I like coming here because the folks are very nice and easy to talk to. They give you great advice on stuff you need, and really don't ever make you feel like a moron about gear and parts if you have any questions. I would shop here more frequently, except the store is quite small, thereby, there selection is quite limited as well. Love their return policy. Talk about customer oriented. I'm not one to abuse return policies, but it's nice to know that their "Satisfaction Guaranteed" policy is there. read more

As good as it gets. New soon-to-be motorcyclist here, went to Cycle Gear to, well, get some gear. I browsed around on my own for a while and later asked for assistance. Evan was extremely helpful; she talked a lot about which gear to look at and why. She also asked what my motorcycling needs were and recommended gear based on my answers. Overall I learned a LOT today and although I didn't buy today, she made me feel welcome and I will definitely be buying my gear here. Prices on various gear seemed mostly right. read more

Matt and staff are so down to earth and know everything from mini bikes, cruisers, racing, sport touring, and street bikes. Ask them practicably anything. Cycle gear has the best return policy in the industry and they can get any part if they do not have it. Small shop with big shop feel read more

I was super impressed with how helpful and professional Heath is. Not only did he ensure the botched tire job from another establishment would be done correctly, he took the time to explain what was done incorrectly, how that would impact the ride and safety and what should have been done in the first place. Props to a knowledgeable and customer service focused bike shop. read more

Gotta agree with Angela and Chris. The in-store selection is VERY small. But the customer service, I thought, was pretty outstanding. The gal that was helping me was wonderful and even checked the other Cycle Gear stores if they had items I was looking for. But I'd go to another Cycle Gear store (San Jose or SF) if you're looking for a bigger selection. Side Note: 15% MSF discount if you've taken and passed the course. read more

This shop is great! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciate the opinions and advice I get from the staff, yet they are not arrogant or pushy. I've always found what I was looking for, even when I was looking for an item on sale I found in the ad I get in the mail. One time I called them about an item, which they had the last of, and they held it for me until I got there! They are conveniently located on Mission less than 2 miles from where I live. I only wish this particular store was larger. read more

Customer Service is top notch. The guys really care, he explained a lot of the services that I needed for maintenance of my bike. Their prices are relatively cheap. Plus they match prices with East Bay motorsports(tires for me) so thats a plus. They also helped with a return when I was completely confused. read more

Cycle gear is really kind of a weird motorcycle store with a weird, but understandable business model. They offer your really cheap, off brand BILT and SEDECI gear that you really don't wanna buy unless you're on a budget. Then there are the expensive top of the line Shoei QWEST, RF1100, ARAI, etc. helmets they keep stocked. Most of which you can get for close out prices online at Revzilla or Motorcyclesuperstore. I wished they stocked more mid-range lined items like HJC, Joe Rocket, AGV, AlpineStars, Scorpion, etc.For a store of such small size, they could really use more items around that price range because if I'm window shopping for gear, I'm much more likely to pick up something around the mid-priced range than something low (with little brand recognition) nor something premium. On to the store itself: The staff is friendly but the gear selection is pretty limited. I recommend you subscribe to their magazine catalog to catch sales that they have sometime. The catalog is probably the best bet for finding deals at Cycle Gear. The location is kind of in a sketchy location off Mission Blvd. There is parking in the back which can be missed if you're driving past. . read more

I love them . Shop here all the time down the street from my house . They always greet you with a smile . They genuinely care about there job and customers. Shout to their manager for hooking it up !!!! read more

I enjoys going to Cycle Gear, specially this location because most of the staffs here are very friendly and helpful. Specifically Jeremy (cool tattoos with long beard) he is super cool guy and gives nice advices and recommendations. And very knowledgable. Also he helped me getting awesome deals which was going on and I was not aware of. He is a great guy!! I have bought many gears from here to list out few: Alpinestars GP Plus R 2015 Perforated Leather Jacket, BiLT Trackstar Boots, Keeping Cool Vest, Titan Knee Pads, Motorcycle Locks etc... CG has great gears which all the bikers required to know and have! I highly recommend this location of Cycle Gear!! read more

