The man who represented the company (Lars) knew every tree name and made great recommendations, When the crew arrived, they were perplexed and didn't know where or what forsythia bushes were, then when I showed them my oriental dwarf maples, they didn't have a clue how to shape them. He called Lars and was given things to say to me , like it's a personal preference how to shape an ornamental tree. Incidentally the tree was already done shaped however overgrown about. Next the worker started to tell me that the original plan to cut a branch above the weeping cherry was wrong, and 10 branches needed to be cut. At this point, I realized that I was dealing with nonprofessionals. Not Arborists. When I called Lars he said he would stop over but was not going to stay to supervise the job. It was prudent to stop any work before it got started because the company was misleading . Do not hire

I did a lot of research and talked to many different companies before selecting Vinny and his team…read moreat Primo Landscape Design to install a new walkway and level/seed my dilapidated and rock covered front lawn. Vinny was the most knowledgeable and with the fairest prices. From the start, Vinny understood the complexity of the grading, while his competitors did not. His team followed the exact manufacturers specifications when installing the walkway (it is essential not to skimp on these base materials). Additionally, his team didn't simply seed the lawn, they sowed the seeds and seeded at the same time, essentially double seeding the front yard. They also took the extra step to use shade grass seed for the areas that did not receive direct sunlight. His team was prompt, efficient, and tidy. The quality of workmanship is outstanding and I have received many compliments on my beautiful walkway and lawn. I would highly recommend Primo Landscape Design for any landscaping project that you have in mind.

We had an initial consultation to discuss our needs and the cost however after some consideration, my focus of the work I wanted done changed and therefore needed a new price. Well this joker thought it would be ok to just start the work and upon completion sends a picture showing the trees and shrubs were taken down BUT he never had our approval to proceed! He never told us the cost. WHO THE HELL DOES THAT! He claimed to have called and says no one answered. There was no voicemail there was no text, this unprofessional landscaper took it upon himself to just do as he wanted! He comes to my home, without approval and just did what he wanted ! Then to top it all off, he asks to be paid when he doesn't even do the job I asked for and when the remaining work is pointed out, he has the "you know what" to say, that will cost you more money! This is my third time using H&G tree service and I can truly say they have done an amazing job…read moreevery time. Mr. Humberto and his family are some of the hardest working people you will ever meet. They show up early and don't stop working till the job is done. I called them because, some tasks are not do it yourself stuff. I have an acre full of trees and some are more than 50 feet tall minimum. Over the past two years he has removed over 16 very large trees from my property, including completely grinding the stumps, trimming large tree branches, cutting down dead tree trunks and even cleared some evasive thorn bushes that were destroying my lawn. After they finished, they removed all the waste from my property, filled in the holes with dirt and did a fantastic clean up job. Amazingly every time they finished, all in one day. Before I called H&G, I shopped around for quotes and found out that Mr. Humberto had best the prices and was fully insured. I highly recommend them. H&G, thank you again for being honest, on time and being true professionals. See you soon.

I called for treatment for Spongy Moth Caterpillar infestation and was advised I would need 2…read moretreatments - 1 in June and 1 in July at $600 each. The team came once in June, which seemed to work. There was no evidence of continued infestation after that first treatment. To my surprise, the team showed up again only about a week and a half later still in June for our second treatment. I later learned from multiple reliable sources, including a NY.gov webpage, that Spongy Moth Caterpillars turn to moths by the end of June. I believe I was oversold, so I made a few calls and sent a letter. I paid for the first treatment, but contested the second. The billing department is threatening collections and transferred me to the Plant Healthcare Manager who admitted some trees need 1 treatment and some need 2..."we sell for coverage." I asked him to clarify and he said they sell 2 in case 2 are needed. I have left 3 messages for my salesperson With no response. Incidentally, we still have nearly complete leaf coverage.
