Cool coffee shop meets bar. We were feeling espresso martinis and happened across Da Capo. When we first walked in I was worried they were just serving coffee, but we asked about cocktails and were given their brunch menu which contained a variety of boozy drinks. The standard espresso martini was served with bourbon, but they were able to make me one with vodka upon request. Service was friendly, and even though there was only one bartender/barista working, he was easily able to help everyone pretty quickly.
We stopped in for lunch. I had the salmon burger which was good. It came with wedge fries which I usually like, but they seemed like they were reheated rather than freshly made. The salad with chicken was tasty. The cocktails had fun names and we liked them; although the one with lemongrass lacked lemongrass flavor - it was mostly sweet lemon. There's some outside seating, seating at the bar, and speakeasy feeling backroom. It was hot outside so we sat in back where the a/c was working best. We sat near the wall and I'm pretty certain I was bitten by mosquitoes while sitting there. I'm giving it 4 stars because despite the flaws, I would give it another try, probably for tea or cocktails at the bar and I really liked the salmon burger.
Really enjoyed this wine bar on the Upper West Side. The space is intimate and relaxed, the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable settling in for a drink. Not loud, not flashy, just a great neighborhood vibe. Service was excellent. Attentive without being pushy, which made the whole experience feel easy and unforced. The food was genuinely delicious and the drinks were even better. Everything we ordered was well balanced and thoughtfully done. This is one of those low key bars you're glad you found. We had a great time and will absolutely be back.
The cocktails were amazing! I want to go back and try some more. We came here just because we were early for our dinner reservation in the area, but this is certainly a hidden gem. We were seated quickly. The vibes are cozy and amazing. Will definitely return.
Prior to entering Da Capo, I had never tried a fish burger or filet sandwich. I took one look at the menu and became extremely curious to try something new and fun! I was thoroughly impressed with this salmon burger. The filet was built to be a generous thickness, which was seared to perfection. The arugula gave the slightest crunch and most subtle kick of spice (iykyk). The tartar sauce was rich and seasoned with capers, black pepper, dill, and other spices to elevate the flavor profile of the burger. The seasoned potato wedges were the perfect side to dip in either the tartar sauce and ketchup. I will definitely come back to Da capo, since the food and overall feel and ambiance of the restaurant exceeded my expectations! P.S. I could not find any reviews on this Salmon burger on the Da Capo page, so glad to be a reference for others!
Great service and perfectly made drinks. The charcuterie meat and cheese mix and match had healthy portions of meat (prosciutto and mortadella) and a bit less so of cheese. The bar area could have better ambiance but the back rooms are nice.
Came here from the Museum of Natural History. I was looking for a close bar to pop into since it was raining heavily. We had a couple of hours to kill before dinner so decided to stop inside. It was nice and warm in there which was nice and cozy from being out in the rain. I got two cocktails. My first one was a newer tequila based drink on the menu. It was good, but the showstopper was my second drink called the Yellow Jacket. It was a Mezcal-based cocktail that had a nice smokey flavor. Bar tenders were attentive, and we loved paying with the iPad. It was nice and easy. Drinks were a little expensive, but after all, it's NYC.
My friends and I came here to enjoy Happy Hour around 6 or so. It was so dark inside it felt like nighttime! I guess that's the style but we felt it was a bit too dark to stay for long during a sunny afternoon. We were one of few guests who were seated at the bar. There is also a back room area for a more relaxed dining experience. We enjoyed some of the happy hour bites - arancini (4 pieces) and bruschetta (5 for $10). The grape with cheese was pretty good, as well as the tomato bruschetta, but for each to be $2 it kind of felt like robbery. The drinks are where it's at - several types of spritzes each for $10! Wine or beer for $8. I enjoyed the Hugo Spritz, and highly recommend that drink here.
Lovely spot for an iced coffee and delicious baked good. The heat was sweltering and we stumbled upon this bar/cafe. The man at the bar was friendly and quick to serve us iced espresso drinks. I'll def be back to check out drinks and bites at the bar and cozy back room.
I love Da Capo. Great place for a date because the music isn't loud at all and look at this cocktail. Look at it. It was so good and refreshing, I probably had 3 that night. The bartenders are always really nice, and they don't skimp out on the liquor. They have fun names for their drinks. It's never crazy busy and I hope this review doesn't give away my place.
Da Capo is such a great neighborhood bar / restaurant! They provide friendly service and delicious food & drinks. For seating, they have outdoors and indoors, including the bar. It's narrow, but actually goes way back and they even host comedy shows at night. I've had the Salmon Burger and Da Capo Burger here and both are delicious. They come with potato wedges, which are quite heavy. So tonight, with my Salmon Burger, I asked if I could have a salad instead, and they kindly accommodated my request. The Salmon Burger was as delicious as always and the greens were fresh and tasty. They don't have happy hour yet, but hopefully soon.
The food and drinks were amazing! The burger was cooked well and the onions and cheese on top were great! It was a good portioned meal with delicious potatoes. The Provençal's flatbread, Arancini, and pasta dishes were also amazing. The tiramisu and berry tart were also surprisingly good. I didn't know what to expect for a cocktail bar, but the food was as good as the drinks. I had the big in Japan and it was super delicious and smooth. Wish it was more spicy. The ambiance was super nice. The lighting was nice and there is surprisingly a lot more room in the back. The chairs were also super comfy and the place was clean. The service was awesome! Our server was super attentive, nice, and numerous. It was a little slow to get the food out, but it wasn't too bad. Overall awesome place and we will be back!
I came on a Saturday late afternoon so there were plenty of seats and just two servers/baristas. They came at a leisurely pace. When scanning the QR code, it said the connection wasn't private for some reason. I got a cortado, which was filled to the brim. I also got the penne alla vodka which had prosciutto bits. They were good and satisfying portions. The counter could use some wiping. It's nice and close to some museums in the area. There's some outdoor seats.
Stopped by for a nightcap with my friend, and overall it was a great experience. The atmosphere gave me a speakeasy vibe, which I really enjoyed. The service was excellent, and you can tell the bartenders take their craft seriously and are passionate about what they do. I didn't try the food, but I'm definitely curious about it. We each had two cocktails, and every drink was good. My favorite was the Ciao for Now. It reminded me of an Aperol Spritz, which I loved. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking it out. Just keep in mind that it is on the pricier side. read more
HIGHLY recommend the macademia mochaccino. It is hands down the best coffee bar/cafe drink I've ever had. It's creamy, warming, not too sweet. In a word: magical. If you want the comfort of a rich hot chocolate without the sugar rush, go for this. Bonus: 10/10 vibes inside. Pop in on a rainy day and just exist here for a bit. read more

