told the grilling process takes a while, we also ordered the dumplings as an appetizer to get our tummies ready! The meats were delicious, perfectly seasoned and melt-in-your-mouth tender! The short ribs were a favorite by far, with the pork belly close behind it. Three types of sauce are offered at each table, which are perfect for marinating, smothering or dipping! The experience allows you to sit back, have a cocktail and good conversation while grilling up a killer meal. PORTIONS: Now I know what you're thinking - how can two people eat this much food? To be honest, we couldn't! After round one, we were stuffed but felt compelled to go another round, just for the sake of it. Soon enough, I got the meat sweats, so stopping was a must! Our sweet waiter, knowing we were newbies at this, snuck us over a to-go box to bring home the extra goodness. Take note - one round, goes a LONG way! STAFF: Welcoming, friendly and determined to provide the best service, our server was on top of his game! We were greeted promptly by a young man who led us to a table in the adjoining wing. He helped us navigate the menu, offered great recommendations, ensured our waters were never empty, and checked in with us often! PRICES: Be prepared for your wallet to take a hit - as this experience ain't cheap - but totally worth it! At $24/person for all-you-can-eat, $12/soju bottle and additional appetizers, the bill adds up fast! Save for a special occasion and come hungry! If you value your privacy, don't go to dine in. Their website says you have to sign a waiver of liability. Upon arrival I found they require each person to provide their full name, email, and phone number to a third- party website to respond to C19 symptom questions. Then Staff must SEE each confirmation for each person...except little babies...before they seat your party. All this happens in the tiny space by the door, next to tables and the bar...where you can't socially distance. This third-party's site says they shouldn't be collecting info for anyone under 16. Also, the website SELLS your information and nothing goes to the CDC. Why not just have staff ask each person to confirm C19 questions and/or take temps like every other restaurant in the area. Also, don't bother checking in through Yelp. Even though Yelp lets you join the waiting list the restaurant isn't actually using Yelp. We've eaten here many times before COVID because the food is decent and I have hungry teenagers so the unlimited BBQ was perfect. We won't be going back after this experience. Their food isn't that good and there's plenty of other Korean BBQ places to give our money to. read more
