Half. I ate the other half!

Come by boat or car! This restaurant is located on the Trent river with a nice deck on the water. I found the food to be really good and creatively prepared. For example, you know how usually when you order sweet potatoes fries all you taste is the oil in which it was fried, not here, you actually taste the sweet potato! I highly recommend the strawberry salad and the grilled turkey and Brie sandwich. Do not miss the cranberry aoli! I almost didn't get it,but our waitress suggested at least getting it on the side. She was right! It was great on sandwiche and fries. She was excellent and accomodated dietary needs with ease. My only suggestion would be to create a little more ambience inside to match the excellence of the food.

Came this morning right as they opened. As usual, Christy Jo greeted me with a smile and I got my usual. Fish n chips. So delicious! Was a beautiful day so I sat outside, had the whole place to myself. d always food is on point, and wonderful service too. Only place I eat when coming to New Bern. No need to try anything else in my opinion. Bathrooms always spotless too.

This was the bacon wrapped shrimp, risotto and asparagus!

Got here right when it opened today. First time dining in Swansboro and this place has beautiful scenery. The chef was very hospitable and made me feel right at home (as much as possible in a restaurant). I asked if he was willing to make a dinner item although it was lunch and he was very accommodating and I regret not getting his name. The food was delicious and the presentation beautiful. Will definitely be returning. Top tier moment was to see a single dolphin popping out of the water! Still smiling about the whole experience. Keep up the excellent work.

    First plate they gave me.

Not busy at 6:30 and cannot get any tables items correct (as we could overhear). Shrimp came out cold and waited 15 minutes for risotto only to be told, "I asked the kitchen about it". The other meal in our party was incorrect as well. The waitress mentioned that there was a mix up in the kitchen and that they re-made the food. Completely different quality, but don't eat the risotto if you enjoy keeping your tastebuds. Again, not busy and in no rush. Would not recommend.

This place is a true hidden gem. Over 20 years. 20 years I never knew it was there. Getting into the parking lot, just follow the arrows as it takes you left. Upon entering, you notice the design and openness. It's a comfortable feel and was very clean. Although the decor was OK, I feel an upgrade in the the tables and chairs would be helpful. Not a deal breaker for me. I believe there was only 3 ppl working. They were working together like clock work. The waitress was great. As for the food. I began with the Buffalo shrimp. I was disappointed with the size of the shrimp as for my meal I got the fried shrimp which were wonderful. I'd pay more for 6 of the large shrimp in Buffalo vs the now. Just my opinion. Pictures is all of the food the family ordered and all enjoyed the freshness and timely manner it got to us. I appreciate great food and great service. Definitely one I'll frequent.

My family had a great experience here on Christmas Eve for lunch. This spot is off the beaten track in New Bern, but has a little scenic spot on an inlet. The restaurant was rather empty but the service and food were delicious. I had a Bloody Mary to drink and Shrimp + Grits as my main event. It included andouille sausage, onions and peppers and the sauce had a little kick. The grits were nice and buttery! This is a great little spot for a family meal or even a romantic evening on the waterfront. Prices were fair and we all enjoyed our eats.

Stopped here after work for a quick bite. Very open dining area. Loved the glass globes hanging from the ceiling. Our server Aiden was very polite and professional. We ordered the tuna and chicken Alfredo. The tuna had a good taste despite a few pieces that were hard to chew. The Alfredo was delicious. For two dinners and two drinks it was around $50 not including the tip. We would definitely stop here again.

    Cold, tall and top shelf.
 Off to a GREAT start!

I have been craving fried soft shell crab for weeks and finally had the opportunity to enjoy some! If you don't appreciate them, you don't know what you're missing! I decided to add the premium side Crab Tots ($1.99 when added to the meal). I'd never had them before and will definitely order them again! All of my meal items were served fresh and hot!! Everyone in our group cleaned their plates, so you know the quality and quantity of the food was outstanding! On my way out, I spotted the owner Trey sitting at a booth enjoying his lunch. I didn't want to disturb him, so I offered my compliments to the cashier. As I was telling them how much we appreciated the exceptional food and service, Trey got up from his meal and walked over to thank me for coming in. He is a true gentleman and wonderful servant of our community! If you haven't already given them a try, drop by the Front Street Fish Co for lunch or dinner. I have to say, this "chowder" was the worst I've ever had and it's not even close. It tasted, and looked, straight out of a Campbell's soup can. It had hardly no clams and maybe two tiny potato bits. The base tasted just like cream of chicken soup and it was the same consistancy. I even checked with the girl at the front counter to make sure I got the right soup because it was not even close to being a chowder. Even though I didn't like the soup, no one offered to reimburse me for it. All of the other food was ok with the fried shrimp being the best. The whiting and okra both tasted a little like they were fried in old grease.

