They do really good work here, and are probably about 10% cheaper than my other mechanic I used to go to in Hayward. It's also within walking distance of my house so I don't have to pay for an Uber/wait for a ride when I drop or pick my car back up. I've had an oil change done here, a front headlight replaced, and they fixed a recurring issue I was having w/my blind spot detection system and key fob -- the latter something my prior mechanic was not able to fix for some reason. The blind spot detection system error light did come back on after about a week, but I think it requires more than just resetting the code/calibrating. I will just live w/that for now. The only demerit I would give is for when your car is ready. Each time I've dropped off, I've been told the shop would call me when they had an update or when the work was fixed (expecting 2 calls), but I never got any calls each visit -- I had to physically call and usually had to leave a voicemail which was not always returned. They are pretty busy so I get it, but you would think they'd want to call you to get your car out of there to clear up the queue when it was done. The last time I went -- I had initially dropped my car off around 8:15am or so and didn't hear back around 3:45pm yet (was told to expect an update around 11-12p) -- so I was forced to walk there, not knowing if my car was ready or not, and after waiting awhile found out my car was ready. It still took another 20-25 minutes to get my bill, pay, and get the car brought up to me based on the size of the lot and the amount of cars that are in that lot (every mechanic seems to have tons of cars in their lot that are not driveable taking up a ton of real estate on premises). It started to rain too and the waiting area itself is quite small inside -- I ended up waiting outside under an awning for my car. They didn't seem to be in any rush to get my vehicle out -- not sure if it was just too busy that day or they are just not that assertive with check out procedures. It'd be nice if even if they didn't call you w/an update, that they'd at least call you when the car was ready and then got you ready to check out fairly quickly, especially if they'd had the car for around 6-7 hours for not incredibly comprehensive service. I will continue to go, but will expect to have to proactively show up towards the end of the day and hope I can get my vehicle out in a reasonable amount of time. Otherwise, they do very solid and affordable work. read more

If you in need for a safety inspection for your salvage car come here. It's a flat rate of $200. I know it may seem a bit much but you got to do what you got to do when you have to re-register your car once it's salvaged. It was hard finding a place that actually does this type of inspection. read more

I took my uncle's car here on a busy afternoon. The guy Sean was pretty professional and prompt. The service may be slow because the shop already has a lot of cars to fix on. Took the car here for lamp inspection - technically, it failed but he pointed out what needs to be fixed. The lamp inspection was about $90+ and the stuff that needs to be fixed was additional $45, which were the lug nuts and something from the headlight. The re-certification for lamp inspection is free after it failed. Great service. 4 stars for me! read more

This review is long overdue! I'm sure they do a decent job on oil and breaks because they have cars getting worked on all the time but... Avoid this place at all cost for anything else especially European cars! I took in my Passat because it wasn't starting and the worst month of my life proceeded! I dealt with Sean who wasn't at all transparent with me! After a week or so of not getting it to work, he sent it to VW dealership without asking my permission. Only after going to VW myself did I figure out that he caused more problems to the car than solutions. Now the minimum to start the car was $2500. Of course I couldn't afford that and had to sell the car to pick and pull. I reported him to a state worker that handed me a letter with what he found in his investigation to take to court. Long story short save your self the trouble and go to a shop that is honest and upfront. read more

I've mainly been dealing with Paul & Sean; I've been going to their shop since 2005 for all my auto checkup up -- oil change, smog check, etc. They're knowledgeable, polite and I know I can trust their work. It's difficult to find a mechanic you can trust where they won't jack up the price when they pretty much know you're nearly clueless when it comes to cars. They also don't recommend unecessary repairs or maintenance services, like how other car shops do. Their service is also pretty quick, of course depending on how many cars they need to work on before yours. They've also been able to give me a ride to work (I work less than 3 miles away) when I need to leave my car for a little while. Of course this isn't part of their regular service :-) I highly recommend their shop for all your car maintenance & repair needs. They're close to the 880 (across the Hayward DMV) so it's pretty convenient to get to their shop. read more
