5 is for the food always great and with good flavor. Never disappointed. But the cleaning needs to be done at all times. Every time we come tables dirty and floor too. And people behind the counter always at times standing instead of checking tables or at least to ask if all is well. Service just saying.

I came here because my mom really loves D'Elia's Grinders, so I wanted to give it a try. I ordered the tuna sub and it wasn't great for me. The tuna-to-dressing ratio was off way too much tuna and not enough dressing, so it tasted pretty dry overall. On top of that, the flavor leaned more Miracle Whip than classic mayonnaise, which just isn't my thing. The bread is very hard and crunchy, almost stale tasting, but I know that's how it's supposed to be here. Still, it didn't help with how dry the sandwich felt. The inside of the shop is also very outdated, giving it a real old-school vibe. That said, I understand why longtime locals (and my mom) love this place it clearly has a loyal following. Just not the spot for me, especially for tuna.

With fresh rolls, generous portions of sliced meats, D'Elia's Grinders offers consistently good sandwiches. I keep forgetting how good this place is and need to remember how reliably delicious and fresh their sandwiches are. They are an institution. The place has been here since 1955! The building is well maintained, clean and organized. Staff is friendly and provides fast service.

Visited years ago and wanted to stop in again. This classic grinder shop has indoor or patio seating areas. Parking right in front. The toasty bread held a nice amount of veggies great when you're looking for a classic. Service was great and wait time minimal. Order at the counter and pick up. Right off university down the way from UCR.

Decided to redeem my bday cash with a D' Sicilian, grinder was basically half priced. It was Sunday at 11:30 am. Smooth transaction and while I waited (less than 10 minutes) I noticed great staffing, getting ready for the upcoming rush. Although the place was quiet, customer facing employees should at least appear busy. They were pleasant and helpful, I even bought a 70th t-shirt. The discounts and specials keep me coming back, not to mention the bread! It's the bread!

I love D'Elia's. But it's disappointing paying 16$ for a whole grinder and all your getting is practically meat and bread. Been coming for 20 years, but now I have to make sure I always ask for extra lettuce and tomatoes-which is an extra charge. Sad to see.

Ask the Community - D'Elia's Grinders

So how much meat is on a whole grinder? I am assuming two slices.

I didn't weigh the meat, but they are very generous with the servings.

Is there a vegetable sandwich available?

Absolutely, its the Loaded vegetarian!

Is D'Elias still offering buy one get one free grinders on game days as long as the Dodgers are in the playoffs?

Yes they are on game days. Enjoy😋

Last time I went grinder was dry and not enough lettuce. Was a phone in so didn't know until I got home. Also pasta salad was old and oily?

Hi, Rebecca. Thank you for the comments. In the last couple of years, we have received hundreds of "too much lettuce" complaints. Just recently, we made an attempt at putting on a more consistent amount of lettuce, and many (not hundreds) like… Read more

It's either Riverside or Los Angeles. The Los Angeles location is nice because it has standard restaurant seating and the vibe is full on Monty's! It's so cool! I hope they grow and open more locations. My husband and I just drove an hour to get to the Riverside location. We're only able to come once a month because it's so far away. We would hit it once a month if it were closer, maybe more than once a month. Service is always great at this location. They have stickers and buttons available. The seating is bar stools at a counter inside the food lab. The food is amazing! It's always perfectly made and it hits the spot when we miss the Monty's plant-based chicken. The burgers are good. Love the fries and tots! Definitely do the "maxed out" tots or fries. Those are the best! I love the kale salad and add chicken on top. My husband loves the chicken burgers. We always bring friends here to try Monty's plant-based grub! This place rocks.

Fries and tots were decent. Would love to come back to try the dog and chicken sandwich. Service was quick. They had a good amount of counter seating but it was pretty busy. I absolutely love their mascot though and they have free stickers that look like him. All food is vegetarian friendly! 100% plant-based.

