The mofongo/trifongo itself was good, but the skirt steak was overcooked, extremely rubbery, and lacked any real sauce or marinade. It honestly tasted almost microwaved. I couldn't even bring myself to take the leftovers home for my dog. What made that even more disappointing was the price. Two entrées and one $8 order of beef empanadas came out to almost $90, and we were only drinking water. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and provided good service, so I don't fault her at all. But paying nearly $90 for a meal where I barely ate the vegetables or protein left me feeling like I paid $90 for water and smashed plantains. I don't normally leave a less-than-stellar review after just one visit, especially when I really want to support a local business. However, I've also heard similar experiences from other people I know, where something about their meal was off-putting for one reason or another. I'll definitely come back for drinks, appetizers, the outdoor space, and community events, because I really do want to support what they're building here in Greenville. There are also burners at the full service bar. Recently, passing through town, I stopped by Kpot 88 for takeout. If I dined in, it was all you can eat only and I wasn't that hungry. I got their Korean BBQ Box for $16.99 plus tax, which includes choices of two fully cooked meats/seafood, white rice or fried rice, 3 side choices. I ordered in person and my order was bagged and ready in 11 minutes. My custom Korean BBQ box had Beef Bulgogi, Jumbo Shrimp, Fried Rice, Seaweed Salad, Edamame, & Kimchi. The beef and shrimp were grilled and seasoned nicely. The fried rice had egg & onion. The chilled sides were fitting for this meal. Overall, I was glad they have a takeout option for Korean BBQ.
