I literally have only used this review system 3 times. You have to really really piss me off to put a complaint. CVSs new "AI" voice prompt (and removed touch tone phone) is so amazingly bad and slow. It cannot understand basic fluent English from the very city the person is from. And you cannot even give it voice commands until the very slow AI finishes speaking. On top of that it is trying to force me to get yet another app for my data for yet again and another stupid login. I live very close to this pharmacy and I haven't convinced myself to go elsewhere. Through the years they have had some excellent managers. MarJan was one. Anthony was also very good, but there only for a few months. And there was an excellent manager about 5 years ago who went on maternity. Someone said they are understaffed. That would make any pharmacy less than stellar. It's really in corporate for paying a small group when the pharmacy needs one or two more people, at least. Something happened today that bothered me. I went to pickup a 20 mg drug I have taken for several years. The manager handed me a 10 mg version , I told her the order should be 20 mg. She insisted was correct. Later I went back and a very nice man saw there was an order for 10 and an order for 20. Mistakes happen when a pharmacy is understaffed and dealing with intense pressure. read more

An old and no Windows store with narrow aisles; dark underground parking lot a bit eerie if you're alone... that said, I had good service for my vaccination appointment and was able to find and buy the few items I need quickly. I came here to pick up medication. They had it, they gave it to me, and that was pretty much what I expected them to do. I see a lot of reviews for this location that are less than stellar, and I think they are being unfair and are possibly expecting too much from a CVS pharmacy. Do they have the best customer service? No, not buy a longshot, but that's why people should go to Nordstrom if that is what they are looking for. If, however, you are just looking to buy some crappy Russell Stover candy to give someone that you don't really care that much about, or you need to pick up greeting cards, Epson salt, a blood pressure meter, a thermometer, or just some medication because you have the sniffles or allergies... CVS provides passport-photo service ( they take passport photos). CVS staff who did it for me was courteous and pleasant. So this made it a less uncomfortable endeavor (that is, having one's picture taken). However the lighting was bad, so you will end up with a bad picture. But the result I'm sure is acceptable. Absolutely every time I come here to get my medicine I am treated like a piece of crap. Elias is the coldest. Everyone here is so rude and dismissive and bitter. I am new to the pharmacy life as I have just now had my first complications with my health at 47. I have bad timing and every time I show up they're closed. Sunday afternoon? Closed. During my work break during the week? Closed. It's extremely frustrating to sit in Wilshire Blvd traffic at rush hour, so I rarely go then. I get constant texts about how I have to pick up my prescription. But every time I can go they're closed. It's like living in Spain. CVS should just completely embrace the unavailability and open from 10 to 2, and then open again at 5pm and close at 8pm. The 30 minute lunch break they give their employees is kind of useless. I hear people behind the shutters working and filling orders. Why don't they just have someone man the pickups during that 30 minutes also? Weird. Oh well. I recently moved to the Santa Monica area and have tried several CVS in the area. Long lines and rude service at all except this CVS. My first experience was at the Santa Monica Blvd. CVS. What horrible experience. Long lines and rude customer service. I have never had more than one customer in front of me here in line. they sell fraudulent apple gift cards, are fully aware of this, and do nothing about it. i've bought three gift cards from them, and not a single one worked without contacting apple support. along with that, a majority of their gift cards are opened, fucked up, or tampered with in one way or another. after contacting apple, they've said that they get a lot of calls due to that specific CVS, which is crazy to me. secondly, staff is crazy unhelpful, I wanted to reprint a receipt from an hour previous, and they said no, and are making me go through corporate. it seems like they try to avoid accountability and responsibility by telling people they can't do anything and to call corporate, knowing that most people don't have the time for that. i'd recommend literally anywhere over here, even a 7-Eleven, that's how scuffed it is. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. I came in to drop off prescription script for my dog since she suffered extreme anxiety from fireworks. I came in on Xmas eve. No line at the pharmacy but the pharmacist did not want to work so she told me they can't take paper script since the new law or something. And I came here to pick up the drug same way a year ago. I went home and asked my vet. Vet said she never heard of it and asked me to try another pharmacy. I went to the one on 26th street and was able to get my dog the drugs. Bottom line is pharmacist here doesn't want to work even thought it's during hour. CVS Pharmacy has ruined many of my days but this location should not be grouped with the others. I have had the BEST interactions with the pharmacy staff here. If you call they answer quickly (unlike other locations where an hour wait on hold is common place). The lines progress quickly. I just got off the phone with someone who was not only kind but helped me in an efficient manner. I understand that it must be stressful to work in a pharmacy, let alone in the city, but I don't feel like that's an excuse to provide poor service. I went to drop off my prescription recently and said I would wait for it. I was told 10 minutes. I wandered around the store for 45 solid minutes and was never called. I went back up to the window and my prescription was ready -- no one had called me. No one apologized either when I said I had been waiting. Maybe it was a mistake, or maybe there's no intercom, but regardless, they need to change. Also there is no waiting area or place to sit in the pharmacy -- what are the elderly or disabled supposed to do? I emailed corporate. I hope this pharmacy changes its ways. read more