I think i have walked by this place a few times. Its hard to see because the place next door is closed. Stopped by for a cocktail with my daughter. And was pleasantly surprised. Cool vibe. Nice bar. And a nice lounge area in the back. Its a bit small. But nice. The bartender was super nice. Made us some great drinks. Will definitely be back for another cocktail and will try some food read more

We LOVED this restaurant. We almost didn't go having first misjudged it based on a vibe from a table outside and the lack of seating inside, as it's primarily more of a bar with food in the later part of the evening and a cafe in the day and early night. But, after walking out and then walking back in (and getting seated outside), things quickly changed ... First of all, Da Capo is truly charming and lovely inside (see photos), giving it both an intimate feel, but also a very modern, welcoming vibe. We sat outside, where are server was quick to greet us and couldn't have been more adorable or charming. Our expectations were on the low side at first about it being a bar with a cafe, but that also changed pretty fast when it became clear that Da Capo put as much attention and care into its food as it does it's libations. I started we started with the Caesar Salad. (Yum). My husband had the crab cake for his entree, which he loved. I normally am not a crab cake fan. But even I found it to be delish. For my entree I had the penne. Everything was wonderful. And it was surprisingly reasonably priced for the UWS. Definitely will be back. read more
How cute is this place? Order coffee and lattes with lite bites before 4 and then cocktails and dinner after 4pm! We went before 4 so we could experience both. The coffee was so tasty but also beautiful :). Loved the selection of shortbreads and accompaniments. The cocktails after 4 were so nicely done and colorful. We loved watching the bartender make them. We also indulged in some pasta and bruschetta. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Open now with safety measures in place. We came here on a rainy Sunday afternoon prior to seeing a comedy show at the Beacon theater. This place is small but very cute! When you walk in, it looks like a coffee shop, but then there's a bar, and if you keep going, there's a dining room in the back. There are cool art pieces, and the lighting is dim. I would definitely recommend it for a date night. They had music playing, which added to the fun vibe. There was one guy who seemed to be doing it all. He sat us and then came to take our order. I was not sure what I wanted to drink, and he asked me a few questions and made me an awesome drink. I always appreciate bar tenders who have skills and are creative. Since this is an Italian place, we both ordered pasta. I went with the Bolognese, and my friend ordered the penne alla vodka. We also got the potato wedges. The food came out very fast, but it was so salty. I tried both pastas, and they were entirely over salted. The only thing you could taste was the salt, I didn't even try to finish my food. The potato wedges were fine, just a bit mushy on the inside. I would probably return again and stick to the drinks since that was very good. Based on my experience, the food was just too salty. Maybe the chef was having an off day and went overboard with the salt. read more
Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for a small snack and a drink. Still brunch time, but not many people inside or outside. Was able to secure a small table outdoors without any wait. Between two people, ordered a Vegetable Quiche, Jam Cookie, Aperol Spritz, and a gin drink (total $35). The quiche is well balanced between the assortment of veggies, cheese, and egg. Not as greasy as some other spots and paired fine alongside the strong drinks. To note, they don't have their full cocktail list during brunch, but are willing to make some drinks on demand. Service wasn't too bad since there were only two people working the spot. Nice place to take advantage of the outdoor seating during the warmer months. read more

