Dr. Ezra was kinda sassy to me the first time I went there, telling me I had been wearing my contacts all wrong (for the past 10 years) but that "it wasn't my fault" so he wasn't blaming me. Despite this weird attitude, I liked him. The staff is friendly and helpful, whether I am calling to ask questions or stopping in. I had to pay out of pocket for 6 month's worth of contacts since my insurance would only cover the first 6 month's worth. Because of this, D/Vision gave me 15% off, which made them cheaper than if I were to buy them from 1800Contacts. The only thing I'm unhappy about... I recently went to have my glasses adjusted. The girl helping me offered me a mimosa and diligently adjusted my frames that were very out bent out of shape. When I put them back on they felt great... until a few days later when they broke. The girl did give me a disclaimer that if she broke them she couldn't replace them since they didn't carry that brand. So now I can't get a new pair of glasses for 6 months. Damn. read more

I decided to finally face the facts that my left eye can't see jack squat and it wasn't much fair to my right eye. I checked with my insurance coverage and saw that D/Vision was part of my provider's network. I was able to book an appointment for the next day. I appreciate the extended hours since I typically work 9-6 and it can be difficult to schedule dr's appts. As soon as I got there the associate was eager to help me pick out my glasses while I waited to see the doctor. He listened to the style and look I wanted to go for. The eye exam itself seemed routine. I had been avoiding going to the doctor for a long time and felt that my optometrist was not happy about that. The turn around time to get my glasses back was 5 business days. The office kept in contact with me to keep me up to date. I'm very satisfied with the choice that I made. I can't say that my frames were cheap but they definitely made going from having two eyes to 4 eyes a very stylish adjustment. read more

This place didn't take my insurance, so the extent of my experience here was looking around and trying on frames, but the staff were still extremely friendly and helpful. The frames I looked at here were pricey, but they were unique and seemed pretty good quality. Gotta say though, I wish I had come here for my eye exam after I found out that it would have been less expensive here without insurance than where I went and got my eye exam with insurance. read more

I've been a fan of D/Vision for years, but only recently decided to set up an appointment for an eye exam. Overall, I had an excellent experience (as excellent as one can expect, that is) getting my eyes checked out. The doctor was thorough and explained things well regarding my vision situation and the selection is pretty amazing. The staff was very patient as I tested nearly every pair of glasses in the place before deciding on the first ones I tried on (of course). As a bonus, they take my vision insurance (VSP). Woohoo! I returned a couple months later and bought a new pair of sunglasses and had an equally positive experience. read more

Haven't bought a pair of glasses from them (yet) but I walked in here on a whim, since I'm in desperate need of new glasses. In the 16 years I've worn glasses and countless times I've shopped for a new pair, I've never found any place half as helpful as D/Vision was. I really can't imagine a better experience. I absolutely hate feeling lost when looking to purchase something, but I'm not sure where to start. The optician who helped me definitely knew what she was doing and made me feel extremely comfortable as if I were shopping with my best friend. It took a few tries to find the perfect pair, but that's probably because I had no helpful advice as to what I was looking for. I got my exam just a little while back. The doc is very thorough. I was getting contacts for the first time and he was very patient. Even though contacts did not work for me I tried three different pair. I am kind of glad they did not work since I love their frame selection. I picked a pair of Lindberg glasses that I love. I was being a pain but the staff was friendly as always. They special ordered them for me straight from Denmark. My wife will be going there soon. read more

THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!! If you are high maintenance, have had a bad experience elsewhere or just want old fashioned great customer service go to D/Vision. They go over and above to make their customers happy and keep them in a competitive environment. They right their mistakes and want to make sure you leave their story happy. I think they subscribe to the good news travels fast but bad news travels faster theory. They are a neighborhood place and seem to value their place on D/Vision Street. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon to browse in this Wicker Park gem & happily purchased 2 FABULOUS pairs of specs:-) Brian, my exceptionally stylish eye stylist was so genuine in his opinion of every frame I placed on my face, his taste is impeccable and took the time to tell me what pair would look the best. The atmosphere @ D/Vision is so breezy and sleek and makes you want to spend your money. The outcome of making a purchase is complete and utter satisfaction. The two pieces of eye candy I obtained has gotten rave reviews and I will continue to shop here because I know that the shopping experience and customer service will be consistently great. Please note that if you don't plan on spending money on quality eye wear then head directly to Lenscrafters where you are bound to run into multiple people with your same "unique" frame. D/Vision has a great selection of glasses & Lia is totally customer-focused & always has a smile. I recommend D/Vision 100% ++. I've had my eyes examined & 2 pairs of glasses made at D/Vision. After running my clip-on sunglasses thru the washing machine I took them to D/Vision to see if they could help. Lia did a great job of trying to repair them but they were too far gone & will have to be replaced. She gave me a reduced price & suggested that perhaps the lenses could be reused lowering the price even further. Because my glasses had to be sent in as well Lia took the time to "tune-up" an older pair of glasses that I will need to wear temporarily. She spent considerable time on them & didn't charge me. D/Vision clearly knows what GREAT customer service is all about. read more

Went in for my once every ten years eye exam and found out I did in fact need glasses. I liked everything about this place. My eye exam was efficient yet personal--I didn't feel rushed, or like I should have had my eyes checked much sooner. They have adult glasses for narrow faces - iGreen glasses! I actually had a minor problem with my glasses and had to go back. I was worried b.c it's a fancy store that they wouldn't fix them. The staff was super cool and it was not an issue at all to get them fixed. They were really great about making sure I was walking away happy. I would go back here. read more

Nicholas suggested what I should do about my broken sunglasses (they don't carry Gucci) and then helped me try on at least 30 pairs of glasses until I found the perfect ones. I have used DVision for two rounds of glasses and contacts and I cannot recommend them highly enough. EXTREMELY knowledgeable and professional service that is in stark contrast to the fast-food worker level of knowledge and helpfulness I have experienced at two other businesses who shall remain nameless ("Let me know if you want me to open up one of those cabinets..."). You will be greeted and helped the moment you walk in and someone will actually spend a good deal of time helping you consider frames, etc. Also, if you have problems, you can expect to be treated like a valued client. Needed a pair of nicer looking "readers" for work. After a few phone calls, D/Vision seemed to be the place to go. Walked in and Chris Foreit greeted me immediately. I wasn't spending much and was on a time crunch. Chris treated me like I was spending a lot more than I did and he was very efficient as well. Long story short, I could not have felt better just by the customer service alone. Even though the glasses I wanted were not available, he gave me a loaner until they come in. The staff are all equally as patient, helpful and knowledgeable which just adds to the wonderful experience. I first discovered this place last summer when Michelle and Chris (owner) helped me find a great pair of eye and sun glasses. They made such a great impression on me that I returned to D/Vision this year when I was looking for a new optometrist. I called Dr. Park regarding my special eye condition and he impressed me by calling me back!