Service was excellent. I ordered the catfish platter with two sides and it was the best I've ever had. Thank you for my birthday dinner. I'll definitely be back.

This was my first trip to "Carolina Girls", and while I had read what I could find about the food,…read moreservice and ambiance, I hope to improve upon reporting so others will have an easier time. First, I will say that the food was good! I have to admit that it was not what I expected, but here is what I found. I ordered a combination of shrimp and flounder, with fries and green beans as sides. See the photo of shrimp and flounder, with fries and green beans! Shrimp were small, about 50ct I estimate. They were lightly battered and very tasty. I expected larger shrimp, but given the light batter and excellent taste, I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp. The flounder was also lightly battered, and perfectly cooked. It was excellent. Fries are fries, and these were OK. But the real big surprise were the green beans! They were likely the best I've ever had. That leaves hush puppies, and their spread. The hush puppies could have been very good, but were served at just above room temperature. The spread was a butter substitute that was indeed sad. Here is my Professional Tip: Prepare and proudly present your own hush puppy spread. Make it by simply blending real butter and real honey and serve it in reusable stainless steel 2-oz containers. It would be unique, cost minimal, and set the pace for ambiance enhancement. Service was good, but they allowed kitchen staff to sit in the serving area and converse with customers. A little too "homey" for me. Lastly, in regard to ambiance they seem to be finding their "sea legs", as decorations did enhance the feeling of a seafood restaurant. Small improvements could be in changing ceiling light bulbs to a warmer 2700 Kelvin color range, and adding disposable place mats with three utensils, better napkins, and new condiment bottles. I know some may think of these suggestions as nit-picky, but please trust that I want this place to excel.

The portions were quite large. My mom enjoyed key lime pie for dessert. Our waitress Keegan was awesome and her customer service skills were excellent. The drinks were flowing from the bar. Cup of Pepper soup was very salty. Caesar salad was good with big slices of Parmesan cheese and lightly, perfectly dressed. Fountain sodas were exactly how a soda should be, perfect level of syrup to bubbly. We both commented on how good they were which was kind of odd, but so often fountain sodas are off. Wait staff were friendly and efficient. The dining room is so badly designed. The row of booths where we sat were along a wall where the doors to the kitchen are. You can hear dishes being washed, "backstage" staff talking loudly and occasionally cleaning smells. I don't know why they didn't make that a hallway and flip the booths to the other side. WAIT TIME/LINES We got there 1.5 hour till closing (7:30PM) and there was a decent line. We waited in line for about 25 minutes until we got to the registrar to order. Apparently, the staff member informed us the line was wrapped around the shack earlier in the day so I'd say we got lucky with our timing. SERVICE Customer service was excellent. There was a staff member consistently handing out samples of the Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque while we waited in line. During our dining experience, the staff member came around with various samples of Whoopie Pies. DINING AREA There are a decent amount of picnic style dining tables around the back of the shack. All outdoor seating. I wish there was more shade as the sun was setting and it gets pretty hot with the humidity. FOOD - Maine LobSTAH Roll:I ordered this along with a few others in my party. It comes with your choice of Plugra melted butter, mayo, or both! The mayo was a packet, in case you were wondering. I thought it was a house-made mayo with herbs infused, which would be a great idea for them to add some freshness to the dish. The lobster was the star of the show -- fresh, large chunks, and a plentiful portion. The bun was toasted. It came with a lemon wedge, half a pickle spear, cole slaw, and a bag of Cape Cod potato chips. The cole slaw was tasty -- I appreciate the chopped approach. - Maine Lobstah Bowl: A few family members ordered this. It mainly consisted of lobster, slaw, and lettuce. Delicious. Overall, cute Main LobSTAH Shack with good Maine lobSTAH!

Yes the lobster is good, and the guy who took our order was funny and friendly. Our food came out fast and was exactly what we expected from a Maine lobster shack. You eat outside under a shade on picnic tables. There is no inside so keep that in mind and if you need the restroom they don't have one, you'll need to run across the parking lot to the tackle and bait fishing shop (which is a really cool store and lots of boating, touristy, beach stuff too). To us where they really shined was the soups. I had the clam chowder and my wife had lobster bisque. Both were excellent! Almost everyone sells clam chowder up and down the barrier islands but many do the water based version with canned clams which are hard and too chewy. This was a proper clam chowder made with fresh clams and real cream. It was spot on. The same for the bisque. If you're unsure, they offer sample tastes of the soups. Will we go back? Yes. Was it expensive? Yes. We spent $90 bucks for lunch and that's a lot for us so it won't be a regular stop for us, if we were more affluent we would eat here more often.
