Discount Tire's business model means I always make sure to come to Discount Tire, and when possible, always this location. The staff here are all very nice and efficient, both at the air check and inside. This last time, Javin and Brent (who have helped me before) were so helpful in getting me taken care of quickly on a very stressful day. Picked up a nail in my tire stopped in this morning to get another tire put on by them. They had a gentleman named Cole that walked me out to tell me that it was something else that they couldn't even put air in it as I've been driving my car all day with Air and when I parked in the parking lot on the nail that was in my tire so made the air come out more. They wouldn't fill it back up with for me since they couldn't help me and they didn't have the tires in stock and said it was unsafe, but I guess it was safe enough for me to drive it off their parking lot with a flat tire instead of me and telling me when they can get the new tire there piss poor service read more

Huge Thanks to Discount Tire in Tempe! I want to personally thank Brent, the manager, and Jonathan, the rep who helped me today. I came in with a screw in my tire, low on funds, just hoping for a patch. They found the damage was too deep, and a replacement tire would've cost around $200-$300 -- money I simply didn't have. Jonathan checked my spare, but it was too old to use. I honestly felt stuck. Then he spoke with Brent, and next thing I know, my car is pulled up with a brand new tire! I was shocked and so grateful. We are huge fans and longtime customers of Discount Tire. We usually go to the one near our house (Warner and McClintock). They are always wonderful! But I found myself with a flat tire yesterday near this Discount Tire. Incredible! From RJ checking my nonexistent tire pressure in my rear passenger tire (without judgment and kindly! What is my mileage? I have no idea and my car is too fancy for my IQ, quite frankly). Anyway, great and very exceptional young man. I was the 3rd person here at 7:45 before they opened at 8am. Simple tire replacement and I had an 8am appt. They said it be done in less than 30 minutes. Came back at 8:30 am and it's still sitting in the parking lot - not touched. They apologized pulled it into the garage and said it will be 15 minutes. Brought in two other cars and started working on them. 8:55am and my car still hasn't been touched. Dorian the salesman has tried to help- but the guy working in the garage Gabriel was one of the most rude customer service people I've ever been in contact with. Here's my updated review: After having a not so great experience at discount tire my post got a response from one of their employees who worked hard to make sure I was happy and to make things right. Thanks Kyle! Here's what happened. I spent $1,000 on four brand-new tires. The process was quick and everything seemed to be fine. I left the store and took a drive on the freeway. When I got off the freeway I noticed my hub cap and one lug nut had fallen off. I went back to the shop and they were apologetic and sent me to an auto shop to fix a cross-threaded stud. They told me, since I was visiting from CA that they could not order me new hubcaps and ship them directly to me. I would need to go to another discount tire to order them... (which was not true). I went to the auto repair place the next day and they fixed the stud, but I noticed a new dent on the front of my hood. It looked like someone had dropped something very heavy on it (like a power tool). I called the auto shop when I got home and they said that they checked the cameras and it was not them. I then went back to Discount Tire and was able to chat with the store manager. He was helpful, told me to buy new hubcaps at Autozone, and reimbursed me in cash. He, however, assured me that the dent was not their fault (I am not convinced). I did not have time to argue further and left. I appreciated that they paid for the broken stud and new hub caps, BUT it was infuriating to waste several hours and have to drive all over town for something that should not have happened. To buy anything for $1,000 you would expect greater care and greater compensation when something goes wrong. read more

I had a screw driver stuck in my front tire of my Jeep Gladiator this morning and was waiting at the door at 7:50 morning to get it fixed or the tire replaced. I received service from a gentleman called Andrew. He first took my call and advised me if my current warranty as well as the service times for the shop. When I arrived he was very helpful in unloading my bad tire and getting g it repaired asap. He then carried it to my vehicle which was parked quite a distance from the shop. I bought my tires and made an appointment for installation on line. I arrived at my appointment about 5 minutes early. I left more than 2 hours later. For reasons not fathomable by me, Discount Tire had commandeered a great chunk of the communal strip mall parking lot to funnel traffic to some stupid tent where an employee was apparently checking air pressures. This effectively blocked parking lot traffic for about 15 minutes, in 110° weather. Blocked, as in can't move, can't even exit the parking lot. I am guessing that cannot be legal. Suffice to say, sitting immobile in a hot parking lot for 1/4 hour makes not for happy campers. When I finally escaped, and got to park, and got to walk in to check in for my appointment, I was told the wait would be about an hour. Fine, until I started noticing folks who had arrived well after I did were leaving with new tires. Upon inquiry, It seems my car was done and that nobody had bothered to inform me. I was in the waiting room, where I said I'd be, approximately 15' away from the service desk. A gentlemen retrieved my car, and sent me off. I noticed, after I'd left, the mileage on the receipt was apparently completely made up. It claimed significantly more miles than were on the car's odometer; that makes it all the easier to not honor warranties, I surmised. Also, one would think that for a $1000+ purchase, the techs could bother to reset the tire warning on the dashboard. One would be wrong. The service was slow, incomplete, physically uncomfortable, physically dangerous, and fraudulent. Other than that, it was swell. read more

