Could you please train your young employees on how to work with the public? The young cashiers are particularly lacking. The cashier who helped me with my purchase was Joann, and I'm not sure if it was her inexperience or a lack of skills that was the issue. To be honest, she seemed completely unprepared for the job. Will I return NO and I will be sure to share my experience with anyone I come in contact with. read more

Awful and not considerate!!!! Our battery positive charge Kept shaking and the car could barely move because it wasn't getting enough juice we got there at 9pm, and they close at 10pm. And we asked to borrow a wrench just to tighten the screw by the positive charge for our battery. The manager said no because they are about to close, and when we asked if they can help he said "go look on YouTube". We had a WHOLE HOUR before they closed just to borrow a wrench to tighten a screw. We went in and bought one for $12 and fixed it. It was literally done in 5 mins. Just common decency and care and they did not have. Evil, and inconsiderate read more

Workers didn't bother to help and did not seem like they wanted to. Talk to me like I was unintelligent. Air filters were cramped into the shelf. Hard to pull of the shelf or find a filter. I requested for them to find the filter but they just flipped the screen and said " here yo go your part". No I needed them to find it. read more

Last week I walked in and frankly had a wonderful experience was fully acknowledged when walking in through the door, after waiting in line for a starter a part that I thought I needed I was helped by a lovely manager, Alyana very nice and kind explains to me that she can test it out for me so I don't waste money on something that might not be necessary turns out it was my battery not only did she help me figure that out but once I purchased the duralast battery a good and affordable battery not even asked she afforded to install it for me she's a perfect example of what Autozone customers would love to be helped by. read more

My trips here are limited and nothing beyond $200. However, each visit has been smooth, staff are helpful and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of or looked upon as a woman. It can be intimidating (tho their app is also great) so it's nice to know A trip to Hesperian led to me being given the wrong part to purchase. Jackson street took my items back no question and helped triple check that the part was appropriate for my car. Offered to help with install and though I didn't need it, I appreciated the gesture. The staff was apologetic for the issue though it wasn't their store/staff which was also nice. Minus 1 star because one of the staff (real young looking guy) was talking to a friend in the parking lot openly about doing something shady! haha What you do in your personal life is your business, just take it out of the business parking lot. read more

The girl who answered the phone was totally unprofessional. Sounded like she was having a conversation with someone in the background and did not look up the part I needed. Also told me that it was a special order in that there was none available in the area. After looking online and seeing that they had the part, I went in to pick it up. I asked for a manager, and it was the person who she was flirting with. The manager did not do anything nor confront the female. I think the manager and the female both need to be fired. They could have lost out on $150 sale if it wasn't for the online portal. While I was inside, the female also told another customer that they did not have a part that he already saw it was available online at that store. read more

Abraham replaced my car's battery during a light rain without complaining. He was fast, efficient and polite.

Chris and entire staff were extremely professional and helpful. Went in to a return a part I purchased a few weeks ago. There was some kind of glitch in the computer but instead of turning me away and telling me to come back, they exhausted their resources and were able to help me out. I really appreciate the great customer service! Thank you read more

Need to change the whole crew in order to make more money and more business. This location is Sucks can't get any help from anybody even manager are the same thing. If you ask them which one is the right one they will say we don't know we are not a mechanic. And if you ask the other one they will tells you the same thing they are not a mechanic. What kind of answer and behavior is that? Hey Mr Or Miss District manager you need to replace your whole crew, this is very Bad not good in the business. read more

