After being turned away at the other Sipsteria location uptown, I walked over to this one hoping for a better tea experience -- and fortunately, this location doesn't have the same time restrictions on tea service. This space feels more like a full-service restaurant than a café. They offer a full menu featuring Georgian dishes, and my friend tried khachapuri for the first time and loved it. The server mixed the egg into the cheese tableside, which was a nice touch. I also noticed several people stopping in for an early dinner. Seating is comfortable but mostly communal, with long shared tables. My biggest issue here was the service, which unfortunately was very poor. Something as simple as getting sweetener for my tea required tracking down our waiter multiple times, and requests were repeatedly forgotten. My tea water even went cold while waiting. Despite the cute atmosphere, the service experience was frustrating enough that I don't think I'd return for a full meal. read more

Came here randomly because I wanted to grab a quick salad. Wow what a great surprise. You can always tell a good restaurant by how they prepare chicken breast. Great little place for a snack, quick dinner, or some wine or coffee. I tired the following: Aubergine Rolls- delicious eggplant rolls served with crostini. This was very refreshing and delicious! Tolma- meat and rice filled grape leaves served with yogurt. This was one of my favorites and very unique as I usually eat grape leaves cold. Boquerones en Vinagre - anchovies with potato and onion. My favorite dish I had. Such a great combination of flavors. Olives, wine, and cappuccino - very good Service is great and I definitely recommend the place. I also enjoyed the atmosphere! read more

Straight 10/10 for me. I really cannot remember the exact name of the dumpling I had, but it was so amazing!! The breading tasted so fresh, and when you bite into the dumpling, there is a beautiful juice. And I had the steak salad. As you can see, it's beautifully colored and was full of flavor. The servers were also kind! I found this place just walking the area and wanted to sit outside and eat. Would definitely go back! read more

Just go here. There's so many wonderful things about this. For breakfast, the pastries are excellent (you can also have the pastries any other time of day). The Georgian wine is surprisingly delicious. And they also have a wonderful anchovy dish - even if you don't like anchovies just try it. Staff is very friendly, seating is comfortable, tables are far enough apart that you don't feel crowded. This place is "a go." read more

We came in for dinner really wanting to like this place but it fell short. The Cornish hen in tarragon cream sauce was served completely flooded in a thick cream. The dish required maybe a couple of tablespoons of cream, tops. It became somewhat inedible. The chicken skewers were overcooked and dry. The lamb dish, while good in flavor, was very small for an entree portion. The salmon in walnut sauce was a good dish and reasonable serving size. It's a very cute place to sit and have dinner so hopefully they fix a few things with the menu. Otherwise, the staff was pleasant. A bit slow, but that's ok. read more

This is a welcome addition to the Upper West Side. I'd been to their original location in Harlem before. This second location is larger. They serve breakfast as well as coffee and pastries to go in the morning. For lunch and dinner they offer Georgian cuisine as well as tapas and small plates. They have an extensive wine selection and several cafe tables outdoors. The staff are friendly. They have a great happy hour featuring $8 and $9 glasses of wine. read more

Foodatainment! We absolutely love this place! Great for date night, a casual meal or a special occasion. The four of us tried 8 items from the menu. Everything was fresh. Great veggie options (and steak was delicious). The Georgian "boat" was like a reconstructed fondue (have to try it)! The dumpling was upside down soup (you hold it by a dough nob and sip soup out of it while you nibble). The menu has options for most diners. The cocktail menu was creative and the drinks delicious. Don't ever have a party here. I planned my 48th bday party at this location in May 2025. Posting in Feb 2026, since I am just now finding myself in control of my temper enough to post with regard to these pathetic managers. I came in person weeks in advance to say I would love to plan my birthday party there for 10-12 people. I was fully ready to spend a bit of time chatting with a manager or schedule a chat for an upcoming date and time. As it turned out, no manager was "available" -- like, ever -- or they weren't interested, go figure! I talked with one of the staff, who didn't know what the rules/requirements for a group were, so she gave me a lot of wrong info. (Not her fault, this was a MANAGER'S job.) I came back a few days later to sample the food for myself (spent $100+ that evening for a single person) and asked if I might chat or set a time to chat with a manager about my party. So a "manager" came out, supposedly "listened" to all my questions and tentative requests -- though I could tell she wasn't paying attention -- and assured me it would be great, literally, "whatever you want." BUT -- when I confirmed on the phone THE DAY BEFORE my get-together, it turned out they suddenly had a number of "rules" they never told me about. (They never actually listened to me, not even once...) One significant one -- I had made clear from the beginning I wanted permission for my friend to bring her special homemade cookies for my birthday, in lieu of one of their desserts, because we would be spending lots of $ there on food and wine (I had committed up front to starting by buying wine for the entire table), and these cookies were a specialty item of importance to me. Of course, the manager who wasn't listening had said, "sure, whatever you want!" It was only the day before that they announced I certainly could NOT have any outside food, and what was I thinking??? I was in tears the day before my birthday over it, and we had a HUGE shouting match on the phone. On the DAY OF the event, management popped in briefly, then disappeared, leaving their staff to handle me and all my guests. They never wanted to deal with me in the first place, and they could barely even face me at the event. No, I was not dropping $10,000 at their establishment, but I was committing a decent middle-class birthday party budget. It was my birthday, and I wanted just a TINY little meeting to plan for my group. I thought that was a reasonable request, but they had zero desire or time to work with me, couldn't care less, flat out LIED to me, and made me feel like crap. How DARE they be so flippant with a paying customer? Note that the STAFF was fantastic, handling everything professionally and comprehensively, as best they could. (At one point, I told one of the servers HE should literally take over as manager...) Management was absolutely AWFUL, and since they were not interested in having me or any of my guests there, I will never never go to that Sipsteria to EVER interact with them on any level again. Mixed feelings. I was there with a friend shortly after it opened, and it was fine -- nothing special, but a nice neighborhood spot. Then I went in alone earlier this evening and sat at the bar. First, the "hostess" crammed me into a seat next to two other people, even though there were other seats a little farther away that would've been much more comfortable. It was early enough so that no rush was expected. Second, it took at least 5 minutes before anyone gave me a menu and a small glass of water. I ordered a simple appetizer (3 mushroom dumplings) and a glass of wine. It took another 5 minutes for the wine to appear. The place wasn't super busy and there were empty tables. The wine should've come right away. And then it took at least 10 minutes for the dumplings to be served, tho' they were quite tasty. The water was not refilled. All in all, I would NOT go back on my own, and would hesitate before going at all, even with someone else, given the perfunctory service. A lot of people dine alone in NYC, especially at the bar -- and I do it often and happily. But I was really uncomfortable in this place. Went in for a late lunch/early dinner. There were a total of 3 people in the restaurant. I asked for a table for 1 and was told all of the tables were reserved, but I could take a seat at the bar (which I would have asked for if I wanted to sit there). I arrived at 415p for a cup of coffee and pastry at their bar. After receiving both at 425p I was told I needed be finished by 430p because they were switching to being a wine bar. After scarfing down the coffee and pastry no one in the restaurant could brother to provide me with a check or acknowledge I was there. What unappreciative customer service.
