Our initial home inspection last year did not include the chimney and we really wanted to start using it this holiday season. We needed a chimney sweep + inspection. Pete's company was thorough, professional and very reasonably priced. They showed up the next morning and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. We used our fireplace that night and very happy with the results. I would recommend. read more

Pete responded to my inquiry right away and let me know when he could come over. He came right on time with all of the equipment he needed, and did the job thoroughly and efficiently. I just moved so this was the first time I had the flu inspected. He cleaned it , let me know what he found, explained things well in ways that respected my intelligence without assuming I know anything about chimneys (which I don't! Well I know a little now ha ha). He told me how to use it without getting smoke in the room and what to do if that happens. Pete is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and very professional. I recommend him highly! read more

Knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend Pete for fireplace cleaning.

Pete was straightforward and easy to communicate with over text. We needed a fireplace inspection after moving in, and he was transparent about the process. He arrived on time and didn't push any additional services. We'll reach out again in the future for cleaning! read more

Pete and a crew of three cleaned my chimney and flue. it was way overdue. 2 guys were on the roof and 1 inside working from the fireplace. They were super efficient, cleaned up after themselves, and did a great job. Pete explained everything they were doing clearly and concisely. The price was reasonable and I am very pleased with the work. Thank you, guys. read more

Contacted Pete's Chimney & More this week to inspect 2 chimneys in a newly purchased home. I was quickly put on the schedule. Pete and crew arrived promptly and began thoroughly assessing the chimneys. I was given an excellent education about the type of fireplaces I have and how they work. I was given a written estimate with a detailed break down. I was also told what I could personally do for some repairs; with that said I've decided to have him complete the work. The honesty from this company is refreshing and I wouldn't hesitate to call them for ANY other needs. read more

Pete's Chimney & More - Pete's Chimney & More - Gutter Services Near Me - Congers, New York

Whenever I've had a problem with my roof, chimney or gutters, I text Pete. His response time is lightning fast! And, he shows up when he says he will. In fact, he often arrives earlier than planned! His team of workers is absolutely fabulous. Not only are they skilled and detailed in their work, but they are also some of the nicest, most respectful guys around. Pete has done a number of different things for me over the past 4 years...gutter cleaning, chimney cleaning, chimney restoration/maintenance and even had his team remove an errant drone from my roof (it was not mine!), but the most recent work was the most impactful. After the recent storm, my 19 year old roof sprung a leak! While Pete indicated the problem area could be repaired, due to the age of the roof, I decided to go all in and replace it. Within a week, I had an estimate I'd challenge anyone in the industry to beat and the work began. Over 2.5 days, Pete's team worked their butts off to replace my roof. Not only was their work impeccable but they also were diligent about cleaning up! I am not at all worried about finding roofing nails in my driveway or lawn. And Pete...well, Pete is so incredibly knowledgeable about his trade. He is one of the most decent men around and is such a pleasure to deal with. He never pushes more than what is actually needed. He is open to conversations about future improvements and makes reasonable and honest recommendations. It is obvious how much pride he takes in the work performed and how he continues to value both his customers as well as his reputation. Pete also makes his rounds to check on the work and its progress...sometimes you won't even know he was there (I caught you on my Ring camera, Pete!). Please look no further than Pete's Chimney service. THIS is the right company to get your job done right! read more

During the last torrential rain, my roof began to leak around the chimney and into the kitchen. Pete was recommended, so I called and left a message. He got back to me immediately, came the next day to check things out, and set up an appointment to begin work the following day. I was so impressed with his timely response. The gentlemen on his crew are wonderful. They covered the skylight to protect from flying debris and even vacuumed around it. Everything outside and on the roof is immaculate. I highly recommend Pete's Chimney!!!! read more

Although I live outside their service area, Pete was more than willing to answer my chimney-maintenance related questions over the phone.