I came here to look for a new helmet and a pair of gloves. I ended up leaving the store without the helmet, but found some gloves for a good price. The selection is somewhat limited, but prices are not bad. If the item is not in stock, they can order the item for you. One of the workers stated that deliveries are on Thursday's. They carry good name brands such as arai, dainese, shoei, etc. They also carry more affordable selections as well as cycle gear's own line, Sedici. read more

Walked in greeted by Authom hope I said it right she was very friendly and helped me out with type of jacket I needed as I am about to go for motorcycles class..as a new rider herself she gave me few pointers and advised me. I will come back and get more gear in the future once I get experienced read more

The staff was slammed with customers right after they opened and still kept things rolling and found time to make sure we got checked on. It seems like a smaller store possibly than what I remembered and the selection on helmets felt a little thin to try and gauge size and brands. Great staff though, but be patient with them if they're busy y'all. read more

A little small sure, but they really do have enough selection for a satisfying browsing experience. The staff is as awesome as the other reviews indicate. I went in to buy a helmet, they offered me 10% off if I picked one off the shelf. I'm a cheap-ass, so I did...when I brought it up to purchase, Matt noticed it was scratched and ordered me a brand new one. But still gave me the 10% discount! I know its only 30 bucks, but still; pretty cool Matt, you just got yourself a customer for life! read more

I come to this Cycle Gear when I'm too lazy to go to the San Jose store. Its a real small store & don't have a lot of stuff compared to the San Jose one. But customer service is excellent & if you ain't happy with the product bring it back for a full refund. If you live in the area, and you have the time & energy, go to the San Jose store its a lot bigger with a lot more selection. read more

This was a bad situation that got worse. I dropped off a tire to have a new tube installed. Vanessa said it would take about a day. So, a day later, I call to see if it's ready...and she tells me it will be another half a day. I ask her to call me when it's done. No call. The second day I call back and Mike says he's working on it and it will be ready in a half hour. I arrived 90 minutes later, and it's not ready. No one is working on it. While I am waiting another 45 minutes, several other walk-in customers are having their tires mounted. Every time another friend walked in the door to have work done, my tire dropped to a lower priority. After about an hour, Mike came out and asked me if he could help me. I reminded him that I was waiting for the tire I dropped off two days prior. He ran to the back, made the repair and returned with my tire in ten minutes. I will not be back to this store. Too bad. My kids are just at the age where they are starting to spend a lot of time on bikes and I'm sure we'll need the support. I'll have to find it elsewhere after being treated so poorly. read more

Nice shop for bikers, not too strict on restrictions like face covers. Bought a good riding jacket, last one on rack and it fit. Prices are reasonable inspite having very little competition. Parking lot is small but its a small store, glad they stayed open. read more

These guys are awesome. Great customer service. They go out their way to make you happy. I am snot glad I live near this place. Knowledgeable rider employees here! Great products at good prices. I highly recommend this location. read more

Normally these folks in Hayward are great. They remember your name and offer real customer service to the customers. Today I went and I received the kind of treatment that makes me not return to a store and it turns out the guy said that he is the boss. Well "boss", take lessons from your employees. Good customer service goes a long way and is what repeat business is generated from. I drive/ride past East Bay Motorsports to come to Cycle Gear because the regular employees at Cycle Gear make you feel like they not only want you there but they want you to come back. Today was the first day I met this "boss" and if he continues to be there and the normal employees are not I will start making the shorter trip to East Bay Motorsports. I hope Vanessa and the regular crew are just on a nice vacation and return soon. read more

Came in on a Wednesday afternoon and was in the market for a Vintage Bell Helmet. Tried on a few for sizing but they just happened to not have the one in White. Two days later UPS delivers to my doorstep with a free Helmet Bag. 5 "BIG" Stars***** for sure..... read more