I feel like my Jetta is slowly slipping into heapdoom. The headliner slowly tears away and starts to hang. More and more lights collect on the dash and a laundry list of deferred maintenance accumulates that all the money in China couldn't pay for. Yes thats the feeling of owning a German car past the warranty period. Some strange odor was getting evermore intense inside. Was it that clogged sunroof drain acting up again? Did I lose a McDonalds cheeseburger that made its way under the seat. Or maybe we can blame Baby Wrinkles and Little Sweets - the usual suspects. These days more and more public retail establishments have worse and worse hours. Closed early and even at sundown for this reason or that. Short staffed. Crime - all these excuses. Not here - this place is open super late. Crazy late - check the hours yourself and feel free to call before you go... My first time to this new location. I feel like I visited more when it was next to The Twilight Zone. Don't know why it took so long to visit - I blame the Spaghetti streets of Downtown Hayward. Decided to give a new cabin air filter a whirl - if you've got strange odors in your car this is a great place to start. Multiple in stock including a lifetime K+N - I found the selection impressive. Got out quick - very good experience - don't ever try to dig through unorganized shelves at your local Walmart to save a buck - its not worth it - you've got better things to do like do some detective work of 'who done it.' read more

I wouldn't go to this location staff is very unprofessional .I try to buy Cabin and Air filter for my Vehicle that was already registered in the system.Prior to being helped I heard them using N word multiple times when talking about what they did for Christmas.I went to my car for registration and the Hispanic was giving me the runarounds.I told them that I don't deserve to be treated like this so I'm going to Orielly. I asked for disability accommodation and the Woman started heckling me when walking away stating not my fault don't know kind of car I have. The Lady was so rude that I recorded the whole incident on my phone and also filed a Police report because she threatened me. read more

Really grateful for their help! Anytime I've gone in for anything I need, they are always more than helpful. Another worker was also very nice and helpful, though I didn't catch his name. Thank you again! read more

Im fuckin pissed, i returned an 02 sensor i ended up not needing 3 MONTHS ago and it was never returned to my account. I went in the other day and inquired about it and they basically told me IM BURNT. Askin why i waited so long to ask about it. Im always hella busy and couldnt find time to get across the bay area to come ask about it. I know damn well they should never have tried to return the money to MY cash app card when it was bought on my wifes bank card. I asked them that day about exactly that and they told me it was ok.... NIGGA IT WASNT. NOW IM GONNA GO SPEND MY MONEY AT OREILLYS ACROSS THE STREET! I WAS a loyal customer to Autozone, but fuck that. They wouldnt even get me the manager to talk to. Must have been 5-6 p last Thursday. When I walked in a counter man was showing full annoyance with a customer who needed help. There was a shorter young woman at the other register then disappeared when it was my turn. The man who had been roasting his customer called out to the woman and said " I hate to bother you again." Really? I said " damn customers." She dragged herself to the counter .When I asked her for the lightbulb number for my 2015 1/2 ton van, she asked me what model. I had forgotten and she had no suggestions. In fact I ended up asking a third guy about the model and he came up with it . It was the express. By the time I had the bulb in my hand I was so posses off that I left the receipt that gets me paid back. Didn't matter. I had to get out of there. I looked at her badge. It was faded but I could barely read something about customer service. It made me gag. I will never go back. They get a top 3 in my entire life of the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I told her to look for herself on Yelp! I would advise driving anywhere else on the planet. The employees all need to take a week off without pay and call it "Employees Job Appreciation Week". No pay. No job. 24 hours after the review I have additional thoughts. If a person does not like their job they should look for another one. Some people don't belong behind a counter facing other humans. These folk would be better suited working by themselves where the public is safe from bs coming out of the mouth of the unhappy. A graveyard shift somewhere at a factory where the machinery is the only thing to talk to. Please. Reconsider your positions and take appropriate action. Still, the damage was done. I would never advise anyone ever come to your store. read more

We had an awkward experience when we came here last weekend to get a battery replaced. Our car battery stopped working right before we were about to run some errands, so me and my boyfriend decided to stop here and get it fixed real quick. Honestly, we may as well have fixed it ourselves because the young employee named Victor who helped us out was not much help at all. He refused to take out the old battery and his attitude was not very professional. Him and my boyfriend went back-and-forth about it how to go about this process and in the end my boyfriend ended up replacing the entire battery herself. The only response from the employee was, "oh, you did it!" The employee was trying to send it over to a mechanic to fix something as simple as car battery, thank goodness we know a bit about cars and were able to do it ourselves. read more