Diner food at restaurant prices. I came for brunch and ordered a grilled cheese ($17!) with a hot chai latte. I wanted some quick and easy as I had plans in the area. The chai latte tasted like hot milk with some spice residue..barely any flavour. And the grilled cheese is as basic as it gets. White bread..wouldn't be surprised if it's wonderbread lol..with a thin layer of cheese. Side salad and potatoes w onion and bell pepper. I should've gone to Shake Shack nearby and I don't even eat fast food. read more

Caveating this post that I never ate here and only sat at the bar (will update this review when I do!)... I'm terms of a casual bar scene highly recommend. Stopped in for a quick cocktail and a cup of coffee (what an awesome combo!) and it did not disappoint. Bartenders were attentive and friendly. I enjoyed a "Big in Japan" and if I had more time, I would have had MANY more! Great spot where locals pop in and out. Perfect quintessential UWS local bar! read more
After a stroll through Central Park, I randomly came across Da Capo. Totally unplanned and totally unexpected but very glad I did. I saw a cute outdoor eating space so I peered into the window and saw that they were open for brunch. The menu was chock full of your usual breakfast and brunch favorites both food and drinks wise but I decided to go with a tequila drink called the "Hauntingly Beautiful." I turned away to chat and check out the menu and when I looked up to see the bartender serve my drink it was easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing drinks I've ever seen. It was a beautiful lavender color with a dehydrated orange on top that gave incredible contrast. 10 out of 10 presentation wise. Truth be told, I had a handful of these cocktails as it was well balanced and just the entire vibe of the place was a pleasure to be in. Definitely will be back to sample a myriad of their menu options. read more
We used a pulsd deal and made for an amazing brunch! For $39 we got a bottle of prosecco with peach nectar to make our drinks and the two entrees were egg white frittata and the tortellini. Their menu on their website is outdated and shakshouka wasn't available, which was disappointing but the other food was really great! The frittata was very light and I probably wouldn't pay $17 for it if I came back and the tortellini were stuffed with goat cheese and covered in a super creamy, pesto, truffle oil sauce and was amazing. A definite added bonus was the champagne glasses came chilled and I appreciated that extra step. The waitress was also really upbeat and nice and made for a great experience! Da Capo is a very charming cafe during the day (before 4pm) and bar at night! The drinks and bites are all amazing, and you can literally stay all day. It's a great spot to go with friends or for a date! See below for what we had. Look forward to being back again soon. Excellent service. Just had coffees. Americano and almond mild cappuccino were very good. Nice space. So happy Starbucks closed. Here we are!! Came back for Sunday brunch. They just started brunch 3 weeks ago. Very nice small dining room at the back. Hidden. Attractive space. Having eggs Benedict, French toast, frittata. Comment on the French toast was best ever. Eggs Benedict I had with salmon was classic and good. Frittata is not really that. Don't do it. Steak tartare outstanding. Good find!! read more

Da Capo has become one of my "go to" places on the Upper West Side. It's my local bar and small plate food stop, as well as my afternoon café. As a bar, they have a nice cocktail menu and people that know how to make a good cocktail. They also have a nice bar menu from which my favorite item is the veal meatball, which is served with a red sauce along with some toasted bread and ricotta cheese. Very nice! I suggest you try it. As a café, they have a nice coffee machine and offer espressos, Americanos, cappuccinos, etc... They also have an assortment of biscotti, cookies and other sweets to go with it. The bar is cool and they play good music. There is a lounge area beyond the bar and another room for private events further in the back. I recommend you check it out. :) Cheers! read more
