I've been going to Ken at HAC for years now, and I didn't even realize I hadn't left a review for…read morethem. This is my go-to mechanic for all things automobile. Ken worked as a mechanic for Honda for over 15 years before opening his own shop, and I feel we're all the more lucky that he did. I bring both of my cars to him for regular oil changes and maintenance, and I've sent all of my friends and family to him as well. Ken knows both of my cars and reminds me when it's time for routine maintenance, if there are other issues that I didn't notice, and he's the type of person who will work an issue until it's completed and solved. He's trustworthy, honest, knowledgeable, and it has been a pleasure doing business with him and his family all these years. As an example of the sort of value you get by going to HAC, I recently had the misfortune of breaking a plastic clip on the inside of my gas cover door. Without it my gas tank won't pop open. I went to the dealer to see if it was covered by my extended warranty, and of course it wasn't. The spring costed $16, but they wanted to charge me $265 to install it I called Ken and he said "buy the part and I'll take care of it for you." So I drove 50 feet next door to HAC, Ken looks at the issue and says "I can fix that. $95." $95!!!!! THAT is why I continue to patronize HAC, and you should, too.

Yes, I should've done my homework beforehand (failed) and paid more for convenience. Completed in 20mins. I would consider returning for other services. Disclaimer: There was no hard sell and/or pressure from Ken or his son who were friendly and efficient. I brought my car in because it wasn't driving the way it normally does. They kept the vehicle for a day and contacted me the following day to recommend replacing the transmission. The estimate was approximately $9,800, which was far beyond what I expected--and, quite frankly, extremely concerning. My vehicle is not yet six years old, and I have consistently kept up with routine maintenance, including regular oil changes. Naturally, I was very disappointed to be told that I needed a replacement transmission, especially at that cost. I decided to get a second opinion from another repair shop, and I'm very glad I did. They diagnosed the issue as spark plugs and ignition coils--not a transmission problem. After replacing those components, my car is now running beautifully. I appreciate the customer service I received, but unfortunately, I cannot justify returning to a shop that would recommend a repair of nearly $10,000 when the actual issue turned out to be something significantly less expensive. I understand that diagnostics can sometimes be complicated and that different shops may reach different conclusions. However, an estimate of $9,800 is a substantial amount of money, and I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before committing to a repair of that magnitude. I've never seen a smog shop take longer than 30 minutes at the most to finish a smog check on that truck. He also had very high prices. $190 for 99 and earlier vehicles. The most I've paid in the past at other places is $120. I would avoid this guy and his shop. Seemed sketchy to me.
