We have been shopping this Walmart since it was built. This last year we have seen the strangest changes. Locking up nail files? You have to find a staff person to unlock the files so you can buy them? I have had my bags gone through several times as I leave the store to check against theft? Today the person at the door scanned my receipt, checked the cart, then scanned my case of soda. Then told me to keep it on its side so it was easy for them to check on the way out the door. I went through a full service checkout line and the cashier was able to scan the soda without issue. I am not sure what has happened to the neighborhood that we are in a full lockdown type store? I do know I will shop Fry's and Target moving forward. If the customers are stealing everything not locked down.... they will steal my purse. read more

i honestly had so much trouble finding everything i needed but they ended up having everything so it was still a success!

I love our Cave Creek Walmart for so many reasons! First, it has the world's best manager named XIAOHUA!! I always see her running around taking care of everyone! I had the pleasure of meeting her when i went up to customer service. We had an issue with a Kodak camera we purchased just a few months back. She was so kind and helpful. I hoped Walmart would take it back and not make us send it back to Kodak. It was under warranty and she was happy to either give our money back or exchange. We requested an exchange bc we loved the camera. XIAOHUA has outstanding customer service!! She made sure that we were happy and satisfied. She truly cares about her customers. She seems to really love her job as she always has a huge smile on her face while talking to customers and her staff! This store is always so clean, well stocked and has the happiest employees. It is probably because they love working for XIAOHUA! This location also has the best pharmacist ERIC MCKELVEY!! He is always so knowledgeable and helpful. On one occasion we picked up an order and didn't realize it had not been ran through insurance. He recognized this and called to refund the difference!! Wow! Thank you beyond words to both XIAOHUA and ERIC for taking care of us and for being extraordinary in your field! You deserve one million stars! read more

This is seriously the best Walmart on the planet. I have been shopping at this location in Cave Creek since they opened, and every single time has been a positive experience. It is very clean, wide aisles, friendly employees, pretty well stocked, clean restrooms and they have plenty of self check outs and cashiers. They also have a huge parking lot in a beautiful setting. The pharmacy has always treated my parents with kindness, respect and timely service. I love that they have a garden center, too. I love this particular Walmart so much compared to the ones off of Raintree and Tatum & Bell. Walmart Cave Creek is a great store! I love shopping here! read more

The products are first class quality and the prices are exceptional. I found a fantastic rotisserie chicken for less than six dollars. A delicious chicken wrap for five bucks. 11/08/2023 - the new floor plan and revamp is soooo nice! I love the set up and all the new products and offerings. Walmart has such an awesome selections with very affordable prices. I love that there is a variety of items in each category at different price points. I hope that the people who visit this Walmart keep it nice and clean and safe for everyone. Smaller Wal-Mart compared to most. Ok service. Decent level of cleanliness, but I have been here when it could be better. They are a little aggressive about looking at receipts on the way out. I heard one woman who was checking receipts by the exit in the garden area say it was because of all the shoplifters. Not a great endorsement for your store. read more

Shopped here for a cooler and propane for our upcoming trip. They had everything and more. Ended up doing a full shop for the trip. Canned goods and lots of small items for our recipes. So nice to get it all done in one place and save time. Friendly staff in the garden area pointed out where the charcoal was...that I had just walked past. Wow. Great experience here. read more

I was really unhappy with the customer service today. I bought a rolling cooler that I used twice and it broke. I took it back to see if I could exchange it or get a store credit. When I didn't have the receipt the woman asked what day it was purchased. Upon doing some research I found the day that was past the 90 day return policy. Which ok, I get. I understand why there are polices but I was so disappointed in the attitude and lack of friendliness with the two women that "helped me," one which was a manager. There was no "sorry" just a rude "what's wrong with it?" (The handle wouldn't go down the the top comes off) Upon reading further reviews of this store, this seems to be an ongoing problem with a few of the ladies who work in customer service... just be friendly and nice! Is that so hard?? I also wish I would've gone to Frys or Albertsons as much of the produce was gone... restock your shelves on busy days! read more

