My husband wanted to take me out for a nice breakfast to a new spot. Well for me the first red flag was there was no one in the place when we arrived around 11 on a Sunday morning, if this had been just me; I would have tuned right around and left...but I wanted to be "open-minded". I'm definitely a foodie and very particular about my choices and where I go when I go out for meals. I had decided on the breakfast special of 2 eggs, sausage or bacon and choice of toast, English muffin. The waitress literally didn't ask me one question after I told her what I wanted and there were 3 questions that needed to be asked... scary. I spoke up and told her what I wanted since I could tell she was clueless! My husband ordered the club sandwich and she didn't ask him if he wanted fries or onion rings with his order...the manager had to come ask. This was looking really bad but I tried to stay positive. My plate arrived and the bacon was broken and undercooked (pet peeve) and I told her crispy please. The eggs were over medium and ok. The hash browns were literally soaked in oil inedible and the bacon was bad. My hubby's club was literally made with Spam !! Major lol ! He didn't think it was funny and I could hardly blame him, that's just not okay on any level!! Well needless to say this place was a joke and I'm shocked by the other Yelp reviews for this place. I went back and forth on 4 or 5 stars but I realize it is because I prefer unlimited maple syrup and it's my own fault if I didn't ask for "double more"instead of just "more". One tiny little container for a whole waffle. Another tiny container was "more". I decided to try to enjoy my waffle without it being syrup soggy...didn't work for me but unfair to ding a star when it was my choice. Food was delicious. I saw pics of bacon NOT crispy and I do not enjoy soggy bacon so I ordered it "extra crispy with NO FAT that isn't crispy" and it was perfect. I ordered hash browns extra crispy. Usually I don't like the soft part inside but these were excellent. My husband had the veggie skillet without broccoli and I was disappointed that I didn't see other veggies in it to make up for lack of broccoli. It was mostly potatoes and cheese. But he said it was fine. We're not biscuit people. But I thought the gravy without sausage was the best ever because I love lot's of pepper and it's definitely got PEPPER!!! And the country gravy flavor was excellent. The waffle was very good. It's a heavier, more course waffle and I enjoyed it a lot although for me I will not be embarrassed to doubt double the syrup next time. And yes...we will be back! My daughter brought me here for the first time for breakfast and I was presently surprised. This is not an area I frequent and I might have missed it otherwise. They are located in the strip mall on Moana. Just passed Kietzke Lane if you're headed towards Virginia street, it's in the general for sanity of the Atlantis Casino. Meals assigned to a schedule is truly relative to your culture, family or maybe the shift you work and I love a restaurant who "breaks the rules" and is able to allow their customers the options that fit them. You want pupusas, you get Pupusas - you want bacon and eggs, order bacon and eggs! Service is great here, warm, welcoming, and attentive. The feeling of being welcomed is honestly less common than I'd like to admit anymore. On this day, we chose to have a breakfast. My daughter had a traditional breakfast with bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and toast. I chose to have a chorizo omelette with sour cream. An awesome thing about this place is they offer you a choice of toast, pancakes, or French toast with your various breakfast items. Not every dish has this option but the ones we chose did. I personally love having a salty and a sweet component to most of my meals. FYI- Breakfast dessert is a real thing and having a sweet component, offered without an extra charge was a huge bonus! Everything was fresh, cooked to order! My daughter and I shared the pancakes for our breakfast dessert and they were fluffy, crispy and airy. I think my only complaint of the whole meal ( not sure it's really a complaint) was the syrup lacked a bit of flavor, like a generic syrup. I flicked between 3 and 4 stars.....over and over and over again. I had been to Ysenia and it was good. Not completely my thing, but good. Now it seems that D'licious is a rebranding of the Yesinia because they still have the awesome papusas but they are more focused on the Americanized items. It's a mom and pop type of operation, or at least it seems that way. The place is set up like a simple no-frills cafe. We ordered after a few minutes. My daughter ordered up the Moana Breakfast. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my wife ordered up a standard breakfast. And then I did a quick last minute papusa order for my wife and me to share. The Moana Breakfast sounded huge!! But when it came out, it was the right amount of food. For big eaters, this might not be the screaming deal you are looking for, but for normal eaters, it should do just fine. My daughter ordered her eggs soft scrambled, but I'm not sure they heard her because they came out as a pretty dry scramble. I really enjoyed my Bene because the ham was thick and the hollandaise was just what I would expect. All of the foods on our plates disappeared with only a few pancakes to take home in a to go container. Parking was limited when we went. The strip mall can be a little busy I guess. While D'licious Cafe won't be a "go to" for a Sunday or Saturday special occasion brunch. They will for sure be in the rotation when we just want a simple breakfast for a reasonable price. read more

