I called them because, some tasks are not do it yourself stuff. I have an acre full of trees and some are more than 50 feet tall minimum. Over the past two years he has removed over 16 very large trees from my property, including completely grinding the stumps, trimming large tree branches, cutting down dead tree trunks and even cleared some evasive thorn bushes that were destroying my lawn. After they finished, they removed all the waste from my property, filled in the holes with dirt and did a fantastic clean up job. Amazingly every time they finished, all in one day. Before I called H&G, I shopped around for quotes and found out that Mr. Humberto had best the prices and was fully insured. I highly recommend them. The day Deneen and his crew arrived to do the job, I foolishly paid Deneen $450 in cash and in full prior to completion of the job. Shame on me! I thought that since Deneen was an acquaintance through a mutual friend, he could be trusted. Deneen left his crew to do the job. Deneen returned later and pulled his crew off the job just before the job was actually completed. Deneen told his crew that "they had been there long enough". I spoke with and texted Deneen during the week to find out when he was gong to return to finish the job he agreed on and was paid in full for. His response in text to me: " Dave I'm done, 5 hrs. x $26 an hour for my main man $22 for my other man plus dump fees, fuel chipper,bucket, truck, I'll pocket $100, DONE" and "Dave I'm done did more than I should have I should never have agreed to that, wanted to help you out but we're done, should have went with your neighbor landscape or for $500." So I guess the key word in Deneen's text, AGREED, means nothing to him. Funny way of doing business with your customers, especially ones that you know casually through friends, no? The biggest job I've hired him for so far was to brace/strengthen and refinish my deck. I had the decking replaced last year, but didn't get around to finishing it after it had seasoned. A year passed and the wood was starting to look dry and cracked. My little daughter couldn't go out barefoot anymore because she would get splinters every time. Kris gave me a competitive quote and made an excellent recommendation on a material to refinish and protect the decking. Now the deck looks brand new, it has a little bit of texture to provide traction if it's wet, no more splinters, and it's super easy to clean.
