Absolutely the worst service. Everything is automated. It is very difficult to talk to a pharmacist over the phone. Pharmacists do not check the Rx before filling them and just go off the automated system. I am almost always there for around 30+ minutes, fixing problems with prescriptions, waiting online multiple times. It is very frustrating. read more

Easily, the best pharmacy I've ever patronized. The pharmacists are competent, knowledgeable,, friendly and go the extra mile for customers. Whoever is running this pharmacy is doing a great job. I used to be with Rite Aid and this is such a relief - Rite Aid was mostly chaos. This CVS is well organized and not proficient at solving problems. Just total competence. I go here because it's convenient and the pharmacists do a good job. That's all. As a baseline, this isn't a place where I feel safe and wouldn't bring children. The security guard is a fixture with no jurisdiction to stop illegal behavior. People brazenly walk out with stolen goods- not even trying to hide them- and he only can watch. Because of this - a lot of characters are lurking inside and in the parking lot. Most of the items are behind lock and key, and you basically need a personal shopper to unlock the cases for you as you shop. The Santa Monica police need to crack down on whatever is happening here because it's just not safe. read more

Extremely disorganized and careless !Instead of my prescription I was given the one belonging to somebody else. When I went back to return the wrong Rx I had to wait to have mine filled because they couldn't find it. One prescription transferred from another pharmacy got lost probably because as pharmacist Avideh Sinai told me they have two files on me. Another Rx sent by a doctor also got lost. I have the impression sometimes when they get a new Rx they start another file instead of checking if you are a previous patient. Midday, Friday, 2/28/25, I saw a near-blind elderly person ask for help finding Tylenol. The person by the register, who literally had nothing to do, walked a couple of steps and pointed a BLIND MAN across the store, providing the aisle number. The usual potent mix of employee characteristics here -- laziness and incompetence -- was one-upped by a sociopathic lack of empathy and humanity. This review is for the Pharmacy! The staff here are all so nice, kind, patient, understanding and they remember me!!!! I have become friends with Dylan and Avide, both pharacists here. The staff here are on top of things. They are busy too, but I always get a text from the CVS app, that my Rx is ready for pick up. Parking on the lot is free. I usually enter from Lincoln Blvd. Unfortunately the area is not always great. This is not the fault of the staff who work at CVS. I am always careful to look and see who is lingering in the parking lot before getting out of my car. Overall, I really like the staff at the pharmacy here at CVS. read more

I was dropped off to get a prescription (and was in terrible pain) today and asked the pharmacist to call me a cab. She did happily and I staggered to the front door to wait. I asked Christina if there were any places to eat as I wasn't feeling well and she walked me over to Jack being so sweet and accommodating. She saw me in sat me down and helped me order food. My goodness what lovely treatment she kindly gave me. The lovely security officer Williams followed up letting me know my cab was ready. This review is for the pharmacist Anahit, who just administered my three children's COVID boosters. My youngest two are neurodivergent and getting a vaccine causes a lot of anxiety for them. Anahit was so incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate throughout the ordeal with them. She took the time to explain the process to them and didn't pressure or push them while they worked through their anxiety. She was more patient with them than I was! In the end all three of them left with a booster in arm, and a positive vaccination experience that will make future vaccination easier. We were at the CVS by Whole Foods earlier in the day - no issues with service. Later that day, we were at this CVS and cashier was extremely rude - zero customer service skills at all. The cashier's name on our receipt was Parham - she was a tall, Asian lady with disheveled brown-hair and glasses and a blue polo shirt. They were out of my med but allowed my doctor to quickly change it for one they had in stock. so minus 1 star for not having the cheapest, most frequently written prescription for bacterial conjunctivitis in stock. minus 1 star from overall b/c they didn't have basic kleenex in stock. I LOVE the tiny small kleenex you can put in your purse and they were all out. Also it was HARD to find the kleenex, You'd think it would be next to the toilet paper or paper towels, nope. also their makeup area was kind of a mess, the OCD in me likes to have things all in their proper place. read more

Clean CVS more than the one on Wilshire where I could not stay long because I was afraid of the homeless. This location is a thousand percent better and has cute Valentine's Day gifts! I got a few cute things and there was no drama and no long line, unlike the other SM CVS. The other one had homeless person, 1 cashier, 5 people in line that I left that one to come here. If you're in Santa Monica, this is a decent CVS, otherwise I prefer MDR because it is bigger. read more

I work in the medical field and we are constantly sending patients for prescriptions to this pharmacy. However, Ray is such a horrible pharmacist. As we were trying to get something squared away for a patient RAY was so condescending, mean, impatient, rushing... and said, "this is CVS you're going to have to move it along we are busy". All I could think of was, you are in the wrong business, this is not a drive thru. Could he be overworked? It's a possibility. But at the end of the day we have to treat people with kindness. It is because of people like him that businesses are loosing customers and companies are closing. The pharmacy is great, I have been going there for years. The staff do their best to fill prescriptions quickly and accurately and to help resolve any issues. Here's the problem, and why I will most likely change pharmacies. The parking lot (and sometimes the Store) is frequently full of homeless drug addicts. You are going to have depressed stay at home mothers looking for Ativan, horny couples seeking Viagra, and moronic tourists looking for sunscreen. This CVS is nearly identical to every other well run location. Are the local clientele a bit off? Possibly. But who am I to judge? I'm sure people gave me a few looks when I picked up the extra large tube of KY Jelly... Convenient location that is walkable from the beach. It seems to be impossible to speak to a pharmacist. I had a question regarding a vaccine scheduling problem. On multiple tries, multiple days calls to pharmacy and CVSCare went unanswered after giving more than adequate time on hold. Actually dealing with the in-store pharmacy was okay, but I'm not going to go in-store just to ask a question. Most automated answering systems are irritating, but CVS' is in particular. They don't miss any chance to NOT allowing you to speak with an actual human being. read more

