Five stars to the cashiers. They work hard under stress. There was a line and the cashiers were working 2 registers at the same time, allowing the line to move more swiftly. However, I am only giving this CVS 3 stars because of the lack of staff on the floor to help open up the locked cases, which is 90% of this store. I understand why the merchandise must be locked up due to the past several years of theft. When a staff member does show up to unlock the case, they are always kind and apologize for the wait. CVS should hire more staff to help the customers. 5 stars to the Pharmacy Department for being open 24 hours. When my husband needed meds after 10pm, I was able pick up the meds, late at night! Still in disbelief how this went but I was leaving the ER at 230 in the morning, prescriptions were called in at 1130 PM (3 hours previous). Despite being in emergency condition, the man said "can you come back in an hour, it's time for my lunch". I conveyed this was an emergency, he said "too bad, I'll be back at 330. Do you live around here?" Then I said, again, this is an emergency, he literally laughed. When it became clear that he still wasn't going to help, I asked if he could at least send the prescriptions to the CVS near my home (I was only here because of emergency conditions plus 24 hours being open). He said he would do this, and did NOT do this. Thankfully the person at my local CVS was able to handle everything the next morning after only about ~30 minutes of waiting, but there was substantial amounts of pain felt which would have been avoided had the person helped. Also, despite his apparent overwhelming need to take lunch exactly upon my arrival at 230 AM, he helped the woman behind me in line. read more

My complaint is not about the pharmacy staff. They do their best trying to take care of everyone. My complaint is about the front store staff. I've been coming to this location for over 30 yrs. Until last year, their CVS store employees were people that I had gotten to know ~ were always helpful. I come for my prescription here because it's 24 hours and they usually have my medication. 2 weeks ago, I walked in and looked for the coupon machine. It used to be at the front-center of the store. I see a young woman / Sales Associate talking to a male customer. Roughly a feet away from the the sales associate stood a woman who was leaning on one of the fixtures ~ seemingly listening to the conversation. Since she wasn't speaking to anyone and stood a distance away, I went up to her and asked where to find the coupon machine. She snapped at me: can't you see, I'm helping a customer? I replied that she didn't look like she was carrying a conversation with that man. She responded, no I am helping him. I replied, "but you're standing over here, not next to her (sales assoc) or in front of the customer. I asked, why are you so rude? She said, "you are rude for interrupting my conversation." I replied...is this what customer service is in 2026? I asked her name, and told her that I will file a complaint about her. She replied in a cocky way, "Go ahead...my name is Maria." I called CVS customer feedback and they gave me an incident number. I followed up on that case number, and they basically told me, the district manager, when he/she gets around to it, will either provide additional training or let go of the employee. I'm not trying to get anyone fired, but CVS culture is no longer about customer service. That same day, when this incident occurred, I saw another sales associate tell a customer, I'm doing something right now. The customer had an issue finding an item and the section the sales rep was pointing her to go was maze-like. The customer was an elderly woman who had a hard time navigating within that space. CVS is most likely pays very little, and their staff look angry ~ and who gets the brunt of it? We, the customers! They had all these helpful employees, but they got rid of them and replaced them with people like Maria! read more

I left a pouch with several credit cards, a gift card, and an ATM card on the CVS counter over a month ago. I didn't realize it wasn't in my purse for five weeks because I didn't need any of those specific cards. I was pleasantly surprised when I called them five weeks later and found out they had it. Why can't anybody answer the phone! At least Walgreens can answer the phone even though you have to sit on hold for a lengthy period of time periodically. This is beyond reprehensible. My partner asked to use the restroom after having paid $40 for products and the manager REFUSED! This was after literally the two people who entered before us were directed to the bathroom without even having bought a product. I don't want to cry racism but the supervisor in May May 26th at 10:30pm MUST BE FIRED. This is after my partner told him she was on her period and had to use the bathroom urgently. How did the rule change within minutes?! Especially for a customer who paid before asking for the bathroom before the pre axing two who entered with her? I don't see it on my cvs medication profile so I asked the pharmacy tech at the window to get it transferred over... her first comment is u do it.. then u have me the wrong number ... ur gonna have to call the doctor to get the medication renewed.... U! U! U! All I asked was for them to try calling them and asking them about the script since it wasn't transferred properly.... I'm sure I am not the first one this has happened to! Tamara Hilitskaya - the pharmacist . I am going to file a complaint about her with the appropriate authorities. I wouldn't trust her to clean public bathrooms let alone with my medications. CVS pharmacy is dispensing less meds then subscribe by my dr. Stating the full amount on the bottle and receipt and when trying to discuss the issue- with this horrible person who also refused to give me her name- (store staff gave it to me) she shouted at me and didn't let me speak - as soon as I addressed her- she yelled at me "I can't help you- our computers are down" and refused to listen to what I have had to say. When I was finally able to tell her why I am there- her shouting at me has escalated. Tamara must have miserable life because her abusive behavior and negativity are shocking. I wonder who treats her so badly in order for her to take it out on pharmacy patients. Traumatic experience coming here this morning. I left all shaken and still short of my one week life depending medication which the pharmacy didn't dispense despite falsely stating they did. You would not believe this drug store - it is open 24 hours and has a full staff at all hours of the night. The last time I found a store open 24/7 was in 1995. The staff on duty when I showed up at midnight was: Chris, AJ, Andrew and Nipa. All of them were ready to help. This particular pharmacy is horrible. Lines are often long with one person working them. Most employees don't care to provide any customer service. Every time I visit I see new and often untrained employees. The ones that have been there a while are in my opinion very lazy and rude. They loose prescription refills often and always, in my case, I have to contact the doctor again and again. I recently transferred all my prescriptions out there. read more

