I had a frustrating experience with the Walgreens I originally used. The staff consistently seemed unwilling to assist, especially when I called about a specific face wash that I know is covered by my insurance. Despite its $13-14 price tag and over-the-counter status, my insurance has always covered it, yet they insisted otherwise without offering real help. In contrast, when I contacted the Walgreens on E McDowell Rd, the difference was immediate. Although they were out of stock, they explained that their usual supplier no longer carries the product and offered to order it from a new provider. That level of effort and transparency was exactly what I needed. Because of this, I've transferred all my prescriptions to the E McDowell location. They even call to notify you if a prescription will be delayed--something the previous location never did. Their professionalism and customer care are a breath of fresh air. This pharmacy is so unprofessional. The technicians in the Pharmacy are rude and unhelpful. I try to resist sending any of my prescriptions to them. Many times they are delayed and I am told they do not have the medication. I was just told I can not get an antibiotic the same day. When I tried to understand their system by questioning the technician, she repleyed in short answers with a very defensive tone. I can understand delays but Im not willing to put up with delays and a rude staff. Walgreens needs to help out their Pharmacists with better support staff. read more

The pharmacy here is a joke. I am working at a local healthcare facility around the area. I was trying to reach a pharmacist via phone regarding my patient. This location kept me on hold but then resorted to hanging up on me. When they did answer, they were unprofessional and invasive. I attempted to talk to a supervisor and he was very dismissive. This pharmacy is the best in Scottsdale. My extended family and I have been coming here for years. Best, knowledgeable, available pharmacists around. When my insurance changed and I had to go to a different pharmacy for a few years, I was really disappointed and realized even more so how great Brandon and Hadley and the others at this location are. If people are complaining it is because they are complainers. Every so often there is a clerk that is a bit clueless or new, but that is the same thing that happens at Doctors offices. You get a great doctor, but front staff is inexperienced or vice versa. That is life everywhere. read more

This Walgreens gets a zero. I used the app to refill a prescription (it has 8 refills on it). I checked on the day of pick up and, poof, he refill request was gone! I requested the refill again. I called the next day and the automated operator said "there are no refills under your phone number". I spoke to the pharmacist and she said the refill was not covered under insurance. So, they cancelled it. The pharmasist says I have to come in and personally order the refill and tell the phamacist that I am going to pay for it. This makes the app useless. If Walgreens considered customer service important, they would have contacted me. I have had this prescription for 3 years and this has never happened. I have not used this Walgreens location though. Perhaps it is simply a problem with this location and the management priorities. I am now without medication for 5 days. read more

yea this Walgreens sucks, came in and I just needed a quick pair of eyelashes because I'm going to a event tonight , thinking it will be less than a 5 minute ordeal. All the eyelashes are locked up so I went up to the cashier and asked him if he could call someone over(mind you he was doing absolutely nothing, there was nobody in line) he said " yea I'll page someone" his overall demeanor was just careless, didn't seem like he wanted to help me from the start, I go back over to the eyelashes and wait there for about 5 minutes, I go back up and ask if he called someone , he shrugged his shoulders and said " yea I did" I'm like " ok can you confirm that they are coming because no one is " he rolled his eyes and I go back again, wait for another 5 minutes , still NOTHING. I see two ladies behind a register doing some stocking , I'm sitting there staring at them, finally I go " can somebody please help me ?! I have to get somewhere " finally the lady comes and quickly got me my lashes, took less than 10 seconds The fact this was a 15 minute ordeal is absolutely ridiculous, the customer service was super disappointing. When checking out obviously I'm upset, no apologies made for the wait or miscommunication, than he starts tapping his fingers to a beat on the desk while I'm checking out, made matters so much more annoying. If you miserable at your job, perhaps get a new one if you aren't going to be kind or provide good customer service. read more

I came in to pick up a photo order for my mama and upon entry was thrilled to see all of the signage requiring masks, etc. However, when I was inside picking up the photos, I saw multiple customers without masks and they didn't seem to enforce what the front door was saying. :( This definitely bummed me out! Especially because I had my 18 month old with me and he can't wear a mask. As for the photo pickup experience, it was easy and the gal was friendly. I rang the bell, she was there within 30 seconds, and I was out in a flash. The store itself was pretty crowded around 4 PM so I was bummed to see people not in masks. Staff were extremely rude and unfriendly. I went in for eye drops then asked where the bathroom is. She said in the back so went to the back. You have to push a bathroom for a worker to come unlock the bathroom. The worker that came seemed pissed that he had to come unlock the bathroom. I said hi and he ignored me. The bathroom had no toilet paper and no hand towels. Very disappointing. Lucky i only had to go pee but still had to shake my pee off. Walking out, i noticed the shelves were half stocked. This Walgreens can be very shady about adderoll predictions. There's a lady who will tell you they have none they have been on back order for months. Tells you they haven't had any for months and to go somewhere else essentially. This is a lie, I pick it up every month but I sometimes need to wait like a week. This pharmacy is an absolute nightmare to work with. I was without my medication for almost a week because I was out of town and needed the Pharmacist to speak with me / my doctor in regards to getting my medication transferred and fixing some information on my account so we can do so. Every single time my doctor and I attempted to call them, we would be on hold for over an hour. Our calls were BOTH dropped multiple times after holding for so long, thus making us have to call back AGAIN and lose our place in the queue over and over again. This went on for FOUR DAYS. Keep in mind, I was out of town so I was not able to just walk in. Neither my doctor nor I have the time to sit on hold for more than an hour just to attempt to speak with someone and risk getting our calls dropped each time. When dealing with them on the phone they are rude, very short, and made it seem as though I was the one inconveniencing them. They will put you on hold without any warning and make you wait another 15 minutes while they attempt to get questions answered, and when they finally do get back on the line you're met with more attitude and a blunt response. My issues were not resolved over the phone, so I waited until I was back in town to attempt to resolve this in person. When I went to pick up my prescription, while in the drive thru, I had to wait another 30 minutes while they attempted to upload my insurance information which they should have already had on file since I have been using Walgreens for a while now. The woman was extremely rude, and when asked why my medication cost was so high compared to CVS, and why they were experiencing so many complications, she told me to "just go pick it up from CVS then". I did exactly that, and had zero issues at CVS. Never again will I deal with this pharmacy. read more

