Could not have asked fror a better experience. Lester and his team at Classic Remodeling were recommended by a family member. We got quotes from 4 different companies. Classic Remodeling's pricing was not the cheapest, but was competitive with the other companies, and their warranty and pricing policy combined with the recommendation from family led us to choose them for our roofing and siding project. We were quoted a week for the whole job: 1-2 days for the room, and ~5 for siding and gutters. The roof was done in 1 day, with the team working well after 5 to get the job done. Their team arrived around 730 everyday, and started working at 8, if not earlier. Even with rain stealing about a day and a half, the project was done in a week. The team worked past 5 more often than not, and on the last day they were sweeping our driveway as the sun was setting after installing the gutters. We weren't asked to pay a dime until the job was done. Communication was great for the entire ordeal. I wish Classic Remodeling did more than windows, siding, roofing, and doors, because I'd want to hire them for all future renovations. read more

Had my roof and my vinyl siding changed out in may 2023. After going through 4 vendors I went with Lester as I felt he was very knowledgeable , GAF certified and also had a payment system that shows he believes in his work 100%. Lester provided me locations near me that he had worked on so I can see his work. I had the roof changed first and then siding about a month later. Everything was done on time and even though I had a small issue that occurred with the siding I contacted Lester and he had someone come fix it promptly. He does not avoid calls or texts and will get back to you so you can have trust in him. He had someone from his team visit the site daily to inspect and also answer any questions I had. A neighbor a few blocks up saw them working on my roof and came by to ask for his info and a month later I see them working on his roof also. read more

I was recommended to Classic Remodeling as I was exploring my options for a new roof. I reached out to two roofers who emailed/mailed quotes...and then I met with Lester (in person). He was knowledgeable and promised me that I would be happy with his work ethic, quality of his work and competitive pricing. He presented me with a few options, and I chose the option that was right for me. Definitely NOT your typical pushy salesman!! What impressed me the most was as part of his presentation; he includes the company's insurance certificate to show that he was fully insured to do the job. Lester scheduled an installation day and time. The supplies were dropped off the day before and placed neatly on my driveway. His men showed up 15 minutes prior to the start of the day and at the start of the job he came and spoke with me and told me when the job was going to be completed. He was right on target! The cost factor was right on target - no hidden fees with no down-payment required. The installation was perfect. The cleanup of the job was impeccable. Proud to say my roof has never looked better! Lester and his crew were incredibly professional. I got two other estimates, and Lester was by far the most professional, took the time to answer all my questions, and gave a reasonable estimate. He then got all the work done (Roof, Siding, and Windows) efficiently and professionally. When deciding what type of siding to use Lester gave us addresses to see the work he had done on other houses, and he even took me on a walk through the neighborhood to show me different choices of windows to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. He never tried to sell me on something more expensive, but he always responded when I had a different idea and wanted to know what it would cost. Classic offers a locked in price, and that price stayed consistent throughout the process. It never changed at all! The workers were respectful and cleaned up every day after they were done. This company is the real deal. I recently hired them to replace our entire roof after originally asking them just for a roof repair. Our roof was leaking in the new home we bought and I reached out to them through a referral from a contractor I worked with. They came by and took a look, telling me that based on the moss growing all over our roof, that simply doing a repair job would not help and that they recommended we replace it since it was about 25 years old. I decided to get some quotes and suggestions from other roofers and a few came by and told me they could repair the leak for a nominal fee, but when I pressed them on what I learned from Classic Remodeling (i.e. would it leak again soon, etc.), they all admitted it would be best to replace the entire roof. After getting quotes, Classic Remodeling not only came in at one of the lowest bids, but they also told me I wouldn't be charged extra for replacement of wood rot (the other places I spoke with charged about $70-80 per wood board needing replacement). They educated me about the whole process and guided me through it, making it easy and quick. We have a huge roof and they did the entire job within a day and a half and cleaned up all the mess (even the pieces that fell down the huge hill right behind our house - the guys were down their climbing around in the branches picking up small chunks of roofing tile). My wife is super happy and even though it was very expensive to do an entire roof replacement, I'm no longer worried about the winter time and having bad leaks with snow buildup. My wife is happy and as they say, happy wife, happy life lol. I was not paid to write this review, they just asked if I would write a short testimonial if I was happy, so I said sure. Not only did no-one show up, several phone calls and emails have gone unanswered. A week later tropical storm Isaisas hot and now I have additional interior damage as a result of the unfixed leak. Can't say enough about how pleased we are with the job Classic did siding our house. Our house is brick on the lower floor and brown barn wood on the upper floors. The barn wood needed replacing because after 50 some years it had deteriorated. We wanted to keep the same look and found siding that nearly matched the barn wood. Lester special ordered the siding. The workers did an excellent job removing the old wood and installing the new siding. They were very careful and cleaned up every night. When the job was done, the debris was hauled away. Classic did not require upfront payment, not even for ordering the supplies. Payment was made when the job was done. We had used Classic to replace the roof a couple years earlier. Lester spent hours explaining how the roof would be installed. He also gave us references to look at different roof styles. His work crew was professional and friendly. They started and ended the job on time. The estimate was right in the middle of the 5 we received. Everything was included and we didn't pay until the job was finished. We emailed and called Lester several times to ask questions and he was always patient, prompt and friendly. I really liked the fact that Lester gave us his best quote to begin with. I had a leak and Lester said he could do the job in about two weeks but would come the next day to put tarp over the leak at no extra cost until he could start the job. Lo and behold, he called me that afternoon and said he could start the next day because a special order of shingles for another job was delayed. I work with more than enough contractors to know how rampant the dishonesty and unscrupulousness is within the practice. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. You can actually put that home repair cynicism aside with Classic. We've worked with these guys twice after doing our due diligence and getting estimates from multiple contractors. Not only does Classic give the best quotes, but they follow through at construction. You pay nothing until all is done, budgets were never inflated and their promised warranty is longer than others. DO NOT HIRE THEM! I wish I could give the company zero stars! I used them about 20 years ago to replace my roof. They did an adequate job, nothing spectacular. This year I decided to have all of the windows in my home replaced, so I called the owner, Lester again. First of all, he came to my house twice - once to discuss the project and give me a quote, the second time to bring the contract to sign. In those two visit he NEVER brought a sample with him of the windows (although he said he did - NEVER). I thought the quote was decent for what he said were very good windows (the ones that he was pushing -Alside Mezzo). I researched them and saw that they had decent reviews. Lester, the owner/president then proceeded to order the windows, only discussing the window options for the basement. NEVER did he say that my bathroom window would be some frosted window, which I did not want because it is such a small bathroom. I brought this to his attention after the installation. He promised he would replace the bathroom window once he ordered it. I called him no less than 5 times on the same issue! Again, the same promise. He never came back to my house after the installation, only during the installation, and then showed up for a hot second. I have not yet heard back from him in over a month. He also claimed any damage to my window molding would be replaced. Well, I have had lots of damage to my window moldings sure due to the workers sloppy work. I sent him pictures of the damage which he ignored. I now have to have someone repair the damage that he caused. He has not been responsive and has been avoiding me. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN and I would advise that no one else use this company! read more