Boy has this CVS improved in the last year. They really turned things around after many years in the doldrums. It now has a bright organized atmosphere that makes you want to stay and shop. Before I could not wait to leave. Now I walk around browsing many aisles. My favorite section is the one that has "Seen on TV" products. There are so many cool things in this aisle like a remote control that hypnotizes your significant other and gets them to do things you want. And a face mask that shocks you if you try to take it off. And who does not need that box that you put a Dollar in before you go to bed and it turns it into a 100 bill by the time you wake up in the morning. Talk about stimulus--the Fed loves CVS! I can't wait to shop here again and see what else they come up with! And they have an automotive products section in case while you are picking up that medicine from the Gastro to clean out your "pipes," you also get in the mood to clean out the fuel delivery system on your car--they have gasoline additives from STP and Gumout that you put in the gas tank and clean the injectors, carburetor, intake valves, and fuel lines. CVS Pharmacy on 2505 Santa Monica Bl in Santa Monica is the typical drugstore with aisles of goods from vitamins, personal care to candies and Halloween stuff. I liked that CVS was associated with Minute Clinic for vaccinations which for convenience sake earned 2 stars. Other than that, upon stepping inside this drugstore, the hideous filthy carpet in some areas grossed me out. I was NOT fan of the layout and lack of organization of the products. There were too many staffers standing around chit chatting and not helping customers or organizing the store. Some of the aisles were disheveled. Lack of care and initiative by some employees. If not for Minute Clinic inside, I would not come here. read more

A horrible experience. I was accused falsely by a not very bright employee perhaps a manager of stealing. For simply having a reusable bag with me. Which is legal in California. She seemed inebriated to be honest. I will be contacting corporate about this. Expect a lawsuit. There is something sketchy going on at this store regarding the vagrancy issue here as others have hinted at. I witnessed one homeless individual at the pharmacy who had a ton of empty mail packages outside late one night being dispensed a bunch of pills without a prescription and without paying. Years, make that over twenty, since I lived in Santa Monica and frequented this CVS; not even sure it was a CVS way back then. Parking lot is still a challenge. If you do end up spending your hard earned dollars here, park here, DO NOT forget to "trunk" your valuables elsewhere so the thieves don't see you do it, prior to parking, LOCK your car; the neighborhood has changed, capisci? AND exercise extra care (Just realized "Extra Care's" a CVS tagline.) when leaving, utilize that back up camera! Advised by the Brentwood CVS to come here as the pharmacy is open 24-hours, we arrived, parked. As we entered the store couldn't help but notice "sidewalk art", a spill comprised of soft drinks and urine originating at the base of a cement trash receptacle and lava-like had flowed to the curb, preserved by the heat of the sun, definitely indelible. Perhaps a power wash will remove the stench. This CVS is huge, cavernous. So much so, it lends itself for tweens and teens to ram around in the spirit of sport only to be repeatedly admonished by pharmacy staff over the loud speaker, "NO RUNNING IN THE STORE!" What I intended to be a one-star Yelp is now a two-star Yelp only because the pharmacy was open 24-hours, pharmacy staff was polite, reasonably efficient and processed the prescription in less than the 15-minute wait time indicated at drop off. While hubby and I waited, watched the big kids "play", I said, "This is the last dollar spent at CVS here or any other location!" I was not happy when I walked in. Empty and everyone seemed busy. I was there to get my meds to transfer from other branch here. So far it has been 3 days and I have not received text informing me while the person behind drop-off counter told me it would be there tomorrow evening. Well, he was slow and people lined up behind me. However, he was slow and trying to do everything well and correctly. My anger disappeared. He may not be the best one, at least he was trying. I looked around and found out most of people are busy doing something. They are not standing and chatting, everyone has something to do and to be busy for. Not intentionally trying to ignore you or provide bad service. We don't have to be so critical, everyone's time is valuable and we all know that. But if they are busy making money and making a living, why do we give them a bad review? read more

