I like this specific location for tire services, as they offer relatively low prices for tire change/balances. Came twice for the service and left with it done on the same day. He assisted us with our helmet purchases, and was incredibly consultative with helping us find the right fit. He took the time to answer our Q's, and even helped make an order for my first ever helmet purchase since the color I wanted wasn't in the store. Horrible Customer Service - Refused to Help After My Package Was Stolen I ordered from Cycle Gear, and the package was marked as delivered -- but I never received it. They left a $317 jacket right in front of the entrance! It was stolen, and when I reached out to their customer service, they refused to issue a refund or offer any real help. They could have just require signature and I wouldn't be dealing with this right now. They basically said it wasn't their problem, even though the item never made it to me. No shipping insurance or protection -- just a total lack of responsibility. I've dealt with many online companies, and this is by far the worst customer service I've experienced. I do not recommend ordering from them unless you're willing to take a risk and be completely ignored if something goes wrong. read more

This location has a solid selection. I'm there almost every weekend. They have most of the things I need and a decent selection of gear. I appreciate some of the employees. Kerry with a K is always really helpful and so is the assistant manager. The manager is but I usually ignore him when I go in. They have bigger locations but this is the closet to me and it works just fine. I'd give it 5 stars but the service and attitude from a few of the staff sucks. Some of them are not very knowledgeable. I've had to return items because they gave me the wrong one. They have a system to look it up but still, on multiple occasions they fetch me the wrong item. My Kawasaki Z900 was having issues starting so I decided to purchase a new battery and start for there. They checked the battery and was honest up front that they could not determine if it is a new battery that I needed. I went ahead and bought one anyways. Purchased first battery a noticed that the positive terminal did not fit due to the design on the positive terminal on my bikes cable. I decided to go back to cycle gear to see if there's was anything else they can do. Purchased and different battery was had the same issue. I ended up calling them and Heath went above and behind in helping me. I sent him a few photos and he gave instructions on what he would try to do to make it fit. If I could give negative stars I would. They're crooks here, took in two of my dirtbike tires for tire replacement and tube change. They didnt call me to let me know the only had heavy duty tubes in stock which cost more and they installed without asking me. Then, they tell me when I go to pick them up, they said they had to replace my rim Strips which is understandable. I went to the track and after an hour my back tire gos flat. I had the guy at the track "dirt tech" check it out. He said the nipple ripped off from the tube, so I had him replace it, which it shouldn't have happened, when he removed the tire, I had very old rim strips on my bike. THEY WERENT REPLACED! liars. They won't hear the end of this until I'm refunded my money and then some. read more

So I approach the wall of helmets and start putting them on so we can see what size my helmet could fit on this head. My husband and I both ride motorcycles... So knowing where there's a nearby Cycle Gear is always somewhat vital! Luckily, when we moved to the East Bay we found there was one in Hayward and felt very lucky! This is a decent sized location, with similar stock and options as other Cycle Gears I've been to. This one never seems too busy, which is great for us (but probably not for them), and the people there are always super helpful. Sometimes they almost overshare and try to help too much (we got caught in a really long description with one of their employees once, and it was somewhat of a simple question). But I'd rather that then people being unhelpful! The parking lot is behind the building, and there's ample space. We actually came here last year for an "event" they were having to celebrate people who work in EMS (I'm a nurse and my husband is a firefighter), and they had free food and gave away prizes! That was pretty fun. I definitely think this is a good Cycle Gear, and we will shop here whenever we need to. Their online stock is really good (and often better), so I think we tend to look on there first. I believe you get free shipping to a store from their website, so that's another plus as long as you're in the neighborhood. read more

Okay.. let me just say.. the staff here.. LOVE EM! Talked to Vanessa on the phone when I first called here. I was inquiring about lowering links, and she was SUPER helpful. She had to get her bike lowered for her GSXR too and even offered to let me sit on her bike when I came in since I have a GSXR too. I think the guys name is Mike.. a little long curly hair and always wears a baseball cap. When I first walked in, he goes, "What are you doing tonight?" I looked at him like wtf? "Excuse me?!" And he goes.. "I said, what are you doing tonight?" That was a superb introduction. Apparently there was going to be a bike night that night, and I'm not that much experienced yet, so I couldn't ride my bike out for the event. This shop carries a lot of your motorcycle needs. They've been helpful, but don't expect superb customer service. This is your local friendly neighborhood motorcycle shop. Not Target or Walmart where the customer is always right. Ive been going to Cycle Gear for several yrs now, and have had great service and customer service from Quincy, Sadly Quincy decided to move on. Last week, i came in to order a mirror adaptor for a handlebar mirror i wanted to install on my Yamaha. After Two mechanics spent almost 45mins examining my bike they concluded that they didnt have the adaptor and had to "special order" it which cost me an extra 3$ for shipping which i was okay with. Today they called me and i came in to pick up my Adaptor....Much to my DISMAY they had order the entirely wrong part.....and then told me that in fact they cant find the part in their catalogs... When i asked for a refund they proceeded to only refund me for the part, not for the Shipping. When i asked "what about the 3$ i payed for shipping", Vanessa Responded "what about it?" in a Very RUDE and short way. When i explained why i should not have to pay for a part they ordered incorrectly she finally said Fine! and gave me a full refund. I wish i had taken the time to talk to her supervisor, Vanessa is Rude, and has horrible customer communication skills. Making a mistake is forgivable, denying blame, and being rude and deceitful is not. I wont be coming back. read more

They give you great advice on stuff you need, and really don't ever make you feel like a moron about gear and parts if you have any questions. I would shop here more frequently, except the store is quite small, thereby, there selection is quite limited as well. Love their return policy. Talk about customer oriented.
