I received excellent service from Nikki on 10/09/20. I was looking for a Bluetooth device for my helmet. Nikki showed me what was available and I decided on the Freecom 1. She asked me if I had my helmet and offered to install it for me. I told her I did not but I could go get it and return. Nikki offered to begin charging it for me while I went to retrieve my helmet. When I arrived back to the store Nikki installed it in my helmet for me and showed me how to use it. I really appreciate this level of service and highly recommend buying at Cycle Gear. all i have to say is amazing support i was helped by the homie Trevor who was awesome helped out a lot looking for a new helmet as a beginner rider, knew what he was talking about almost so much i bought an arai regent-X which is kinda pricy @$579.95, but after trying on a few helmets i knew exactly that an arai was the best fit for me, the quality and craftsmanship in these helmets are insane definitely a pricey helmet for a first time rider but you have to remember this is going to be on your head for hours on end saving your life, definitely worth spending the few extra minutes to really understand how special an arai helmet is, definitely recommend coming here for any motorcycle needs definitely going to be back to pick up the rest of my gear !! also really supportive wished me best of luck on my msf course this week, definitely more then just a store it's a community read more

This place has now become my go-to for any motorcycle gear or equipment. The staff is extremely helpful and genuine. The store manager went as far as to drive me to my bike (which was dead at the time) and help me jump it. It was the second time I spoke to him, so to go that far out of your way is overly generous. Horrible experience. Staff has no clue what they're doing. All I wanted was my tire mounted and balanced. Payed for everything it looked great at first and when I got back home and installed my tire it absolutely chewed through my front abs sensor on the first test ride. Looking at it further they had mounted the tire the wrong direction causing this issue. I called the staff and they said they would handle it immediately. I rode my bike back down and removed my wheel in they're parking lot during bike night hoping they could get it done quick. The staff was really nice and said they would get it done. After installing my tire for the second time and test riding it I continually kept getting horrible speed wobbles. After looking at the tire again it appears they didn't even remove the old wheel weights at all. Now I have to remove my tire for a 3rd time and hope they can figure out how to do the job properly and I'm at a loss for my $118 abs sensor. Do better, absolute joke of a team working at this location. read more

I purchased a Shuberth helmet and took it home. Three days later I went for a ride, after an hour the helmet was hurting my head above the ears, after I got home I took off my helmet. The next day I took my helmet back to Cycle Gear, David helped me. He not only took back the helmet, but helped me to find the right helmet to fit my head which turned out to be a better helmet for just slightly more. Both times he mounted my Sena Bluetooth. I made several separate purchases of products at the Mesa, AZ location for several members of our riding club in April of 2020. I unintentionally was overcharged on one of the purchases. I telephoned Lucas the store manager who reviewed their records while I was on the telephone with him. He caught the error and was gracious and most helpful in resolving the matter by refunding the difference. It is not rare for errors to happen when dealing with several large purchases and while documenting to ensure the correct names are on the correct store warranty receipts when making so many large purchases like we made that day. So the most important task when moving as a bike owner is finding a good bike shop. I love these guys. We are currently between South Carolina and Arizona. I wish I could remember the guys name that helped us but you'll have to believe me when I say he exceeded expectations. He was an officer in the Marines, though, and works at this store part time. I needed a helmet. I wanted blue tooth with a full helmet. He took me to the best right off, didn't try to talk me out of it like some do. He helped fit me and showed me how to work the blue tooth and test it out. Then he proceeded to show me some other stuff and talk about some updates. Needless to say we spent a good bit. Now, all of this stuff needed to be shipped to South Carolina where my bike is. No problem. Done without shipping fees. But it wasn't easy. They had each item scheduled to be sent to their store from other stores, of the items they didn't have in stock. It has been about 10 days, they warned me it would take a while, so I called to check the progress. The first guy that answers can't find anything under my name or my husband's name. He is never rude, or interested. Quite the opposite. At this point I'm questioning if I even have the right store. So he asks more questions about the location, what the store looked like, did I remember who I talked to, the brand of the helmet. How nice? He didn't even know if he was helping someone that bought from his store. Still not frustrated with me, he says, let me get my manager, it just seems like it should be this store that you are talking about. I couldn't even find my receipt, proof of purchase, at this point. The store manager calmly talked to me. Figured out who I worked with that day, and he was someone who only works on Mondays. He would through every single receipt from that day until he found mine. Then he said he was personally going to handle this because there was just too much room to get messed up or something forgotten. So once it is all collected they are sending it to me. But the bottom line is, even if they had not been the store I originally went to they would DEFINITELY be the store I would be going to. I went in here the other day after finding these guys on yelp. It is a busy place and they have tons of stuff, from parts to apparel. I'm new to the whole bike world and the guy that helped me was great. When I walked in, I'm sure they could see that I looked clueless. The guy who helped me was really knowledgable and was able to answer any of my questions. He helped with new tires, and then also helped me with my new boots. I was looking for a new turn signal and he said he wasn't sure it would fit. To solve the issue, he just pulled the package open and we went outside to check. It didn't fit, so he helped me order one that would. I explained to him that I was new to motorcycles and he gave me a lot of good information. They even recommended a garage across the street to get my bike work done that ended up working out really well. From other reviews that I read, I was a little nervous about the prices. While I was in the store, I went on my iPhone and checked out prices online. They were either the same as Cycle Gear, or cheaper at Cycle Gear. My boots were exactly the same as online, so I figured I saved myself some shipping charges. I will definitely be going back here for any of my motorcycle needs. They left a great impression on me that I will not forget. read more

