It really helps when you need immunizations or anything semi urgent done within a day or two. Getting an appointment and knowing the wait time is a breeze. Do it online and save yourself the stress. The healthcare providers here are kind and courteous and highly qualified to treat you. Diana was great, and she even remembered me from a previous visit! Hidden within a typical CVS is a gem. Give it a try. Prices are reasonable too(but do your research), as a recent grad this is super important to me. I've been here three times due to externship requirements and have never had a bad experience or long waiting time. In fact my unexpected positive experience is what prompt me to write this review. I can give this place big fat negative points. The Pharmacist made a huge mistake by giving me a partial prescription---which I was not told. Then when I wanted to pick up the rest at another CVS, they would not fill it as I had to personally come to the Bancroft one. In short, after 40 mins on the phone trying to check if any other pharmacy will fill my Rx, I got exhausted and of course I needed my medicines. So when I called them back they were very rude and told me "tough luck" go $%%# your self. Please be careful as shenanigans like these gets drug companies in big lawsuits. I am nice and am not a suit happy guy but if I did not have my meds on time, there would be a lawsuit. Thsi was not my fault. With all the AI technologies none of the techies in the Silicon valley has figured out how can I get my meds delivered to me without any mistakes and why do we need Pharmacists?!!!!-- any robot can do that job. I left the pharmacy in tears today. I'm not the emotional type but they brought me to the brink of losing it. The clerk at the pharmachy refused to contact my insurance company to confirm my prescription coverage. He told me that I could take care of it myself and get reimbursed (yeah, right). The prescription was for emergency antibiotics so I had no choice but to pay cash. Then the guy had the nerve to refuse to give me a receipt (because his printer was broken). I stood my ground on that score but he gleefully made me wait 10 minutes until he got around to printing it out on another machine. The sadism of this guy was unreal. Finally, he had the nerve to get annoyed when I asked him to scan my CVS card (if I'm having to shell out a hundred+ dollars I can't afford, the least they can do is put the credit on my card.) I've never been so angry and will absolutely be finding another pharmacy, even if this one was convenient. read more

A convenient drug store down the street from my apartment, well stocked and clean. I do agree with nearly all other reviewers though, the staff here is a bit off. On my most recent visit, I bought two 2-liters of soda, and in the 90 seconds I waited in a short line and paid for my purchases, I learned that not only is my cashier pleased to see Pepsi products on sale but not too pleased because she's trying to avoid soda, I also learned as she analyzed the customer after me that her husband is not a fan of Sierra Nevada beer. WHO CARES??? It is a major pet peeve when cashiers ANYWHERE feel the need to give their opinions on what I'm buying - it's not their job to offer editorials, it's your job to ring me up, get me out the door quickly, and help me find anything if needed. Let customers request your opinion, otherwise keep your judgments and such to yourself. ERGH! A good store, but be prepared for almost anything from this wacky staff. Go here as a last resort. Yes, it's open 24 hours. So is Safeway next door. Besides that, the prices are NOT the lowest, the decor and feeling about the store is GENERIC everything. And I mean generic - CVS is notorious for copying its own brand name items it carries by copying the actual packaging design. Then it prices CVS branded items about a buck less. Performance and quality wise, it's a fake and the savings are a sham - go genuine or go broke. It's annoying and sad, each time I visit CVS, I have to go home and shower from the sad feeling of generic'ness - inadequacy. Most importantly, I don't go here often unless emergency situation, and whenever I check out, it's 2/3 times the register will be wrong, CVS pricing is often wrong if the item says its on sale, be sure to check your receipt 'cause you'll likely see full retail price. Ironically, I was with family and we were speaking of this very mis-charging and the class action lawsuits filed down in SoCal, CVS was mentioned, the same night I am going to buy some toiletries and I had to go back to return item and get my money on mischarged items. This isn't a one time thing, this is common. Be careful. p.s. I miss Longs Drugs, when it was locally (Walnut Creek / Lafayette) owned and a characteristic shopping resource for the East Bay area. Gayle and I stopped by the other night on an errand and found the Service to be quick, helpful and CERT friendly. When my friend was standing at the pharmacy counter, she started feeling sick and asked the pharmacist to get her a cup of water upon which the pharmacist did not get her any water. Se tried to let the pharmacist know she felt like she was going to faint but no action was taken by staff. My friend then vomited on the counter and was told to go sit down around the corner from the pharmacy. She was sitting there for more than 5 minutes when I showed up and no one had attended to her. The pharmacists behind the counter were more concerned with the clean up and helping other customers than making sure she wasn't seizing on the floor. What would have happened if she had a seizure or was choking? No one had checked on her so whatever could've happened could've been a huge liability for cvs. My other issue with the pharmacists behind the counter is when my friend attempted to get her prescription after being sick and unattended, ALL of the pharmacists were staring at us standing in line looking disgusted. I felt extremely uncomfortable and I wasn't even the one who got sick so I can't imagine how my friend felt. When we approached the counter a female pharmacist very cautiously approached the register, double checking with all other pharmacists that the space had been properly cleaned before touching anything : / (you work in a pharmacy, hello! put on some gloves). She continued to look disgusted and tried to pick up all things that belonged to my friend with the very tips of her nails to make sure she was very obviously not trying to touch anything near us. It was downright unprofessional for someone who works in the medical field. I work in a health center and have been in situations with HIV patients bleeding and I would NEVER make a patient feel the way this pharmacist/pharmacy made us feel. How I would've handled the situation? First off I would've LISTENED to the patient saying they don't feel ok. I would've offered a cup of water, not waited for the patient to ask. I would have offered for them to take a seat and help them from that seat and I would've asked if there was anything else I could do. If the patient throws up, I would calmly put on gloves and get a warm wet towel to help comfort the patient. I would never make any action that would show I'm disgusted or alarmed. Maybe I'm just lucky to work where I do and be trained by people who know how to treat patients. This was an eye opening experience of cvs' standards of care of their customers especially at the pharmacy. I will not be back, ever. read more