I am always amazed that people are quick to criticize for a variety of reasons. I moved to this area in August 2015 from a place that was monopolized by Walmart's. I travel often for my profession in the Retail industry and part of my job is understanding retail and observing market trends. I often shop this Walmart BECAUSE the staff is accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. I read the criticisms and found zero to be creditable for this particular Walmart. I shop at a variety of times. High traffic/ volume and late at night. This review is for Grocery Curbside Pickup, which was rolled out a few months ago at this store BEFORE the corona virus problem. They set up approx. 24 parking spaces for this service, so you would have thought they thought this out. In addition, I tried this service April 1, 2020, which is well after the coronavirus started, and hopefully things would be smoothly by now. Nope. So ordered about $100 in groceries on the web site. It went smoothly, but many products were missing, which is not their fault. I couldn't get a pickup slot the same day, but rather it was the next day 5-6pm. OK that will work. You can even add to your order up to about 4 hours before. So you wait for an "email" telling you to go to Walmart to pickup your order. 6pm came and went and no email. The app. did say it was "delayed" and not much more. So my first complaint is status updates are VERY limited. So about 7:40pm I get a test message saying my order was ready. No email, and the app. still was saying "delayed." OK I drive there and park in a space. NOTHING tells me which space. The mobile app. still says "delayed" so I'm not positive if it is ready or not. When I arrive I call the phone number on the signs, and eventually I tell them my name and space number. Eventually I get my groceries, or at least 75% of them. So I want to say, the Walmart employees are working their tail off here, so I can't give higher regards here. BUT, the Walmart app., website, and infrastructure is a MESS. Whomever made this software for you, you have to get it fixed. Second, there are 24 parking spots, but when I picked up my groceries, 3 or 4 other people were there, and which just these people, its clear Walmart people are VERY overloaded. My order was almost 2 hours late so 24 parking slots? Yeah right. Figure this thing out, because its not there yet. Yes, this is trying times, but you planned for this somewhat, didn't you? It took Walmart 6 months to build this curbside pickup area, didn't actually test it out? Now that we have to use it, we know it doesn't work. Which is sad. read more

My first official foray into Walmart (and probably my last) My wife Jane and I head there this AM....have approx 30 items when we approach the check stand area. Only check stand we see open has cashier beginning to check out overflowing cart with another customer with full cart waiting. Look around and see 3 more check stands with lights on and cashiers. Head on over when I notice that all 3 are express lanes and say 20 items are less. Cashiers standing there talking to each other as I stroll up....conversation goes something like this me: hi cashier: hi me: are all 3 of you express lanes? cashier: yes me: 4 check stands open and 3 are express with no customers and the only other open one has large orders with a line? cashier: yes me to Jane: I guess we have to wait in line cashier: goes back to personal conversation with the other 2 cashiers Semi-happy ending: after a couple of minutes withing in line, the nice manager lady walks by, sees the line and goes to next check stand over, counts it in and calls us over.. Lately, when we shopped there, we noticed a lot of our favorite items were NOT being stocked. We asked who does the ordering and we were told the managers do. I asked what's the problem? Is this store closing? Then just this early morning, we stopped by to get some groceries and lo and behold, there's a sign in the window saying they close from 1:00 am to 6 am nightly. This Walmart is my go to location. I find this location has some of the nicest employees and they are always helpful and appear to be happy! I also feel like the shelves are always stocked (not now though...THANK YOU CORONA VIRUS) ugh... that's a review for another day. Walmart has the best meat selection, the steaks are always fresh and red! I have never had a bad experience buying meat here and I will usually only by my meat from here. I will say though, the produce is another story. I am not a fan of buying my produce here. This is also the reason for the 3 stars. They have a large variety of produce which is nice, however, it never looks fresh and I find if I do give in and by produce here it does not last longer than a day. It doesn't matter if it's lettuce, potatoes, onions or avocados, no luck. The prepackaged bagged salads are the worst. Once you open it, you need to consume the entire bad in one sitting or it's all brown and wilted the next day. Ain't nobody got time for wilted/brown salad. As I said above there are plenty of other reasons to come to this Walmart. The employees are top notch (Cowboy Man, with the handlebar mustache, who runs the register is awesome! The Short gal, who is typically at the Self Check out is also super friendly and always asks how your day is and genuinely seems to care. I apologize I don't know names but they are all awesome)! Shopped here for several years and usually had a decent experience until today, got the rude nasty condicending treatment from two different women working in the store, one appeared to be a manager of some level. Nasty rude talked down to with no interest in helping me as a customer. I thought their other store on Northsite had the highest kevel of incompetent rude employees until today. Both women in different departments at the carefree store were nasty and rude! Thats what I get for attempting yo buy things from them. BTW, they didnt have 4 of the items I went there to buy that are usually typical items in stock. I am a retired successful business man and I hate when walmart employees talk down to me like I no one and not worth there respect or common courtesy. Let me preface by saying, as someone who works at a store, I never thought I would be the one writing a bad review and complaining on Yelp, but for this I could not say nothing. On two separate occasions I have bought a Prime New York Strip Steak. Both times when I got home and opened the steaks up, there were 2 browning spots, and if you smell the spots, they have a dairy-like, spoiled smell, so I had to toss the steaks both times. Unfortunately I live 45 minutes from this location, but it is close to work so I stop there when I get off, so I could not drive back to get a refund or switch them. Now I know what you're thinking: "why would you buy them if you saw the brown spots?" Well funny enough (not really funny though) they COVER UP THE BROWN SPOTS WITH THE STICKERS ON THE PACKAGING. This is absolutely unacceptable, and although I don't ever want anyone to lose their job, especially in a pandemic, whoever is responsible for ordering, packaging, and stocking the meat should be reprimanded however management seems fit. This is the kind of product you want to present to your customers? This is very irresponsible, especially for food safety. read more
