I was overwhelmed and hesitant about finding another roofer to fix our roof. There had been a leak that was slowly getting worse, a leak that was not fixed properly by the last roofing company a few years ago. Who could I trust?? Did we really need a new roof ?? Can anyone fix this leak?? I had several estimates, had 4 different companies come and tell me what would fix that leak. The range of remedies was vast and varied in costs. CHARLIE with ON THE SPOT was the first to come take a look. Right away I was impressed with his knowledge, he was very kind, respectful and professional. He came when he said he would, took pictures, & explained everything so that I could understand. He found the problem that the other guys didn't even mention & it made perfect sense. He is honest and that is a gift beyond measure in todays world. My Mother and I felt totally safe with him and he even encouraged us to follow thru with the other estimates I had scheduled. In the end, we hired ON THE SPOT and are so so so glad that we did. They were on time, worked quickly, were very clean and cleaned up any shred of debris from the job. They were mindful of our dogs, keeping the gates closed even when our dogs were inside. AND THE LEAK IS FIXED!!! We just had a massive drenching a few days ago AND IT DID NOT RAIN IN THE KITCHEN!! NO LEAKS!! THANK YOU CHARLIE WITH ON THE SPOT! We will be telling our friends and family and will definitely hire them again as they do home improvements as well. Knowing that you have someone that you can trust in all aspects is priceless...so glad we found ON THE SPOT read more

I would not recommend On The Spot under any circumstances. Immediately after signing the contract, the red flags started popping up and did not stop until I was abandoned in an endless field of them. It felt like my project was managed like a game of hot potato, with no one person taking responsibility from beginning to end, but instead, by lots of people who seemingly never collaborated and also managed lots of other projects as well as evolving roles within the company. The subcontractors that they used to do my project varied wildly in terms of the quality of their work and experience. Working with On the Spot is not an experience I'll ever reflect upon with any fondness. Everyone has that friend/neighbor/realtor's nephew who had an awful experience with a contractor. Well in this case, I am that friend/neighbor/realtor's nephew and On the Spot is that contractor. Look elsewhere. read more

Where do we begin? I actually found the service from a referral as my sister used them to build a stunning screened in porch and Wyckoff. We had them come to provide an estimate to refurbish our front entryway, brick steps. Ultimately we landed on hiring them because we knew that they were going to be the experts we wanted. Keep in mind, the company isn't necessarily going to be the cheapest (we had several estimates) however you certainly get what you pay for (in a good way). The project manager that we were working with Maryann, was absolutely phenomenal. Any inquiry or additional ask that I came up with along the way (and I'm a perfectionist so I can be a little annoying) she addressed in a prompt manner. Not only did we change the scope of the project as we uncovered new obstacles along the way, but I even pivoted after we got a brick delivery to ensure the brick matched. They were happy to pause and go back to the brick supplier to ensure they were getting the exact tone I was looking for. Gio was our masonry and after using him, I don't think I'll ever use another masonry other than him. I work remote and was able to see a lot of the work he was putting in and it truly is a craft. He took his time and made sure he cared about things even unrelated to the job. To give you a sense of professionalism that this company brings to the table once the project was done, and I was absolutely floored by the results, I found Geo spreading a pile of new mulch we had put on the side to backfill areas that were hard to get around during the renovation. They were so polite to my young children and even interacted with my 3 year old often to let him see the big construction tools in action. This company is the real deal and if you're looking for something to get done at the highest professional degree while maintaining on time scheduling and above and beyond expertise, these are the folks for you. read more

We are very pleased with the work from this company. It is just big enough to have a wide range of capabilities and small enough that the owners know exactly what's going on. Project managers make sure everything gets done right. The last 5% so to speak is what many contractors get wrong and then ruin the job. These folks get that final 5% right. If there's any issue they will stand behind it and fix it They use a team approach which seems to work well. read more

We got a gable roof built for the front of our house and installation of a sunsetter awning. The team was professional and courteous and knew their stuff. Highly recommend this company for home improvements! Thank you Justin, Chris, Roy, Osman, and Fernando! read more

Good guys good team , Done my loft , price was fair work was very good. I would use Austin again .