When they say your prescriptions will be ready at such and such a time, this is where they are iffy. their automated telephone recordings are in need of a severe up grading to 2023 recordings. Dropped a prescription off several hours before close with the promise of a text or call being sent to alert me the prescription was ready. Never received either, so we went to check if it was ready around roughly 9:30. The pharmacy proceeded to tell me that my prescription was invalid. I confirmed with the emergency room that this was not the case, and even had the provider call them. They basically told me they were closed, that I was wrong and to leave. Despite having several hours to address the situation or at the very least contact me. Never will get my business again and should get their pharmacy in line considering they are located less than a mile from an emergency room. read more

This Walgreens pharmacy is amazing. Simon always makes sure your prescriptions are correct and filled properly. If there's an issue they contact the physician directly to clarify and they contact you to let you know if there's going to be a delay. They understand the importance of maintenance medications and try to make sure reoccurring customers medications are always in stock. My insurance unfortunately doesn't cover this pharmacy anymore and I had to switch to CVS, which has been an absolute nightmare ever since. Worst pharmacy ever. They send me texts every month saying my insurance is not accepted. It's because they have both my old and new insurance on file after I've repeatedly asked them to delete my old insurance. The pharmacy is supposed to be open until 11:00PM. Because I work nights, sometimes I won't get there until almost 10:00PM and it is already closed. You cannot get through on the telephone. Many times a recording will tell me that I'm the next caller. One time I left my phone on speaker for an hour and they never answered my call. When I went in to talk to them I noticed that they just let the phone ring. It is dirty and the staff is not helpful. read more

We need soap or over-the-counter drugs, go to Walgreen's. The latter was the reason for our visit tonight. I'm not the sick one, Jared is... but being the good wife that I am, I went with him to the store. He didn't trust my judgement on which Sudafed or Tylenol to purchase, so we waited in line and asked Kelly the pharmacist for her opinion. We had to wait a bit, but it was worth it. She recommended Walgreens brand Nyquil flu liquid medication and a Walgreens 12 hour daytime tablet too. The receipt from this visit came to $24.47 including the above meds, Kleenex, Angel Soft toilet paper (9 rolls on sale for $4), and a three-pack of paper towel. Not bad, right? Was up all night with some sort of tummy bug. Finally at 3am I couldn't stand it a second longer. Uhg! Try finding a place that sells Pepto, in Scottsdale, open past 10pm.. good luck. This is the largest Walgreens I have been to! It was like walking to an anchor store at a mall. They also have a nice liquor selection. The store is merchandised well, and has an upscale feel. Wow. Last night, I offer to leave my insurance card for the tech to run later..and I would just pick up my rx in the am before work. There were at least 5 cars behind me..and I had already been waiting at the window for at least 5 minutes for someone to finally help me (I pull up to the window and the guy says..."I'll be with you in a moment". A moment doesn't equate 5+ minutes.). I am told everything would be ready in the morning. I get here and the pharmacist is the one helping this am. I tell him my name and I am there to pick up meds. He grabs my bag..looks at the slip and sees my insurance card. My rx was never processed through my insurance last night. It took him all of 30 seconds to run it through and get the new slip. Unbelievable. All in all I like the location, I think some of the tech staff needs to get a clue. Either that or they need more techs working the late afternoon shift. Cause they were super busy...both inside and in the drive-thru. read more

I was a little surprised to see such terrible reviews for this and several other Walgreens locations in the area. The incidents behind many of these reviews most often depend on an individual staff member they've dealt with. Mine is no different, except that my experiences have been very positive! Anyone with medical problems is already very familiar with the endless frustration involved with getting expensive medications and treatments covered by medical insurance. I wanted to take a minute to publicly thank "Hadley", one of the pharmacists at this Walgreens location, for helping me avoid some of that stress these last few months especially, but for quite a while now. Chronic pain & sickness is difficult enough without having to worry about unnecessary "prior authorizations" or similar such nonsense these companies pull to avoid financial responsibility. When it comes to controlled medications, these issues are often exacerbated by inconsistent, discriminatory, and even dangerous practices deployed under the guise of battling the "opioid epidemic". I won't go down that road here, but I just wanted to add how grateful I am for Hadley & the rest of the team that's been so helpful lately. Their patience, competence, and willingness to help cut through a lot of these obstacles without losing sight of the ultimate goal - helping the patient feel better. Thank you! read more

Extremely long phone holds. Drive thru is often very slow. They don't clean up around the outside of the drive thru often enough either. I have had plenty of time to sit there and stare at the dirt and dust and debris. It seems to be all due to understaffing. The employees seem to be doing their best. This WALGREENS on Sctdale Rd /Osborn advertise on their phone recording the STORE is OPEN 24 HRS (Not the Phramacy). I arrive at 11:20pm on a Tues. the ENTIRE STORE was CLOSED, ALL LIGHTS INSIDE were OFF, DARK, 0 cars in pkg lot. I really needed an otc med! Of course NOTHING open after 10pm in this area! Convience stores they don't have otc medication like a pharmacy. Sm towns in the Midwest have 24 LG groc stores open, this area has 0!