I think Pete and his crew are very knowledgeable and expert about their chosen field and do quality work. But my experience is what he really excels at is selling his service, talking a good game, and insuring that he gets the most money possible for his service...and I suppose that is all part of doing business. He will make you feel that he is the only one that can solve your problem adequately and that it is best to act fast to insure receiving the 'specially ordered parts' in a timely fashion. But the work he did for our house was extremely pricey and unfortunately, due to a difficult family situation, we were just not in a position to get other quotes and estimates. That was a big mistake. I think we paid quite a bit more than the going rate for the work they did. I would absolutely not use them again for any roofing or chimney service. And if you do, I would strongly advise you get other estimates before signing on. There are plenty of contractors of this type in Rockland that can handle your repairs. read more

Great service! Very quick and efficient. Can't highly recommend them enough!!! Thank you for a great Job! read more

I have used Pete's Chimney & More for my home's needs for the past five years. Pete and his crew have replaced shingles on our roof, done our annual chimney sweep, and cleans our gutters. Pete's customer service and the way he operates his business is positively top notch. He is incredibly responsive, flexible in his hours to meet our needs, and the work he does is well done and efficient. One of our best interactions with Pete was just this week when we had a gutter downspout leaking due to a blocked drain. Pete came after hours and got on the roof in the pouring rain and unclogged the block and waited to make sure it was draining properly. Do not hesitate to use Pete - his business is top notch! read more

I contacted Pete at 10:45am with concerns about a broken flue damper. After speaking on the phone, he was at my home same day at 12:30pm. Incredible. He showed up masked up, professional, and friendly. He inspected my fireplace and was immediately able to tell that this was an easy fix that didn't require repairs. Pete saved me over $800 of replacement parts and inspection. All he charged me was his reasonable visit and service fee. You cannot put a price on honestly and sincerity. After other chimney companies gave me an estimate of over $400 months ago, Pete walked in and solved all my fireplace problems without taking advantage of me. This level of professionalism, trade knowledge, and honesty is refreshing. I would recommend him to everyone. read more

A great experience. In the end i Was not able to use Pete and his guys for a cleaning but still an writing a review because i had a great experience. I recently purchased a home with a wood stove and wanted to get it cleaned right away. Pete was able to fit me in his schedule during the busiest time of year. Him and his guys we on time and professional. He showed me issues with the chimney that need to be addressed by another company first, instead of just doing the cleaning improperly. He recommended companies and did not charge me for stopping by. This guy is not out to just take your money he will do what's best for your home. Thanks Pete. read more

Today I was in my Grandmother's home and around 9am I hear a lovely man singing "lying sack of sh*t...lying sack of sh*t..". Disturbed I go see what is going on to find out my Gran called for this company's services and unfortunately had to cancel. Apparently Pete or whoever the bald man was that greeted her at the door did not get this message. She later showed me the text proof of cancellation and a response back from someone on the other end agreeing to this. The "song" I heard was him on his way out letting out his frustration. Some miscommunication happened somewhere but it's pretty disgraceful to use those words about a 75 year old woman while in earshot of residents. Unprofessional to say the least. Won't be recommending. read more

We were so impressed with Pete's Chimney & More!! Peter came with a mask and was very respectful of social distancing. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and explained everything he was doing. The business is run the way all businesses should be run. The customer service and workmanship are above and beyond. The owner makes sure the work is done right and the customer is satisfied. I gladly recommend this business to anyone in need of chimney services. read more

You can tell from the first time you speak to Pete that he is a stand-up, straightforward individual and that is how he runs his business. He and his crew were always on time, responsive and helpful from the receptionist to the guys on the roof. It was a pleasure working with Pete and I will certainly continue to use his services for my chimney, roofing and gutter needs. I am not an easily impressed consumer, especially in the world of contractors and construction where I have some first-hand experience however when you come across someone or something that is the "real deal" you should take notice and support those kinds of local business and I am happy to do business with Pete's Roof-Top Services and would recommend them to anyone. My only constructive feedback to Pete and the crew would be to SLOW DOWN when you are answering questions. Sometimes Pete is talking so fast you can barely keep up with him :) Some of these services can be unknown to the uninitiated homeowner or legitimately expensive so it is important to make sure your customers understand what they are signing up for and do not feel like they are being rushed. To clarify, Pete is really not a pressure sales person, far from it but I can just tell he is already thinking about the next job or anticipating what I might say (and interrupting me) while I am talking through the work with him he is that efficient and "on it" and that can be off-putting for some people. A very minor quibble in an otherwise very satisfying business transaction. read more