I stumbled upon On The Spot Home Improvement at a charity event. I set an appointment with the owner Mike, and he was a consummate professional from the beginning of my project till the completion. There were many surprises (common for a 100 year old house), but Mike and his crew took it in stride and were still able to finish the expanded project in a timely manner. Highly recommend Mike and the Boys!! read more

Due to a large storm, a tree fell on my Grandmother's house. I called On The Spot Home Improvements for repair. Maryanne, the point person, was excellent. She constantly kept me abreast of planning, scheduling, and what the workers were doing on X day. My Grandmother and I are very happy with how the repairs came out. I recommend this company and, specifically, Maryanne for home repairs. read more

We've been wanting to redo our kitchen for awhile. We looked at multiple companies and decided to use "On The Spot" due to its family oriented mindset and awesome employees. We had Chris as our project manager and couldn't have asked for anyone better. Chris came every day the workers were here to check up on the work and when we ran into an issue with the cabinet makers he made sure the cabinets would be here in the time promised. We now have a beautiful updated kitchen! read more

I've used them for gutter cleaning for a few years. Called for a quote this year and they wanted double - $250. I understand a little inflation but this was ridiculous. Called Ned Stevens and paid $80 less for a more thorough job. read more

I am updating my review of on the spot as our original project Manager, Justin, reached out to apologize for everything that happened the day our door was supposed to be installed. He called and even left a hand written note at our house to contact him. I appreciate him reaching out and talking to us about our experience with this company and even cleaned out our gutters and power washed the walkways. I appreciate them calling to apologize after this review.. read more

It is know that construction can be very stressful however I had an amazing experience with "On The Sport", Property Management. While it is hard to compete with large companies On The Spot is in the business for 25 years for delivering an outstanding quality and detail customer Service .Very easy to communicate. Great job. We recently had our kitchen and home office renovated with On The Spot. From beginning to end we had a great experience. Jeff Lyon was our project lead and he was amazing!!! He came to do our estimate and really took time to talk to us about ideas and ways we could maximize our small space. This is a family owned company that makes you feel you are working together in partnership. During our renovation Jeff was there day or night for whatever question we had, it was so awesome! In addition, we had two dedicated guys working on our home, Ray and Jula, that were really great. They worked so hard and wanted to ensure we were happy and went above and beyond. I would have these guys over anytime for the next project. I've never done any home renovation before and was truly worried about the whole process but you can't go wrong with On The Spot!! Great work but really GREAT people! read more

Asked for a quote on my front stairs. There are 3 stairs plus a landing. About 7 feet wide. Several other mason quotes were $4900 to $7500. This company quoted me $12,500 not including material which should be another $1000 to $1500, so the quote really is $13,500+. Getting several+ quotes, I have discovered it's a two man, two day job. OTS is charging $6k a day labor. read more

Although the project didn't go to plan, On The Spot was quick to correct the situation and make things right. Thank you!

Called on a Monday to make an appt for an estimate. They sent an "estimator" on Thursday morning to take a picture of the third floor dormer from the ground. The "estimator" said he would take the information back to the office, work up a price and get back to me. It's now Saturday and still no estimate or return call. FORGET "ON THE SPOT" read more

We had ON the Spot clean our gutters last year.A window was broken. Had a bad experience. Contacted the owners, explained the problem. Nobody called us back or come back to fix the window. Since they change ownership, we got a phone call that they are willing to correct the problem that previous owners did. Very promptly they came, change the window and cleaned our gutters. Great experience. Way to go . Would recommend On the Spot Company Ludmila Z read more

This place has been around for a long time. They did excellent work, with Jeff as the supervisor. All the workers looked trustworthy. They did great cleanup, even dumping our regular trash. I'd ask for Project Manager Jeff Lyon for our next project, which will probably be window installation. On the Spot will be our go to place for contracting from now on. A hearty thank you to them. read more

