Stayed at the hotel across the street from diner. I placed take out order over the phone and walked over to pick up food. I ordered a pastrami breakfast sandwich .. the food quality was very good and made great. Only issue I had was the man working the register and seating people .... I looked at a case that had beautiful cheesecakes and other goodies and decided to take a picture to send my wife to see if she would like a piece of her favorite dessert cheesecake. The man started yelling at me saying No pictures No Pictures!!! I looked at him and said I want to bring my wife dessert. He said once again No Pictures ! So my food was brought out to me and I hand him my credit card .... He says to me would you like dessert? I looked at him and said No Dessert ! No Dessert! He said please don't be mad the case is half empty and it would not make a good picture. I told him I don't give a shit .... Not like I'm from the cooking channel ! read more

New York Diner at its best. Anyone thinking of opening up a dinner should visit this one first. Huge delicious portions. Inexpensive. Wonderful staff. Super draft beer. No room for free deserts. read more

FAKE REVIEWS!!!DO NOT COME!! I don't know how they were able to hire people to write good reviews while they were incapable to tell time. It takes them 10 minutes to "just ring the bill" and 20 minutes to "clean the table". Wasted 30 minutes while the waitress was doing her hair and on the f*** king phone. Do NOT come here if you want to be humiliated by the waitress read more

The food was decently priced, tasted okay, portions were very large and the atmosphere was nice. The server I had was very rude and wasn't very helpful. read more

We were in Middletown last week and the D Lux was within walking distance from our hotel. It was really good. Great choices of dishes, large portions and tasty. read more

First of all on google the restaurant has a 4.2 rating. Yelp has 3 1/2. Second. I ordered chipotle crab cake sliders with sweet potato fries. I thought it was gonna be sooo good but I was disappointed. The crab cake was sooo heavily breaded. Hardly any crab meat. Taste like I was just eating bread. Crab cakes aren't suppose to be breaded like that. Disgusting. The sweet potato fries where alright. I had some tea cause I was cold and that was ok also. Don't order something your used to out of town. Stick to what you know. Burgers and fries read more

We stopped in while staying in the hotel next door. The location was perfect for anyone staying in any of the hotels in proximity because you can walk over. The service is so fast and the food was incredible. Not to mention the price was very affordable. Would definitely go back if I'm ever back in town read more

I love diners! I very much enjoy coming to D'lux diner. I think the waitresses are wonderful. The cooks are great, the food always taste delicious. The supervisor Sal Sosa worked the entire diner greeting guest and handling orders. He checked in on guest at the table and knows many patrons as they have become regulars. He checked in on the kitchen or wait staff to see if they needed assistance. Recently there has been a change in supervisors. Sadly, Sal has left the diner. I hope the same warm professional style is carried on to the guest and patrons of the diner. I enjoy my dinner and people watch. It's my down time to decompress for the day. I loved that I could come in alone but be warmly received and sit at the counter knowing that I will be treated like a patron. Sal was very good at that! All the best Sal! read more

the host (man with the mustache) so so rude. food was meh, bland. the server was nice about our request, but the only thing was the rude host. he literally had us waiting so long for dessert & my mother tried to say something, he told her to "speak, use your mouth". won't be wasting my money here again. absolute gross behavior read more

D Lux Diner - Two eggs, turkey bacon with hash browns!!! - Diners Near Me - Middletown, New York

I ate here a year ago and was very disappointed. Today I thought I would give them a second chance. Everyone has a bad day once in a while. Big mistake! No home-fries, they serve hash browns and they were not crispy at all (Very mushy). The bacon was not cooked and inedible. The eggs were perfect though. Coffee tasted burnt. Trying to determine if I should give them another chance (three strikes and you are out?). I don't think so, there are so many good diners to eat at! Don't waste your hard earned cash! read more

This was a great diner to have a Sunday breakfast at, after a wedding. There are several hotels in this business park so having a couple of food options is great. The only other one I can remember is TGIF, which had not the best service when we went the night before. We were seated immediately and were provided coffee and water. It is a pretty standard diner but looked really modern inside. We got pancakes, omelettes and breakfast burritos. Service was great and we were checked on regularly. Pay up front. I'd recommend D-lux to anyone staying in the area. read more

Food was great. Excellent omelettes. We Loved the Gluten free pancakes! Server was attentive and did a great job even with a full station. We visited twice in 3 days. Wonderful both times. We'll be back on our next trip through town. read more

I was not impressed, with the food or the service. The waitress was nice as a button, the waiting forever for a philly cheese steak that tasted previously frozen and was not hot when it reached the table was disappointing. The pizza they serve there Is not worthy of the price. Stick to your favorite pizza parlor. I will definitely be sticking with the Americana diner on 211. read more

Very good food! My mother in law and sister in law and I went to lunch here after a day of shopping at Crystal Run. The soup was chicken and orzo and really hit the spot. Then we had the stuffed mushrooms which wow-ed us! They were huge and delicious! Then I had the gyros. It was very tasty and the fries were perfectly crunchy! Very happy lunch and we will come again! read more

Nice looking place with food not so good. My husband ordered meatloaf and mash potatoes. Meatloaf looked like a steak with bone in. Mashed potatoes were tasteless. I had a grilled cheese with home fries. Home fries tasted like old oil. Not impressed with the food. The place was empty on a Friday night. That said a lot read more