Just called this store 3 times. First time, I was immediately put on hold -- no one said anything, just put me on hold. I waited about 3 minutes, then someone picked up the line and immediately hung up. I called back; they picked up after one ring and hung up without saying anything. I called again. This time it rang for about 45 seconds, then hung up. Last time I'll ever bother trying to give this store my money. Congrats on permanently losing a customer. read more

Get in the Zone! AutoZone Are you a self made car mechanic. Well I am and it's good to have a Auto Zone near by to work on car when I need it. I'm lucky enough now to have a reliable car but in the past this wasn't as true as it holds today. I am self taught in my Auto mechanic ways but with the help of AutoZone they make me look like a super star. They tend to always have the parts I need in stock and most stuff is priced about the same as you will get online. The main is if you need something they have it in stock so you don't have to wait. No one likes to wait as there car gets repaired. So going here for simple parts to just oil changes or fluids. It's nice to have a good auto parts store near by. I like to get in the Zone; the staff is friendly and will help you out. It's pretty cool that they rent or lend out tools. I need a big tool to pull out my axles and I rented the tool and returned it cheaper then just buying the tool outright for a job I just need to do one time. The only reason I got to give them 4 out of 5 is they don't have very much parking in this location and the price of oil and filters are marked up a bit much. You can get oil online or at Wallmart for the cheaper prices but in a pinch AutoZone has you covered. I would return and want to say keep up the good work at this location. read more

We all know there's a million and one autozones full of men who "know everything about cars" abs treat you with the lease amount of respect especially if you're a woman. No ones crying over here just stating the facts of mechanics and of the likes. He'll have the patience that you're looking for if your car is causing you issues and/or general help. read more

I placed an order for a radiator and antifreeze. Through their 800# and gave the guy a specific part # he argued with me stating that was NOT the part number when I had already looked it up in order to get that number after much going back and forth with this barely speaking English male. I had to have repeat the delivery address 4times because his three sounded like two. Then I asked to pay extra for same day delivery. I was told NO because the system didn't allow it?. So he charged my card. And was given a confirmation number for the order. But I didn't believe him. So I called back and asked another person if I could pay for same day. He said YES I COULD. they would charge me another fee. So he canceled that order gave me another number and about 4 hours later AutoZone called back asking me if I received the order, being it went to a repair facility they had been waiting for the order. I checked with the repair facility and they said they NEVER DELIVERED THE PART? So I told the guy the driver never delivered!!!. Come to find out the CANCELED BOTH ORDER'S AND CHARGED ME FOR BOTH. THEN THEY LIED AND SAID IT WAS GOING OUT FEDEX NEXT DAY? WHEN THE SHOP IS ONLY 4MILES AWAY INSTEAD OF REDELIVERING. THEN COME TO FIND OUT AFTER CHECKING THE FEDEX NUMBER ONLY A NUMBER HAD GENERATED NO PARTS WAS EVER PICKED UP? WOW WHAT A BUNCH OF DUMB IGNORANT LIARS. MEANWHILE THEY CHARGED ME TWICE OVER 300.00 AND TOLD ME I HAD TO WAIT 3-5 DAYS TO RECIEVE MY MONEY BACK. I WOULDN'T ORDER A SCREW FROM THESE IDIOT'S. THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND UNTRUSTWORTHY. At around 3pm I went to 771 Jackson st in Hayward Ca store #2847 I needed to replaced my battery but have it tested prior the purchase. A few people waiting (3) me included. This new kid tall skinny brown skinned with prescription glasses. (Alonso Alfonso) something alike. I'm assuming he is new because he didn't know how to look for parts in the computer he kept asking this short straight brown hair Chola like Latina girl with a very bad attitude problem. (I assumed) she was a supervisor or so because she kept telling the new kid what to do. The Kid went to get the battery I needed for my Kia Optima ex and when he got back to the register I told him I need to have my current battery tested before I purchase the new one and if I was to purchase the new battery if they can install it because my car earlier didn't turn on I had to jump started. The young guy asked this short Latina girl, she turned around and said NO we don't do that, and PER YOUR WEBSITE, and TV ADVERTISEMENT. (I was saying to myself how so because again it is promoted) then I asked her, so you guys can't install this $300 battery that I need right now? She goes (again with her attitude) "if you want you can't buy it and if it doesn't work for you or your current battery is good just bring it back" I was like wow ok so you guys CANNOT do it for me? She's like "Nope" hmmm I said then she said well we can but the ONLY guy who does it "The manager" isn't here today and WE ARE NOT TRAINED for that. I said wow ok so that's not gonna work for me. She goes well and turned around. I left to AutoZone on Mission Blvd. (SUPER GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE) and I asked the same thing and they all go "wow they told you that?" I said yes they said "yeah they just didn't wanna do the job". So guys at Mission blvd súper great helped me great service. I decided to call your store at Jackson #2847 that girl with the nasty attitude goes hold, I was on hold for about 10mns I hung up called again, again she's Hold.. I held another 5/7mns I called again she answered I said please don't put me on hold (and didn't give me a chance to finished and she put me on hold) again I called (I wanted to know the managers name) she answered and again I said don't put me and if course she just hung up I called again some guy answered the phone I asked for the manager he said how can I help I said what is the name of the short girl that's working there right now "he said he didn't know she's new" I said ok what's your name? He said Joseph I said whhats the name of the manager? He said Joseph I said oh like you? He said I'm the manager. I asked oh you're the manager and you don't know your employees name? He said she's new started today I said ok but you don't know your new employees name? He said hold.. NEVER CAME BACK to the phone. So with that being said. I am also reporting this to corporate and to yelp and your website and bbb. It is unacceptable to have that type of customer service, and kind of people who CLEARLY don't care about their job nor care about the company they are representing. Disappointed. read more