My wife just called me practically in tears because of the rudeness of the check out boy. He was ringing up a return incorrectly and berated the kind gentleman making the return. My wife stepped in on the elderly mans behalf and demanded that a manager be called. My wife asked the clerk if he'd like to ring up the other customers while they waited for the manager. Clerk boy pretty much told her No, the line will wait right along with you'. The manager discovered the clerks error, finished the transaction and apologized for the inconvenience. Where is the courtesy? Where's the Christmas spirit? Respect? That employee needs to loosen his panties. read more

Early in the morning just before 8:00am on Saturday 4/26/2014, I decide that CVS Pharmacy which sells products for purchase would be a convenient quick stop for me,(usually it does not require a perfect world to expect that) I get my two items and proceed to the counter. The older lady at the counter decides as soon as I approach the counter to present my selected items for purchase , she needs her manager, her manager comes toward her in from a far off using hand gestures implying "What is it?" She then says to me " He'll take you ". She was not going on break, she was still standing behind an unopened Register while her outstanding co worker Mark began and completed my transaction. He actually apologized for his co worker " dumping" me. I told him, "thank you Mark, you're going places". read more

Definitely head to the website before you arrive so you can hold your place in line (http://www.cvs.com/minuteclinic/) That way, you can just enter information in the kiosk when you arrive and you're good to go. I didn't know this was an option, so my wait on a Wednesday morning was ~2 hours. However, you can set up notifications so that you receive a text 30min before your name is called. I took full advantage of this and headed to Starbucks a few doors down to kill some time. Diana, the Nurse Practitioner on duty, was AWESOME. Friendly, conversational and knew her stuff. She commented that she makes a point to spend quality time with each patient and she absolutely does! This was cheaper than a visit to a PCP and was about as legit. Diana tipped me off: they're planning on opening a Minute Clinic at the CVS at 2964 Broadway in Oakland as soon as the city approves it. read more

Stopped in here for a card, some flowers, and candy. They pretty much have it all here if out want to avoid long lines and filled parking lots at Walmart. They also have a pharmacy as well as a Minute Clinic. They have lots of flowers outside and a few inside at a decent price from $8-13. The store is very clean and organized. Parking lot is shared with other stores and there are some handicap parking spots right by the front door. There was no issue of parking on the trip I had. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I didn't see any staff members circulating the store to ask if anyone needed any help, but the gentleman at the cashier was friendly and professional. I have a CVS account connected to my phone number so I didn't have to provide them with anything else but my number in order to save some cash. This is an upscale Rite Aid and you should check it out. read more