I never get out of here in under 20 min even for a refill that's supposed to be ready. There is another CVS nearby that always gets it right. I'm not sure why there is a difference. Deodorant failed me or did I just forget to use it at 5:00AM that morning? Quite possibly the later if the caffeine hadn't kicked in. Anyway, I detoured from my BevMo run to focus on not offending my next client. I've never seen so many brands, scents, of body odor care in my life, like an entire aisle and that was just the girlie stuff. Now I'm allergic to most fragrance so I had to uncap and sniff a few before I found the closest to "unscented" available. Seems no one makes "unscented" anymore. Although, security cameras no doubt surveilled this activity, I wasn't stopped. Selection made, I was in and out to the parking lot to discretely apply product lickety-split, then shop at BevMo. The best reason to come here is because it's right next to the temple, errr BevMo. In fact this store was sliced in two and the other half is now BevMo. I come here for two reasons, to get my perscription refiled and to price compare/catch a sale. BevMo has the great selection but is pretty skimpy on sales. CVS has only a very limited selection but you can catch some good stuff on sale. The front doors to the two places are right next to each other so it's easy to make comparisons on libations. As to the rest of the store it's on the small side for a CVS; it was cut in two after all. The staff is pretty friendly at the parmacy counter and even the checkers are nice. But other than the BevMo comparison you would only come here if you live really close by; there seems to be a CVS on almost every corner these days and most seem to be a bit bigger than this one. Great underground parking with a choice of stairs or an elevator to the front door. Parking is so important in WLA/Santa Monica. read more

Compared to other convenience stores in this area, I think this one is pretty good. There is an enclosed parking lot downstairs where you can always get a spot, plus a few spots out front. It's got a BevMo right across the hall as well so you can kill two birds with one stone. The stock is pretty typical of any Walgreens/CVS/RiteAid, and the staff is actually really friendly and nice (which is NOT typical of stores in this area...ie-Ralphs/Pavilions.) It's really convenient for me, because in this area, for a quick stop the choices are Ralph's (parking lot from hell and employees who hate their jobs), or the other CVS up the road with another difficult parking lot. The CVS is really convenient compared to the other options. Note: They will charge you for a bag if you want one and don't bring one or your own, or you don't have to take your things in a bag if you don't want (as with anywhere else in SM right now, but I personally tend to forget which places give bags for free and which charge.) Update: Lately they are really unorganized. Seems like they are always having system issues, or not enough staff causing loooong lines. The cashiers don't bother to maintain a uniform line in one direction so I see people getting cut in front of and taking advantage of a lot (not me! I'll call you out cutters!) I am willing to go the extra distance to shop elsewhere now that it's become difficult to get in and out of here. read more

CVS sent out a coupon to be downloaded on our card or printed to be redeemed in the store. CVS soft ware would not let us down load or print after we sent the coupon to our card. We called the store and talked to mgrs. Bonnie and Lupe . They gave us an 800 number to call but they were closed and will not open until Monday and the coupon will be out of date on Monday. My negative review is only for the pharmacy. The pharmacists are overworked and rude. There is one helpful and courteous pharmacist named Hannah. Chris is rude and snarky. I called on the phone to inquire about a prescription and when describing it she said 'that isn't the name of the rx'. I repeated yes I spelled it out for you and repeated the rx name. She is condescending and rude and a bit incompetent. My fruit loop fairy queen MD has terrible penmanship like most doctors and so the pharmacists could not dispense the prescription. Fair enough. However the third rx also had no description or dosage rendering them unable to dispense that as well yet they only asked for clarification for the first prescription. What does this do for me? Nothing but waste my time. Being met with a snippy attitude is also underwhelming. Do your f-cking job and look at the whole prescription. This location is sad and pathetic, the only plus is that there is a BevMo next door. I should have gone to the 24 hr CVS in Santa Monica. Sigh. read more