I scheduled an estimate with Pete to look at my chimney. I wait on roof as Pete climbs fire escape to meet me to look at the job and give me an idea what he thinks is going on so he can work up a price. He climbs up fire escape pokes his head up, sees that I have solar on the roof and says "nope not interested- I don't work on flat roofs!". Pete never even gets on roof or looks at chimney to see what the job is and to see there is plenty of clearance around chimney to work on it despite the solar. I don't know what easier situation there is for a chimney guy to work than on a flat roof- this BS response should indicate this is not an honest person. WTF Pete? Couldn't you even walk the 15 feet to look at the chimney? I took time off work and got my ass on the roof. read more

This company is extremely professional and went above and beyond to help with our chimney issues. Our house is over 2 hours away from the office however Pete came and gave me an estimate the day after we spoke. They completed our repair and have come out since (free of charge as we are still under warranty) to fix minor issues that have needed repair. They are courteous, neat and prompt. I highly recommend Pete and his crew! read more

Pete's Chimney More company is great, quick and efficient. I tried for a few weeks to find some chimney company for a simple task which was to replace one of my chimney caps which broke and fell down. Most of the companies were not interested or tried to arrange some extra work, since it wasn't worth to come only for that. I almost gave up, then I called Pete. He told me that he'll pass by for an estimate within two days (thanksgiving morning). I didn't believe it, but he did it. At the same day I approved the quote. The next afternoon I called to ask when they will do the job, Pete replied that the job was already done. What a great service!!. The only reason I deducted a star was because they left a company advertising sign on my property without asking for my permission. Other then that, I recommend this company warmly. David. read more

This company heavily advertises and promises quick, efficient, affordable and quality service so I gave them a try. In my opinion: they are quick and do return calls promptly. However my experience was a low quality rush job where they tried to upsell me for seemingly unneeded repairs/services. Additionally the company is not a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG) a member agency that ensures proper knowledge, training and standards for the industry. Regarding your response to my review: I appreciate the follow-up and that does show that you are concerned about your company's reputation. However I can assure you that I was an actual recent customer and not a competitor or an "internet troll." A subsequent licensed contractor in good standing, advised me that the recommended repairs to an unrelated vent pipe were not necessary. read more

I called Pete's to request a wood stove chimney sweep and evaluate a roof leak around a bathroom vent. Pete's met my expectations: Responded to my call within a day; set up the visit for the same week; showed up in the scheduled time slot, and honored Covid safety practices (masks etc.); did the job quickly and efficiently, answered all my questions (went above and beyond on this!), helping me to make necessary decisions; pointed out all issues they noted, with good explanations and photos from the roof; and provided immediate and reasonable estimates in writing, but did not pressure me at all. Price was reasonable. read more

Great service, thorough consultation. They were able to do the work in one day and complete it efficiently. I found them through yelp and I figured I'd add on to the reviews because this kind of service deserves 5-stars recognition. I am very happy with my decision to work with Pete's chimneys. read more

If you don't want to read the whole review (it's on the long side), here's the summary: Pete's Chimney and More is a business that will exceed all of your expectations with work that is first rate and an owner who goes out of his way to make the experience so user friendly that for once you won't dread the process of needing to have work done on your house. And now for the details... We needed to have the chimney on our house repaired. I called Pete's Chimney, as I had water leaking into the attic from a crumbling chimney. Even though the answering machine said that they were on vacation, within minutes I received a return call from Pete and had set up an appointment for the day after New Years. When I picked up my mail on 12/31, however, the estimate was already in my mailbox with a clear itemization of the work that needed to be done. The estimate was more than fair, and given his willingness to come out on a holiday, I knew immediately we were moving ahead. Pete runs his business as if he is taking care of his family, as you feel as if your problem is his problem. He was able to make an appointment for the end of the week, keeping in touch with me to let me know when he was coming, what to expect, etc. The work is actually for my mother's house, and as she is elderly and disabled, he went out of his way to make sure she would be comfortable with all of the plans. Ultimately, he was able to move the work up a day taking advantage of the nice weather, calling me to make sure that this would work for my mother. When his team arrived, they immediately got down to work not even stopping to come inside to warm up, and it was a very brisk day! (They even passed on pizza in order to keep working!) The work done was top-rate, with the chimney angles crisp and clean. The work area was tidy the entire time and was left immaculate looking better than when they had started. (I'm not making this up; they had a leaf blower to make sure nothing was left amiss!) When the team left, I had a question for Pete and within minutes of texting him, he replied. I called him, and he went through his answer in detail explaining how the chimney had been reconstructed. While his answer far exceeded my question, I so appreciated his willingness to spend the time making sure I was completely satisfied with all parts of the job. In the end, the job was even more thorough than I had expected, and I now look forward to my new chimney's long life! So often, and rightfully so, people write reviews when things don't go well. I'm not sure that we spend as much time writing reviews when things go well. In this case, I could not be happier or more pleased with my interactions from start to finish with Pete's Chimney and More. Pete's integrity as a business owner and the expertise of his team stand out making me thrilled to see that he offers many other services that we will be able to use in the future. If you are looking for someone who is honest, thoughtful, and who will work with you to get the job done the right way, you don't need to look any further than Pete's Chimney and More. read more

