What a cute boutique office! Chose this place for eye exam since it was close by and super cute. Staff was kind to call me the day before to retrieve information about my insurance to obtain authorization ahead of time. It was my 1st time using this insurance, and I didn't know what my unique user. Umber was. The staff over the phone (male...didn't catch his name) was SO helpful and patient over the phone. I felt like such an idiot bc I didn't know my user number but he helped me figure it out, no problem. Took less than a 15 minute walk down W Division. Office was extremely cool, clean and friendly when walking in. I was immediately greeted by 2 staff members (male, whom I recognized his voice from the call a day prior and a female), they went over what would happen. Filled out some paperwork and they ensured pens were sanitized and offered water. Dr. Park was out in less than 5 minutes. Dr. Park was very professional and knew his stuff. He was very thorough, quick, however I didn't feel rushed. He answered my questions about procedures and options I had with contacts. My eyes were irritated at the time fo the visit, so the doctor wrote me a prescription for some antibacterial eye drops without me having to ask. Dr offered me to view their selection of frames, and at no time did I feel pressured. I came strictly for an eye exam and contacts, but if you saw their selection of frames, it's an absolute frame dream! Jake was the staff that helped, and he immediately picked out a few frames, and he asked me what I was looking for as well. He found 3 frames I liked, even broke down the costs. I opted to think about it as they were pricey, but wow this place carries some of the most unique and cool frames I've ever seen! I've been seeing Dr Park for a little more than a decade. I find his contact lens fitting to be one of the best experiences I've had. I have "low vision" and need hard contacts. Poor fittings with other doctors have been painful and expensive. He doesn't act rushed and takes his time which has improved my vision and so my life experiences. Highly recommend for checkups and contacts. The front of the house, the eyeglasses part of the store has snappy styles but they are priced a bit higher. I've found it better to tell them my budget and then we can work from there. I've have been lucky to find something there that looked better than big box store but also not break the bank. They have also been helpful in case frames needed a screw tightened or an ear adjustment. read more

I have been going to D/Vision for ten years for my optical needs and have always been satisfied with their professional and business practices. I have good insurance through my job which covers most of my eye exams. Yesterday I was charged twice as much as I normally was for a basic exam and contact lens fitting. Something did not seem right so I called my insurance company and was told I should not have been charged that amount. I just got off the phone with D/Vision and was told my insurance only covers 15% of my contact lens exam because I was talked into the multi lens contacts without being told about the price difference. I paid twice as much as I should have. After ten years I will no longer be going to D/Vision because of this. I feel doctors should be upfront and honest about their costs to their patients. Just be sure if the doctor recommends any thing ask if it is covered by your insurance before you agree to it. read more

I found this eye doctor on Yelp when I was living down the street in Wicker Park. Over the course of 2.5 years I only got one exam, but I picked up contacts a number of times and took a peek at their frames. If I'm being honest, my experiences here varied a little. One experience wasn't very welcoming and came off a little pretentious. The next was just fine. The doctor that did my exam was friendly and informative which I really appreciated. However, one time they ordered the wrong contacts and made me feel like it was my fault. I've worn the same contacts and had the same exact prescription for years, so I couldn't imagine how I would have messed that up. The frames were way out of my price range, even with eye insurance, but they did have some nice ones to choose from. The office itself is very clean and modern. The convenience of just being down the street is absolutely what kept me spending money here. I recently received an email from them telling me is was time to come back for an eye exam. If it wasn't for that, I likely wouldn't have even remembered to leave them a review. Overall, my experience was just average, hence the average rating. My experience with D/vision has been a mix. My review is re the showroom. I had good service the first time I had glasses done here in 2014. My most recent encounter however not so much. I felt totally Pretty Women-ed except I wasn't in working girl attire, instead I swung by looking a mess after my workout. Could you imagine if i did? The guy up front repeated 3 times that my repair would be too expensive (thanks for deciding that for me). When we moved on to trying other glasses, I asked him for a quote, he requested my vision info (I didn't have it on me) and just chose not to price me out. Basically he made it clear he thought I couldn't afford anything in there. So I went to CustomEyes in the loop that had better selection, was treated very kindly, and got 2 pairs of glasses there. You walk in and are greeted by multiple smiling faces, pristine glasses displays, comfy seating, and of course a sweet water bowl for the puppies. What really made my experience so wonderful, was the fantastic human who picked out my new glasses, Austin. He was delightful, kind, and had a wicked eye for glasses that flattered a face. She had a great eye for frame styles that complimented my face and shared decisive input on which frames looked best on me. She helped suggested coatings that will protect my eyes against screens and the sun. Once I made my decisions some quick measurements were taken and I was good to go. I have been long over due for an eye exam, so I made an appt here since the place was close to me, and it's more of an intimate setting. Of course, I appreciated them taking steps to maintain a low capacity in store, as well as to wear masks, and taking care to providing sanitized pens for paperwork. Once my appt began, I even watched Dr. Park wipe down the chair and optical equipment before I sat down to begin. It was my first time having an exam with here and I really appreciated him explaining some of the reasoning behind my eyesight. I told Dr. Park that I also have a pair of computer glasses, and he was kind enough to make note of what my computer lens (mid-range since I'm near-sighted) prescription would be! One of the things I love about places like this in the city is the technology. I opted to have the image of my eyes taken rather than the dilation, in order to review my eye health. I love how simple it was, and Dr. Park talked me through the images and what he saw. I had to return to work, so it was also nice to not have dilated eyes the rest of the day! read more