I asked the manager did they honor AARP discounts because I was on a fixed income and he said no so I had to dine elsewhere. Was there another time and wanted to use the discount card I purchased from the kids for school and they would not honor unless I paid cash. They are not senior citizen friendly or accommodating. read more

We stopped here on our way home on very long drive. It was extremely busy and we grabbed 4 seats at the counter. Our waitress was attentive and did a great job. Apparently no one is supposed to work the counter and the owner in front is us began to yell at her. My husband and I spoke up to intervene as our kids were becoming nervous and honestly we were sad for our waitress. The issue was the understaffing of the establishment which he was taking out on all the staff, openly. It was unprofessional and really took away from our experience and the delicious food. Word to the wise- take a table or booth so you don't have to watch the behind the scenes drama of this establishment. read more

Very good food. A step above what you'd expect in a diner. Friendly service, full bar, outdoor patio, very modern feel, wheelchair accessible if you need it. Prices are average...6.50 for a huge burger. read more

I love going to D-lux diner the food is great and the people are awesome:) and they even have outdoor seating so I can bring my dog:)

Food was fine, but the host was incredibly rude and we will never go back. He abruptly asked us to finish up and leave after 45 minutes saying he needed our table for a crowd, when there were half a dozen empty tables around us. Ruined my Mom's birthday lunch. read more

What happened to this place? Used to have a beautiful bar, great drinks and great food. Now since new people took over. it's absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms are filthy and there are fruit flies everywhere. To try and justify and say it's a problem everywhere is just sad. It's a problem in dirty places. One of my favorite places in the past. Now would not step in the place if you paid me. read more

We tried to have breakfast there on a Saturday morning and the tables were full so my wife and I sat at the counter. The waitress brought us coffee and took our order. So we have been going to this diner for a few years faithfully. As of recent a new owner has taken over. The food has gotten horrible. I wish had taken a picture to show. I will not be going back. Sad to say this diner quality has gone down the tubes read more

Amazing! Food was delicious, alcoholic drinks were very good & service was great! Will come back!

Drove 18 miles to have our Easter dinner here as we've eaten here before and have enjoyed the food. Things were fine until the waitress got one tiny side dish wrong. No big deal, right? That's what I thought! Apparently her error sent her complaining to the manager, who instead of letting things be, insisted that the waitress did NOT get the order wrong but insisted I had changed my order. Huh? At the end of the meal I (perhaps childishly) scrawled on a napkin "The customer is always right". Would you believe that upon reading my message the waitress yelled out in a loud voice for all to hear "No, the customer is not always right". I couldn't believe that after we spent $153 (including a $23 built in gratuity that this waitress was allowed to yell that out to paying customers in a crowded restaurant! The manager did nothing to diffuse the situation which empowered th rude waitress. Incredible! I am planning to speak with the owner- this is not the way to keep customers coming back and the hospitality was extremely lacking. read more

I used to like the diner but went there on Christmas Eve. The sign said open, but when walking in the guy was very rude and said we are closed . I said maybe it be a good idea to put a sign on the window to let people know that they were closed and he gave me attitude and was very rude, so I will not be going back to this diner, because the first time somebody is very rude to customers that come very often. read more

Really good breakfast food that's what I have tried so far. Service is also great! Prices are right. This will be my new to go place.

We decided to stop for breakfast on our way thru New York. We were not greeted when we went in and after waiting a bit we asked about being seated and were rudely told to "just wait". After we were seated our waitress did come right over to us. We ordered juice and coffee. The juice was not juice but was a powered drink mixed with water, like Tang. The coffee was very bitter. We ordered our breakfast and it came right out. Eggs Benedict usually takes some time. The food was cold, bacon very thin, fatty and rubbery. Hash browns we lightly cooked on the outside and raw in the middle and cold. The food was obviously previously cooked , not made to order. We spoke to the waitress and she went to the manager. Thankfully they did not have us pay for any of it. t read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Let's start with the first moment you walk in, there's a sour smell!! That should have been our clue to leave. Second clue uncleanness comes to mind quickly. The menus looked sticky and the tables were dingy just like the whole place. As we ordered I saw a fruit fly, as our food came I saw many fruit flies. They were ridiculous. The food was tasteless but the flies seemed to enjoy the smell of it. The server was okay but I don't think it's professional to call customers Babe & Honey. The manager did adjust the bill because of the flies which was nice I guess. The food is very overpriced and due to the other issues I would never eat there again nor would I recommend it as a place to eat. read more

Huge portions, flavorful food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and a pleasant, clean environment made our brunch a wonderful experience.

I was leary about coming here since the last restaurant here wasn't very good. This is my second time here in 2 days. Food is excellent (I rarely hand out compliments) and service is great. Nice atmosphere and sizeable portions not compromising quality. I definitely recommend. read more

Worst establishment ever. Took ages to just get water. Service is terribly slow. On top of the fact that I had a service animal on the establishment. Was told that was fine, apparently someone complained and was kicked out of the restaurant. was told I was a liar, and he was not a service animal. Don't eat here, the place is dirty as well. read more