Not sure what all the hate is for here. Sure, they don't have the friendliest/most professional workers here, and checking out is sometimes really slow, but there's plenty of perks to this place. The store is always clean. The pharmacy is usually done with your refill within 15 min. They're open 24 hours (except Pharmacy), so you can buy items you need any time - also they're usually well-stocked.. They have lots of sales (even though some of the items are more expensive than other places). Don't let the customer service turn you away from the convenience of this place :) read more

Tiny, but effective. If you have a coupon and a CVS card, you can actually get really good deals here. Their wine selection is pretty great, and you can't beat the cheap makeup. I was prescribed medication after an emergency room visit for atrial fibrillation. My wife went to this CVS to fill the prescription. They charged her $182 for a 30 day supply of Eliquis. She called me to inform me of the inflated price. The pharmacist advised her that it was the going price everywhere for this medication. She went ahead and paid it. I just ran out of my 30 day supply and had my cardiologist send a prescription to Costco. Costco charged me $143 for a 90 day supply of Eliquis. CVS charged me 3.8 times the price of Costco pharmacy. $47 at Costco versus 182 at CVS. I used to think it was the pharmaceutical industry ripping us off, coming to find out it's pharmacy's in this case CVS that's ripping us off. read more

The pharmacy at this CVS store at Countrywood Shopping CTR. is extremely unwilling to help patients get the medication they need. I believe their decisions they make seem to be very subjective. I have been trying to fill a prescription for my son, who has ADHD, for three weeks now. The main problem has been that the medication needed, apparently has a back order at the manufacturing level and will not be available for another month. The med is a controlled substance, so there are restrictions on how it can be dispensed and transferred. My son's doctor had written two meds on the same prescription and one of the two had been filled as soon as the prescription was dropped off at our local CVS. Meanwhile, the problems getting the other med were unfolding. Due to the back order issue, our local CVS offered to call this store to see if they had the medication in stock. Since they did, I went to our local pharmacy to pick up the original script so I could give it to this store. When I walked up to the drop off window at this store, the staff was busy helping other customers. The pharmacist was trying to ask me what I wanted, but she was across the room trying to have a conversation with me, which would have involved me almost yelling to do so and she wasn't coming over to help. I certainly didn't feel like having a "long distance" convo and felt this woman was being quite unprofessional. To put it simply, she was rude! Meanwhile, the pharmacy clerk came over to assist me. I explained I needed to get the prescription filled and that our local CVS had sent us over and that the med was being held for us. The clerk looked perplexed and was running back and forth from me to the pharmacist. At one point she said it would be a 30 minute wait and we said we'd wait, since this issue has been going on for three weeks. Again the clerk went to the pharmacist supposedly calling our local CVS. She came back and said that the pharmacist was refusing to fill the order. The reason had something to do with the fact the other med written on the prescription had already been filled and that they could not just fill the prescription for the other med only. She said something about the meds being a controlled substance which I already knew, but she wasn't capable of explaining any sensible reason for not filling the needed med. At that point having had enough of their attitude, I just walked off. I will stay away from this store at all costs from now on and warn others of the difficult pharmacist working the evening shift on Monday's. When I got home, I called our local CVS and spoke to our pharmacist. He said the WC store never called them to discuss the matter and he said he couldn't believe they were being so strict as to not filling the order. So whatever the legal reasons are that this store would not fill the order, they are certainly open to a varying level of enforcement, which involves helping customers out or basically telling them to go away. In this case, they don't need to tell me to go away, because I will stay as far away as possible. Basically this store has rude and inflexible staff! If you are having similar issues with this store, drive a few miles to the CVS at Ygnacio and Clayton Roads. While they aren't perfect, they will go out of their way to help their customers! If you have a problem, ask for the head pharmacist, Courtney. She works weekday mornings and has whipped this pharmacy into shape, since she arrived last year! Perhaps CVS will send her to the WC store to kick a- - too! They certainly need it! Hopefully our doctor will send a direct prescription to this store, so I can get the necessary med for my son and be done with this stupid games! read more

I use this CVS for everything EXCEPT the pharmacy, and from what I've read in the other reviews, that's for the best. When I DO shop here, it's usually to buy a seriously eclectic variety of items -- today I needed Motrin, a toilet plunger, children's toothbrushes, and a power strip. Last year I sent a care package every week to my close friend serving in Iraq, and I filled the boxes with snacks, toiletries, and other random items (like flip-flops or tiny desk fans), 90% of which I purchased here. The woman in line in front of me at 7 am this morning bought a package of Donettes and a 1.5l bottle of vodka -- Breakfast of Champions, baby! The customer service can be iffy for both speed and pleasantness of attitude, which unfortunately is to be expected, because I'm sure the pay isn't exactly stellar. An extra half star for being open 24/7, but that's not enough to nudge it into four-star territory. read more