First off, Cycle Gear is not a bargain basement. As mentioned before, they sell merchandise across different price points and they have a good return policy. You get what you pay for here and there is always a sale going on. The sales are like the grocery store- If you can predict you need something for later but don't need it right away you can save a little dough in the long run by buying sooner. I bought a battery during "march madness" and beat the battery stores prices and internet prices. Plus they put the acid in the battery for me. If you need help they will guide you through the whole purchase. If you know what you want or are just browsing they will leave you be and once in a while see if you need something. Phone service is just fine, unlike an auto part store. Best part of Cycle Gear? Awesome staff of knowledgeable riders. I really like this store and have had several great experiences here but yesterday was not the case. The guy that I was working with was not polite. I came In looking for a mirrored replacement visor for my hjc helmet and I was met with a smart ass attitude from the sales guy. When I asked if they carried any replacements for my model helmet ( I had called here a few weeks ago and was told they sometimes had the hj17 visors) he said "And you're looking for a mirrored lenses for harley stuff here, why?" And So I told him harley doesn't have mirrored lenses at the store. And he was like "why would they not carry mirrored lenses for their own stuff?". Long story short, you are called "Cycle Gear" because you carry apparel and accessories for motorcycles and dirt bikes... this is why I came to your store and all you had to do is politely look for the items. When he did look for them, guess what? He found a couple! They weren't mirrored, but they were still parts that fit my helmet. There was no need for such poor customer service, especially when I've shopped here a couple times before and even referred friends to this location. Jason is an OUTSTANDING do-right guy!! He went above and beyond to take care of me when I realized I was sold a wrong size tire. I wasn't expecting much since I realized it a lil too late. Checked the ratio and sure enough it was a size smaller. I expressed my concerns in a local social motorcycle group about running a size smaller. To my surprise he was a member, saw my post and jumped in to take full responsibility for the mistake and offered to make it right by getting the correct tire ordered and swap it at nothing additional except the cost difference of the correct tire. Most shops wouldn't go that far. On top of that, when i first brought my wheels in for the swap, it was a little after 6pm, about 40 min.s before they closed. He ended up staying a little late to try and bust out both tires for me (which meant a lot too because its an 80 mile round trip for me). He ended up having some trouble with one though and couldnt finish so I came back the next day. I threw him a little extra for his troubles and for staying late. Being so modest he refused but I insisted. So after discussing it with him I decided to accept his generous offer and opt for the correct size replacement. He notified me the next day that the tire had arrived already and will be in tomorrow to get er done! Such an awesome experience from the time I first called for prices and stock availability, to the end with him doing what it took to make things right after an honest mistake, on both our parts. He could've easily ignored or refused to help me out especially since i had signed for and accepted what was on paper, and didnt double check what i had recieved prior to taking it home. Plus I wasnt even asking for much to begin with. But he stepped in immediately and offered me options to make it right. In retrospect I've been in the customer service business myself for 15+ years and know how it goes. The fact he went above and beyond to do whatever it takes, means more to me than anything else and he's earned a customer for life. If he ever changes locations I'll be going out of my way just to make sure he's the one that I have the privilege of dealing with. read more

They have an excellent selection of gear for street and dirt bikes. They have a good sized maintenance section as well. The selection is great compared to other local shops like dealership and their prices are better too. They sell a ton of stuff online and the prices are the same in store. Unfortunately, the person that thinks they are overpriced must not know that quality gear costs money. Yes you could buy a pair of gloves from Home Depot for $5, but those wouldn't be riding gloves would they? They sell everything but stock just the stuff other local stores don't. If you want it, they will get it and have everything you can imagine on their site. They don't stock a ton of Joe Rocket because everyone else does. I first went in looking for some gloves and wound up getting a pair of Alpinestar that were a little more expensive, but are higher quality and more comfortable. They sell stuff across many price points and have a lot to choose from. Helpful staff too, just ask for help and they will do it. read more

I know all my friends tell me "try out a helmet here, then order online because it's cheaper" well I'm here to tell you that's bologna. I have bought a marked down agv helmet and wore it for 3 years with no issues, my next purchase here was bigger and i bought gloves, jacket and a new helmet. Now this helmet was not AGV, it was sedici, and i wasnt too happy about the visor mechanics from the get go, but i was told it was under warrenty. 2 months went by and my visor came off on the highway, i went on without it for the summer, and then winter came around and i needed my visor again. I went in and a gentleman helped me by giving me free parts to complete my helmet once more. I misplaced one lock later, and went back in the next week and the same service was acquired. I know for a fact no online vendor would replace parts this fast for me. I stand by this shop! Great customer service, couldn't be happier. For anyone that experiences this, i recommend blue loctite on your visor locking screws (this was also recommended by the cyclegear guy that helped me). Ride safe! read more

