I did a sunroom and laundry area remodel. The work did take a bit longer than expected but the final product came out looking good. The price was fair. Any issues that popped up was remediate with no fuss or arguments. Jim gave suggestions on improvements and even replaced dryer vent hose with no prompting. I would definitely use them again for future work and recommend them to friends. read more

The thing that knocks this company down is the owner. He promises things and does not remember what he says. He referred to my husband and I as" you people". Very rude and unprofessional when you call him out on his character and in things he previously stated. If he does not like what you say - he hangs up or walks away. Nice when he wants your business, fair, pricing but nasty when you remind him of what he previously said to you regarding the job you hired them to do. Extremely unprofessional when you scream at people because you do not like what they say. read more

Affordable home services installed my windows. There are ongoing issues with the windows as there are drafts coming from each window. I believe the windows were not properly installed. Not satisfied with the services I received. read more

I had a great experience working with John and the team at Affordable Home Services. We used them to do a pretty big project (2nd floor extension, bathroom refinishing, and entry room rebuild) and they knocked it out of the park. We got multiple bids on this job and theirs was the most competetive. When you go with a cheaper bid there is a little bit of a fear that maybe the contractor will cut coreners, but not Affordable Home Services! Their crafstmanship was amazing; even during our inspections the town inspectors frequetnly commented on the quality of their work. They finished the project within the projected time line and no surprised popped up along the way. I will for sure be using them for all future home renovation projects. read more

My parents' home needed a new roof. I live in another state and so had no idea who to hire. My cousin, who live near my parent's, did some comparison and recommended selecting this company for the work. Mark gave us a reasonable quote and explained what needed to be done. He assured me the work would be done timely. The workers showed up as promised and completed the project on time. My cousin conducted an inspection of the completed project and assured me all was done as agreed upon. We have peace of mind, no more worries about roof problems. Thank you for your service. read more

We had our downstairs windows and the whole house done with vinyl siding. Very satisfied with the outcome. This team was very professional and the owners Jim and John and sales person Jeanine are the nicest people and very easy to work with. The 2 teams that worked on the house were very timely and did a great job. Great customer service. They are local business and I highly recommend their services for home improvement needs. read more

They did my porch roof and installed a door. Jim told me to wait for him at a specific time for he was very busy. When I called his office to get started with the work, obviously he told the secretary Andrea to dismiss me and sent me a text stating, "I can't help you". His worker solicited the job. I refused to hire him for loyalty and security reasons. There was no reason for Jim to be disrespectful or to show no honor for the privilege of patronizing his business. Customers are a blessing and he too needs service sometimes. Apply the golden rule. "Also, just as you want men to do to you do the same way to them". Luke 6:31. read more

I had my siding done and they were awesome, the work was fast, clean and there was no hidden fees. Every time I called either for information or a modification, Jim was very nice and patient. He went out of his way to accommodate me. read more

Jim Lederle and his crews did an amazing job. I own a rental property in NJ but live in Florida. After being informed that the property needed some TLC, I contacted Affordable Home Services. After meeting with Jim, we agreed on pricing for a new roof and siding, gutters and downspouts, replacing a rotted wood deck and extensive masonry work necessitated by years of winter damage. The crew got to work immediately and worked tirelessly until completion. They showed up when scheduled, were professional, courteous and as quiet as possible. I am more than pleased with the quality and workmanship and most of all, the results. I have no problem, whatsoever, recommending Affordable Home Services to anyone needing exterior improvements to their home. Dennis Ward read more

I original ask if some one could give me an estimate on replacing my roof on Wednesday. Some thing came up an I asked if someone could come the day I called. They arrange Johns schedule so they could accommodate me. He gave me the estimate and explain in detail what they would be doing to replace the roof. Very professional. I have not decided yet on using Affordable. Getting another estimate. read more

Requested quote, owner Jim came. Waited 4 days for response to be told, "Sorry, can't help you." Was looking forward to doing business with them but they couldn't even explain why they couldn't take on the project.. waste of time. read more

Affordable Home Services provided a detailed description of the work to be provided in writing. They followed up via telephone to let me know when the work would be performed (it was scheduled for exactly 1.5 days within 1.5 weeks from the day of the estimate). This allowed me to move the cars out of the garage and driveway. The day the work was going to be performed a dumpster was parked in my driveway and the work crew covered my bushes and grass with perforated tarp (this kept the bushes looking fresh and the grass green). Jim came to my house early in the morning and reminded me of exactly what was going to happen and how long it would take. He is very personable and I appreciated exchanging pleasantries while he provided assurance of everything being performed. The crew worked well and paid close attention to the details. The roof was installed in 1-day and then the gutters were installed the day after. The crew cleaned up everything and even used a high powered magnet on wheels to ensure any loose pieces of metal were collected. The dumpster was removed later on the 2nd day. Jim was there in the evening after the jobs were completed to assess the installation and ensure no scrap was remaining on the ground. I did not have to worry about the permit, quality, time, resources, or conduct. Yes, I would highly recommend Affordable Home Services! read more

Made an appointment to get an estimate and they never came. This is completely unprofessional! People have things to do as well, at least call to let the person know that you're not coming. I didn't try to call and see why they didn't come because as a company you have to be on top of it. read more

Jim and his crew did a siding job for me and I couldn't have been happier! The house looks great and I get compliments all the time. The guys were all pleasant, cleaned up after their work, and did a great job overall. Price was right and the materials used were quality. No short-cuts on this job. Highly recommended. read more

Hiring affordable roofing for our association was a great move. Many contractors are in and out the business and hard to find when there is an issue. Affordable roofing replace our roof 4 years ago and to this date whenever there's a issue they come right out. They stand behind their work and always give us the advice we need to maintain the roof. I highly recommend this organization and would use them again. read more

I don't normally review online, but I am so happy we chose Affordable Home Services for our addition on our home in West Caldwell in 2010 that I had to make an exception. During the course of the project John and his team were professional, reliable and a pleasure to work with in every aspect. The price they quoted was the price we paid; even though the original plans changed slightly, we were never asked to pay more for the additional work. The job was finished one time and better than expected; we trusted the team so much we even went on vacation and John sent us pictures to keep us informed of the progress. Some time after the addition, our newly installed balcony began to leak; we called John who returned immediately to resolve the issue, and even fixed a couple of other small things he noticed while he was there that were never part of the job. The balcony proved to be an issue a second time, and John immediately returned to fix it again, this time ripping the whole thing out and reinstalling it to ensure we never were inconvenienced again; all along maintaining a great attitude and never making me feel bad for calling. Knowing that we were in such great hands not only during the project; but also covered anytime down the line should something come up, makes me feel lucky we choose an established complany like Affordable Home Services. Simply put, Affordable Home Services stands behind their work, they are a leader in their field and I would recommend them to anyone doing work on their home! read more