This is a real review by a real homeowner about Classic Remodeling of Hackensack, NJ. My husband and I decided to totally redo our roof, the roof had no leaks, yet by installing new technology materials (that are lighter and more efficient), we thought of it as an investment in our well being and a way to save money in heating and a/c. We researched greatly both the materials and above all the company that would do the installation. Once we decided on white GAF TPO, for the material, we then found, in GAF web site, Mr Lester Waxman owner of Classic Remodeling (1 Hackensack Ave, Hackensack, NJ 07601). We were really impressed by them, no matter where we looked ( BBB, NJ DEp. Of Consumers affairs plus the usual) they had the highest ratings and great praises. We read tons of reviews and everybody was talking not only about the superb installation of their new roof, but above all about the great experience they had in dealing with Lester Waxman as a professional, fair and true to his word business man. The very first time I called their number, I was called back by Mr Waxman himself, in about 15 minutes. After talking to a sales person that came to our house, we agreed on the terms and signed a contract. The work on our roof started and by day two I was having doubts on the crew that was handling my roof. I called Mr Waxman and told him that the installation wasn't right, he was on another roof somewhere far, yet he said he would be there soon. He showed up on my roof in 20 minutes, leaving, I am sure, a way bigger job then mine (we have a tiny roof of about 800 sq ft). I wasn't happy, the installation was not up to the standards I was expecting and mistakes were clearly made, TPO was new that crew. Lester Waxman apologized for that crew, they were clearly still on a training curve in relation to TPO, he assured me that he would do good by me, he wanted me to have a roof with the high standards I was expecting. I was clearly in a bad mood and anxious, as my roof was now open and a tropical storm was approaching. Mr Waxman understood that and showed up with a new foreman at our door the next day, a Sunday by the way! So the roof was totally re-done by a new, TPO expert crew, with new material and in the proper way. Of course this was a stressful experience, the job was longer then expected, and we had lots of anxiety: homeowner go through their own horror experiences with contractors and hear even more. In the home improving industry there are, unfortunately, lots of bad apples: flaky and improvised contractors that ruin the reputation for all. Sometime you don't know if your contractor is going to show up the next day to finish the job, let along if something goes wrong, they are don't want to be responsible, they don't own their mistakes as they don't want to fix them. So you can imagine how very anxious we were to see how our situation would be handled. We are pleased to say that Classic Remodeling IS NOT one of those unprofessional and unreliable companies!!!! Mr Lester Waxman the owner of a big and super busy company took the time to inspect personally the job several times, he owned the mistakes done by his crew, promised that they would be fixed and followed through with it. He was there for us to make sure that all was done in a proper and satisfactory way. Of course we were furious at the beginning, but by the professional way Mr Waxman handled the situation since the beginning (he was calm and apologized), we understood that things can happen. This is a huge company and he has to rely on several crews that are managed on the field by many foremen. The important part was that he honored our contract and the repute of his name. We have a great new roof now, but most of all, for once, we dealt with a person and a company that work really very hard to maintain the reputation and the value of their name that they developed over the years. At the end, when I paid and thanked Lester Waxman he thanked me for giving him the possibility to fix the problems. This is the best value and warranty a company can give you. I had my siding done and was so pleased that I later had my roof done. The house looked great. It wasn't cheap, but also wasn't the most expensive estimate I received. Three years later I had a leak in my roof. Long story short, Lester came and looked, and sent another guy the next day who told me that he had to wait for dry weather to do something. Six months later and a dozen unreturned phone calls to Lester, and I am still waiting. I recently paid over $2,000 to have the roof fixed, and now have to have the ceiling replaced inside my home. Very nice until they get the job, but don't want to be bothered when there is a problem. Definitely would not recommend. read more