Todays review is dedicated to the pharmacist at the pick up counter. I came in at noon on 12/31/22 (maybe she's sad the year 2022 is coming to an end because she won't be able to top it next year!) and she was berating a woman who was handicapped. The handicapped woman was there to check on a med. The medication wasn't ready and she asked the pharmacist to ring up her over the counter items since she has a very hard time walking. I said I had no issue waiting an extra min, but the pharmacist made her feel horrible for making me wait an extra min. It was very disheartening - she was giving everyone attitude. I was treated like a criminal by a young white associate! I visited here a week ago to purchase a few items because I live in the area and it's convenient. The last item I needed to purchase was allergy medicine. A young white girl grabbed the key for the case and grabbed the allergy medicine that was individually locked in a plastic case. I held out my hand and she started walking away with my medicine! I asked the associate why she would not put the medicine I requested in my hand and she answered, "Oh we usually just take it to the cashier and it will be there for you." I NEVER receive this type of treatment when I shop at CVS in Calabasas or Malibu! I will NOT be returning to this CVS! read more

This was a short stop to get some necessities before a hike. We found ourselves in Santa Monica while en route to the Pacific Palisades, and this was the closest drug store. We walked into a quiet store. There were only two other customers when we walked in here. We spotted what we needed, and proceeded to check out. The staff looked pretty apathetic, but they did their job adequately. I found the other customers annoying, as they ranted about politics. They tried getting me into it, but I wasn't going to bother. I wasn't going to look dumb getting into a political argument at CVS with two elderly hippies. Now I see why the employees here had an attitude that day. The store was clean, they had what we wanted, and the employees did their job. Five stars. read more

The wait time to speak to the pharmacy on the phone averages 20 minutes if you're luck. It can be 40 minutes. It's outrageous.

Once again, CVS fails to list their pharmacy hours correctly. Neither this local store or CVS Corporate care much about customer service. To save you the trouble of running in to pick up a prescription during the hours posted, only to find it closed as I did, the current correct hours are: M-F 8AM-PM WEEKENDS UNTIL 6PM! UPDATE ON 10/22/19 I would like to post a separate review to reward 5 STARS to two employees of CVS, PHARMACIST, VICTORIA, who tonight, actually picked up the pharmacy phone and sorted through 3 prescriptions, still on order, patiently and pleasantly, called the Wholesaler to find out why the Rxs did not arrive today! Also I award 5 STARS TO PHARMACY MGR, ELIZABETH, because she, also works very hard and always provides professional customer service‼ SADLY, CVS CORPORATE CARES NOTHING ABOUT SERVING US, THE COMMUNITY OR APPRECIATE OUR BUSINESS I could have lost my live as a victim of a robber, escaping the store as I entered and was knocked to the cement by him, hitting my head and hip, security guards watching and laughing. Cvs -- let's fire all the pharmacy personnel and have monkeys take their place -- I guarantee they will do a much better job and it will be a lot more cost effective. Plus monkeys are adorable and I would actually enjoy coming to a pharmacy if a monkey were to hand me my meds. Seriously, this CVS blows. Every single time I come here there is an issue. Every.single.time. Once or twice can be a fluke, but damn, this is a fluke no more. I came to the pharmacy yesterday to pick up my usual prescription which I got a phone call saying it was ready. Ok, great I thought...maybe for once they got it right. Wishful thinking. I come to pick up that "ready" prescription, only to have the girl at the counter tell me it will be 15 minutes. Ok fine, I'll wait. So I'm walking around aimlessly looking at the crap I can spend my money on that I really don't need. Well 20 minutes passes...and no one has intercomed me to come get my prescription. I walk up to the same girl that 20 minutes ago said my prescription would be ready and ask her what the heck is going on. Her response? Oh; the pharmacist went on break -- it won't be ready for 30 minutes now. Wtf?!!!?!?! I went from pasty pale to tomato red in 2.5 seconds. What the hell do you mean she went on break?!?!!! Yup, she just left. I swear if I looked good in orange I'd punch this girl and go to jail for the night. My Russian mother would be furious but it would be so worth it...almost. Anyway, my time is pretty valuable (I think) so I didn't even go back yesterday thinking I'll just swing by in the am and pick it up. So that's what I did....and I'm not even surprised any more that my prescription is STILL NOT READY!!!! 30 more minutes they say. If my insurance didn't give me a better deal on my anti baby meds through CVS Caremark I would never step foot into this pharmacy full of incompetent idiots. Please, just hire the monkeys already. I suppose the employees total lack of enthusiasm about their jobs has to do with working at "The Devil's Island" of CVS! This must be store that only the worst customer service representatives get banished to. Last night I called and asked what time I could make an appointment for a flu vaccination. Something they promote. They said they don't make appointments, despite what the web site says. Ok. What time then? They said come at 8:00pm. While asking the pharmacist a question about the vaccination, I was told to wait in the consultation area, and that she would help me after she had cleared the line behind me. It ended up taking me an hour to get a flu shot. As there is no floor manager to complain to, I had to just suck it up and wait. Forget asking to use the bathroom during this time. This is the only CVS where customers are banned from using them. I think it's because of all the homeless, trying to get in. This CVS Is a disaster. read more
