Today Saturday, I stopped by Sephoria to pick up one make up and I knew exactly where and what and I needed so I didn't need any help. Once I retrieved my makeup item I realized the line to the registers was very long do I looked for one of o Sephora employees so that I could pay with my credit card which I have done every visit prior to this visit. I was told by the employee that paying at the register was the only option. I was shocked since I saw what I would estimate 30 to 40 employees walking around the store of which many had nothing to do. Disappointed with the option to pay I returned the product to the shelf and which visit another location. What a disappointment. read more

Had a glamour makeup service here for our comedy show in the evening. This Sephora is located in the fashion square mall Scottsdale. My assigned makeup artist did a decent job but I had to give her instructions on how to do certain stuff a few times. Nobody can do makeup better than myself why we still pay other ppl do it?! LOL They weren't allowed to use my own makeup for liability reasons?! I can only use very few brands for allergy concerns. I always loved coming to this Sephora at Biltmore. But it feels like over the last year or so inventory is paired down, they never have what I'm looking for, and it's kind of a disorganized mess. Last time it took 15 minutes to get someone to help me get the perfume out I wanted to buy. Cons: they couldn't really help me with what I came in for. My BB cream has been discontinued and I was looking for a substitute. Unfortunately, their entire color match system was down. They tried to do it the old-fashioned way, but I wasn't happy with their selection. Also, I brought a sample of my EB cushion compact and the guy put his hands all over the cushion! There were a lot of product left and now I feel like I can't use it because the guy's hands have been in it. Yuck. Pros: I was helped the moment I walked through the door. Christopher helped me and he deserves a 5. He was courteous and helpful. I felt like he genuinely wanted to help me. I was transparent that I had facial treatment that left my face red and wanted to cover it. I hadn't wore make up in over 30 years and I appreciated his helpfulness and his patience. He is a wonderful person and I purchased everything without question he referred me to. On the other hand as me and my nearly 40 year old daughter walked in the ladies look unapproachable. I went right to one and said I'd like a man to help me. She asked why and i replied, less judgy. As we were working with Christopher another sales person approached my daughter aggressively asking her if she needed mascara and did you know it expired and really was pushy. That was exactly why I asked for a man. Two of the three times in the last few years when I've gone into Sephora, women were rude or looking me up and down and not very helpful. I was warmly welcomed by the beauty specialists and given assistance to find the Gucci foundation I've been hunting for. Tony was super helpful in finding it. I went on to find a new fragrance and Yahaira swooped in to save the day! She recommended Maison Margiela "Jazz Club" and Glossier which both smelled PHENOMENAL!! AJ is so wonderful. I highly recommend going to him for any service he offers (makeup, facial or eyebrow waxing). I went to him for my makeup and I couldn't be happier. We chatted about my skin type as well as my likes/dislikes when it comes to makeup. I showed him my dress I was wearing for the evening and he knew exactly what he was going to do. He listened to my needs so well and delivered perfectly. I shed a few tears when I had to take my makeup off for the evening because I have never had my makeup done so well. I felt so beautiful and it was all thanks to AJ. He's super knowledgeable about all things beauty and I really enjoyed picking his brain as well. He's a star and needs a raise! I just left this store and felt very dismissive by the clerk. I initially went in to buy a gift card for my daughter $60 the clerk initially looked at me as if I didn't belong. She than wanted a telephone number as I'm putting my number in she walks away from the cash register as if I wasn't even there. When she came back she had a look like you still here.When I told her I didn't like the way she looked at me and I decided not to purchase the item she looked like I offended her. I know I have written several reviews about customer service. It looks like some people have it and others don't. If your one of the ones who don't find another job where you don't have to deal with people. To make a long story short another associate assisted me with my purchase and I ended up spending $132. I was going to buy some mascara to travel with, but the line was so long and they were moving so slow that I just couldn't stand in that long line anymore. So much perfume being sprayed in the store that after a while you can't smell anymore perfume because if you do, you're not gonna be able to differentiate between the one you like in the one you don't like there's too many sense, but the make up artist not fabulous. The gentlemen who accompany their girlfriends or wives at Sephora are doing one or more of the following: (1) following their other halves around aimlessly, (2) looking at the merchandise pretending to know what they are, (3) upgrading their own skincare or fragrance regimens. I myself fall under the first category. I don't know a damn thing about cosmetics; my girlfriend does, of course, and I followed her thusly as she picked out her items. I quite like Sephora; it's a fascinating place. There seem to be professionals at the ready to do makeup, help select particular styles, or just make pleasant conversation. The products that adorn the shelves and walls all look nice, expensive, and... whatever else Sephora products are. My girlfriend was picking out some skincare products when a sales representative, Brandi, showed up to offer some help. She explained the active ingredients and instructions on how to use a plethora of items, sharing her personal recommendations -- which were echoed by another employee who happened to overhear the conversation. Brandi even let