Truly, there isn't one bad table. After eating here three times, I have loved every dish I've had. Most recently, I had the butternut and apple pizza. It was fantastic. Our waitress was so kind and gave great recommendations. Similarly, the drink menu is so creative and interesting. The bar tenders are really good at what they do. I would get these everytime honestly. The staff was incredibly friendly and super patient with us. My friends had just got engaged that night and were able to squeeze us in to celebrate. Pleasantly pleased!! The Duck Pastrami wasn't overpowered with the quantity of protein. The flavor was on point... The spicy chicken sandwich was accompanied by the smashed potatoes that was bursting with flavor with a herbal hint.. I picked this based on reviews and I can be hard to please when it comes to food. I had the baked oysters and they were cooked perfectly and tasty. They were small and most places will give you an extra oyster when they are small, but not here. So 5 oysters are what you get. Nothing special though. My wife had the brisket burger and collards. I had the lamb shank for my entree. The collards were as my wwife said "jaw dropping vinegary ". They were vinegary. We didn't eat the collards. The lamb shank was awesome. Super tender and tasty. Definitely worth ordering again. The brisket burger was great. Not sure about it being a dinner item, but my wife ordered it, so I guess it works. Service was friendly and quick. Fantastic dinner at Cypress Hall tonight! Popped in after arriving in town. It as a gorgeous evening, so I sat in their open air "bar table" that faces the street. The service and food were both fantastic. Christian was my server and he could not have been any more helpful! He was attentive, knowledgeable, and gave the best recommendations for dinner and dessert I had the burger, which was delicious and then saved a bit of room for the strawberry shortcake... which was to die for! I can see why this place has received great reviews. The interior is beautiful, the food was delicious, and staff was very nice. The place was very good but small issues caused a 5 star review to be downgraded to 4 stars. The only major problem was our service. The server was nice enough, but took a LONG time to get to our table, seemed in a hurry, and only checked on us once. I ordered a coffee and it didn't arrive until my wife was half done with her mimosa--and was never refilled. The sever was not incompetent, but rather, fell far below the quality of other aspects of our experience. In fairness, she may have been busy as it seemed that she had other tables upstairs, but she didn't seem to be in much of a hurry. My only other complaint is the grossly overpriced draft beers. As an industry lifer and avid craft beer drinker, I just had to laugh at the prices being charged knowing how much they cost or the prices charged at comparable places. Although this review seems negative, the place was definitely very good and we had a very positive experience and will return. Just a bit disappointed in the service. read more

I ate at Cypress Hall last Wednesday. I ordered a burger and asked the waitress if I could be sure to have it well-done - she assured me it would be well-done. When it was brought to the table, I was told it was well-done. After eating some of it, I saw that it was very rare in the middle - it looked raw. I don't even think it was safe to eat - I didn't eat the rest. To their credit, they offered to cook me another one - to take home if I wanted. I declined. I would have to say, food safety is the most basic standard for a restaurant, and Cypress Hall failed. read more
