    Mango Lemon Drop

I have to admit that the only reason we went here was because we couldn't get a reservation at another restaurant. We are in town from Pennsylvania. Well, this place didn't disappoint. I had the mango lemon drop drink that was huge and generously spiked. I ordered the collards and a side of Mac and cheese and my husband had the seafood boil. All of it was well seasoned, had generous portions and absolutely delicious. We never had hard boiled eggs in a seafood boil, but it was a nice touch. The staff were all polite and attentive but they were stretched a little thin. The prices were fair. I would definately come back!

Cocktail my waitress said was her favorite. Absolutely delicious

This is probably my most favorite seafood spot on the east coast. The cook is throwing down in the kitchen it's so delicious. All the waitresses and waiters are amazing and hilarious. Good food and a good time here

Ordered Door Dash per hotel recommendation for good wings. He was right! The bbq wings were delicious and they had great ranch. Also had the fried shrimp sandwich with slaw. The slaw was sweet and tasty. The hush puppies were a little burnt. They must have been busy because I waited about 30 more min for my order than predicted. I can't speak to the atmosphere as I had it in the hotel room.

    Red potatoes were my favorite!

Food was superb! Service was friendly! Would definitely return here again if in the area.

Yummy!this was The Seafood Platter and was plenty to be had

I am in town to bury my mom.But all was done I thought I would treat myself to some good sea food since living in Tennessee doesn't come close to being back home in New Bern. So after Church service on Sunday I decided to check out this place Sea and Soul. They did not disappoint at all. Once I stepped in I was greeted immediately by a sweet woman behind the bar with a smile. Once I sat down another young lady came over and took my order for my drink which I chose the S&S Punch Bowl which is their take on a Long Island Ice Tea but using "PineApple"juice. It was delicious! It was served in a small punch bowl but it packed a punch so drink responsible. I ordered the platter with fish, shrimp, oysters and instead of fish I substituted it for clam strips. My side dishes were collard greens and a Caesar Salad. The greens were spicy and flavorful and the seafood was to die for.Be prepared for plenty of food also so come hungry. The atmosphere was very laid back with comfort also. In all I must say all was amazing from walking in to being seated and leaving. I will for sure return before I leave to go back to Tennessee. This is "a must"try and you will be very pleased.

Oh my goodness, they did not disappoint. I ordered the catfish plate, but drooled over everything I saw coming out of the kitchen. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly.

Fried flounder dinners with fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw (front) / collard greens (rear)

Wow. Great southern cooking with friendly staff. We both had their flounder dinner, which came with two sides and hush puppies. The food came out fresh, hot and quick. The fries were seasoned perfectly- best fries we've had in a long time. The hush puppies were also fantastic. Cole slaw and collard greens also score a big thumbs up. And nice sized flounder fillets with a perfect corn meal coating and fried to perfection. Our waitress refilled our sodas several times and was very nice. Atmosphere is casual. Definitely worth a visit

Sea & Soul food truck at Brewery 99

Happy to see the Sea and Soul food truck at Brewery 99 tonight. First off...the food we enjoyed was flavorful. The fish and shrimp tacos were a big hit with our crowd. There was a fried flounder filet in each fish taco. The tortilla was so jam packed full of yumminess, I was barely able to get my mouth around it...but I powered through and ate the whole thing! Plus their aioli and pico de gallo gave the tacos a nice level of heat. The shrimp were grilled and seasoned perfectly. Then overloaded into the tacos. The cheese burger had a nice charbroiled flavor to it and was juicy. The French fries were the best thick cut fries I've ever put in my mouth! Crispy and nothing wimpy about these little bites of heaven. The only disappointing entree was their fried flounder basket. The fish was tasty; however, there was only one small filet in a $12 fish basket. Seriously, there was more fish in the $10 fish tacos than the basket! It was a quantity issue vs a quality one. Since the food we had was nothing short of deliciousness, we'll order from them again...just not one of the basket dinners.

Food was amazing! Highly recommend the Seafood Spud and the Salmon BLT. Hush puppies and corn as sides were solid.

Only been there once. Food was very good. Service was very poor. Ambiance was okay. I'd return, my wife is not so gracious.

We went there on St. Patrick's Day and had one of the best Reubens ever, along with absolutely the best fries ever. It is such a pretty restaurant and when you walk in and see the water and the boats you totally relax. It's like you're on vacation. Our server Christie, was so, so nice, and didn't blink an eye when I changed my drink. We are looking forward to going back there for dinner. The people at the bar were raving about the shrimp. We gotta try that next time.

***This is a review for Saltwater's seasonal Thanksgiving buffet, open to reservations only***…read more Oh, Saltwater Grill... where do I begin? Let's begin with the gravy, or lack there of. It's Thanksgiving. Unless the chef has UNWAVERING, super-heroic confidence the turkey is going to be ultra-moist, gravy needs to be on standby. Even IF the turkey is perfect, what about the mashed potatoes? The dressing? Gravy is the cohesiveness that brings it all together, the savior lifeblood of the holiday dinner plate. (FYI, the turkey needed said gravy.) Let's check in with the alternate entree offerings: chicken & dumplings or shrimp & grits. They're lucrative ideas for options other than turkey & ham. But... the execution was lacking. The chicken & dumplings had a cloying, sweetish flavor. I couldn't put my finger on it; maybe I was getting undertones of nutmeg & allspice in my bites. It was, um, unique (to be polite). The shrimp & grits. Bless it, I just don't know what to say. The grits be gritting, not creamy & smooth like they should be for this dish. The shrimp swimming in the sauce in the adjacent pan struck me as the tiny salad shrimp most of us have seen before. Speaking of the 'sauce': This wasn't a thoughtful carrier vehicle for ANY type of shrimp, great or small. It seemed to be a thinned out mornay with no thought or attempt at flavor. Ah, wait. There is always dessert batting last to save the day! It's the last thing that touches your palate, erasing all vestiges of earlier misgivings. Except... NO pumpkin pie or variation thereof. NO pecan pie or attempted version. There was red velvet cake, flourless chocolate torte & a snickerdoodle'ish crumb cake available. The crumb cake would have to be my go to to close out this meal. For reserved, timed seatings of patrons the dining area was never overwhelmingly crowded. With that said, overall service was subpar. We never received beverage refills (everyone drinking water or tea, no difficult orders) & plates were cleared slowly. Well, that's that. We know to make better choices next year. However, you don't know what you don't know until you know. Now we know. p.s. - It's a good thing I have pumpkin pie stashed at home.