Wow, now I feel kind of bad for originally thinking to give a bad review-- I won't because I have had more than 1 encounter at this store so I figure I should average them out. This morning I went in just to return a $5 hardware item and buy sparking cider for our potluck at work today. I walked around the juice/liquor/water section 3 times before I approached the cashier at the entrance. I gave up and asked while she processed my return. She said it should be there, otherwise we don't have it. I have worked at a CVS in the past for 4 years (as a pharmacy technician). From what I remember, if the customer can't find it, you either walk them over or call a floor employee for to help the customer over to that aisle. The cashier did not. I did overhear her say she was getting over a cough to another employee so I didn't say anything. She also could have called someone in the back (warehouse) to see if there were any that haven't been put on the floor. My previous encounter was much better and the 4 stars are actually for the pharmacy. It's been a while since I refilled a prescription and a lot has changed since I quit. The lead pharmacy tech helping me said it wasn't a problem transferring my (new) prescription over and let me know that I can be notified through a text message when my Rx was ready! That's just crazy to me. I went to work and got a text message a couple of hours later and was able to pick it up on the way home. Another reason why I'm only giving 4 stars is because the intern who rung me (even though my Rx was covered at $0.00) out did not ask me for my ExtraCare card (or if I wanted to speak to the pharmacist). I wasn't gonna ask him to refund/void then ring it up again with my EC card phone number. Yea, I'm being a beezy but only because I know what the "CVS way" is and the CA regulations working in the pharmacy. This 4-star rating is also legit because it's on the way to work (and home), has a BofA ATM right outside and is next to a Starbucks and Safeway (where I actually got the sparkling cider). read more

The pharmacist working on the evening of 05/24/22 is an absolute passive aggressive bitch. I went to check out an OTC medication in the pharmacy for a few reasons. The line in the front of the store was long and the self check outs were closed. There was no line at the pharmacy and I noticed it was all females working because what I was purchasing was sensitive. Wow did the pharmacy sure do a good job to make me feel comfortable!!!!!!! First they made me wait with NO ONE in front of me except a lady that was sitting in a chair. The pharmacist then came to help me but scolded me about checking out there because I didn't have a prescription. Mind you, this was 9:15 pm. The pharmacy is dead and I'm a MONTHLY REGULAR customer at that pharmacy. She ran away from the computer without handing me the receipt, I was left to grab it out of the printer myself. After her scolding me, this was obvious passive-aggressive behavior. She then REFUSED to give me a managers name. I asked twice and she refused. She claimed she did nothing wrong when I confronted her about her really bad customer service. I've always told everyone I love CVS but this visit has changed my mind and pharmacy provider. This store gets 3 star automatically for being open 24 hours. That is something I can really appreciate, because there just are not too many place you can go any time you like. I went here last night around mid night. I had gotten off of work a couple hours before, and me and some friends of mine were driving around looking for something to do. I drove us to this store, knowing it would be open and it would provide us with at least 5 minutes of entertainment. When I walked in the store, all the employees at the front register looked at me with very confused expressions. This confused me until I realized that I was still wearing my CVS uniform, and their expressions said "Who the fuck is this guy? He better not be a new hire." I was a little embarrassed when they found out that I got off work 2 hours ago and I was still wearing my CVS shirt... on a Saturday night. The layout of this store is really odd. So many aisles perpendicular to each other, it gets very confusing. Luckily I was in and out of here in about 3 minutes last night, only buying a bag of sour jelly bellies. I only had to with the cashier asking me an unusually high number of questions about my store. *Quick final note: my friend once tried to buy beer here and the cashier did not believe that his ID was real, even though it was, and refused to sell him alcohol. I just visited 2 CVS locations - this one, and the one on South California, in Walnut Creek. Before entering the first store, I loaded my ExtraRewards to my card online. I made my purchase, and was confused as to why my extrarewards werent processed on the transaction, but didn't say anything. They printed out on my receipt, so I stopped at this location to return an item from my purchase and repurchase it using my ExtraRewards. A woman named Jeanette was at the register I went to. I politely explained the situation, and she immediately rolled her eyes and told me extrarewards can't be loaded to the card, they only print out. I explained again that I did it on the website prior to walking in, and she folded her entire body over in an extremely dramatic fashion before yanking my receipt up from the counter (seriously, she crumpled it because she grabbed so fast) and telling me "sometimes they don't go through because of phones or some shit." She then slapped the counter where the coupon policies were and said something to the effect of "thats why we have policies." She was extremely hostile and rude until she had to call a manager, Ashley, over to assist her with the transaction. Her demeanor and tone immediately changed when Ashley walked over, which leads me to believe Jeanette feels she can be rude to whomever she wishes so long as a manager isn't next to her, and also makes me question her overall comprehension of how to do her job. I understand that there are policies surrounding coupons, returns, etc - I, too, work in retail - but there was zero reason to chastise or treat me the way Jeanette did. I did nothing wrong, I was polite (because, again, I work in retail. I've seen my fair share of awful customers). I was even going to purchase a candy bar (gotta satisfy my inner sugar-fiend ), but was so upset about how I was spoken to that I tossed it back down to the box it came from. I've never been treated that way, in any CVS; I've never even received anything close to that kind of disrespect at any other retailer. Jeanette was easily in her 60's-70's, but that's no excuse for her dramatic and two-faced behavior. It was a $5 coupon, it's not that serious - and it really shouldn't have pissed me off to the point that I both emailed cvs AND left this yelp review - AND didn't get my damn candy! You're a grown-ass woman twice over, Jeanette, so maybe it's time to act like it. On a more positive note, Farida, at the S. Prices are higher here for identical items than at a Safeway or Target, but that's typical for most drugstores. I don't shop here often, but every time I've gone in, the employees have been friendly and helpful and the selection is pretty good. Today I was helped by the new Beauty manager/employee Ruth, who gave me a coupon to use on my purchase and some samples to boot. Thanks for the great service! read more