THIS LOCATION STEALS FROM CUSTOMERS! I placed an autozone order on February 21st. I no longer needed the part, called and asked the store to cancel my order since there wasn't an option on their app. I check back today to see if I'm refunded and I wasn't. The app stated that I "picked up" the order. I never placed foot in the store to receive the item. I called the store today and told them what I said above and all I was told was that I have to come in with a receipt or call customer service. Now why would I want to waste gas and come down there for something that was NOT my wrongdoing? The GIRL on the phone was completely rude too. As soon as she picked up the phone she placed me on hold without asking me to put me on hold. They are complete imbeciles here. I will no longer do business here as a regular. read more

The worst customer service ever, hope the management can help their employees to improve their customer service. I went there to get a light bulb for my car, the girl there was " what car" so I explained. She mentioned a code number, which I didn't even remember when she just pointed on the aisle. Didn't even explained where, column, nothing. I couldn't find the code that she gave me. Was terrible! I had to call my husband to do a video-call so HE can help me instead of the 2 girls there. I mean, I am a women, we don't know everything about car parts and the least thing we could ask is for help. I arrived at the end of the day, 5 minutes before they closed. They were nice enough to let me look up the part. This is what bugged me. I have a 95 toyota van and I asked them about front brakes. He looked it up and it said not in stock. He then told me he can NEVER ORDER IT. I was like, even special order, he said he can't. I shop at this store when I need a very specific part or have a question. Walmart sells basics like oil and wax cheaper, but for many things you need a real auto parts store. This AutoZone has a large in-stock inventory and next day availability in many other cases. They've always checked that a requested part is a match for my car. Not just once in their system to go retrieve it, but again with the actual at the counter. A couple of times they've pointed out if an alternative brand has a rebate offer available. In addition, the store is clean, well organized, and staffed by friendly associates. Does performing what should be standard business operations and customer service deserve 5 stars? Not sure, but each time I've left I've felt like they exceeded my expectations. Admittedly, those expectations have been beaten down by a few visits to the nearby O'Reilly. read more
