We have a flat roof which was always problematic - A&J installed a high tech, continuous fabric which solved the problem. They also installed a leaf guard screen on the gutter which has worked very well but due to the flat roof, it accumulates leaves and debris. Our Roof was replaced by A&J Reliable in June of 2023 in Tappan NY. They did a great job! One day rip off roof and replace, plus full flashing on chimney and trim. They removed all debris with their truck (no Dumpster sitting on driveway for days) there was not a nail or debris anywhere on the lawn or driveway. Amazingly job at a very reasonable price.. called them to clean my roof. they insisted i needed an additional gutter repair. i hired them. they cleaned my roof and messed up the gutter they were allegedly 'fixing,' so that i got water damage inside my house. when i called them they sent a guy with a tube of silicone caulking which looked horrible and did not completely fix the problem. they make like they are local, but they are actually a big multi state company that does not give a crap about your community. read more

Our house is in a very wooded area and the gutters have been clear of debris the whole time. A&J comes in the spring to clean off pesky spring blossoms that cling to the edges (yes, for free). What a great experience! Perfect communication, very responsive, fair pricing. The work was completed quickly and the staff was very professional. They cleaned up the site after replacing the roof that had been reroofed previously, so they demoed 2 roofs. It took one day to complete and at the end of the day, the grounds were perfectly cleaned and all nails had been picked up from the driveway and yard. They did get a fair amount of tar on my deck though because of the old shingles and roofing material which was thrown down on it but they came back the next day and cleaned it all off. In 2013 they installed a new roof on our hone. We had no problems with leaking since the roof was replaced. We recently had a small problem in the ceiling of our downstairs laundry room. I called A&J and they promptly sent a crew to inspect the problem. It turned out to be the flashing of one of our exhaust vents needed replacing. The vent flashing was replaced on the spot at no charge and there has been no more leaking since. If u are considering having your roof replaced I highly recommend you consider using A&J. read more

UPDATE: I recd a call today from Joe. I want to make clear that my deposit check of $1000 was never cashed. The money was never the issue. Joe indicated that he asked someone to drop off samples since he was going on vacation. The issue is that when returning from vacation, there was never any contact made by the company to follow up on sample choice. Had there been a call, I would have told him that no samples were ever delivered. My issue is the total lack of Customer Care and Service! Elissa D We contracted with Joe for a metal roof on our front porch in September of 2021. He took a $1,000 deposit which was given to him by check. Due to material shortages, which I understood to a point, dates for installation kept moving out! Several times, Joe advised that he expected material to come in and he would have someone come out for some measurements. No one ever came. Early summer in 2022, Joe called me and said that the issue was the color of the metal chosen and I asked him that were there colors that were more available. He assured me there were and he was to drop off samples before he went on vacation! Never heard from him or the company again! I did call the company several times but never received any information other than someone would check into it and get back to me. Never happened! The company's ads tout their customer service as the best! Did not happen for me. Have not heard from anyone since this past summer and the check has never been returned. Now that I am a yelper I am giving credit where credit is due. A & J Reliable is the best roofer in Bergen and Rockland. They came out to fix my roof after hurricane Sandy. Other roofers wanted me to tell the insurance company one estimate and charge me a different price to cover the deductible. I couldn't get mixed up in that kind of situation. He has 20 reasons for why he does not want my job, including that I have solar on my roof, and because he's certain he knows what's wrong without even looking. UNRELIABLE ! My home was under warranty from a previous owner and they would not honor the warranty ! They sent workers to fix the leaks and made it worse! They Blamed the leak all on the chimney and made excuses ! I had multiple roofing company's come and tell me that the shingles were installed improperly ! Now I have to replace the roof as well as the carpet and furnishings in the living room ! They give you the RUNAROUND and take advantage of the elderly ! NEVER EVER use them!!! Don't believe the other reviews FAKE NEWS I have had everything done to the chimney ... repointed waterproofed relined sealed with tar new crowns painted with concrete paint ... and still leaks ! You told me it was the chimney it is not !!! Three other roofing company's Stated THE SHINGLES WERE Installed IMPROPERLY!! They replaced the flashing as well and it was never glued on !! They are a NIGHTMARE !!! The new roofing company stated that the flashing you replaced was never glued on as well !! I had an active leak in my roof. I call A&J since I used them for my gutter cleaning. They sent a guy without a ladder! Since I had a contact for gutter cleaning with A&J, the roof guy told me to wait the few days and see if their gutter guy could see anything! Meanwhile, I had water coming into my living room! I had to call several days later and the roof guy said "Oh, the guy that did your gutters didn't say anything to me about a leak, so I guy it isn't coming from your roof!" I KID YOU NOT! I have nothing but good things to say about A&J Reliable Inc., Joe was great and kept me informed through every step. I was having trouble finding someone to replace my skylights. All the other people called in wanted to replace my roof which was not even 10 years old and in excellent condition. I called this company recommended to me by another contractor and they called me back within 1/2 hour and set up a appointment for next day. Inspected the roof, took measurements and immediately gave me a fair estimate. I agreed and they called back in two days to do the work a day later. My old three skylights were wood made by Anderson Windows and difficult to remove but they were persistent and completed the work in one day. Thank you so much for doing a wonderful job. NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY! They used a toxic compound to clean a roof that sent the occupant of a neighboring home to the ER, effected another neighbor, and killed a hummingbird. The worst thing is they continue to refuse to divulge the chemical components to those poisoned OR to their MDs so that appropriate treatments and prognoses can be found.