I've had a good experience every time I've used the Countrywood Plaza CVS pharmacy. Recently, I called this pharmacy about getting a flu shot. They answered the phone right away, said that they had it in stock, asked for my name and date of birth, and by the time I got there 10 minutes, the shot was waiting for me at the pick up counter. The pharmacist was very good, I barely felt the shot, and was out the door in under 10 minutes. Thanks! read more

Unfortunately I was limited to my pharmacy selections on Saturday night so I stumbled upon this pharmacy. The pharmacist on tonight did not help fill my husbands pain medication prescription. He has never had a history of opioid usage and had bone graft surgery yet she questioned every little thing Possible. She claimed the answering service wouldn't pick up and then when she reached them that the my husband was not "in the system" at that doctors office! I had just met with the doctor to get the script prior to going to this pharmacy. This was a delay in care and I will be reporting it. Luckily I was able to go to the S. California Blvd CVS and get the prescription filled in no time so that my husband would not be in pain. You should avoid this pharmacy for fear of being judged and delay in care. read more

I've witnessed some nasty customers treating the employees with rudeness I personally would not tolerate and totally understand if these employees are not always so chipper. I don't normally write reviews for bigger stores like this, but I had a wonderful experience today and I had to share. I had purchased a few travel items about 3 weeks ago and not surprisingly I lost the receipt. I walked into the store a couple days ago and realized I didn't have the receipt to return the items so I left. But today I thought I'd try again. The young gentleman at the register was so kind and didn't give me a hard time about not having my receipt. He even explained to me that even though I'm used my rewards number and my credit card that they don't have the ability to look back at past transactions, but he would gladly be able to give me store credit. It was just such a quick and virtually effortless experience. I'm only bummed that this young man who helped me wasn't wearing a name tag so I can't shout him and out give him the props he deserves. But he was young, blonde haired, tall man and he is so sweet!! read more

I've come in here a lot, primarily because they're my pharmacy of choice seeing as I live right around the corner... The service at the pharmacy is hit or miss... I've had some very kind pharmacists and I've had people who clearly would rather be conversing with a cockroach. Still, when all is said and done, it's the drugs that keep me coming back. read more

People who work there are not very friendly and never smile. Pricing and availability of things I buy on a regular basis are so overpriced at CVS. I have started going to Target in Walnut Creek, as I tallied up the same items in one shopping trip from Target and then priced each item at CVS, and I SAVED $30.42 by going to Target! CVS is a RIP OFF for the same items. Everything is at least $2.00-$3.00 higher priced at CVS. I only go to CVS now if I absolutely have to due to time constraints of my daily activities.