They showed me my options for fixing the tire. I had made it very clear that I didn't want to spend a bunch of money and wanted a good mid tier tire, we picked one out that was in my budget. Then after a closer look we found out that the tires were almost 8 years old. He gave me a great price on a new set and had me in and out in about an hour, they even stayed and worked on it after closing so I could get to work in the am. I am very grateful to all these guys!!!! I LOVE this location. Long story short; quick turn around, great service, and they don't try and sell you more then you need/want. Adulting can suck when it comes to vehicles and unexpected cash drains on the reserves... such as needing new tires. This Discount Tire has come in clutch for me since I moved to Tempe. First with my former car, a Scion, and now my new ride, a Hyundai. Anytime I've spoken with someone on the phone, they're clear to let me know the availability and turnaround on having service work done. It's very easy to call ahead and see what their availability is, which sometimes is not always an option. Weekends at a tire shop are generally more choatic than weekdays... trust me I've experienced it firsthand at this location. If you don't have an appointment, you're guaranteed to have to wait longer than those with. Or you can always show up first thing in the AM on the weekend to try and get a good spot in line. With my most recent unexpected/undesired trip, I was able to get my new tires purchased/installed same day on a weekday, and out of the shop in an hour. Whatever kind of day you choose, you're going to run into friendly staff who are there to help you solve the problem at hand, and get you back on the road (safely) as quick as possible. Most Discount Tires also offer free tire pressure testing if your vehicle doesn't have it as part of the technology. read more

After an initial incident that was troubling but fixed, I have to update as my spare tire damn near came of my truck on the I-17. The three lug nuts were hanging by a thread and the only reason I found out was due to an extreme rattle at speed. The spare has been rotated onto the truck as part of my regular rotation a few weeks earlier, so I assume someone forgot to tighten them down during the rotation. Had it come off at highway speed, it could've been catastrophic for divers behind me. It's extremely upsetting and I'm unsure what the deal is, but this location has fallen off, which stinks, as it is only a mile form my home and I've been a customer for a decade now. For 10 years I've bought my tires at the San Diego DT, have always been pleased with the service. Today I went to two different Tempe DT and at both, the sales guys refused to honor the warranty on my tire that had a nail in it. They insisted the patch and plug was safe DESPITE my explanation that I have to drive to California the next day and would prefer a new tire. I got defensive and rude replies from the workers at both these locations. It wasn't until my dad came in to insist on a tire since a patch-plug is NOT safe for high speeds, long distance driving, that the McClintock & Warner dude finally agreed to replace with a new tire. Refilled the tire at my nearest gas station & was on my merry way. A few hours later, my TPM activated & I decided to go to Discount for a closer look. Sure enough, a nail was found! While I was out running errands today, I noticed my tires getting low because of this HEAT So I decided to stop by my local Discount Tire, when a worker named Jayden explained to me they are about to break down the tire refill station due to the weather conditions! Which I TOTALLY understand, you don't want employees getting heat exhaustion.. So incase you are wondering, after the heat reaches 111 degrees they are required to close it down! So I said I could come back next week since they are closed Sundays & I work during the week! However, he said that they would break down the tent & was kind enough to fill my tires since all of them were low.. he also gave me the advice to always refill/check them monthly & since it's hot it's best to come in the morning to guarantee they will be out there to fill the tires! I've never had an issue at this Discount Tire, but I really do appreciate him getting me in for the last air pump since it's hard for me to stop by during the work week! I came in to get some new tires and the good experience started as soon as I called to make the appointment. Jake was so INCREDIBLY helpful and knowledgeable about all the questions I had. He was able to get the tires I wanted in overnight and had them on my car in less than 24 hours. When I walked into the shop for my appointment, Taylor was kind and helpful with the inspection process and was able to transfer me over to Jake as soon as possible. The guys over there were prompt and friendly. In all, the appointment only took an hour. This was my first experience with Discount Tire, and they really made a great lasting impression. I have purchased about 7 sets of tires from here. Went in to have a tire check in my stepsons car from his house which the tire was to low for the machine to put air in the tire. So I drove up to the bay where this nice young man began putting air in for me so I can get home where I do have air compressor. So Byrce comes up and starts telling him he can't do it because the PSI is to low. Poor customer service. This location use to have great customer service. Discount Tire to the Rescue!!! Today at 4:40PM I discovered I had a flat tire. I was able to inflate it and dashed to this store arriving right before they were closing. They took the time to check all of my tires for issues, and to repair the one which was flat. They actually stayed late to make sure I could be on the road safely and back to work tomorrow morning.