me sample a little moisturizer; she could clearly tell I didn't know what was happening, but the moisturizer was nice. Thanks to Brandi's suggestions, my girlfriend's shopping basket was complete with a lovely assortment of things I know nothing about, but I think they're good for the skin, or something to that effect. Checkout was a breeze, and the kindly representative at the door wished us a good day on our way out. Sephora -- the Apple Store of all things cosmetics. This location is one of my favorite Sephora's. I was out looking for makeup and hair products. You can always count of Sephora to have both excellent service and products that you can trust. I already knew what kind of makeup I was looking for, however, the hair products were a different story. I asked for help and got lead to Barbara who whipped up samples of hair products for me to try. She was helpful and explained how she also uses some of the products and her experiences with them. Everyone is different and has different needs, I love that Sephora allows customers to try before buying. If you don't like the product or if it doesn't work for you, you can also bring it back and exchange it for something that does work! read more

I've recently made a vow that I would invest in myself meaning using better quality makeup among other things because if you don't invest in yourself, then who will? I recently went through my collection and started purging anything that was old, lousy quality, and needing to be replaced. I have given this Sephora three times until I wrote a review just in case my string of bad experiences had just happened on a bad day(s). But after multiple tries, I realize that is not the fact(s). The sales associates are consistently rude. I understand that there are new rules due to COVID-19 but the first and second time I came and no one made me aware of this so I ended up getting passive aggressive remarks from sales associates for swatching lipstick on my HAND. If they were taking these very drastic measures, they should've explained that at the door as they greet every person in line and try to direct them to a brand. I returned an item today and the gal at the register paused when I asked for a refund instead of her suggested "exchange." She gave me an answer to the effect of "OK." But in a way to where she waited to say that as if she had to consider whether she should do it or not. I had my receipt, the original packaging, it was within 30 days and the product was shit! I shop local... I swear I do! But I also was recently allowed back into Scottsdale Fashion Square (after the flashmob a year ago), and I had a Sephora giftcard. So I admit, I did go to this big box store recently... Don't tell anyone, but I actually liked it. I don't wear a ton of makeup, but shopping at Sephora almost makes me want to wear more. There are so many fun colors, packages, products galore! I walked out with an eyeliner, a lipliner, and some Philosphy gift packs (I heart Philosophy). I definitely could have done more damage, but I went during the holiday craze and this place was a zoo! With good reason - Sephora offers something for everyone, from cute stocking stuffers to bigger ticket items like high end cosmetics, skincare, hairdryers, etc... There were plenty of helpful employees working and despite long lines at checkout, they went pretty quickly. Bottom line - I try to shop local whenever possible but every now and then I make an exception and hit up a chain... I have been here a handful of times and love the products. I intended to purchase a contour kit on my visit and was greeted by a friendly woman who matched me with a make up artist. When I told her I was looking for an affordable cream contour for my rich brown skin she completely ignored what I said and kept showing me products I told her I wasn't interested in and wasn't within my budget. I recently visited Sephora for their Perk Facial. Rachel was the Sephora associate to perform the facial on me and she was so helpful with explaining the entire process and helping me address some of my skincare concerns. The Perk is a pretty cool deal, it's complimentary with a $75 purchase and it's essentially cleaning out your pores with a suction cup tool and then putting a serum back into your skin with the same tool. If you plan on making a purchase at Sephora anyway, I recommend trying this out next time. Just yesterday I went to this Sephora in Fashion Square and the gal who helped me (didn't get her name) was really nice & knowledgeable (typical) & helped me try on & pick a color corrector & concealer. I was going to use them both tonight as I was going to an early Valentine dinner. However, when I opened up the color corrector, it looked as if it had been used for a while already. *oh ick!* needless to say, I was pretty disgusted, disappointed & did NOT use it. I went back to Sephora tonight to exchange it & Bri (cashier) at first, appeared to not believe me, but went & got me another one & when she came back with it, she was all cool & totally understanding. I was in the store for 35 minutes and never got greeted. Even once. But there were about 7 employees standing near by talking. I wanted to try on Fenty but I guess maybe I didn't fit the mold of their usual customer so I got overlooked. I literally got three different foundation colors and tried them on at the vanities on my own without one person asking me if I needed help. I love the Sephora's at home (Las Vegas) even though they are swamped I still get greeted and asked if I need help. I love the girls at my home store. I love the new Sephora location in the mall. It can get quite busy, but there are people around to help when you have questions or need a quick tutorial. I like all the different options and the ability to try out the makeup before you buy it. I also really like getting little samples of perfume so I can see how they wear on my skin for a full day before I buy a new fragrance. My favorite part of this location is their ability to fit you in for a small service (ex: eye makeup) or for a full makeover if you make a reservation for one. It's pretty amazing that you can get a full face done with a purchase of $50! read more
