Since they originally issued my prescription, I figured they could provide it quickly. I asked if they could give me the standard DMV vision letter. They told me the doctor "wasn't in," but then said that if I did a vision test and my prescription stayed the same, they could give me the report. Based on that assurance, I agreed and paid $90 for a new exam. After the test, they confirmed my prescription hadn't changed -- but then refused to give me the DMV report anyway. At that point it felt like a complete scam. Their refusal meant I couldn't complete my same-day appointment and had to start the whole DMV process over on another day. Because they wouldn't provide the report, I ended up buying a new pair of glasses I didn't even need just so I could finish my DMV renewal during the limited time I was in town. The glasses weren't optional -- their refusal forced me into it. I'm extremely disappointed. The staff gave me information that turned out to be false, wasted my time, cost me money I didn't need to spend, and left me without the simple document I came in for. Completely unprofessional and absolutely not a place I'd ever trust again.

This is actually a review for two Big City Optical locations, the one on Grand Avenue where Dr…read more Rassa did my eye exam and also the location inside Northbridge mall (by Nordstrom) where I found the eyeglasses. Both were very professional and caring. Let's first talk about the exam. Upon meeting Dr. Rassa I explained how my right eye was bothering me and it had been a while since my last exam (which was elsewhere). She had me take out my contacts and look into her equipment which was very state of the art. As wild as it sounds, I was able to see my eyeball and all the blood vessels in 3D on her big screen. Then we talked about my vision and current lens prescription. She took extra time to fully evaluate me as a new patient and answered all of my concerns. I never felt rushed and I could tell Dr. Rassa genuinely cares about her patients. As it turned out, I needed an eye drop prescription for a mild eye infection which was the cause of my discomfort. She called it into Walgreens for me to pickup on my way home. I was quite impressed when Dr. Rassa called me two days later to see if my eye felt better. After getting my new vision prescription I looked at frames on display but just didn't see anything that totally captured my interest so I walked over to the Big City Optical location inside the Northbridge mall and found a few I liked. Note: This location has the big designer frames like Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Cartier, Victoria Beckham, Persol, etc. Thankfully they take vision insurance on prescription eye wear because it can start to add up! George is the store's optical manager and he is simply fantastic!! He took time to help me decide which frame to order based on how I plan to wear the glasses. Was it just for reading or watching shows or would they be for long hours of computer work? We talked about the function and fashion for eye wear and he made the whole decision-making experience fun overall. Tell him I sent ya:) It took a few weeks for the prescription glasses to be ready. Upon pickup, George enthusiastically greeted me back to the store and made sure they fit properly. While I know he sees customers all day everyday, he made me feel like I was important and to me that's top notch service! Between Dr. Rassa and George, you can bet you have Chicago's best here to make sure you see your best. Thank you both for an exceptional experience.

This summer my friend got her glasses here so I decided to give it a shot too; I'm glad I did! First of all, there's a nicely mixed staff, meaning you have both younger, older, and both gender's opinion's at hand. Second of all, Dr. Ezra is so appealingly pleasant-he answered all my questions about contacts and my prescription. And third of all, I didn't know whether my plan had vision coverage, so within minutes they looked it up for me and broke it down step by step- I saved almost off on these unique detachable German glasses! He's by far the best eye doctor I've ever been to -- funny, smart, personable but most importantly extremely thorough. I went here today with the intent to purchase and was pretty disappointed. Not only was the salesperson unhelpful, she wasn't very friendly either. I almost felt like I was bothering her. I think if you're going to drop $395 on a pair of frames the people should be polite, friendly, and take interest in their products (and interest in their customer's satisfaction). I just didn't get that impression from this store. The only thing good about d'vision is that they have a nice selection of the frames I like. But there are much better optical stores in Chicago, like EyeSpy and Glasses, ltd. I'd rather go there. read more

Chris and D/Vision are serious professionals. I bought my first pair of glasses from them like 5 years ago, and I am a loyalist. They help me pick cool styles, are patient while I ponder, and then the doctor was great. He actually talked my wife out of glasses, as he helped her understand what the real problems with her eyes were. Then, after having my prescription glasses for 11 months, I dropped them and totally scratched the lense. Chris and the D/Vision team replaced them for free. It pays to be loyal. I'd never go anywhere else for glasses...and the art ain't half bad :) ! read more

My eye doctor retired and my friend Beth recommended both Dr. park and D/Vision Optical. I wish I knew them years ago! Dr. Park was prompt and professional and was really good to work with and understand my prescription options. The staff are all amazingly friendly and service oriented. My only comment is that I don't remember contact appointments being so expensive - remember when it was one appointment for both glasses and contact lenses? I am probably dating myself!