We were searching for something new to to try and found this on Yelp. It used to be Restaurant Yesenia but must have recently changed names. We had never been to Restaurant Yesenia so we are unable to compare the menu offerings. We arrived a little after 11am on a Saturday and it was not very busy. There are about 14 or so tables inside and about 3 or 4 were occupied. We had a seat and were immediately brought menus and offered drinks. I could not help but notice they were playing old country music on the speakers. Although it was good older country music, I can't help but say that felt a little odd to me. We had heard when they were known by the old name that the papusas were very good so, we ordered an appetizer of the pork and cheese papusas and we each had water to drink. Although we expected something a little different, the menu is very much an American menu with a small twist of Salvadorian and Mexican. They have a variety of standard burgers, sandwiches and wraps, salads and a well rounded choice of American breakfast options. A short time later the papusas arrived and we placed our meal order. My wife chose the chorizo omelet which comes with pancakes and I decided on the meat lovers skillet which comes with biscuits and gravy. We dug into the papusas and both enjoyed them. We would highly recommend! Our meals arrived a short time later and looked good. Overall the flavor of each of our entrees was good but not mind blowing. Oh snap...legit El Salvadorian breakfast spot! Even the classic simple things were so good. We got a mixture of classic American dishes and some authentic El Salvadorian dishes. The breakfast burrito was HUGE! It was only $8 and they put all this good stuff like avocado. What is interesting is that they put breakfast items in it with some rice and beans as well. It was like fully loaded. My husband actually said it was one of the best burritos he's ever had and he's had many! Lol. The mixed pupusa was really good! It's a hidden little spot in a strip mall on Moana, near the intersection of Kietzke (close to the gas station) some of the best restaurants are. Parking is ample, and it's a small restaurant with about 15 tables. They are Covid compliant, with masks, and seating spacing. Other than that, our orders were taken timely, and we were offered refills of water, etc. I ordered the meatlovers skillet - it is on a sizzling cast iron skillet, and it came with a side of biscuits and gravy, which unfortunately must have sat in the window waiting for the other items to be ready because they were cold, so I didn't eat them. My skillet however was amazing! Crisp potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham, all sorts of pork goodness, cheese, onions, bell peppers. My friend ordered the spinach omelette and she said it was great. It came with pancakes (?) kinda weird but okay. She substituted hashbrowns, they were crispy, but to be honest, it was just too much food to eat for one person. We came and tried this place for the first time 2 weekends ago and have been back three more times in two weekends. Their Salvadoran menu had some really awesome dishes. Because both our families are from tropical countries, we enjoy ethnic dishes. Their soups came so close to home that we thoroughly enjoyed them. First visit the husband preferred beef soup and we ordered the platter for two that came with 4 asada pupusas, 2 tamales, a Carne asada, fried sweet plantains, beans, fried casava with deep friend beef, pico and other fixin's. Husband had the beef soup. Delicious! The tray was so big that we ended up taking the whole thing home for a couple more meals for the hubby. 2nd visit, I had the carne asada plate and hubby again had the beef soup and once again, we left very satisfied. 3rd visit, hubby tried the "pata" soup with cow feet, tripe and beef meat. He loved it so much, he said if only he could have their soups twice a day he'd be a really happy man. I had their chicken soup. Their chicken soup was an interesting twist. The chicken is separate from the soup and you have a choice of it being fried or grilled. I opted for fried--because I'm Filipino. It came oily with rice and salad, onions, lemon and cilantro for the soup. The broth itself came with Chayotes, carrots, spinach and potatoes. Here's the fun part, you take apart the chicken then put it in the stock. I thought it was weird but oddly enough, the chicken meat absorbed the broth and WOW! I loved it. And I actually had two different dishes in one order because I also ate the remaining chicken with the rice and the salad. I like their version of horchata too, I only have it at this place. So...This place is very close to the Reno Atlantis Resort, where my family stayed. We wanted to venture outside and find a local cafe or breakfast eatery. Less than a five minute drive, this place is so close and the breakfast menu looked great. Indoor dining was open with limited capacity. We have a big family, so we waited in the car just a couple of minutes to be seated. We were the only ones inside. It was very busy with takeout orders and started getting busy inside close to 10 am. The place is very clean and welcoming. Our orders were taken quickly and food was served fast! Their food presentation is great, right down to the glassware and dinnerware plates even. They don't overfill a plate, but instead give another plate. Most of us got breakfast menu items: the moana plate, spicy shrimp omelet and French toast. The food was delicious. We ordered pupusa combo, chicken poblano crepes, and a side of tamales. The highlights were definitely the pupusas! Very fresh and well-made. You can have many different flavors to choose from. I got the bean and cheese, which was filling and delicious. The inside was moist and flavorful. My husband enjoyed the chicken poblano crepe but preferred the pupusa slightly more.