Honestly don't know what people are complaining about. I read some of the negative reviews and was reluctant on visiting this location. I decided to check it out anyways. I was greeted by all the store members that were on the sales floor with a "welcome and how may we help you." I was helped by Brian. He was very patient and very knowledgeable about the products and options I was seeking. He took to the time to help other customers while I was shopping around. Very pleasant to work with. As for the sexist referenced comments that were left by others? I did not witness such things. There were multiple women at this location. They were treated with the same respect and attention that I received. The selection was good. They had a variety of sizes and option in stock. The prices I found were very reasonable. Deeply impressed! The staff went WAY above and beyond to get me fully outfitted! As a new rider, I was pretty clueless about what I needed. I had no idea what was a proper fit for a helmet, which they totally took care of and even special ordered me something that would work! Finding a jacket and gloves took a lot of work, as my body shape is unique -- I am like a tiny person that got stretched so I am narrow and tall, and finding the right fit was tricky. But they didn't give up until we found something I was proud to wear! They never complained about how long it took me to find what I wanted, and they were more than happy to answer my millions of questions. The staff were helpful and got me pricing on the jacket even though they don't carry it. I ordered a few parts from BikeBandit.com, and they messed my order up to the point that I was left scrambling to get the right parts so I could ride. On a Friday afternoon. Before a 3 day weekend. My bike is my primary transportation. I called up Cycle Gear, and not only did they have what I needed, but Carlo was knowledgeable and even showed me how to use the tool I purchased. So I've been to this cycle gear a lot recently, weather it's for fluids or advice but the best experience I had was just yesterday. I had ordered a Large shoei rf-1200 off of amazon and was initially sent an RF-SR I then reordered to get the correct helmet. Again a Large rf-1200... when I finally got my helmet I tried it on and it was too big. Frustrated I decided to just take the helmet into cycle gear to figure out if I needed a smaller helmet or bigger pads or what. However I was dumbfounded because I had gone into cycle gear prior to ordering off Amazon and the large had fit perfectly. Lucas the gentleman helping me out started having me try on a bunch of different helmets and different sizes and fit. Having my heart set on the rf1200 I was a little upset that it didnt work out. Mostly trying in mediums and larges of different brands. Even changing pads out. After switching out pads for multiple different helmets I asked him if we could put bigger pads into the helmet I had bought off amazon. He kindly obliged and started taking the pads off my helmet to switch them out. Turns out, shoei had actually sold me a XL helmet and put a "large" sticker on it... I'm assuming they did that just to make the sell... we didnt try on any rf-1200s in a large size thinking the large I got was actually a large (rightfully so) and so we downsized. Once I put on a true large, it was a perfect fit. Definitely wont be buying motorcycle gear off amazon again... Anyways, Lucas the gentleman helping me out, was very patient and answered all of my questions to the fullest. He was knowledgeable and helpful and spent about an hour with me to help me find the perfect helmet. He took atleast 4 helmets out of the box and switched out pads and did everything he could. When I finally picked out my helmet, he even out all the extra parts on it for me. After multiple struggles with amazon I could not be more happy with this store and their staff. 10/10 friendly and helpful every single time. read more

Got great help from Riley - pretty uncomplicated visit, needed a not so premium set for a slow cruiser bike - ended up with a good modular helmet, good jacket and good set of gloves, no wasted time or effort. I may be the only female posting a review for Cycle Gear here so far, however I have had the same experience that most of the reviewers have had. This is refreshing in the fact that I have been treated the same as most of my male counterpart riders. The staff are courteous and knowledgeable and treat everyone the same when you walk in (experienced rider or not). Kudos to them for the great service...it's not like that at most places. They have taken the time to answer all my questions and show me different options...options that I didn't even know I had! I have not had any service work done at this location however I can comment on their selection and prices. The selection is fantastic. Street, cruiser, parts, helmets, gear, etc you can probably find it here. If you can't they will offer to order it for you. I like being able to actually see the product (quality, durability, fit) rather than ordering on-line...so this place fits my shopping preferences for most things. I don't see that big of a price difference with most places (or on-line) as they have a lot of stock and selection. There are low end and high end items that should fit most budgets. They have some AMAZING sales as well...I get the mailer and am always going in to grab something while on sale. (maybe that is the X chromosome talking). Regardless of what the other reviews state, they carry a lot of different product across all price ranges. They seem to be pushing the low-end "Bilt" line as the majority of the store is stocked with this stuff, but if you look you'll find some decent brands here. The staff is very knowledgable and all seem to be riders who like to talk shop. It's good to have a shop like this locally, keep up the good work guys. read more
