I had some time to kill and was starving. I decided to drop by because it looked quick and tasty. They only have a few tables available for dine- in and is a small hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered the steak fried rice bowl. It came out quickly and piping hot in a takeout bag and container. This dish came with their cream sauce for dipping or for smothering. It helped make the meat less heavy and their fried rice was definitely cooked in a stick of butter( not complaining). The meal was worth the spike in my cholesterol levels. First off, I ordered this food for delivery. The food was decent for the price and tasted pretty authentic. I wouldn't order the chicken egg rolls again because I felt like I needed some type of sauce to dip them in. They didn't taste too good plain and were a little dry. *Take-Out Review* Searched and searched for a restaurant to support that we have never tried before and we came across Sugami Hibachi Express. What a great find and everything was affordable, especially for a Hibachi restaurant. We ordered three different hibachi meals and after leaving a tip, it cost about $55. That's quite a steal because it would've most likely cost double that at Benihanas or the like. I was quoted about 45 minutes for delivery and the driver arrived in 30 minutes. Quick and easy drop-off and easy ordering system as well. The food portions were large and I got two meals out of my dinner. Not to mention, there was a free coupon on the site stating that if you ordered more than $40 worth of food that you could get a free 6-piece crab cheese wonton. Okay, y'all, these wontons may not have been the best I've ever had, but they were not skimpy with the filling. The wontons were busting out the seams and I was a happy camper. As for the hibachi itself, the rice and veggies were good and there was no shortage of yum yum sauce. Plus, they don't charge extra for fried rice! The chicken teriyaki had some weird seasoning on it which made it taste different than normal, but was still enjoyable. Terrible service. Walked in to immediate being screamed at by the worker. As I was just checking the name of the order I was delivering. Then her kid was playing video games right next to where they were packaging the food coughing. We received a menu in the mail and decided to check this place out. We walked in to order not really knowing how the whole hibachi express thing would work. The restaurant is a little dirty and a ton of to go boxes piled in the corner. It made the restaurant uninviting. We walked up to the counter to order and the chef came out and took our order. She was the only person working. Their prices are pretty cheap for hibachi food. Granted they are not cooking it at the table with you. I went with the shrimp, chicken and steak hibachi with brown rice. My husband got the same but with lo mein. The proteins were really good. I liked the sauce that they cook it in. The veggies that come with (broccoli, onion and zucchini) were lacking. I wish there were more veggies. The brown rice was not good. I actually didn't like it at all. It lacked any kind of flavor. The lo mein was really good. I will get that next time for sure. read more

Been here three times now and I really like this place. A few things is that if you want to dine in I'd suggest going during the day when it's warm. It's super cold inside at night because so many people going in and out. Other than that the food is cooked fresh I wouldn't wait too long to eat it either. I've ordered this place through Uber eats and by the time my food got here the sesame chicken and chicken skewers weren't as fresh. But the sesame chicken is really good and the chicken skewers are crispy when eaten fresh they are so good. They cook them with a teriyaki sauce. read more

Tried this spot when our go to was closed and we were pretty pleased. Veggies were tasty and portions were a good size. We ordered two hibachi plates and the wontons. I didn't care for the seasoning/lack thereof on the wontons and I recognize some folks like them a little sweeter- I prefer them more savory. They were nice and crunchy and hubster enjoyed them. The hibachi plates were quite tasty although aggressively seasoned- I'd rather have this than bland though! Well definitely be Coming here again and looking forward to trying other items on the menu! I drive 20 minutes out of my way at least once a week for their food. I get the chicken, shrimp, steak, and rice for $12! You can't beat that, and plus it is so much food, enough for 2 meals, and I'm a 200+lbs guy. Ordering online is super easy and they have always been super nice. I definitely suggest trying Sugami, especially if you don't have the time or money for Benihana or something, as I find it to be quite comparable, and $20 less. read more

Don't eat here! I found a dead fly in my delivery order. When I tried calling the restaurant to report the incident the lady on the other end told me, "There aren't any flies here. Come show me your fly!" Very rude, very upsetting. I'm headed over there after my post. I didn't want anyone else subject to this unfortunate situation. I saw the signs that said "Grand Opening", but I don't know when they opened. I was hungry and decided to give it a try. It's a very small neighborhood place and obviously family-owned. I was the only dime-in person, but I saw several "to-go" orders as well as several GrubHub drivers. I ordered won ton egg drop soup and beef broccoli. Those are some items I use as a "gold standard" to compare the proverbial apples. The broccoli was cooked just the way I like it: not wimpy and over-cooked. This was some good stuff. I ordered buffalo wings and the Japanese brown rice bowl with chicken. This might be the poorest quality of food I've ever paid to consume. The chicken was bland, unseasoned, over cooked and dry. It looked as if it was boiled not grilled. The "brown" rice is actually 90 second Spanish rice. The dish also included NOTHING but the chicken and rice. Not one vegetable or garnish in the entire bowl. The wings were soggy, stale with a generic buffalo sauce. read more

I've eaten food from here and I've delivered food from here, neither experience was satisfactory. The food is not good, it's not terrible but it feels like you could be eating something better. The food leaves you with disappointment and regret your decision to eat at this place. When I was picking up food for delivery it was also a bummer. I wasn't the only one, another delivery guy was there and was also upset with how they run things. He and I talked for a good amount of time and agreed that this place was bunk. We were there maybe a good 20 solid before the lady at the counter asked us if we were ordering or picking up(the 2 of us were the only ones in the restaurant). They must be very busy with online orders but still the food isn't good. If you're looking for a good Chinese spot, I recommend the Hong Kong Cafe on Dartmouth, I have my go to's on their menu but every time I try something new, it's a new go to. read more

This is my second time eating from this place. I tried going back but I think the business shut down bc of the pandemic but they are back. I ordered the fried dumplings, extremely delicious. It was better than my preferred place (masons dumpling shop) but this place was so much better. I ended up ordering a hibachi combo of steak, shrimp, fried rice, and vegetables. Extremely delicious. This place is terrible and it saddens me because it's walking distance from my home. I walked over to order my dinner and at that time no other customers were in the restaurant. The owner? a nice gentleman immediately got up and greeted me . I checked the menu and gave him my order. I paid his wife? and asked if I could please have a glass of ice water while I waited . I don't think the gentleman really understood me, his wife jumped in and said no water, I would have to buy a bottle of water. I explained that I just wanted a plain glass of ice water while my food was being prepared . She pointed to the glasses and said no I could not have any ice water while I waited . I would have walked out then had I not already paid. It was 80 some degrees outside and I just wanted a drink of water yet she was insistent that I buy bottled water. I mean really? I ordered 2 egg rolls and sesame chicken and walked back home to eat my dinner and have a glass of ice water! The sesame chicken could have been sweet and sour ckn with a few sesame seeds on it. I have been eating at this restaurant consistently since August 2020. I went from maybe once a week to about 3 days a week by November 2020 spending $15min just to feed myself. My favorite go to is the Hibachi Bowls, but to be able to add a $ extra meat always ensures I'm not gonna get hungry again before I go to sleep at night. In fact usually I have leftovers to eat later the night or by time I get hungry the next day. I have had other dishes there and I don't have a bad thing to say about any of the food. There has been a couple times where something was messed up; but I can honestly chalk it up as them being so busy but after letting them know they fixed it or made it right by my next visit. This food is pretty delicious and they're Yum yum sauce is something I always crave. Eating here is the only time I'm actually satisfied to spend $15 a day for a good hot meal. read more