Needed a piece of Vinyl-siding that fell down on one side of my dormer fixed. Called On the Spot. Told them it was a small job. Came and gave me a written estimate for close to $300. On the Spot did a great job sealing our windows and cleaning/repairing gutters. A few days after the job was complete, I noticed one of the gutters they fixed was not aligned properly. I called Mike the owner and he promptly sent back his professional crew without question and quickly repaired . They stand by their work and would recommend to any new or current homeowners. Great job! read more

Slick, greasy, uneasy feeling from them so didn't even hire and declined receipt of quote. Unprofessional on the phone (didn't use good phone etiquette and identify themselves by name/company, instead: "Hello, [name]?" Sorry, but the burden is on the caller to identify him/herself). Called to say he was running late and would be 10-15 minutes, so I kept the appointment. But he took 25 minutes, arriving less than one minute before the original time window. Shows up in designer t-shirt and jeans with shiny marketing material. Said they'd done work at nearly every house on the street. From here and never seen or heard of them before seeing ad listing last week. Said he'd e-mail quote and I asked directly if he had an e-mail address for us ("Oh, yes. Of course."). Phone rings 5+ hours later asking for e-mail address (TBH I'd declined to give it upon setting the appointment the previous week, as I've dealt with several flakes from many trades, so no point to give it out until ready to move forward). Was told I was making things "difficult." Know lack of reliability and professionalism when I see it. Wished him good luck and moving on. read more

On the Spot Home improvement is right on the spot. Mike and his team are a no-nonsense group of professionals. They are courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. What they say they will do they do without any bait & switch. Their prices are competitive but what i like most about this company is that they take pride in what they do. They just installed a french drain in my crawl space and i cannot wait for the rainy season to start, i fear it no more... We recently finished up a home project with On The Spot Home Improvement, redoing 2 bathrooms and updating the kitchen. OTS was wonderful and we could not be happier with the results. This was our first major home project, and hearing all the horror stories out there, went into it with a fair amount of apprehension. We chose OTS based on their excellent reviews and that they maintain a permanent local presence on Market Street. In addition, we got a great feeling from the owner, Michael DeMarco when he came to give the estimate, which was in line with other estimates we received. We were assigned a project manager, Chris Scavetta, who expertly guided us through the process. The project started on time and progressed as scheduled. The work crews were great, very clean and respectful, especially Ray and Tomas. We highly recommend OTS and will call them again on future projects. read more

We just had our siding and gutters replaced by On the Spot. They were outstanding to work with. Jeff L., the supervisor, was great at keeping in touch and letting me know the schedule. He even text me pictures of the work to keep me updated while I was at work. The team that was here working did just that. They were here early and stayed late. They worked so hard. My job was done ahead of schedule and the work looks amazing. You can tell that they really take pride in their work. They even cleaned up really well! I have nothing bad to say about any part of my experience working with Jeff and his team. read more

Back during the summer our guest bedroom had some water seepage from the heavy rain which ended up messing up the dry wall and carpet. Come to find out we had a crack in the gutter outside the bedroom. After getting the gutter replaced and making sure there was no more seepage, we decided to get the bedroom renovated to fix the water damage. We called and spoke to Jeff Serfaty at On The Spot and he came over a few days later to give us an estimate based on 3 different options he recommended to have the bedroom redone. After we chose our preferred option, Jeff and his crew came over the following week when it was sunny and took care of everything in a couple days. After removing the furniture and the damaged carpet, Jeff's crew put up the new dry wall and vinyl flooring. They also cut out some rotted wood in the back wall of the bedroom that was allowing ants and spiders from outside to creep into the house (My wife and I had been wondering why we were having such an ant problem, no more ants!). Cutting out the rotted wood and filling the open area with cement wasn't easy. Especially since they had to cut it out by going through the wall on our backyard patio. But they made it look easy! After painting the walls and putting back the bedroom furniture, the room looks and feels brand new like nothing ever happened! Many thanks to Jeff and his team! read more

I called to get an estimate based on the reviews and the photos in the gallery. The estimator came, took photos and said at the time they were busy, but that he would get back to us. Well, weeks and weeks later, still no estimate, email, or return call. We have no way of knowing if they were just too busy, the job was too small. No matter what, the customer should get a response. read more