Cycle Gear - Straight Outta the 70's..... - Motorcycle Gear Near Me - Hayward, California

This company does not stand by its products. I had my bike serviced by a mechanic who installed a Cycle Gear battery. Less than 3 months later, the battery was dead. Because it was installed by a mechanic, the company won't honor the warranty - despite the fact I have an invoice for the battery. Their rationale is that I need the actual order number to honor the warranty. That is something only the mechanic has and he is no longer operational during Covid. They could have looked in their records but instead chose to punt. read more

Went in 20 minutes before closing. Was looking for a helmet, I already knew the type and brand I want, the associate, Angel, was very helpful and found my helmet for me and took the time to explain the differences between the helmet I currently owned versus the one I wanted. Overall, I had a pleasant experience even though I came last minute. Not once during my visit did I felt rushed. Shouts out to Angel, you're the best read more

The shop has a decent selection of gear and motorcycle accessories. I went in for a bike night and the manager Shaun was super cool. I asked him if he had a chin guard for a Shoei Multitec helmet. Shaun was able to find one. When I asked him how much it was, he let me have it for free. Shaun made my day. I would definitely return and do business at this place again. read more

They are nice people and try there best to help, I have to admit that the girl working there does not know much but she does try to help, They help me to find the right chain for my 2013 BMW F800, we finally got it right :)) I would go back there again to buy more stuff read more

Went to replace a tire. I had bought the warranty/insurance. They prorate the replacement based on tread wear. They tell me they have lost the tool (which is a ruler) to measure my tread. Maybe I'm crazy but that seems ridiculous. read more

This review is for the store and the online shop. Went to the store (Hayward) and they were very helpful even though they didn't have what I needed. That boosts the rating up from what it may have been otherwise. Online. Placed an order. Waited like a week, then I call them, "Yo, where is my order!" them - "what is your order number?" me - "Order number." them - "I can't find it. what is your name and email address." me - "stuff." them - "I still can't find it, can I take your phone number and call you back." me - "okay, that's fine." Three months later, I still have never received a call back from them. I emailed them a few days after this incident and asked them to cancel the order. They have not responded to that email either. Not a good way to run your online business. read more

Don't buy tires from Cycle Gear.....anything but tires,......they're way expensive and slow. One time the gal working the counter said my tire would get done right after her own set of tires were finished... I mentioned I was a customer and she said "O yeah...right..." read more

I agree with Chris that the staff is always busy talking within themselves to provide any decent customer service. They had one of their friends drop by to chat with them the last time we were there. You really need to do your homework before coming to this location. However, they do have some sweet deals on apparels and helmets. You just can't go wrong with a $10 Fox and Alpinestars t-shirts or $34 dirt bike helmets. If you want to skip the annoyance of going to a store, try their website. One thing really odd about them is that the store sale and the website sale sometimes doesn't correspond with each other. They would have in-store only sale that is not available online or vice versa. read more

On the hunt for a new motorcycle helmet, we drove out to Hayward to check out their selection. I had been eyeing an Icon helmet I saw online but figured we'd stop by the store to see if they had it. They didn't and while they said they could order it to be delivered to the store for me, they had no idea what brand that they did have in stock would fit similarly. So, that wasn't much help. Working in retail previously, I feel like you should at least know something that fits similar. Otherwise, how are you supposed to feel confident ordering something sight-unseen? I didn't feel like waiting a week for it to come in, only to be the wrong size and having to wait again. read more

Friendly staff. Eager to help you. Be patient cuz the place can get slammed. I bought my helmet there. I wanted the AGV K3 but they didn't have the black one. They are a smaller cycle gear. Ok. So I tried on a Sedici and a couple others and left with the Sedici. Two days later I had to come in to by the side visor knob. I told I flipped up my visor and the knob flew off on the Bridge they had them and gave them to me. I said what do I owe you? They said it's covered under warranty. cool thanks. I didn't expect that. This will be my go to cycle gear. read more