I had such an unimaginable experience with CVS today. We spent the entire evening at the emergency department with my 6 year old nephew., who experienced his first asthma attack. We were released @ 6 a.m. this morning the medication was sent to CVS in Santa Monica on Santa Monica Blvd. ST Johns Pharmacy is my pharmacy of choice. St. John's took it upon themselves to call and to change it to there pharmacy, but they did nothing so I got involved and I called, but the automated system would not allow me to do a anything but to leave a message. I called the store itself and spoke to a manager who only gave me the person in charge first name and she was not there so I asked for an email address so I can give them my experience however they said that I can follow up or follow through with calling her back at this general number, so I spent most of my time calling them and then calling the emergency department to see if I can get it switched over and they were very, very rude (CVS). It is uncanny. I really didn't request anything but that they allow the medication to be released so that I purchase it somewhere else. What a horrible experience and my nephew needs to be on steroids so that I won't have to revisit the ER anytime soon. It is now the next day 5 PM and I'm waiting for my pharmacist to deliver, which is something that should've been done hours ago I am so so unhappy. This place is insane. Spoke with the pharmacist today 5/13 at 1:52pm to call in a medication they are so lazy that she said they could not take verbals, WHAT? She said there were so many mistakes with medication. I agree with that those medication are not done when calling in meds they are done with the pharmacy doesn't know what they are doing. They are lazy and want to do the bare minimum. I asked for her supervisor and she said she didn't have one, ha! Expect to wait for hours and have endless back and forth. I don't know if the problem is corporate, upper management, or toxic work environment, but this pharmacy isn't functioning well. They're inflexible, uncooperative, and unwilling to make adjustments when changes happen, which impedes the workflow. Most everyone gets an attitude about anything that isn't completely automated, yet they're unwilling to make the adjustments needed related to new insurance, different manufacturers, etc. in order to fit it into their system. If this is CVS corporate's doing, they need to make things better for their employees. If it's management at the pharmacy, how you're running things isn't working and maybe some leadership training would help. read more

This pharmacy is open 24 h, which is probably why people try to put up with them using delivery & auto refill It is very difficult to solve problems with a prescription that can't be solved on the app. as when you call CVS pharmacy , there is no option to speak to a pharmacist - getting through the menu of recommendations, I feel suicidal When I call, I'm inundated with unwanted information on vaccinations & my need to use app & then CVS texts the app to download when the entire reason you are calling is because the app can't fix a certain problem. The bot repeats 'yes' or 'no' demanding an answer to a moot & unanswered question The bot is designed to not comprehend 'speak to pharmacist' It's torture If you have auto refill they won't let you know if something is out of stock and if it is out of stock it could be for months-so too bad for you. This is not an exaggeration. They won't let you know No CVS had one of my autofill prescriptions (auto refill common drug) - the Pharmacist says to call other non CVS pharmacies To find out that your auto refill won't fill it may takes days Also I had an auto delivery - then was texted that the delivery was cancelled for no reason Another issue is that I was told another refill was out of stock indefinitely But I went to the pharmacist and pointed to the asthma med that was on a shelf - eye level- inches from the pharmacist I don't like going in there because it is dirty & there is a lot of shoplifting I want to take a shower ax soon as I get home Unfortunately I got a sore throat & cold just trying to go in & resolve the out of stock prescription I think ultimately the problem is CVS underpaying and understaffing pharmacists but who knows It's probably more complicated with multiple things at fault Like Pharmaceutical companies not wanting to manufacture something or refusing to make a deal with CVS One thing for sure is that customer service is horrible & the APP is horrible & at least the cheapskate could have a pharmacy chat read more

Our prescription was called in 36 hours ago and it is still not ready. My wife has been sitting on hold for two hours waiting for someone to answer the phone. meanwhile I went to the store I hear them paging for the pharmacy to answer the phone over and over yet no one answers the phone. I then asked the clerk at the pharmacy why they don't answer their phone and she said they do. I then explained my wife is sitting on hold for two hours and I hear them paging for you to answer your phone and she just said sorry. I found a great man named Christian that went inside the pharmacy and got me handled. This place is so mismanaged and overwhelmed And they need to tell the truth.