Pete is a hardworking, honest family man. He has been to my house twice in the last few months and both times I've been very satisfied with his work and that of his employees. The entire experience from start to completion was very positive. Pete and his crew repaired my chimney and completed a partial roof replacement. The men came when expected and finished as promised. Everything started out great but then went down hill extremely fast. Service and cost I started with was good until I had to have the roofers come back to fix the same job they worked prior because it was not done right and they made errors. The roof then started to leak again and the roofers came back to fix it once more but this time I had to pay more. The problem still was not fixed and all of a sudden the polite service I got in the beginning was out the window and was told to find someone else to do the job. That's "good" service for you........... I got other professional roofing recommendations from around the area and all found that the job that was done was not industry standard, poor workmanship, and wrong. In total I wasted a few grand to have another roofing company come in and fix the issue correctly and also by industry standards. I learned my lesson here. Cheaper price does not always mean quality work unfortunately. read more

Horrible. Stay away. Pete and his clowns came into my house broke my chimney and then denied that he broke It. At first refused to do anything to fix his mistake and then proceeded to put in a sub standard replacement in which every time the wind blows I get a ridiculous backdraft that I never had before. I made the mistake of choosing a coupon over a recommendation. Don't do the same. read more

We contacted Pete's Chimney to have our chimney cleaned at the end of last summer. When the crew who came went on to our roof they found that out chimney was in very bad condition. He took a video of all the issues for us to see for verification purposes. They came back and basically rebuilt our chimney, put new flashing down as there was none installed when the chimney was built and replaced some shingle on the roof due to water damage from the non-existent flashing. We were not happy with the issues as we had only recently bought the house and this was something the inspector should have picked up on. However, the job done was excellent again with video footage to show what had been done. Both videos were texted to me. read more

Generally I don't write reviews, but after meeting Pete and then hiring him to do chimney work and replace my old roof, I thought it warranted taking the time to express what a good experience it was. I was a little surprised, yet impressed when it was Pete himself who answered the phone when I called to schedule a consultation and estimate. Very often I've found that I have to leave a message and then wait until someone calls me back. Pete arrived at my house within a few hours of my initial contact with him. While on the roof he took a phone video of the roof and any damage or areas of concern that he observed and narrated what it was he was seeing. While on the roof, he sent me a text message of his narrated video so that I could see exactly what needed attention. When he came off the roof, he and I spoke about what he'd seen on the roof, he listened and addressed all of my questions. I found him easy to communicate with. By the end of the day, Pete promptly emailed me an estimate of the job. I agreed to hire him. Pete sent a crew over on Monday 8/17/16 to do the work to the chimney and on the next day, work began on the roof. Pete said that his crew would arrive by 7:30 AM, not only did they arrive by that time, but the five man crew were already on the roof and had begun to work by 7:30. The crew seemed to work non-stop through out the day. They managed to complete the entire job in a single work day. They wrapped everything up at about 6:30 PM. I was very happy that the roof was completed in just one day (the house is a split ranch). There were still two minor things that needed to be addressed: first was the placing of the chimney cap and the second was installing zinc stripping. Pete himself showed up each of the following two days and took care of these remaining issues. Overall it was a very good experience dealing with Pete and his crew. I found Pete to be very responsive to my calls and questions and I was impressed that he completed the two minor remaining issues promptly and didn't abandon the job prior to it being fully completed. I didn't have to continuously chase him with phone calls to come back to my house to finish the job. Kudos to Pete and his crew of excellent workers. I had a very good experience with Pete and would highly recommend him. Jim H. read more
