Despite its $13-14 price tag and over-the-counter status, my insurance has always covered it, yet they insisted otherwise without offering real help. In contrast, when I contacted the Walgreens on E McDowell Rd, the difference was immediate. Although they were out of stock, they explained that their usual supplier no longer carries the product and offered to order it from a new provider. That level of effort and transparency was exactly what I needed. Because of this, I've transferred all my prescriptions to the E McDowell location. They even call to notify you if a prescription will be delayed--something the previous location never did. Their professionalism and customer care are a breath of fresh air. Month after month, without fail, I have the worst retail experience of my life at the pharmacy. I…read morewas honestly thankful to see dozens of one star reviews because I couldn't figure out for the life of me why they were treating me the way they were - it's just how they treat everyone.... Terrible customer service - they absolutely refuse to answer questions and assume everyone understands the rules of the pharmacy at the level they do, and good luck getting acknowledgement from anyone. On top of it all, they absolutely refuse to do their jobs. Every single month, I call the pharmacy for a refill, they say they don't have it and to call the doctor, I TEXT the doctor (have all of these on file) who says Walgreens has refills, then I call Walgreens and give them the details upon which they magically find it. I have gotten texts from WAG and showed up and been told they don't have any scripts ready, just to stand there and argue for 5 minutes just for them to.... MAGICALLY FIND IT AGAIN... At the end of the day this is one of the most important service industries... if you want to worry about your health, or your scripts not getting filled, or to deal with the rudest people on earth, you'll love this Walgreens pharmacy but if you want to deal with regular pharmacists and have a stress free pharmacy experience I would recommend you go to literally any other pharmacy on earth. I think it's also important that I say everyone who works inside the store are the nicest people on earth - like previous reviews have mentioned, it's just the folks who work in the pharmacy who are the most careless, rude folks in all of healthcare or service.

I never told her what manufacturer, the medication, literally nothing.. there's 3 medications... so I asked what is on back order. She said, "I don't know the pharmacist does the ordering." Okay... there's a disconnect here for sure. The pharmacist gets on the phone and said hi, didn't you speak with the tech? Yes, yes I did. She said only you could answer what is on back order. Unsure why that was his first question to me but furthered my frustration. It's like is this a twilight zone? you're working a pharmacy. Retail pills, really. Patients can request, any equivalent brand or generic they'd like unless otherwise specified by the provider. The pharmacist is Rodger, he was actually very helpful with everything by the end of the call. In fact, he was able to fill the scripts same day. Not sure what's wrong with the tech. Even my Dr. expressed challenges when needing to speak with the pharmacy. It's mainly just one rude tech and everyone is having the worst day ever lol. It's not my 3 or 4th negative experience. They're simply overworked, rude, and unwelcoming... the tech at least. It's really just one in particular. Anyways, there's another Walgreens just a mile away... try that one. Anywhere but here...

While I have CVS Pharmacy locations closer to where I live, I drive by this particular location…read moreevery so often on the way home from work. Every now and then, I will stop by here out of convenience on the way to or from work. I have interacted with the staff, purchased random items, and browsed the shelves over the years. I do appreciate the MinuteClinic at this store and have used it a few times in the past. Tonight, I stopped by to use a coupon, and while I found plenty of an item, the price on the shelf was incorrect as there was also a promotion going on, but as I have noticed previously, the shelves have been missing the promotion price on them. The store is sometimes a bit messy and sometimes very clean. It really depends on the day I stop by. There are seasonal items a few rows in from the entrance though sometimes they extend further to the left side of the store (further away from the entrance). While staffing seems to be quite minimal at this store (or so it seems), the staff have been helpful when I have asked for assistance. If there is someone near the front of the store, they have often said hello when I have entered the store. Sometimes they are stocking items on the aisles until someone is ready to check out. Sometimes there is a wait for someone to come and assist at checkout if you aren't using the self-checkout machines. The staff have always been knowledgeable based on items in stock. I have had issues using some of the coupons before, but it really depends on the cashier. I encourage everyone to sign up for ExtraCare, which is a free membership and includes sales prices, deals for you, 2% back in ExtraBucks rewards, a $3 birthday reward, and up to $50 in ExtraBucks rewards at the pharmacy. Then, for $60 per year ($5 per month), you can purchase membership in the ExtraCare+ program, which includes $10 in ExtraBucks rewards per month, free same-day delivery, free shipping, free same-day Rx delivery, 20% off CVS Health brand products, and 24/7 pharmacist help line. Occasionally, there is a $48 discounted annual rate for ExtraCare+ or another promotion. I have heavily used the ExtraCare+ program over the past many years. Also, while the Black Friday CVS deals were incredible a number of years ago, now you can only get good deals but not incredible deals with free items. While I'm a huge fan of CVS in general and the ExtraCare+ program, the stores are hit or miss. I will gladly still come back to this store as need be in the future as I hope that CVS provides the store with more resources to get more staff members.

Tonight, I had the misfortune of experiencing the impotent manager KADY proudly display her lack of problem solving skills, critical thinking and emotional intelligence, all of which are required for effective leadership. I don't expect a red carpet to be rolled out at CVS. But how about some basic professionalism? I'll even settle for the bare bones minimum.