What sets Urban Skillet apart before you even take a bite is the integrity behind the food 100% non-GMO, grass-fed, organic, and halal. You're not just eating something delicious, you're eating something you can feel genuinely good about. And the flavor? Every single item on the menu is addictive. I have yet to find a miss. The side sauces alone are absolutely elite!!!! The kind you think about days later and use as your excuse to come back sooner than you planned. Knowing that this place started from humble beginnings , literally setting up tents and grew into the brick and mortar gem it is today in Riverside makes every bite taste even better. You can feel the passion, the pride, and the hard work baked into everything they do. The staff moves at the speed of light, endlessly accommodating and genuinely friendly every single time. I've dined in and DoorDashed multiple times and it's always amazing, that consistency is rare and speaks volumes. Urban Skillet deserves every single star and more. A true Riverside treasure.

The restaurant has a casual, trendy brunch vibe and the menu is full of creative options that sounded really good. We tried the Brisket S'Mac Wrap, the Eggcelent Morning, and the truffle fries. The brisket wrap was flavorful and filling, with a nice balance of savory and cheesy. The Eggcelent Morning was solid comfort food and definitely satisfied a brunch craving. The truffle fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and a great shareable side. Service was the one downside. It was not very attentive, and we waited longer than expected for check-ins and refills. It was not terrible, but noticeable enough to impact the experience. Not to mention, it was not very busy at all around the time weren't, which was on a Wednesday around noon. Overall, the food was good and I would come back, especially when in the mood for brunch. With a little improvement in service, this could easily be a great go-to spot

Classic California food: burgers, sandwiches, burritos, and breakfast. You name it and George's…read moreprobably has it. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Situated in a seedy corner lot on Magnolia and Harrison, don't let the semi-dilapidated surroundings fool you; this place is no joke. Try not to let your guard down while you are eating truly the best burger you can get in Riverside. The price is fair, but can add up quick as refills are not self serve or free and additional sauces (beyond ketchup and similar condiments) are not complimentary. Ranch is just shy of a dollar at .90¢. As much as I loathe paying extra for sauces, the amount of fries they give you seems to justify the upcharge, but, in my opinion, they should charge for EXTRA sauces and maybe include one with a combo. Seems nitpicky but those who need ranch with their fries can sympathize. Their breakfast special is fine, and you very much get what you pay for price and food wise. Again, start adding sides and the price becomes reminiscent of non-fast food sit down diner prices and, to me, that is not justifiable here. As far as other things on the menu, I cannot vouch for the wildly popular breakfast burritos but they were being ordered nonstop while I was visiting. I have tried the pastrami but it was very salty; but that's the nature of the game. With a menu like this, you are bound to hit a roadblock at some point. Just come back and try again. All that being said, this place really is quality and gives a quantity that you don't really see very often. My personal suggestion would be to get a chocolate milkshake with the burger combo, that's what really makes this place a 5/5. You won't regret it. Those in the know, know about George's. Try to be in the know.

Just don't go when the "owner" (old white guy with glasses) is cooking because apparently since he is incapable of folding a breakfast burrito with eggs overeasy he won't do it. A ten year old can do it but it's too messy for the owner and he refuses. Any other day it's never been a problem for the other real cooks. Imagine being a restaurant owner that serves half Mexican food and American and you can't fold a burrito because the eggs are overeasy? If you are incapable, stay out the kitchen and stick to running the back end. The cooks probably despise when he shows up to "help" as he slows everybody down with the pace of a turtle. But he's the owner and it's his restaurant so screw the customer, no exceptions. It was a simple request but I guess he doesn't need the business and he won't lose any sleep over it.

Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and the customer service was fantastic. We ordered a kids chicken tenders and fries plate, which was perfect for our son. We also tried a few extras including the mac and cheese, a beef empanada, a blueberry and cream empanada, and a chocolate chip cookie. Honestly, everything was so good. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, and both empanadas were a standout, especially the blueberry and cream for a sweet treat after our meal. For drinks, I had the house white sangria and their seasonal lavender hibiscus lemonade, which was super refreshing and a perfect pairing with the meal.
